They repeatedly told us it would be cheaper and faster than anything else and promised they would drop it off on the day we got to the new house since they took it in advance at our old house leaving us without any of our furniture which was fine for then. Unfortunately this is where it went very very sour. We got to the new house later than the pods were supposed to and found out instead of dropping them off at the house they decided to literally pass our house and then keep them from us in storage 3 hours away. Now they are telling us they wont even start bringing them until over another week later. My family has three elders that all have knee replacements and bad backs because they are over 70 but we had to buy new mattresses and couldn't afford new frames just for them to sleep on for a week. Not only is our business being stunted because of this but my grandparents are in pain because of sleeping on the floor and not having anything to sit on during the day. Would not recommend this service for anyone Uhaul has been far more convenient and truthful and actually ended up cheaper than this move. read more

PODs customer service puts you on hold for an interminably long time. When you call them to set up a container, they won't give you an actual price estimate until you give them a credit card number. I found it disturbing that they would not give me a ball park number even until I gave them a credit card. Then, they read all the boiler plate BS to you on the phone, as lawyers have ruined commerce in America. Then they bill you "pay as you go" which is really dumb, because they HAVE your items in the POD, captive, hostage... what, you're going to stop the 2nd and 3rd installments before your items arrive? The drivers don't like working for PODs, and all 4 encountered were grumpy and extremely negative. Then they say they "need 24 feet" but they don't tell you which direction the "24 feet" needs to be. It's the length of the truck that their rickety gantry crane has to drive to take it off the truck, onto your driveway or yard, and back to the truck... but that's Never spelled out until the rickety gantry crane arrives with the empty pod. 24 to the front, to the sides, behind it? So the 7x7x10 foot pod I needed took +24 feet of my driveway to drop off. And then the "city permit" gets invoked ... that they CAN'T leave it on the street without a "city permit"... FOR TWO DAYS to load or unload. Ridiculous, overly legal, unpleasantly grumpy, inflexible, vague, arcane, inefficient, won't use them again. read more

DO NOT USE PODS. Wish I could give them zero stars. Moved to Houston yesterday called them before I left Houston and they said that my POD would arrive between 11-2. I got to Houston around 3:30 and to find my POD not there. I called them and they said that my POD could not be delivered. They could not tell me the reason.. there was just a "problem". They couldn't reach anyone to figure out the reason why. In her computer notes it said "please tell customer that POD can not be delivered when customer calls back". HELLO WHY ARNT U CALLING ME FIRST. Why do I have to call pod to find out that the delivery was canceled. This is after my whole family had traveled to Houston and I had arranged for a friend to pick up the couch whom had already arrived to Houston as well. I had literally called them 2 hours before telling me it would be there. I ended up canceling the movers. It was so inconsiderate to give me a 2 hour warning!! AT LEAST A 24 HOUR WARNING SO I DIDNT DRIVE ALL THE WAY YO HOUSTON!!!!!! I am now in Houston stuck with out a bed and ALL MY STUFF. No idea when it's going to get here. All they said over the phone was "we will call you over the next 3 days and let you know when it will be dropped off". This is not how it works people! PODS please get your shit together. Stuck in Houston and had to sleep on a friend's couch last night. I start work Monday and all my work clothes are in the POD. I do not recommend this company to anyone. I would give 0 stars if I could. I used PODS for my move from NC to FL, and will try to condense this long story as short as I can. I initially asked for 1 16' pod, and the man I talked to recommended I reserve a 7.5' "just in case" for no additional charge and if I ended up needing it to let them know. But no, they scheduled it to be delivered to me anyways and charged me $700 for it. Pain in the ass to get it cancelled and to get my money back. Also, I told them I needed empty and full weight tickets so I could be reimbursed by my employer for my mandated move. I didn't get my empty weight ticket until after they delivered my pod to my new place in Florida. So because they screwed up and didn't weigh my pod empty, as I requested, I was not 100% reimbursed by my employer because it was late. I ended up paying right at $3k for one 16' pod, insurance for it, and 2 weight tickets. Not worth the ton of money I spent. And to top it off, you cannot call anyone at the closet pod location to you for any info. You have to talk to someone at their 1 location and cross your fingers they can get your issue resolved remotely from there. Hint, no one resolved any of my issues, and it took them about 3 months to complete thier "costumer resolution investigation". This place has the worst customer service and shittiest response time, both via email and over the phone. I recommend burning all your possessions and claiming insurance before I'd use this company for your moving needs. Lol. Trust me really, any other option is better. read more

Worst customer service! I had a pod delivered to NH, got delivered, was able to fill it, then the door broke. We were told the service of the door would need to be done at drop off. We were told that they would ensure we had a drop off in our new FL home with the first appointment of the day. This did NOT happen. I've had to call 4 times, the first two times I was confirmed to have a 7:30 - 10:30 drop off window. Come to find out they didn't help us, the drop off windows is outside of the available time and nobody cares. They just say, well if you aren't there, then you will have to be rescheduled. I explained that the issue is their product issue not my problem. They don't care. Their customer service reps tell you what you want to hear and then don't help you. Worst experience ever. I will NEVER EVER do business with Pods again, and instead will be sure to tell everyone I know not to even think about Pods as a reliable option. read more

Between February and April, I called the Pod 800 number to discuss my POD. They advised they must contact the location where my POD was stored. I had to call 4 times (POD 800). They said the location (Wilmington MA) was not answering their phone or emails. Finally got an answer after 4 months.... Everyone at POD 800 kept saying I understand your frustration I promise to get back to you with an answer. NEVER HAPPENED. How can a location not answer their phones or emails for 4 months???? They will never accept a damage claim, and delay, delay, delay any response. Yes customer service is poor; they promise to call back; never do. Use with caution... For low value items, sure, use them. Just know that damage occurs because they move all containers so much in the warehouse, there's high chance of damage. Even when tied down, the violent movement will damaged secured items within the containers, so beware! The claims and Risk department are a scam. They have no incentive to admit to damage, and yet their claims system depends on honesty to get any remedies.... perfect scam. read more

Awful company to deal with!! I highly recommend going elsewhere for your moving needs. I have been having billing dispute after billing dispute for over a month, amongst other delivery issues that were a mess to take care of. The company is completely unresponsive to their customers, it is a travesty how we have been treated. The company will just keep racking up unknown charges to your bank account/credit card without explanation. Nobody from the company ever gets back to you, and when you call to reach out and express your concerns, the representatives are unhelpful and do not know how to forward the inquiries to someone who is capable of helping. I will NEVER go with PODS again, nor would I recommend then to anyone! TRUST ME...STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! The convenience may sound nice, but I would rather drive a moving truck across country after the nightmare this company has put my family and I through (and it is still an ongoing dispute where the company owes me quite a chunk of change back). I paid over $2600 for a coast to coast move which was picked up on FEBRUARY 24th and I was promised delivery on MARCH 1st and so far I have been getting the run around. I moved to a new apartment since 3/1 and I have been sleeping on the floor waiting for my stuffs to get here. I had to go to Ikea and spent money on furniture as a result. Every time I called they offered a callback and they never did until I have to call them back again. I spoke to a customer rep (Cindy) on 3/8 and she LIED to me and told me my container arrived over the weekend and it was available for pick up BUT told me NOT to go to the location because they're closing in an hour and said she could not give me their phone number. I drove to that location anyway and I was able to get a phone number, I called the on site manager (Brian) and informed me that my container is not here and showing in transit. I called the next day to confirm and  another representative told me my container was delayed and would be here on 3/9. Then I received another call saying  yet another delay and will be there on 3/10. It's now MARCH 10 and again this morning I received a call stating that my container is still in transit and scheduled to be here on MARCH 12. All they told me so far is that they will offer me $25 CREDIT for the inconvenience (credit to use that horrible service again). I need them to refund me every penny because they did not do anything to deserve to be paid. This is by far the worst service I have ever experience. They keep blaming it on the weather but somehow my vehicle was also shipped by another company TWO DAYS after PODS and my car got here exactly on 3/1 as promised. If I don't receive my full refund I plan on disputing the charge with my credit card because I paid for a service and I did not get anything in return. read more

I used PODS to move from California to Wisconsin. I spent over $4000 in delivery fees, transportation fees and storage fees. I chose PODs with the hope that their customer service would be superior to other companies. However, after my POD was delivered at my address I was given one more additional fee- a repositioning fee. I called customer service to request more information, and they said that this was charged when the driver had to return and move the POD, which had not happened. I opened an incident and after two weeks of radio silence, I was told that the fee was accurate and there was nothing they could do about it. After spending thousands of dollars on this service, they could not resist adding just one more charge for a service I had not requested or received. Save your money and go with a different company with a little more ethical backbone. read more

I would NOT recommend using this service. Moved from Virginia to the Boston metro area. Everything went fine on the Virginia end: driver dropped off and picked up during the specified windows. Redelivery of my container to Boston was horrible. I was told they needed 5 days for transit to Boston but when given 7 days they still couldn't deliver on time. On the day of scheduled delivery, they couldn't even locate my container, never mind deliver it. It took over 24 hours for them to locate it and deliver to my new home. The driver proceeded to drop the container and I hear the entire contents shift inside. Luckily, I had it well packed and nothing irreplaceable broke. Although there was damage (scratches) found on several pieces as it was unloaded. Dealing with customer service during this was a nightmare: long periods of time spent hold (hours) and when using the call-back feature, they never called back. Because the schedule was disrupted by their inability to deliver as scheduled, I had to reschedule the movers I hired to unload twice and incurring rescheduling fees of hundreds of dollars. I highly recommend that no one use this service. This has been the most frustrating and disappointing experience during the whole moving process. While it's easy to get them to pick up your packed storage pod, getting your belongings back is the hard part. Despite scheduling delivery service in a timely manner, the pod did not arrive on the scheduled day or during the delivery time frame provided. The delivery driver called to notify us he was 1 hour away but never delivered the pod. It's now been 3 days and customer service has been unable to do anything to rectify the situation. We still have no idea when the pod will arrive. They can't reach the storage facility they claim is housing the pod to get any information regarding what happened or when we can expect delivery. This is completely unacceptable! Stay far away from this company! Had I seen these reviews before booking, I never would have moved forward with this company. I was feeling confident using them for our move overseas because USAA recommended them. We are on a tight time schedule but they assured us it would get to our new place on May 6th. We get an email informing us there was a cancellation of our pod port location and we wouldn't get our pod delivered until MAY 24th!!!! We will already be there for three weeks and planned our move around the timing of our stuff arriving as we were told. They currently have our pod who knows where and we have no other option to get it there sooner. We feel incredibly deceived and frustrated. When I first called to get my estimate to use PODS, the customer service was wonderful and the pricing was great, so I went with them for my move from New Orleans to Atlanta. Its been 3 months and I am now settled and called to get my POD delivered to my new house. All of a sudden things are very different. The customer service with each person I've spoken to since my initial call has been awful, terrible customer service, to the point of rude and unprofessional. The pricing has now tripled to get my POD delivered. Now I understand quotes are only good for so long, but had I known the price could jump that much, then I would have just paid for the full move of my POD to Atlanta and had it stored up here, not still in New Orleans. Additionally, they have added on 2 additional charges that I was not quoted the first time, or when I called last month just to get an idea of what it would end up costing. Also, the turnaround time was initially 3-5 days, now I am being told a minimum of 7-10 days. Its like my stuff is being held hostage and I have no recourse than to abide! I would not use PODS again, and if you do, get your initial quote and pay for it all upfront because your price is going to sky rocket once they have your belongings in their possession. read more

PODS completely messed up the permits at my delivery location! I paid them and was told by them I was not able to get the permit myself, that they would get the permit in CO. I handled the permit in DC and it went off without a hitch! Now the POD is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and there is no place for it to go! When I call to check in, I'm now told there is no permit and I just have to clear three spaces on the street! I was on hold 40 minutes to hear that they messed up the permit situation and decided not to share an update with me or to let me know there was no permit (for whatever reason?? I'm not totally unclear on why there is no permit though the city does require it??) and now have been on hold for 20 minutes to apparently speak with a supervisor. Then the customer service person came back on and told me the wait to speak with a supervisor was hours long and she could not wait! This is beyond ridiculous and I have no idea how my things will arrive now, if I'll have to cancel the movers I have scheduled, if I'll be fined by the city, etc. Way to go PODS. Taking something like moving that is already stressful and messing it up beyond belief then making me wait for over 1.5 hours and counting to see how you plan to attempt to resolve this! I'm writing this review to help prevent a moving disaster. I ordered a POD since I had to move from my townhouse and I didn't have a place that I could move into right away. Delivery day came, they charged me the full amount. No problem. The next day I go to move items in the POD, except it's too small for what I actually needed. I call customer service and request an immediate pick up and hire a moving company. I was told I'd get a full refund within 7 business days. Well, we've past the deadline of the refund and after calling, literally every week and no response from the "incident" department. I call back and demand for an answer, met with "Oh, I'm sorry I can't do that, it's not my department". I would not recommend this company for anything to anyone! Absolutely the worst! read more

Nightmare experience with PODS. I contacted them for my elderly aunt to get her moved from Denver to Ft Collins. I didn't have an exact address but was told they would just fill that in when we were ready to move. The next month I called with the new address and they said they didn't deliver. I had everything lined up and had to cancel, and incur about $1000 in extra charges setting up a new company to go unload the pod and move the items. When I submitted a complaint I was sent an email saying she would follow up with a resolution. I never heard back and they just charged me again! When I called accounting they said they were not associated with the corporate dispute office. I explained my frustrations with the initial booking since he did not tell me they had areas of the city they didn't deliver to, and caused a lot of additional charges. She said they are also not associated with the sales department. Seems like one company but they do not work together, and they do not take responsibility, yet they place blame on every other department. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

Update review to follow. But I am pushed to write this review for a couple reasons. I moved from one coast to the other and at the start of my order, requested that the container be picked up and transported to the warehouse near my new home. And expected the container (as explained by the customer representative) in about 8-10 business days. I moved to my new home, and was patiently waiting for my container delivery. I called around day 10 to check the status of my container and discovered that the container had not even left the original post!!!! The staff was apologetic. We come up with another delivery, with the delivery to occur in a weeks time. In attempts to "fix" the situation, staff tried to get my container to arrive a day earlier than planned, in 6 days (fine). My online account says my delivery is to occur on a certain day. I call the corporate office the day before to confirm container delivery, and again surprised to find that I am not on the route schedule for container delivery. GREAT!!! -also checking the other reviews, did not know here was a huge rat problem. Did not know reviews were so horrible. Will add an updated review upon pod delivery. UPDATE: container was set to deliver today between 1030-130. It's 2:30 now and NO CONTAINER!! Called them, no one has any idea what is doing on. I will never be using this service again!!!!!!!! And will also discourage family/friends from using them in the future as well. read more

POD was supposed to be delivered between 10:30am-1:30pm on 5/24. After 5 or more phone calls to customer service throughout the day, it's 10:35pm and still no POD with movers showing up at 8:00am tomorrow. What's most frustrating is the complete and utter lack of logistical insight by the customer service team. They are nice but unable to help on any level other than to tell you that they have contacted the manager of the local facility and he ensures us that the delivery will happen today. The driver never called. The manager never called. Easily one of the worst operationally run businesses I've ever dealt with. It's clear they don't want to ever give you contact to the actual people responsible for the work because they are incompetent. I hate leaving these reviews but I guarantee you PODs will do NOTHING to rectify this situation except apologize on yelp and say they will look into to the matter which will be a complete lie. Do not use this company. Pay the extra $ to ensure you are dealing with professionals UPDATE: since I can't add a new post or respond to the PODs post below, I will add my feedback here. Sir, you are full of it. Please stop pretending. I will not waste one more minute calling your customer service or sending you a private message to hide your ineptitude. Your goal is to steal from people. You are running an illegal operation business (no doubt) and are using the 'moving' situation as a front. In the beginning, customer service was ok, although almost impossible to get to without 10-15 minute hold or MORE. Then came moving day, they didn't show up. I went on the website night before and saw that my pick up did not show scheduled. OF course no one was available until next morning, where they tell me that I never scheduled it and I...yes I... should have checked the website to make sure that the pick up order I called ,in scheduled and confirmed was actually on the website...so there it starts, checking their homework....after almost an hour of begging to get a supervisor to call me back, someone unearthered the records and found that they were due for pick up , so they showed up 30 minutes later, That was Dec. My container charges with move totalled $4,454.89 for the loading time and move, now 5 months and another $ 1,275 (new total $5,729.00 , I call and tell them I am stuck with for another 4-6 months and would like to know if they can give me a break of maybe $50 a month, since local storage here is so much less, just to reduce the hassle of transferring ( so new total would be $6,749 - $7,269, and I am told UNCONDITIONALLY there is nothing I can do because prices are up and I'm already receiving a $50 discount for 3 mos + storage, which is really not much of a discount, since, at the time while business was slow they were offering an internet discount of $50/mo for ALL customers. As an existing customer, they do NOTHING to keep you satisfied or maintain your business, I had to go to 3 people to get to a Supervisor or Manager and still never got a Customer Service Manager, a Sales Manager of some sort named JOHN FERGUSON finally got on the line to STRAIGHTEN me out and let me know they would be doing nothing for my on my LONG extended storage, since their monthly rates were going up, REALLY, I say, even considering how much I have already spent and IMMEDIATELY he tells (In a surly tone) me he can SURELY schedule me to have my Pod delivered right now. I tell him customer service doesn't end after you've collected someone's money and that his tone and actions were totally unacceptable. THIS is not the last they will hear from me. They do NOT know how to TREAT customers. Especially after they've collected their money. BASED on company reviews I've seen on Glass Door from their employees, I can see they are not treated much better than customers. I just wanted to write a quick update. So to add to my experience with PODs, my container was not dropped off on the scheduled day. I moved into a new house and didn't have my things. Not only that but I never received a call from anyone letting me know that there was an issue with my container and they couldn't deliver it. I was on the phone with a rep for over 3 hours that night and he refused to tell me what was going on. He redirected my question each time. He told me he had taken care of it and it would be delivered the next business day which was 2 days from then. Seeing that I had to work that day, I needed to find a way to get my container delivered earlier. I didn't trust what he told me so I drove up to the location myself and talked with the manager. He told me there was no container number on my account so he couldn't deliver it. However, when he looked a bit closer, he was able to find it and he delivered it himself that day. Had I not gone up there, I don't think I would have received my container anytime soon. I am in contact with someone now about getting compensation but it has taken months to do. I am very disappointed in the PODS company. They gave me a quote on April 10, 2010 for $3654.86 to move 3 storage containers from Los Angeles to Albuquerque. The representative, William, stressed that this was a bargain since my previous 2-container quote was $3632.66. It seemed like a good deal to me, so I booked it and loaded up one of the containers. They sent me an order information e-mail, which totalled $3614.81. On July 9, 2010 I called PODS back to ask about changing a few things. Joyce started by telling me that we were going to owe $5141.00 in total (before any changes). I told her that my quote was for $3654.86. She had no record of that. She filed an incident report and told me that someone from Platinum Services would contact me within 48 hours. She said that this department worked through the weekend. July 14th rolled around and no one had called me. I called PODS again and was told that someone would call me by the end of the day. The morning of July 15th, I called PODS again because they never called me. This time I transferred to the cancellation department and got someone who at least tried to help me. Tanya told me that my current total was $5677 (which is higher still from what I was told last week). She got it down to $3977.44 with the hope of changing my mind. At this point it is apparent to me that PODS will change my total whenever they feel like it, so I cancelled my order. I was told that the deposit that I already gave ($333.64) would not be refunded to me. I was transferred to the billing department to dispute the charges. Melissa from "Platinum Services" was no help. She confirmed that they would not refund my deposit. She said that I would have had to cancel my order within 48 hours of receiving the first container to get a refund. I told her that I didn't know that they were refusing to honor my $3654 quote until last week. I never would have chosen PODS if I had been given a $5000 quote. She said that she thought the $3654 quote was for 2 large containers only. I told her that if they reviewed the phone recordings, she will find that William told me the quote was for 3 containers. She basically told me that they would not refund my deposit even if they were at fault. My experience with PODS has shown me that the representatives who quote prices are pushy. I feel that they deliberately misled me but it is possible that they made a mistake. Either way, they are not willing to compensate by refunding my deposit. I have already paid 2 months of rent for the storage of one container. The monthly rental prices are high ($125/month for a 7 foot container), and I feel that keeping my deposit is outrageous. When people are in the midst of moving, who has time to deal with this? read more

I called a week out to have a POD delivered on Saturday which was fine and everything looked good. Movers came in and placed everything in the POD and were scheduled for a pick up that following Monday. Mind you this was all scheduled. Monday comes around and the time is between 1230 and 2 no one picks it. Something went wrong?? I don't know because they didn't call to inform us with any information. The home has been sold and it's the pod is sitting in now someone else's driveway. It is now Wednesday and they still haven't picked up the pod that is in front of someone else's house now and they refuse to help me out and give the run around saying that they are busy and the warehouse isn't picking up. They emailed but what good is that if they don't even pick up the phone. I'm super stressed about it because they won't follow up and give me a straight answer. I agree with other reviewers. If I could give it a negative rating I would. One hour and fifteen minutes waiting for them to explain why the POD did not arrive at the 7:30 AM to 1030 AM window as promised in an email the promised the day before. What was their answer?: 1) management decided to not call the Castroville facility in California to explain why they didn't arrive as promised and then said the new window is 1:45 to 4:45. 2) Despite having this email from them the night before promising the early delivery their attitude now is that they're busy and they don't have to tell why they didn't notify me about the delay. 3) They have no ability for a customer to talk to a manager at PODS and in fact they have to fill out a fill form to get approval for me to talk to someone higher up. It was interesting to find out most of their people work from home which is why they use email to communicate with their supervisors. This is what America has come to no service and stick to the customer. Well next time they tell that working from doesn't affect productively they are lying to you. This company is completely fraudulent. In my entire life, I have never experienced worse customer service. This specific location has erroneously billed by card for unauthorized transactions. I have contested with my credit card and been awarded credit and yet they STILL charged me again, a month later. I don't even have an account with them anymore. Stay away from this horrible company. Not to mention that they dropped our pod off in the worst possible location down a hill from our house because they claimed the driveway was inaccessible, even though the pod was delivered there before. read more

Where to start! So we had our pod delivered to our new home and when we had to schedule a pick up it was two weeks until they could pick it up. We called them and told them we are getting a city sidewalk at the end of the week is there any chance that the pod could be picked up before then. We were told no the driver will have to figure it out when he gets there. So pick up day comes the driver gets here and we only have a city sidewalk and gravel so the driver and asks my husband to move a car, my husband gets his keys and the driver said he's not driving over the side walk and drove off. This guy didn't even try to get the pod just left. So we called customer service FOUR TIMES because they kept disconnecting our phone call and not one person tried calling me back or anything! They were telling us well we can come get it for another 2 week which is completely unacceptable. Finally talked to a supervisor and they sent someone out within the hour to get it pick up. The driver was awesome if I could give him 5 stars I would. He found a way to get the pod out of our drive way with some effort. They were able to pick it up that same day which we are thankful for but it could have been resolved in a better way. read more

This is a review of their national customer non-service. The company has protected itself supremely from interaction with its customers. I found it impossible to have any meaningful communication with the firm about the delivery time of my POD, which made moving scheduling difficult. I almost admire the patina of service they project on their voice mail and website. Actual customer service from humans? Look elsewhere. read more

I do not like to post negative reviews, but my experience with PODS was simply awful. In an attempt to resolve it internally with their resolution team, I called and spoke to them. About a month ago, I got an email from someone in that department (Nikki Smith) saying she was going to look into the matter for me and I would hear back soon. I have heard nothing since then. In short, my move ended up costing me more than twice what I had expected and I had to do it in two moves because of misinformation about pod capacity provided by their service representatives. I had to store half of my stuff in a friend's garage at the last minute. It was a nightmare the day of the move and rush to find a place to move my stuff because the sale of my house was closing in 2 days. That was my initial reason for escalating my concern (and I've yet to hear back). Then I was told the rent for my second month of storage would be automatically refunded because the pick up of the container would be within the 5 day grace period. Well, that did not happen either. This has been the worst example of sales, service and billing I have ever encountered and I'm beyond disappointed. I wish I could give a zero-star review. I just got off the phone with someone named James at the PODS company to get a quote (their website is so low-tech that they force you to call in with additional information and have to talk to one of their sales people... really? You guys can't do what MoveBuilder does and have cubic footage estimators built into your site?). James was one of the most arrogant, rude people with whom I've ever attempted to do business... he beautifully portrayed the same ridiculous elitist attitude that's running rampant at too many companies these days. Through all of his meaningless babbling and mumbling about availability and "this is the cheapest time of year to move, so we may not have availability, blah blah blah," I finally got a quote that was over $3k higher than UHaul/UPack and MoveBuilder. Once I told him this, he had no reason as to why their price was so much higher and rushed me off the phone. You're right, James - there's no reason to pursue doing further business and yes, you have wasted my time. Safe to say, I personally will never do business with PODS. What a joke. read more

I had a need to load heavy items and could not use a ramp so I had to use PODS. Unless I had a similar, very pressing need such as this again, I would not use PODS or any similar service. Upack is now my 'go to' transporter. PODS is very expensive for what you get in return and they have fairly severe weight limitations and a rather small load capacity within the 16 foot PODS. I do not recall being told originally that I needed to schedule pickup of my loaded PODS either when my order was placed OR with 2+ weeks notice. This is just ridiculous and unacceptable...especially at the prices they charge. I would not use them again unless I had no other choice. SCAMMING is not the word...again they have not picked up my pods which were schedule to be picked up two weeks ago and now I see anther $400 charge...DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY or you will LOSE BIG. I am now filing a law suit and BBB complaint. This is beyond a scamming company and no one has a clue what they are doing unless of course they have your bank information and they will remove all your funds. After reading the reviews I expected problems but The receptionist was very nice and got my POD number for me. The forklift driver was great and went the extra mile to help us out when we couldn't open the POD storage door. The area is pretty safe too. read more

We moved from California to Colorado and stored our PODS for 4 months. Just unloaded yesterday and every single thing was in perfect shape! I was worried because we are amateur loaders. Delivery and pick up is spot on! The customer service is excellent! The drivers are professional and helpful. Oh, and half the price of other moving options. I am never moving again but if I were, it would definitely be with PODS. Thank you POD people. read more

I booked pods before about twelve years ago with no issues. They are as most state, a company with knowledgeable staff friendly and somewhat professional. My 1 star rating is for the optional insurance policy and the reason I canceled. READ the exclusion clause this means you are paying for a policy that they can denied based on this exclusion clause. I find this dishonest, even though when placing the order I was told that they never have a problem with paying claims; in fact I was told by the representative that they pay claims without even verifying them.(lol) You can take a chance and hope you suffer zero damage but if you have any breakage or damage they can basically denied based on this clause. read more
