I am beyond disappointed with my PODS experience. It is bordering on false advertising. The POD that was delivered to my home did not look like the unit on the site or on Instagram. It was filthy, and worse, had insulation stuffed into holes in the laminate roof. I immediately called customer service and was told someone would come out and assess the POD for a swap the next day - no one ever came. I had no choice but to pack this POD for the day I had moving help and call customer service again. They told me they were sorry I was delivered an older model that would be retired soon, and that they could swap the POD but that would be a cost up front that could be reimbursed. Then why charge it at all? I requested that they pay for the labor to move the contents of one pod to the next and they said that would also be considered for reimbursement. I'm sorry, I am not paying $700 for labor if it is not guaranteed to be reimbursed. This is your fault PODS. Not mine. This is poor quality control on your part. Now I have my belongings in your facility, with content protection that does not even cover the mold and mildew I am concerned about due to your poor insulation. I am now waiting on someone to call me from the escalation dept. and luckily I have my lawyer on standby. This is just unacceptable. False advertising, terrible customer service and no ownership of their mistake or fair solution. Oh and to top it all off, the delivery of the pod and the pick up of the pod was not even within the three hours they allotted. They were late each time without as much as a phone call as a heads up. Do not use this company! Not if you don't want to be at their mercy and have your stuff stranded. we ordered a container and was delivered without issue. The nightmare started when we tried to have the container picked up and moved to our new address. TWICE they shamelessly wiped the delivery date from the system and when you call customer service they only "solution" they offer is to schedule the move for the next available date. Which is usually 3 or 4 days out. We did that after our first schedule was deleted. THEY did the next schedule. The day before we call to know the delivery window and it was wiped out. Like it never even existed. Now they are offering another date which is 4 days out...if you can even trust them to keep them this time. They did not deliver my pod and I have had to make two complaints, I have been blown off and ignored and still had to pay $329 even though they couldn't deliver because of the drivers discretion. I had to rent a uhaul and unload the pod And load the uhaul the day my pod was supposed To be delivered. And even though I have proof, it could have been delivered, I have been told there was nothing they can do because it is up to the drivers discretion. read more

Everything was fine delivering and picking up but when it came time to schedule the pick up the next available time for them to pick up was a day after the monthly rental was due. They charged me for an full month more even thought THEY were the reason it couldn't be picked up sooner. Rip Off! I will never use these con- artists again. read more

They love to keep your pods so they can bill you another month - be careful. They keep on charging with the autopay and then you have to fight for your money back. I had to keep my debit account nearly empty so they couldn't suck the money out. Then they say they will investigate, but every time they just say they investigated and I lost. On February 15, 2019, I reserved a 16' POD container for delivery at my Chestnut Hill, MA address on April 26, 2019. As of yesterday, 4/25, the delivery 3 hour time window was 12:45-3:45 pm. Because the parking area in back of my townhouse is confusing to get to based on the actual address of the house, I confirmed with the office this morning, that the driver would call me before heading over so I could explain how to get to the parking area. The office confirmed this with me, confirmed my phone number, etc. The rental management office issued a 2 night PODS parking authorization sign for me which would be affixed to the container. At 4:45, I called to find out if there was an update on the ETA and they told me that there was a delay, but that I was the next stop for the driver. At 7:05 pm, I got a call from someone -- not clear if it was the driver or the office -- telling me that they were "not allowed entry" into Chestnut Hill with a big truck. I said that is ridiculous, Chestnut Hill is a town, of course trucks are allowed. He said he was told by "corporate" in Norwood that the only way I could maintain my POD order was to somehow get my stuff to them in Norwood. Impossible of course; if I had a vehicle large enough to pack my stuff, I would move myself. The man said there was no other way and that we would need to cancel the order. I called the office and spoke to a very snarky woman who told me that there is an ordinance against large trucks on my particular street, and that I received a call so what's the problem. I explained to that I could've directed the driver to the parking area and avoid the street altogether, but he never said it was my street, he said "Chestnut Hill." She said "you must live in a gated community and he wasn't allowed entry." I assured her not only is it not a gated property, but that they work with PODS on a regular basis, there are PODS here all the time. She said since the order is already canceled I'm out of luck, and my money will be refunded. I began to panic, and I asked her, "what am I supposed to do -- three guys from Moving Staffers are coming here tomorrow to load up the container -- I have to move by 4/30, can I get a container tomorrow?" She said they had no available containers, there's nothing else she can do, thank you, goodbye. So here I sit, 9 pm, in my completely packed up apartment, it's after hours so I can't even start making calls to figure out how/when/who until morning. I'm really pissed off. I think PODS should pay for my move, once that is scheduled with another company. I plan to call their corporate headquarters as well as file a formal complaint with the attorney general's office. read more

I wish I could give a NEGATIVE STARS REVIEW. This experience has been hellish and wasted a good chunk of my savings. I asked for my pod to be stored in IL, and they instead moved my pod to Minneapolis. I didn't know this initially, and called in dec 2021 to have it delivered to my new home in IL, only to find out it was moved to MN. They started a 'case' to resolve this, which they have an incident number for. I've been calling every 2 weeks and emailing multiple times since December, trying to get an update, the agent working on my case has done nothing. It's now April 2022. She did email once (after I escalated the incident to a manager), to say she would review my case on feb 25th. I heard nothing back about the result until today, they said they reviewed my phone calls and determined that I did agree to have it sent to MN. WHAT??? NO I didn't. I know what I said, store it in IL. So now apparently I have to pay $850 to have my pod moved back to IL, AND I've paid roughly $270 each month for the time I was waiting and waiting for them to address the issue. I'm now waiting for a manager to call back, as I've requested to hear the initial phone call to order the pod. I'm going to have my attorney work on this, as what they've done is fraud. My savings are drained. I am beyond pissed. This company is horrible, please use a company called Pack Rat, I had a great experience with them, 2 pods and no issues. PODS does nothing but steal your money and rip you off. I give them zero stars, negative if I could, absolutely horrendous company. read more

After reading so many terrible reviews I thought I should chime in after my very good experience. I was moving from Pittsburgh to Boston but needed to store all my stuff for an unknown number of months while traveling and ultimately searching for a home to buy. PODS delivered the unit as scheduled, was flexible on the dropoff and pickup dates, and we even had access to the POD when we called a day in advance once it was in storage. We moved to one of the busiest streets in Boston but they helped us figure out how to get a moving permit with the city and delivered the POD again with no issues. Our stuff was fine after being moved 600 miles and being stored for 4 months [both in hot and cold (August-January)]. We had no damage but I imagine that has a lot to do with how you pack. Ratchet straps are probably worth your while. I would do it again if I ever have to move and store at the same time. read more

Terrible company. They did a no show today after we paid $800. No notice, no call. No way to get ahold of customer service. So I called sales, who also had a hard time finding anyone. Then mixed stories from the driver. Not worth my time to go through the whole list of them. But they landed on the road being too narrow - even tho all sorts of large trucks get through. So their "solution" was for us to drive our stuff to one of their centers about an hour away! In general - they seem poorly trained, give inconsistent information, and are hard to contact. I cannot seem to get a straight answer on anything when I contact PODS. Everytime I call I have to wait with annoying hold music to talk to someone only to be told they can't help me and I need to be transferred to another department to wait with annoying hold music again and be told they cant help me. It's like Dante's outer circle. They give you the run around and no one follows up or actually cares about helping you. Everytime I call I get a different answer on everything I feel like I'm on a game show to measure the capacity of human frustration. In addition to wasting hours upon hours of my life with their hopelessly incompetent "Customer Service" team, my main beef with PODS is a financial one. HOLY HIDDEN CHARGES BATMAN. When quoted the amount it would cost for my cross country move they quoted me the pre-tax amount. They also failed to disclose that I would be charged 2, yes 2! whole months of storage at $205 apiece for using the POD for 13 days, because the days spanned two different months and they don't prorate as a policy. I bet they dont. So I've now paid over $600 more than what I was quoted between the unmentioned tax and the 2 months (for 13 days) storage. They are now saying that they will not deliver the POD unless I pay an additional $180 delivery fee, also, never disclosed to me. (see a theme here?) I am moving to an urban city and have had to acquire special and expensive moving permits (that I had to go to City Hall for!) for my specific move dates and have hired movers on the most moving active day of the whole year. They essentially held my property hostage and said they just "wont show up" if I don't pay them the $180 fee (somehow not included in the $2400 I already paid to move the POD) That is extortion!! I think it is DISGRACEFUL to treat the customers that have chosen to do business with you in this way, gouging them, giving them the run around and holding their property hostage. PODS is a disorganized, greedy corporation that doesn't care about their customers in the slightest. On top of the profound stress of a cross country move, I have this to deal with?! From a company I have already paid thousands of dollars to? SHAME ON YOU PODS for making my move a living hell. I wouldn't recommend you to my worst enemy. read more

I decided to use PODS for a long distance move from Mississippi to Wisconsin after both friends and a family member had had good experiences with the company. Because I was moving to a smaller town, I knew that I would need to rent a U-HAUL once my pod reached Madison, WI, because PODS does not provide delivery service to my new location. I arrived in town December 1 and was expecting to have my belongings by December 6th as I was told my pod would be in Madison by December 5th. These dates were critical considering I began a new job on December 9th that I cannot take off time for. I went ahead and coordinated with friends and reserved a UHAUL to prepare for the final stages of my move. Drop-off and pick-up went without a hitch. However, as checked my pod's status on December 5th, it was still saying that it was in transit. When I called customer service, I was told that this move is a 7 day route. When I said I was told that it would be here on the 5th, all the customer service worker reiterated was that the route takes 7 days and could otherwise not account for why my pod was late to begin with. Other phone calls followed. I have been in contact with conflict resolution since the 6th and was told I would hear back in 2 business days. However, 1) my pod did not arrive in Madison until Wednesday, December 11 and 2) I did not hear back from PODS until today. While initially they told me that they would resolve the conflict by delivering my pod to my house, I now received an email saying it could take up to 30 days to resolve. I am a nurse working night shift with no control over my schedule currently as a new employee. I currently do not have the time or ability to pick up my belongings in Madison via UHAUL (both because of my job and the fact the friends I originally coordinated with also work). I can't really go without my belongings a month while I wait for PODS to decide whether they will honor their word or not. I have already had to spend several hundred dollars I was not expecting on new scrubs, towels, clothes, cleaning supplies, and other necessities I was not anticipating needing because I was not expecting to be without my things. I regret using PODS for my move and cannot recommend them to anyone. So far my new employers have been understanding about my limited wardrobe and ability to complete required paperwork at home. My situation has cost PODS many potential customers as I share my experience. Update 12/14/2019 6:34pm: Despite PODS working towards a resolution the past week and reaching out to me yesterday after I posted this review, I have not heard from them further. I would think that something would have been accomplished not only in the past week, but in the past 24 hrs considering only took them a couple of hours to initially reach out to me via a public comment once I posted this. I'm sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes that I am not privy to, but this whole situation is significantly impacting my life and my ability to provide excellent care to this country's veterans. Update 12/16 10:35 pm: I have not received any further word from PODS and am increasingly unhappy with their customer service and conflict resolution, especially since I was told over a week ago they would deliver the pod to my door. read more

I will say that PODS doesn't even deserve one star. Our experience was unbelievable. The right hand never know what the left was doing and the phone service was absolutely horrid. Hold times were exasperating! But since PODS is so concerned about COVID, all employees were working from home. Sheesh, so was while I was waiting for your employee to answer the phone. We rented (2) 16' PODS. The second POD was delivered by a guy that was "stoned!" It took him 2 hours and 20 minutes to get the POD off of his truck. All the neighbors were watching and laughing. Our stuff was delivered a week late - we had to live in hotel waiting for it, customer service refuses to listen or return phone calls. They charged us more than their original quote and refuse to compensate us in anyway. Their tag line is making moving easy - they made our move immensely more complicated. Not a good experience. We scheduled a drop off of a POD for the day of our move. They told us they would charge our card the night before and deliver the next day. They said they would only charge for the amount of the container drop off and would charge again before the next pick up and delivery. They said it was "pay as you go." Well, the night before delivery they sent me an email that our POD delivery was cancelled per MY request. What?? I called customer service and they told me it was cancelled because my card was declined. I asked how much they were trying to charge my card and she replied $289, which was the FULL amount of the whole move, not pay as you go at all. I was told the first charge would be $129. When I told her this, she just said, "Oh, well they tried the whole amount." I said, "Well let me give you a different card because I need this delivered tomorrow for sure, and I'm not going to argue with you." She then said "Oh, well we can't deliver tomorrow now...your order was cancelled for non-payment." "What??? I have to have this tomorrow!! Take my payment and deliver it." "Tommorrow is out of the question. It can't happen. Your local PODS is closed for the night now." "Lady, do you understand that you guys cancelled my reservation because YOU charged me way more than you said you were going to so the card didn't go through? That's your fault." Worst Moving Company I have ever used. My husband called to set up a POD to be delivered to our townhome. When they arrived to drop the POD, the driver refused to drop it stating he did not have enough clearance (even though we measured and it met the requirements) the guy was very rude and told me he only had 15 minutes per drop and my time was running out. We had to rent a Uhual and drive to the POD location. We received a quote of 2100 to ship from Seattle Washington to Lansing Michigan. We were actually charged 2800. When my husband called they only refunded half of the discrepancy. Every single time we called my husband was given a different answer. I will NEVER use them again and will be reporting them to the BBB. read more

We decided to use PODS for our move from Maryland to South Carolina because we could not afford to hire a moving company. They delivered the POD on time, we filled it up, they picked it up on the scheduled day, and they delivered our POD at our new home, and the driver helped us open the door when our Big Green Egg shifted a little (we did try to contain it, but it's a Big Green, ridiculously heavy smoker that I got for my husband upon his military retirement). We had contact with three drivers and they were all wonderful to us, professional and willing to chat a bit about how to pack a POD. The only one who gave us a card for the purpose of a review was Dennis Osburn, but the last one was Ron, and they were all professional. What was even more wonderful is that we suffered no injuries to our furniture at all. We were warned by moving companies about using a POD, but I'm happy to say that they were wrong. PODS made it possible for us to bring our stuff for maybe a third of what the movers were asking. Thanks, PODS! read more

The Charlotte Steele Creek PODS location is despicable. I had to request access to my items 3 days in advance (first unacceptable concern) because I called on a Saturday to request access. When I get there only 1 of my 3 PODS were made available. I was then told that it was not convenient for them to provide me access to the other 2 PODS and to "come back tomorrow". This has been the worst experience that began with the PODS guy destroying my yard with their trailer. read more

Fernando stated it was his 2nd day on this new part-time job for him, he should not be a mover/packer if not able to fulfill position. Presently in dispute of full charge amount. Beware! UPDATE: After posting my experience with PODS someone at PODS responded and asked me to send them "a personal message" and they would get back to me -- only they didn't explain how to contact them. I called the number on their website (There actually isn't a specific "Customer Service" number listed on their site, just a general phone number for sales). The individual that answered the phone was very polite, but couldn't really help me, nor provide me with a phone number or name of anyone in Corporate who is responsible for attending to customers calling with issues. I was told to call the general number on the website in the morning and they would "try" to connect me with someone who may be able to assist me. PODS CORPORATE...If you really want to help - list your phone number and at least a first name for a point of contact to enable a customer to contact you. If you'd like some advice on how to significantly improve your company's image regarding customer service - please reach out to me - I have plenty of ideas! At that time I was told that they no longer service the zip code of my destination (20 miles from Fredericksburg, VA and about 50 miles from Richmond). I was not happy about them changing the area of service, after already providing with a confirmed quote. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he spent 20 minutes saying that he was sorry about the mix up, that someone had not updated the service area that included that zip code, but there wasn't anything that he could do about it. I asked to be put in touch with his boss or someone in Customer Service, he said that is was PODS policy to not escalate issues beyond the Sales Supervisor level. Since my move out day was the next day I was stuck and had to move truck loads to a relatives garage instead. I was told I'd have my refund in 5-7 days its now 9 days later and when I called to check on it they acted like they did nothing wrong and I should now see it in 3-5 days. The company does not even deserve another five minutes of my time after spending so much time already. They have charged my bank account for a full month after my container was dropped off and emptied on 8/12 more than a week before my deadline of Aug 20. I have called twice inquiring about when the pickup of the empty container and was told there is no availability in my city as they are very busy. The representative specifically mentioned i will certainty not be charged for any additional days and she even sent an email to a manager from local office requesting a credit for the time i have already paid but not used the container. it turned out, the manager has never responded to the request, the incident report was not reviewed and i had to start all over again asking for a credit today. The first representative was more annoying than the issue i was dealing with, she transferred me to another dept...I asked for manager who didn't really do anything and transferred me to another dept.. i finally got the fourth representative Corinne or Corrina (don't know how to spell her name). By that time i was irritated, but she was able to listen, understand my concerns and got the approval from her management team to issued a credit for the full amount. She was very understanding and provided the customer service i was hoping i would get the first time. So, although the issue was resolved due to me insisting in getting the fair share of credit back, i am extremely disappointing in the company as a whole, that is why the 2 stars. I was i guess lucky to finally get someone on the phone after an hour that knew what she was doing but i feel i should have not had to go through endless holds and bad customer service to get what i called an unauthorized charge. read more

The worst company that I have ever worked with! I am a very patient guy but I lost my cool spending 5 hours on phone with PODS for delivery and then pick up. I called them more than 10 times and they still failed to deliver my container on time. the container pick up was way worse, their driver could not find the container that they had delivered to me! the communication between the corporate and local offices is so poor that your message will never get to the local office. WARNING!!! Do NOT use PODS!!! Horrible experience..we sold our home and had to do work on our new home before we could move in, hence we put belongings into 2 separate PODS. We went to get a few items out of one of the PODs and were met with THOUSANDS of RAT/MOUSE DROPPINGS everywhere! The entire 16' POD is covered in droppings (see pics). When we immediately brought it to their attn, they quickly stated their insurance does NOT cover any sort of pest control. WHAT?!?!? Why get the insurance then??? This is appalling and downright misleading. I could've stored our belongings at any other storage facility that has pest control for less!! I am contemplating reaching out to CBS2 News & Health Dept. I'll have them go with me to see for themselves & expose the horrendous goings-on at PODS. I will always speak badly of them and let everyone know not to use their service! read more

I was going to give your company 5 stars based on the pick-up but the unexpected expense and inconvenience of having to hire a moving company is huge. You could charge $500 to anywhere within a 50 or 60 mile radius from Des Moines and $10 a mile after that. I'd be willing to pay an extra $200 or $300. You're missing an opportunity for more revenue, and you're providing poor customer service. You simply state this is the rule, like the sky is blue and there's nothing anyone can do about it. You even state on your procedures that you don't ship to certain zip codes unless another pricing module is used. I asked the rep about this alternative pricing and she said there's nobody she could connect me with that I could talk to about it. Doing damage control on the back-end is not going to save this business from going down. Too bad. Another company will no doubt take this concept and be able to execute from start to finish. read more

This is a follow up to my original PODS review. When I wrote my review I never expected I would be contacted by the cooperate company. I figure this was a really good sign to at least address some of the policy concerns I had and most importantly reiterate the experience I had with my move. I spent a good 20 minutes on the phone with one of the Pod Execs which the hope that they would consider some policy changes. I never asked for money or a refund but simply want to know that they could communicate expectations with their customers. For example I learned that not all POD locations are manned by people.. Some many have a little as one person. Information like this would be helpful for customers to know. Supposedly also when you go to a PODs site to load, evidently you are allowed to pick whatever container. So in the event they fail to assign a container and it isn't reflect in your PODS account you can just simply pick one. ( I am not entirely comfortable with that myself).. Anyhow back to the phone call. So some of it was corporate babble and some of it seemed genuine but I was offered a $100 discount but there was a MAJOR STRING attached to it. I had to sign some legal document and the terms made me very uncomfortable. This document was very unfortunate. Between the phone call and reading the document I was prepared to do a review update stating how even though PODS really messed up my move experience I would say that the people on top really cared but once I read that document it now comes off like a "CYA" move. I was already happy to leave constructive feedback for them to consider implementing to improve their customers experience but it is clear this document I had to sign had other motivations.. Sorry but I will not sign that document.. For people considering PODS... Jus know things sound way on paper but expect ISSUES... You can only call the call center.. When you make arrangements call often and have each rep review the move order and see if they all say the same thing. If you are looking for container delivery and live in a secure location all I can say i good luck with that.. The driver will not contact you until roughly 20-30 minutes before arrival (as per company policy). Any prearrangements could possibly be notated on your account but one of the reps failed to make any notations on my account. bottom line.. look at other comparable services. if you are moving and considering pod PLEASE feel free to contact me. read more

We used 4 containers for our move. 3 were fine with normal wear and tear from a cross country move, but our 4 container was lost in transit and when we received it, everything was broken, scathed and some items smashed to pieces. We packed each of our Pods exactly the same way. When I submitted a claim along with pictures and details of the Pod missing for 2 weeks, they claimed that it was my packing that caused the damage. I submitted the claim again and again nothing. There insurance they say that is provided covers NOTHING! As I stated I had 3 other pods that were fine! Cabinets that had been strapped in were broken. Still more delays and haven't received my pod. Because I have no furniture in my house I've had to cancel my daughters birthday party. I was told that it would be delayed another day because of the transportation company. When the day comes for the actually delivery the driver does not come during the scheduled time window and when I call him he tells me he's not sure what time he will arrive. Do not contact customer service. They do not care about resolving any issues even if the company is at fault. I just want my stuff and to never deal with this company again. read more

PODS hit our house while delivering a container, damaging our rain gutter. Three weeks later, PODS has not acknowledged the damage they caused, nor have they offered to pay to get it repaired. PODS treats customers like dirt I suggest you never use PODS. read more

It was extremely convenient to have them store my things for that amount of time, especially since I intended to use them for less than one month and they made it easy to continue to extend my service. However, I had numerous issues upon initial drop off and final drop off that would lead me to never use these services again unless I was absolutely desperate. Upon initial drop off, PODS made the best of a very limited space. My apartment complained about the storage container being placed on the fire lane, so I moved up the pick up as early as I could, given a 8:30 - 11:30 am window. The driver arrived about 45 minutes early and, when he heard we were not done loading, promised to return later. I stayed at the location until 8 pm that evening and had to call multiple times before I was told that the driver would not be returning and was technically not allowed to promise that he would. The storage container was picked up on Monday, as services did not happen on Sundays, but not before a violation notice was affixed to the container. When I was finally able to schedule the final drop off, it was after I had to reschedule the date several times, through no fault of the company. However, I did not receive a call from the driver and was not aware that the container had been delivered. This was crucial in this instance because I was purchasing a new home and the delivery, which occurred early again outside of the provided time frame, could have halted my purchase because I was not yet funded by my lender. I then looked at the container to find that it had been loaded backwards. So, there is an issue with the imagery presented on the website because my documents state that the door should be away from the building while the graphics on the site state that the door should be towards the building. And if the driver had contacted me, I could have corrected this before we had to unload the container the long way. All this being said, if you want to have a successful experience, you MUST STAY ON TOP OF THINGS. Customer Service is not willing to work with extraordinary circumstances to ensure your success and if you have other options for your moving and storage needs, I would definitely recommend that over this. read more

I had a terrible experience with PODS. In November I had a POD scheduled for delivery that never showed up, no phone call to notify me that it wasn't coming. When I called they couldn't give me a reason it wasn't going to be delivered but rescheduled for 2 days later. The same thing happened. No delivery, no phone call saying it wasn't coming and when I called they had no idea if it was going to be delivered or not. You can't even call the local franchise to talk to someone there. I cancelled my order after that but they had already charged me for both orders of which neither were delivered! One was credited right away but the other took almost a month and several phone calls to get almost $500 refunded for something that I never even got. i called another company and got theirs delivered the next day exactly as they promised. read more

Worst customer service/experience ever. Our kids beds were in our pod. Not only did it not arrive but we had no notice at all that the driver wasn't coming. We had to rush find a place to stay, stress out after already being stressed from moving, and to compensate us, here's $25. It's BEYOND awful. read more

5/4/17, I went online to get a quote to move 1 container from Florida to Michigan. Of course, after filling in all asked for information, I am told to call. Why do I need to call? So I call. 6 minute wait. After giving my info again to a live person I wait 5 minutes to be told that they can't give quote. OK, I say, call me back when you can. Told that they are not allowed to call out or back. Wow, what a way to run a business. I will call back later. I call back later and was put on hold 7+ minutes. 5/5/17. I call the next day. Same results. No quote, told system might be down? What the hell, 4th time might be the charm. Again. 4 minute hold. To be told again can not get you a quote. How do they stay in business? read more

DON'T RENT FROM PODS. I moved 50 miles from northern NJ to NY and was charged $700 just to get my POD. This company hits you with so many hidden fees and has the upper hand because they have the unit. You are essentially held hostage. I ended up paying a HIGHER monthly fee for them to have my pod for 5 days this month. How do i pay more to use the storage less?! WHAT A RIP OFF. You are better off using a local storage facility and hiring movers. You think you're paying for convenience and you're really paying to be taken for a ride. read more

First the service over the phone was great. The PODS were delivered for loading were on time. The first POD was delivered to my new home in good shape and on time. I received a call from the service center in Florida , they told me my second POD had been clipped by a lift at the transfer site and knocked off a POD that it had been stacked upon. My rented POD was demolished. The service center told me, the POD's company would hire a third party company to pack another POD with my items that would to be delivered to my new home on a date to be rescheduled. (I had purchased Insurance on the PODS) The third party packers unloaded the destroyed POD. A new POD was filled. The lighter boxes were placed on the bottom of the newly loaded POD with all of the heavy boxes placed on top. All of the wooden furniture was basically in toothpicks but anything that was intact ,tabletops, legs and garden tools were used to brace boxes in place. My Industrial tool boxes were destroyed. The tool boxes were stacked one upon the other, the with the drawers collapsed and the tool box weighing about 300 pounds it took about 2 1/2 hours to get tool box apart for removal from the POD. Now the third part the insurance. The PODS service center explained to me a third party company would be handling the insurance claim. They were fairly prompt explaining how to make a claim. It took weeks to get replacement prices and get the paperwork filled out. The claim was filed. ALL THE ITEMS WERE DEPRECIATED AN AVERAGE OF 45%. THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DEAL WITH IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE A CLAIM. the capital letters are not because I am angry. It is to let future customers with what they have to deal with. The PODS concept is good. the delivery drivers are polite, the call center people are informative,Communication is good. The final results can be far from pleasing and my case may not have been normal. Would I deal with PODS again Hmmm , I would really have to think about it read more
