DO NOT DO IT!!!! Initial sales discussions were good (takes way too long) and delivery was fine. But when you want your stuff delivered, watch out! The subsequent charges seem to be random, you have to fight for the discounts both parties agreed to and then when you try to get your pods back, they hold you hostage to their charges. I spent over 5 hrs on the phone on 3 different dates 4 different people to try to get redelivery and to determine the right charges. Again you have to fight the charges, they tell me they put the info on the system and returns charges but it ignores the discounts you are supposed to get and then they say the charges are based on the zip code and the date of delivery...so they charge more or less based on where you live! And since they hold your possessions, you are held hostage to their random charges. It was $2.85/mi for the first haul, then $7.33/mi on the 2nd and then the free redelivery actually cost $194 because I am 27 miles from storage facility and deal was for 20 miles, so those 7 miles cost $27.57/mi. It is all highway robbery....Now they are telling me the Costco discount only applies to my original order and somehow my order # changed and so the Costco discount no longer applies. I DID NOT CHANGE THE ORDER. THE SYSTEM IS SET UP TO FLEECE YOU!!! THEY ALSO DO NOT PRORATE STORAGE EITHER, WHICH WAS NOT EXPLAINED SO YOU PAY FOR A FULL MONTH OF RENT NO MATTER IF IT IS 1 DAY OR 30 DAYS. I will never be a PODS customer again. I scheduled my POD delivery and pick up in April 2026 to assist me with my cross country move at the end of May 2026. I have received confirmation emails from PODS almost daily since April, just for them to tell me the day before that my POD delivery to my first address is delayed, further delaying the arrival of my POD to my new city by a WHOLE WEEK. This has been one of the worst companies I have ever experienced working with. I spent an hour and a half this morning on the phone with customer service as I continued to receive emails over the weekend that my payment had been declined. Further emails stated that my delivery would be delayed as it was scheduled for delivery for today due to payment being declined. I haven't even received my pod yet, and the entire process has been a complete mess. When I booked, the agent assured me that as long as my pod was picked up by November 24, they could schedule delivery for December 6. She mentioned the system was showing December 12, but told me it would be no problem to change it and that she was already working with her manager to correct it. When the date still hadn't been updated, I called today for an update and everything completely changed. I was then told that PODS suspends operations for an entire week for Thanksgiving, something their own employee apparently wasn't aware of. As a result, not only was the December 6 delivery impossible, but even the December 12 date shown on their website was no longer an option, and my delivery was pushed back even further. To make matters worse, even though my account was placed on a special hold in their system, the agent I spoke with today tried to gaslight me by insisting there were no notes and therefore they couldn't confirm anything I had previously been told. This has created a huge logistical mess with movers at my destination and has made an already stressful process even more overwhelming. Bad experience start to finish. 1. Agent setting up service sent wrong information summary (of different customer). They did give me discount for that. 2. When dropping off empty container, they dropped off someone else's full container instead. It took another couple hours to get the empty container. 3. When scheduling final drop off, the earliest date was 11 business days away, when I was told that 9 days is maximum. 4. A couple days before the delivery date, I got a call from an insurance adjuster asking if I had made an accident with a PODS container. She said she was given my information. No more information given to me. 5. No call/email day before delivery to give time window for delivery the following day. It took 4 calls from me before finally someone called me and said the container was damaged and I had to go empty it myself at the storage facility as they would have to rip the door open. No information given about what happened. 6. I booked a Uhaul and movers to unload the pod into the truck at my expense. I was told they would reimburse. Called to get reimbursement and was told someone would call me within 48 hours to arrange. 48 hours just passed. No call. 7. I wish I could give them a negative review. This was THEE worst moving experience I have ever been through and I've moved 17 times in my life. One, they don't pick up on weekends?! Um what. The delivery person is an absolute asshole. Called 6am the day of the delivery, we agreed on the location and time of the delivery. Then during the delivery, they literally dumped the container in front of the driveway and left. When I called to ask what happened, the guy had an attitude and tried to say we agreed to put in front of the driveway. Worst customer service I have seen in a while. I arranged a PODS delivery to our storage facility under the discount from Cisco. The first PODS arrangement was successful, so I thought. I realized the POD wasn't as big as I assumed so I placed an order for a second one, only to find out the first PODS container was not reserved correctly and the representative misled me on the pricing by not informing me he had us renting the container for a month after the we emptied the container. I informed them that was not the plan to rent an empty container because we would no need for it after it being emptied and that I was not aware of the terms. To reserve the second pod, we had to change our original contract and caused us an additional $500 from from what we were originally quoted. We were kind of stuck because they had our belongings in the first container already. After the delivery of the first container, which was delayed due to snow, they attempted to charge us for redelivery. We paid for all of the mileage and and delivery only to receive several statements that we now owe $1106 for mileage delivery, storage and redelivery. BOTH PODS HAVE BEEN PICKED UP. We were told if the first POD was picked up before the 26th of February then we would not be charged storage. The POD was picked up on February 16th. The second was delivered on the 24th of February and picked up on the 25th. This was arranged with representative each time to avoid the drama and foolery I dealt with before. Needless to say, I have nothing for of PODS. Their customer service is subpar. One representative argued with me, they would never allow me to speak to a manager, never transfer me to stateside to speak to another representative. If you can rent a U-Haul or use another service, I recommend it. I will not use PODS nor recommend to my family. My sister is moving from one state to another and I told her to avoid PODs. They frustrate an already stressful time, by not being honest with their pricing and services. Don't use this company, it will save you. I have been charged for a storage container that I did not order and I did not use, my roommate did. Because we lived at the same address and he left and didnt pay his bill, they now have added his bill to my unit I have had stored with them since I've been in the hospital. I refused to pay his bill so they are saying they will sell my stuff to pay for his bill.If I want to sue them for the money I must take them to court in Florida, and they are sure I won't do that, so I better pay it, or lose my stuff. They say that the charge has been taken off, but the next month I find out the charge wasn't taken off and a new charge was on my cc. Everything about PODS was smooth until pick up time of the empty PODS at our new house. When the full ones were delivered to our new house my husband was asked where he would like the full ones to be placed. My husband suggested near the garage doors so most items could be brought in through the attached garage. At no time was the placement questioned by the driver or a suggestion made stating they should be put in a different location. My husband asked s not a moving expert and we hired PODS to be the experts. We had 16x8x8 PODS . The last driver picking up the last POD immediately began having problems getting the POD onto his trailer. My husband suggested a different way to do it and offered the equipment to do it. The driver told him it was his job and he would do it. He also said the PODS should not have been in the spots they were in. As the driver continued to struggle with the POD and my husband saw it was beginning to damage our yard he once again offered a suggestion and equipment in order not to further damage our yard. The driver became agitated and ordered my husband to stop by I by invite him advice and to let him do his job. We will now have to hire a yard expert repair all the deep ruts in our yard. We filled a damage. PODS denied it saying my husband gave the instructions on where to place PODS and therefore they were not liable. We believe the drivers should have put the PODS in a location that would have enabled them to be picked up without damaging our yard. They are the experts not my husband. read more

I called to cancel my reservation and was provided a discount to keep it. I asked if there would be any additional charges at the end of our call and was told no. Additional charges were added to my credit card so I called PODS to dispute. I received an automatic response via email referring back to my original contract. I was also told both pods would be delivered in my driveway because I had the clearance to do so. My second pod was delivered in the street and was told by the delivery driver it was common for the sales people to tell you they will fit to finish the sale. My experience has been awful. I was moving from Washington to the Bay Area in California and chose to use PODS instead of a moving company. After paying and packing my POD I left after it was pick up for CA on May 21st being told that the POD would be there in June 9th. I had a family member fly to help me with this moving and to unload the POD on June 9th. So on June 9th the local POD driver was ready to bring me the POD but there was no POD. After being told originally from customer service that June 9th was the day they can deliver, I called customer service and found that the POD was still in Washington! Now they are telling me the 19th. They offered no explanation and no reason or refund for this. After being transferred twice I was able to get the additional storage fees that would be from the 9th to the 19th waved but that's it. We used PODS to move cross-country from NY to CA based on the information they provided. At booking, we were explicitly told transit would take 3-10 days. That information was wrong. Pickup was a mess from the start. No call, no text, no email with an arrival window the night before. The next day, my wife had to call PODS directly to track the driver down, only to find out he'd been parked outside our building for 30 minutes without letting us know us. When asked if he had contacted anyone, his response was: "Oh my fault." No apology from the driver or PODS once we let them know. We lost paid loading time because of this. Now that we're in California, we requested delivery for December 27. We're being told that the earliest delivery is January 6, because PODS now claims cross-country delivery requires 15 days, directly contradicting what we were told when we booked. And here's the real problem: PODS is now trying to charge us for an additional full month of storage because their delayed delivery date falls just past renewal. We have already spent a significant amount on this move, and we're being told we may owe nearly $1,000 extra due to PODS' own misquote, with no apology, just "we need to investigate and see if you'll be charged." On top of that, because PODS can't deliver on the date we specifically chose, we'll likely have to unload the entire container ourselves. Friends and family are unavailable on the new date, which is exactly why we scheduled our delivery date in the first place. So now we wait in limbo, unsure whether PODS is actually going to charge us an extra $1,000 for their error, while taking zero accountability for the misinformation that caused this situation. When I said driveway he rudely and abruptly responded "Won't fit" and proceeded to tell me I needed to get a permit to have the container in the street. The driver did not visit my property or see my driveway and was very rude. Then when I tried to speak to someone online I was essentially informed that it was my fault. Long story short- you'll probably be fine if you move from point A to point B. Don't try anything that requires a person's assistance, and expect the charges to add up quickly. This rating is specifically for the horrible automated customer service, and when you can reach a human, their responses are all scripted. My PODS were stored at a PODS facility for a few months. They needed to be delivered to a more permanent storage facility 550 miles away. The delivery time was assigned last night for today and my assigned time was for 7-8:30 am. The destination was a storage facility that didn't open until 9:00am. *PODS also states that they may not adhere to their schedule. Thankfully when the driver called in the morning, he was able to rearrange his schedule to accommodate the storage facility's hours. I am grateful to Larry for his patience and accommodation. Now I have to go through the process in reverse for the final container pickup. To accommodate a client with winter storm disruptions, my movers can't guarantee that they can unload my PODS before noon time on the container pickup day. There is no way to request from PODS an afternoon pickup. Multiple tries to fix this online and with a customer service rep were failures. They simply repeated their script that they couldn't do anything about it. For the cost of moving, storing, and final pickup, this shouldn't be an issue. Weeks after scheduling my pod delivery for a move, and 3 separate confirmations of the delivery instructions, the driver shows up, damages the driveway and fence, then calls to inform me through slurred speech that a permit is required and I need to cancel my order (obvious lie). I say that I don't want to cancel and I will get a permit ASAP. The driver then cancels the order and claims it was at my request moments after that call ends. (Another obvious lie) My city says no such permit exists. I get called back by pods to ask what went wrong, and I explain the situation. They tell me they can drop the pod off the next day, but I need to sign a waiver releasing them from liability for damages. I tell them I won't be signing anything, and that they are not to charge me for a service they refused to provide. Looks like they charged me a cancellation Fee anyway. TLDR; seemingly impaired pod driver crashes into my property, lies about it, makes up a city ordinance that doesn't exist, lies about our conversation, tries to trick me into signing a release absolving them of the damage done, then charges me for the privilege. Recommend strapping your stuff to the top of your car before using PODS. After changing the time window 5 times on my pick up date they no-showed. POD sat here for another 2.5 days before they came to get it. Despite repeated lengthy phone conversations (think 5 hours over 3 days) they refused to honor my original contracted delivery date to my new house. Delivery is now delayed an additional week beyond the contracted date. In order to get a permit to get my POD on the street, the city is requiring a Certification of Liability Insurance with their name specifically on it. On the phone another hour to figure out why was a pod delivered after it was cancelled. We don't know what happend but we can't take the pod away until Monday! And since it was delivered you will be charged $179 for that said the first representative. So they want me to pay for their lack of communication and their mistake. I did what I needed to do. I called and cancelled with them. If anything else happend that was not on me but on them and their team. Mean while the pod is now blocking access to our garage to move. Finally I get to transfered to a manager and I tell them she needs to hear my 3 minute call with the last representative. She realizes that I did cancel. She hears everything I said is right and everything is in the recorded call. It is their mistake that they deliver a cancelled order. Manager says I haven't been charged and won't be charged since she can't see it in the system. She sets an investigation which is don't care. I know what I asked and how they answered over and over on a recorded line. She apologized for their fuck up and finally figures out how to get the pod out of my driveway that day and not 3 days later when it fits into their schedule. Then guess what? PODS went ahead and charge me $570 bucks for the cancelled pod. Pods is just like every other moving company. They tell you what you want to hear. Then when it comes down they don't come through. Hopefully you don't have to pay for their incompetence or waste your time and have to deal with stressed pods caused me. 0 stars for charging me for a cancelled service. read more

1) I despise call centers in foreign countries--I spent half my time trying to understand heavy accents. 2) The billing is an absolute nightmare 3) One driver was great, one refused to put the container where I needed it. 4) They hit my card without my knowledge, and when I called to go over the account, I got 3 different totals due. Nothing shows up on their website regarding any open balance. I'm told they don't put the balance and payments into the account until after they've been completed. What kind of nonsense business refuses to give you a statement? 5) The convenience is great, but I'm not sure I'd use them again. I don't need more frustration while trying to move. read more
