We had one pod and were having it picked up and another delivered. I was assured the pickup would happen before the delivery as our driveway is not large enough to accommodate two pods. However, they send the delivery drive before they sent the pick up driver. The driver was nice and tried to solve the problem, however he used a neighbors driveway without permission (against my wishes), and now the neighbor is trying to sue us for damage to his sewer pipe. Pods has done basically nothing even though we filed an incident report and asked that they take care of it (and keep us out of it). In a separate incident during the same move, I was told the new pod could be picked up on the same day as our closing date as they could schedule for the morning, however we received the notification and it would not be picked up until the evening. Pods refused to do anything, thus delaying our closing. Oh--and I was on hold for 40 minutes before I could talk to their customer service--and they they dropped the call!! Another 45 minutes later and I am told they can't help me. Terrible company and terrible customer service. We will never use them again. read more

Beware of PODS!! (And read the fine print) They start out very helpful and it seems very convenient. They are even pretty flexible about dropping the POD off. That's where it ends though. After that goodluck. Once they drop it off for u to finally unload it they are impossible to get to pick it up again. We unloaded in a day but they told us it would take 2 weeks to pick up. We even had the city warn they would ticket and tow. We called them to let them know and they still do not care saying that it is on us to pay for tickets and anything that happens ( in the fine print) but still refuse to pick it up earlier. read more

PODS dropped off my container of household furniture after 2 years in "climate controlled" storage. Both the delivery and drop-off drivers were great, however, it all went bad when I opened the container and found it full of mold. Virtually everything was destroyed. Customer service refused to do anything until they brought the container back and tested it for "water intrusion", which of course there was none and, as such, they denied any liability. It was MOLD not water damage....How do you get mold in a climate controlled storage facility.I would not recommend that anyone use PODS read more

Beware the bait and switch. I had my POD unit for 3 months. The initial price was quoted at $200 per month. In the end I ended up paying $1200 for 3 months. The convenience of having your items on site for easy access is the reason for the 1 star. Otherwise I will never use this service again and will never recommend this service to any of my friends and family. My contents were a disaster upon delivery to my final destination. my review is of PODS in general and the Chino, CA site which was not listed. After my order for a container I was not called the night before for a window of delivery time. I called the morning of and was initially told they would deliver between 7pm and 10pm that evening. after disputing this, they told me between 4pm-7pm. the driver then called me at 1000am stating he was on his way to my condo to deliver then. He tried to place the container with the doors facing the opposite direction of what I had instructed over the phone and initially with scheduling. I used the container for exactly 31 days, one day over the 30 day billing period. I received a final statement stating zero balance. I did expect to pay a prorate for one day, but instead one week later was charged on my credit card for a whole month. When I called the national assistance line I was told by Tracy that she could not guarantee that the service would be prorated, and I might be charged for the full month. She stated she would send and inquiry to the Chino site and it would be up to them to decide. I called the Chino site myself and was told that it should have been handled by the national customer service which I had initially called. He stated he would notify his manager. We contracted Pods this last May to make a local move to Riverside. They dropped off the pods and all was going well. We got them filled by professional movers that padded and packed it to the brim perfectly. Pods came out and picked up the pods. the new home went over the expected move in date by 4 days. June 14 was my billing cycle and we had them delivered at the new house on the 18th. we were ready for them to pick them up by the 20th but when we called they told us the earliest they could pick them up is the 29th. They charged us a full $500+ for the extra full month no pro-rated fees. When we unloaded the pods there were a few items that had damage but the one that stands out is the big dent in my refrigerator door. I feel that their rates are high $$$$ and they bounce the containers when loading and unloading. The only advantage is that they store it for you and you fill it at your own speed but they are charging a real high premium for their convenience. read more

They advertise hassle free moving but we have had nothing but hassle. The concept is wonderful, the execution is miserable. Timing was a serious issue. We had taken vacation days off work to facilitate the loading and the POD was delayed. Once we had it 3/4 loaded we found an issue with the door mechanism and could not secure it for the evening. Pick up and delivery dates were inaccurate and customer service has just continued to give us an "incident number" with no concern for or time or trouble. RENT A TRUCK!!!!!!!!!! read more

They failed to deliver the pod on time, the driver mishandled the pick up of the pod once loaded such that the furniture inside was subjected to significant fall damage and we had PODS fail to pick up the pod as scheduled which cost us $350 in fees from the city and a commercial tow company. They contractually agreed to remove the pod by a given date and even though assuring us 15 minutes prior to scheduled pickup that they would pick it up, they failed to do so. After 4 calls and 2 hours, they refused to do anything to make it right. NEVER use PODS. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I will be spreading this word far and wide on Yelp, FB, PODS home page. read more

My husband and I were moving but our sons were staying so we needed to be able to physically separate our household effects from theres. The POD gave us that room. It did exactly what we wanted. I was moving from one state to another. Needed 3 PODS and put them in their storage site. I told them I did not know when I would need delivery but got a quote for long haul delivery. Once I moved and then then decided to ship the PODS that's when things went wrong. I set up the pick up date from the storage area to my location. The day after the scheduled pick up date I called the storage site and found out PODS not picked up. Called the 1-800 number and was told the action had been canceled, no explanation as to why. I rescheduled the pick up and delivery, when the day after pick up arrived I again called the site again and was told it was not picked up. Called the 1-800 number and again told it was cancelled, no reason why.Note here that when you call them you speak to a different person and their is no continuity with anyone. Set up the third attempt to get stuff delivered. This time when I called site they said it was picked up The delivery and fuel charge was $5170.62 for a 774 mile trip, that is $6.68 per mile, they could not deliver to my location it had to be delivered to a Hub that was 95.1 miles away. The hub only delivers one time a week so I had to wait for that. When they did deliver I was unloading a POD when I got a call and was told I would owe $1,663.00 for re delivery fee this comes out to $16.14 per mile extra. When I got my record together I called the 1-800 number and they confirmed that was correct. I explained that I was never informed of this until after delivery, they said so sorry didn't care I ask to speak to supervisor and got no where ask for the Main office number was told they didn't know what is was. I called my credit card company and told them the issue and they took the charge off of my card and said they would get in touch with the company, I did not hear for PODS or my card company so I thought it taken care of. A couple of months went by and I received a call from a collection agency telling me to pay or they would mess with my credit. I went to the Better Business Bureau and found numbers for their corporate office. Called them and got nowhere was told they won against the card company and resubmitted again and was was rejected again and that wast what the charge was for. I could not understand that as the charge was made before the card denied payment. The card company denied any knowledge of a second time around, they said they never heard from PODS. We continues to fight this and went from Account Maintenance to Acct review who told us that they did not know what the $1,663.00 charge was and would send this back to Account Maintenance. After this runaround we file a BBB complaint. We got about our complaint and was told if we paid $1,535.15 the collection would stop, they are so kind. We then decided we would pay the full amount to stop collection. PODS seemed like a good alternative for us to put stuff in storage and ship it later, the problem with PODS is 1. The 1-800 number communication speaking to different people and getting different information. 2. Getting quotes that apparently change when they feel like. 3. The left hand not knowing the right hand. 4. The outright falsehoods that are said as you talk to representatives. I will never us PODS again and I suggest that anyone thinking of using them check with other moving and storage businesses do your homework call them many times and see how many times their rates change. read more

I was fortunate to have had a very good experience with POD. They housed my stuff for 3 months while in transition from one city to another. The only inconvenience was driving to Chino twice when I needed to get into my POD, but that was my fault. They picked up and delivered on time and everything went smooth. Our Pod was picked up in FL on May 4. On May 17 we closed on our new house so we immediately called PODS to set up delivery from FL to our new home in NC. We were told that they could NOT deliver to our area until June 5th because they only deliver to our location on Wednesdays. Was told would NOT be charged another storage fee due to their inability to deliver within the 5 days promised. Then, we were sent a bill for another month's storage fee of $273 so we called to clarify this charge. The REP was very indifferent and explained that we had to pay it since the delivery date was past the full month. MEANWHILE this was not our fault. They are the ones who could not deliver the following Wednesday after our call. It appears they purposely booked our delivery date so they could charge us another monthly storage fee. We waited so long for our belongings and to be lied to and charged MORE MONEY is completely disappointing. Furthermore, the ORIGINAL REP we spoke to set up moving NEVER ONCE told us about a redelivery fee. Ultimately, we have ended up paying over $700 over our initial quote. We will NEVER EVER use or recommend PODS to anyone. This was a complete Bate & Switch. Furthermore, be sure to clean your POD out completely because if you don't they'll charge you more, as warned by another PODS customer. I doubt anyone from PODS will bother to contact us to rectify their wrongdoing. Moving is expensive and stressful as it is, we certainly don't need to feel robbed by the company we chose to protect and deliver our belongings. Shame!!! read more

The ability to store your stuff when putting a house on the market, then having it delivered to your new home was appealing and worked. However, their largest pod is not that big and we had to also get a storage unit. It was way too expensive for the size and then you have a delivery fee on top. Save yourself the agony just have a storage unit then get a truck and move it. As to their web site, just say NO! Call instead (you may not have the best time there either) I checked on my account to make sure all was paid in full and it showed a 0 balance; I then ordered the empty POD to be picked up. Only a day later, I receive an email from an collection agent (by the way not even 13 days late on the monthly payment that on the web site was a 0 balance the day before) and my account is Locked and I have no way to discuss what I saw with the person on line. The law in my state is 30 days before any lock can be put on the rental unit...guess Florida doesn't have such a law. But not even a month late and they have you in a collection agency is rediculous. In addition, Not being able to see your account is ridiculous. Other companies just ask for a different form of payment if a payment is denied. I was passed off from one operator to another, then a voicemail. I had to call back because I had a 3 pm deadline and I was leaving town. I gave 2 stars because the pickup and delivery of the pod itself was fine. But the customer service set up is horrible and the cost is more than a super large storage unit at my local storage center. Giving them my belongings and money was easy, getting them back is not. I was able to arrange for the initial drop off and pay over the phone easily, everything else has been a struggle. First, not a single person told me that once they picked up the pod I would have to call to schedule the delivery. I know this sounds dumb, but my pod was in storage for a week with no prompts to contact them before I called on my own. The customer rep told me that they had been dealing with incompetent customer service. Fast forward to today, when my pod is finally supposed to be delivered and I have not heard a single thing from anyone at the company. When I called the customer service line, the auto-attendant said my order didn't exist. I waited on hold until I could talk to a live person who called the storage center and told me that I would be emailed back with an estimated arrival. I waited five hours with no contact and called back. This person told me that customer service had no way of knowing when the pod would be delivered, but when I pushed back she said she would contact the storage center. She said the local deliveries were behind and still could not give me an estimated time of arrival. I told her that I work and did not want to wait until this evening to find out that my pod wasn't delivered and asked for the number to the storage center. She told me that "they don't have phones" and she was only able to communicate via IM. I told her that was absurd and found two phone numbers after a 2 second google search. I am so sick of being lied to every time I talk to someone on the phone. I chose this company because they seemed reputable, but all I've seen to get for my money is a lot of stress. read more

Grand Rapids area PODS billing is horrible. They do not post payments to the account after they cash the checks and send threating letters saying they are going to put POD up for auction. I have called numerous times and faxed all the information on the cancelled checks but still have not fixed the account or returned calls. Besides being way over priced. Service sucks. read more

My experience with PODS was pretty on par with most of the others I've read about. They are very nice when giving you estimates and trying to secure your business, but once you've made a payment, you are at their mercy. If you're thinking of using PODS for any reason, seriously, just don't. We used PODS in a move from Nevada to Colorado. The first part of our transaction went ok, they delivered the POD and we loaded it up, assuming it would get tossed around a bit and so packing things very tightly and tying down as often as possible with more rope than we thought was reasonable. Upon trying to call for a pickup, however, it was an hour long wait on hold before we finally got through, and then we were told we absolutely had to go online to schedule as there apparently simply was no way to do things over the phone-- a problem, since we were moving my elderly in-laws who have no internet. But we managed to get it to work, and the POD was picked up Monday and scheduled to be dropped off at the new home next Thursday. Not two days after they had the POD, we got an email saying our account was overdue, and that the amount due was more than $4,000. As the original estimate they gave us was less than $750, we were understandably alarmed. After another hour on hold, we finally got a hold of someone who had no idea what was going on and put us on hold again. After another 30 minutes, she came back and said the account was fixed (zero explanation as to what the heck happened) and we paid our remaining balance right then and there to be sure there would be no further issues. The day before our POD was to be delivered, we get a call saying they couldn't deliver it because of 'weather', and in fact, the POD, after more than a week, still hadn't even left the first warehouse it went to and was still in Nevada. No explanation was given as to how the beautiful sunny 50 degree weather somehow prevented them from delivering. The delivery date was moved back to Saturday. This sucked beyond belief, as my husband works weekends, and now we had to unload the POD in the dark after he had worked a 12 and a half hour shift. But we unloaded it and immediately called for a pickup, as by now we had finally read some reviews (far, far too late) and realized if they delayed pick up repeatedly, we would be charged for another month just because of their delays. As for damage, with copious amounts of rope and serious Tetris skills, almost nothing shifted, and yet we still had several pieces of furniture scratched and damaged. Not too big a deal, as it wasn't high quality expensive furniture to begin with, but if something pack as tightly as ours still shifted, if you want undamaged things, you are going to have to spend a fortune on padding and rope. After yet another hour and a half on hold, we were finally able to arrange a final pick up for the next Wednesday. The very next day we received an email stating that our account was past due, and needed to be paid immediately. For the next 3 days we received emails stating that we were overdue. Yet again, we called and after an hour and a half on the phone, we finally connected with someone in billing who explained that we had been charged another month's rent (even though we still had 9 days before our first month was even up) and that they did not see any scheduled pick up. They put us back on hold for another 30 minutes, and we were finally able to get the incorrect charges removed. Then we had to be transferred to customer service in order to schedule delivery. After yet another 30 minutes (we've been on the phone for more than TWO AND A HALF HOURS at this point!) we are told that the person we scheduled pick up with "hadn't locked in" the pick up date. They finally fixed that, and the POD, thankfully, really was picked up on Wednesday. I shudder to think of anyone having to deal with this company. Their customer service team is so bad it's legendary. Their policies on "estimated" delivery time are juuuuust shy of flat out being a scam, as they delay and delay again until you have no choice but to pay another month's rent. And gods forbid you try to arrange a day off of work to load or unload, or even worse, pay to have movers help you, as even though they demand you plan ahead and call them at least 7 days before pick up is needed, they can't be bothered to deliver on time. read more

Pretty obvious this is not a legit business...more like investors with contract workers who could give a crap. I never look up ratings, but after my phone conversation with the rude A** customer service woman today, my gut told me to check PODS out on line. I wasn't surprised at the poor ratings I found. Long story short, she talked to me like I was an idiot when I questioned their ability to drop off the POD without damaging the driveway because my driveway has a strange slant and the bottom of the truck could end up hitting the concrete. She continued to talk over me, not listening to what I was saying. Then she made the stupidest mistake ever (know your audience lady!)...after she rambled on about how it's not a problem and kept feeding me irrelevant information, I finally said, "No, I do understand, I'm a geometry teacher and the angle of depression of my driveway will not work with the 16 ft POD that you say sits 4 inches off the ground...the truck will hit the concrete" Then she tries this one, "well, you need to measure it" I ask, "measure what." We go back and forth and then she says, "mam - the POD is backed into your driveway by a truck." My comment, "obviously it's backed in or the truck couldn't get out...that has nothing to do with what I'm asking about. I never write reviews, but this company has been so awful that I feel I have to! When I was reviewing my options for moving solutions, I decided that PODs made the most sense. I would be able to have a POD dropped off, load it when I could, and then have them deliver it for me and I could unload it at my leisure. Too good to be true! I am so frustrated!! I had the POD delivered to my address, the driver was beyond polite on the phone. When he called to say he was leaving he said he "tapped" by flower bed on his way out. He didn't tap it, he destroyed it! Now the company is saying that it's not their fault. The rep, who was no help at all, actually told me that the driver called to let me know there was the chance he would destroy my property. I am moving because I sold my house, why would I say it is ok to damage my own property?! Now I am stuck trying to find someone to fix my flowerbed in a weeks time, because that is when the new buyers move in. The company's solution... nothing! They didn't even say they were sorry, just that it wasn't on them to fix!!! I will never recommend this company to anyone, their customer service is awful! Thanks for nothing! read more

I was hesitant to use this company because of all the bad reviews, but we decided to use it because the savings compared with another company was thousands of dollars. I think that many times when people are happy they don't go back and write a good review, so when there are unhappy people they will write a review. I did a lot of research before making my decision and I realized that most of the complaints were due to people not understanding how PODS fees worked. They do not prorate, if you need your POD one day more than your monthly due date you will pay for a whole month. Also, I did not have to wait more than 5 minutes every time I called. I called many many times, any time I had a question I CALLED! So I understood all of the fees, and everything they did was exactly as I expected. PODS was on time for every pick up and delivery. Our belonging arrived safe (we did a good job of packing) we had a 16' container go from the Los Angeles area to Fort Lauderdale Florida. The only glitch we had was we requested a morning delivery in Florida and paid an extra $100. Somehow the message did not get through and our POD arrived at noon. The $100 was immediately refunded (actually they hadn't charged it yet, so it never went through) we still had plenty of time to get the POD unloaded and it was picked up the next day. This minor glitch was not enough for me to change the rating. Co-incidentally my girlfriend was moving from San Diego to Cleveland, Ohio two weeks before our move, she also got a 16' POD. She also had a perfect move with no complaints. Moving can be very stressful, I highly recommend PODS, BUT be sure you understand how the fees work AND call with all of your questions!! read more

Run from this company. I am having the WORST time with is company. On May 4th I called in spoke to Customer Service to set up the delivery of my pod. I was told the earliest date I could have the POD was May18th. Wasn't happy but fine. May 17th I called in to confirm delivery, NOPE my order was never processed. Now the delivery date is May 25th. I was told everything was APPROVED and ready to go. Fine, I called in on 22nd, yes everything is still ready to go for a 25th delivery. Then I get a call on Wednesday saying, they are missing a form I sent in 3 times. I told them please give me an hour. I sent the form to them multiple time, no call back, no emails. I call in Thursday morning to confirm once again everything is on track. Yes it is and you will get a call this evening regarding delivery time. I get a call two hours later stating, nope unable to deliver on the 25th, NOW I have to wait until June 5th. 12 DAYS LATER. I am going out of state on June 5th, my movers had to be cancelled twice. Also NO ONE has managers at this company. The Supervisor in Customer Service has NO MANAGER, the guys in Logistics do not have a Manager or are they lying to me. This company doesn't communicate with each other or the customer. I have called in multiple times and LIED TO EVERY TIME. This company is awful and I still have to deal with them, due to I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY POD... The running joke is I will not get my POD due to CUSTOMER SERVICES incompetency is 2019. read more

I ordered 2 pods and only the first one got there on schedule. After that everything went totally wrong. The other one was scheduled for next day and refused to leave it in my property. So they took the liberty to re schedule a day before I had to leave our old house and when I called to schedule for drop off . I had to pick days that I did not want instead of accommodating me after all the trouble they put me through.never again will I use this s#! $%* service very over priced for what I got. What a joke. "Quick estimate" online = filling out a form, getting a reference number, calling the reference number, 4 minutes of automated calls, 5 minutes of repeating information already given on form. All of this just to be told it will cost $1800 to ship 1 regular size room. Dumb. read more

I wish I could give negative stars!!! We loaded our POD up to sell our house and gave 3+ weeks notice of them needing to move it from Ohio to Oregon. We were scheduled to get all of our worldly belongings 12/16 but on our cross country drive they called to say something happened with our driver and our stuff would be delayed until the 22nd!! Once we argued with them that we had nothing but clothing and our dogs with us they said they'd "try" to get us our POD on the 19th. Well I'll just say that was bs. We called customer service a day after this phone call and Dominique was rude as all get out. She even had the audacity to throw in some snarky comment about us seeking compensation for the hotels, House supplies etc that we had to buy because they dropped the ball. Now on to the 22nd..we got a call from the driver with a timeframe of noon-3 p and it definitely didn't arrive until 4:45. We are still waiting to hear what their "investigation" shows. I will drive a uhaul next time to avoid dealing with these jokers. read more

I had scheduled a POD to be delivered, I was charged extra for having a city permit. Why the do they charge me for the permit if I have to buy it myself? When the POD driver got there she was a very nice lady and she explained that she needed three car lengths just to drop off the POD. The guy on the phone did not mention this. The POD was not able to be delivered because there was not enough space, even though there was enough space to park four cars there, because there were bushes in the way and she was afraid of hitting the car parked next to where the POD would be. They need very specific conditions to be able to drop the POD off. Now I need to find some other way to move in a week because the POD couldn't be delivered. I called and cancelled the order and they should be refunding my money. Unfortunately this service is completely useless if you live in the city. It is only possible to use this service if you live on a street with no other cars parked on it or if you have a driveway. read more

I'm happy to finally be done with this company. First time they deliver the pod, the guy called us (we didnt get a call, but did get a voicemail that we didnt see, our fault. He also sent an email, but we hardly ever check it, also our fault) because our cars were in the driveway. We were going to move them before 11 because thats when they were SUPPOSED to be there, but decided to come an hour early then leave 10 minutes later. I dont know why ringing the doorbell didnt come into his mind, because the whole reason he couldnt put the pod there was because our cars were in the driveway. So he LEAVES. We needed the pod that day, so instead we had to have it delivered 2 days later and spent about 15 hours that day packing, instead of 3 easy days slowing packing our house into the pod. When calling the manager to have a reschedule delivery date, he actually chuckled a couple times because i never answered the phone, yet when i asked why he didnt ring the door bell, I wasnt laughing. I dont know why i never got the call, because we were home looking at our phones that morning waiting for the driver (at 11 of course).' I was told that there wasnt going to be a delivery charge, and of course was charged that as well as a double charge for the pod rental, which im calling about tomarrow. Thank god that we answered the phone call when he was dropping off the pod at our new house, otherwise he wasnt going to drop it off at our new address because he was "looking for an apartment, but this was a duplex"...?? I dont understand why he thought that, an address is an address, who cares if its an apartment or a duplex, so there was a strong possibility of our pod now being delivered yet again. horrible experience. we loaded our 16 ft pod and found out five hours later it wouldnt lock (i get it shame on me for assuming an expensive product works) since the defective slide wouldn't slide all the way into the indent. all i asked for was insurance for my belongings or for my items to be moved to their facility until we bought our new house and was told its not cost effective to do that. after spending $450 to have my entire life in a box that didnt lock they sent a guy out to our house because they didnt believe we were using it properly and found out he couldnt get it to lock either. all said and done after four days of sleeping with one eye open and going through the absolute worst customer service ever (and thats saying alot since i complain to comcast in india alot) we got offered a partial credit. i do mortgages for a living for the past 13 years and i will be going out of my way to tell everyone my experience with with wonderful pods company. i think you people took the tide pod challenge and you should definitely do some customer service training. bums. also i saved this drawn out post so everytime you delete it i will repost. have a great day. read more

Aloha- We called around for several options to move from Oahu, Hawaii to Waco, Texas. PODS seemed to be the best cost. We went over several times the exact cost. The rules and process. They also sent two messages by phone and two by email when the Pod would be delivered a few days before and the day of. We even scheduled the exact day to be picked up 24 hours later. The deliver was smooth. We blocked off the street four car lengths in front of our house. I believe they said two was needed. Sure enough smooth unload. WE LOVED watching the POD being dropped off, very cool. Even though we knew it would be delivered between a three hour window the driver called and said when he was on the way. We didn't have a house in Texas so they stored it for the rest of the month until we got into a house. It was included in that months rent. So please ask questions about the month fee to store. Please make sure they can load and unload. Please confirm exact address. Please confirm price. We might have been slightly annoyed with the updates but it was need as the professionalism across the ocean or across town to do the best they can. Human error is possible. As many of thousands use PODS the ones you hear is the ones who had things go wrong. Ever have a hamburger joint get your order wrong. Here to say, as we were military for 20 years this by far was the easiest most professional move. Thanks POD now to move us from Texas to AR our next move in three weeks. ALOHA- read more

As far as delivering empty PODS, allowing us to load them and then picking them up, I would give 5 stars. It was easy, timely and perfect for our needs. The PODS were stored for 2 years and we accessed them on multiple occasions with no trouble at all. 24 hour notice was all that was needed. Again, 5 star rating. Then it was time to schedule delivery...and a crushing blow - "oh, your PODS can't be there in a week. It will take at least 6 days just for the transit time (that I am paying a ridiculous amount for!) and then you must schedule the delivery from that storage site." So now, we will be in our new home within the week...with no PODS and no possessions. Customer service was very rude and threatened to cancel my order because I asked for an explanation on the transit time frame. A truck leaving from FL on Wednesday should arrive in TN by at least Friday! I don't understand. It does not take 6 days to drive 7 hours. When signing up with PODS we were told it would be very easy to schedule delivery and that time frame was easy to meet. The reality is not proving true. I am very disappointed that our experience is ending so poorly. read more

Typical bait and switch. You ring them to rent a Pods and the person on the other end is great. They give you lots of information and prices and coupons galore. You go ahead and reserve your Pods and they request a deposit. You give it to them and you receive through email your contract and receipt. Nothing matches what you spoke to the representative about and decided on. You ring customer service and get someone who obviously hates their job and is giving you attitude and ever closer to screaming at you throughout the conversation and absolutely no help. You keep your cool and say you would like to go ahead and cancel the order then. They transfer you over to another person who is also not very nice and they state you will receive your deposit back in a few days. More than a week later you ring them again since you have not gotten the deposit and it is like a different world. You get someone who is friendly and helpful. You finally get your deposit refunded back to your account almost a month after the initial call to Pods. How do they stay in business. I am trying to pack and move, but have decided to just bite the bullet and purchase a steel shipping container. It comes out to about the same it was going to cost me with Pods. read more

Do not use pods. Is it possible to give less than a star? One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Our pod was dropped off with multiple holes in the sides on the middle of a busy road in front of our building blocking traffic. It was then not picked up for a solid week past our pick up date despite us calling every day and being promised every day that it would be picked up the next day. Since it was pouring rain the whole week with holes in the container our stuff was already damaged before they even managed to pick it up. Now it is two days past our delivery date and they can't even confirm where our pod is. The rude attitudes and arguments that I have received from customer service over the past month has been unbelievable. After reading the previous reviews I am terrified about the condition I will receive my items in. Dead mice? Break ins? This is borderline criminal and I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. A complete nightmare. read more

I contracted PODS to move my townhouse household from NC to TX for a new job. They were unable to meet the agreed upon timeline due to inclement weather, but failed to communicate this to me. The automated service was telling me that my POD was in transit and scheduled to be delivered on time despite the POD still being in my driveway. When I finally was able to speak with an actual person, the rep told me that my POD delivery would be expedited to meet the original timeline. But once my POD was picked up they changed my delivery time was pushed back three days, which would be after my new job's starting date. When I aired this grievance with the customer rep, they escalated my complaint and I was assigned a resolution specialist. The specialist did contact me in a timely manner and I relayed my issues to her. When my POD finally arrived it was placed on an inclined surface, though there was a flat space available to deliver the POD. Additionally the POD was positioned in a manner that the door was at the lowest point of the incline. That evening I contacted PODS to see how soon the POD could be repositioned because the door was unable to be opened and my movers were coming the next afternoon to unload my items. That evening I was told to call back in the morning because no drivers were available. I called at the time prescribed the following morning and was told that they would "try" and get back before my movers arrived, but as the arrival time of my movers neared and my calls from PODS continued to go unanswered I realized they would not arrive prior to my movers. During this time I also contacted my resolution rep via phone and email to no avail. At this time PODS also drafted their final payment twice from my account, unauthorized. As well, they had also initiated another unauthorized draft. Prior to my POD's delivery the resolution rep told me that she would be in contact with me by the end of the week. During the whole ordeal with the inability to open my POD's door and having it repositioned I did not receive any responses from her. In fact, I did not hear anything further from her for weeks, despite me calling and emailing her. Therefore, I proceeded with bank to dispute one of the payment draws. Once I was well into that process is when I heard from PODS again. An account from PODS called me and basically tried to bully me into paying PODS in full again before they would initiate issue resolution or they would be filing for a judgement against me. read more

I would never use this company. The original person that I spoke with was wonderful. Everything after that was a nightmare. I had a confirmation email the night before that everything was set up for the following day. The following day after having family coming in from out of state to pack the POD up, two hours before the scheduled delivery (Saturday) they canceled and stated that they had to move it to the following Monday because people had called out and there was no way for it to be delivered. After no apologies and no sorry for you inconvenience, I canceled my order and was advised that my funds would be returned in 3-5 business days. After the 4th day I contacted PODs and advised that my funds were never processed and that I would get a refund in 2-5 business days. I advised that it was unacceptable now to have to wait up to 10 days for my funds to be returned....I was told by the supervisor that the only way I can expedite it is that I will have to go to my bank and request which is completely inconvenient as I work full time. I still at this time am sitting on the phone fighting with them to return my money, and am being given the run around by every person that works in their billing department read more

These people are your best friends and so helpful while trying to sell you this service. Their billing method is incredibly complicated. They charge for dropoff, pickup, travel, storage, etc. When purchasing their service, the rep told me the delivery would need a week at most to deliver at my new residence. When I called, they gave me a 2 1/2 week wait for my PODS to be delivered. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! I contacted the BBB which got my PODS delivered THAT WEEK. I had the PODS emptied within the week they were delivered, but waited 2 1/2 weeks for the last empty one to be picked up. That POD was sitting in front of my garage door preventing me from putting my vehicle inside. Their phone reps (once you have purchased this service) were extremely rude and not helpful. ALL 3 PODS leaked. This service is good if you are moving and cannot get into your new residence for a while. We ended up paying over $8000 for 3 pods for 2 months. VERY expensive as we still had to hire moving men at the pickup location and at our new residence. No bargain and a very big hassle when you are dealing with the hassle of moving and house closings, etc. Customer reps via phone were terrible with attitude. When calling into their 800 number, there are extremely long waits on hold. One positive thing, the guys that deliver the PODS in both locations were very nice and helpful and very experienced in what they do. I do not plan on being in a situation that I would have to use this type of service ever again. Take my advice and find another way. This whole PODS experience gave me an ulcer and plenty of gray hair. If you do encounter problems with them, file online with 1. What ever the price they quote for storage, know that they add $ 50.00 per month to that for insurance.......$50.00 more!!!!. i found out then i viewed my final bill. well........... after the fact. this is the kind of stuff that everyday people just damn hate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! always a different story. read more
