Zero stars. Absolutely terrible experience. I scheduled a pick up for the day my home was supposed to close for a sale. I thought all was good and at the end of the day, after the pick up window they chose, I received a vm that stated I'd been rescheduled for a week later . Tried to call them to get this resolved immediately as new homeowners were moving in and was told "I'll put in a request over email, and you'll have to wait 24hrs at least for their reply". I asked for other phone numbers and was told "there is none". I still have not received a reply from pods and it's been 3 days. I will never use this company again and urge you not to as well. read more

Stay away!!! They are a scheduling and quote nightmare! We purchased the insurance....worthless! Our furniture was professionally packed, and still got damaged. Filed a claim, then was told it doesn't cover damage caused by shifting or basically anything that doesn't involve a wreck or defect in the pod itself. I will never use this service again. read more

I am a Real Estate Agent who has a client that ordered two PODS. They were delivered on time. My client loaded both pods. Scheduled a pick up 3 weeks ago. They came today to pick up but only could take one Pod. The other can't be picked up till 2 weeks after closing. This is unacceptable. We may have to delay closing or make other arrangements. Customer service is no help. All calls go to FL office not local office. No one can help us. We need a Supervisor to call but they refuse that also. read more

My experience with PODS was great and I, absolutely, would use them again! I needed to store most of my furniture and belongings during a temporary relocation to Northern CA. PODS was a logical choice as I didn't want to have to load and unload my stuff at a storage facility. Each POD delivery and pickup was on time and placement of the container was perfect. Customer service was always a positive experience. A few days prior to the initial delivery of my POD, I changed my mind and asked for the larger container. I was quoted a slightly higher monthly charge but I was never charged that higher amount! As far as the actual storage of my belongings....nothing was damaged and only a few items (boxes) had shifted. When using a service like this, it is very important to make sure you pack the POD so that your stuff will not move around too much when the POD is picked up by the PODzilla. We packed everything accordingly and our items were in the same condition I left them in. I will DEFINITELY use PODS in the future!! read more

DON'T USE PODS - This company will not do what it takes to make things right. PODS- Please call me immediately. UPDATE: The container is still not delivered. We are being asked to pay more money for same day deliver / pick-up. I was just hung up on by a member of the PODS team from the 1800 number. The earliest they can deliver is now a week out. I now have to send another moving company to the PODS storage facility to empty to container there and have the new movers take our things to the house. Pods is one of the WORST companies I have ever dealt with. I have worked customer service for over 15 years, and never have I been treated with such disrespect in my life. When the POD was delivered, I worked from home that day so I could receive the unit. When the delivery driver arrived, I asked if there was any paperwork or walkthrough needed, and his response was, "you don't even need to be here." So with that being said, I went inside. 2 days later we begin to load the POD with furniture and our personal belongings. We got halfway done for the evening and decided to call it quits and then finish the next day. Moving Day: The next day comes around and we got up early to begin the process of loading the remainder of the stuff into the POD. When I walked into the POD, I immediately noticed that there was water on the inside of it, and all over some of our belongings. I looked around and to my surprise found a giant crack in the roof of the container. I immediately got on the phone and called the customer service line, panicked on what to do. Our belongings were wet and damaged. When the customer service department assisted me, they told me that they were unable to schedule a replacement POD to be delivered that day, but could deliver one to us the next day (which was our pick-up day). I said that this didn't work for us, and they called and said unfortunately there wasn't anything they could do. The agent tried to offer me a $25 refund so that I could do buy a tarp and some string to protect the unit. I insisted and they said they would call me back with a solution. This first phone conversation lasted 1.5 hours. 2 hours go by and still no phone call back, so I called again, and the customer service agent said they would call the local shop again and ask for an update. After being on the phone for another hour to 1.5 hours, they said they could send a driver to repair the unit temporarily. This is 3 hours wasted of my time on my moving day which means we couldn't start loading our POD until after 1PM because of all the delays because we weren't sure what was happening. The driver was apologetic, in fact, the only apology we received, and said that this cracked roof was unacceptable and they should have done a better job of inspecting the unit. He even admitted it was their fault. I immediately called PODs back asking for a refund of my service and for them to compensate on my damaged property and they said they would submit a claim and another department handles this. I was supposed to receive a phone call within 72 hours, and that didn't happen. I called again and spoke to another customer service agent and asked them if they would provide me an update on my claim, and she said that no claims were submitted for me. She proceeded to file a claim and told me I would hear from them in 72 hours. Fast forward a few days and I receive an email from Alex L. (Customer Advocacy - Office of Executives) and he says he will be my agent and to provide him with the necessary pictures of the damage for them to do their assessment. I emailed him back immediately on 8/26/2019. He said he would review them and get back to me shortly. The week of September 5, I still hadn't heard from them, so I called them for an update. Alex advises me that someone else wanted my case and took the case from him. I asked the reasoning and he didn't provide one. Shortly thereafter, I receive a phone call from Horesia G. (Customer Advocacy - Office of Executives) stating she had a resolution for my case and to give her a call. I called her back on 9/5/2019 and she asked me if I was looking to receive a refund on the service utilized along with compensation for my damaged property. I stated yes. She said okay, so after reviewing the photos and the evidence, she could not proceed forward with refunding my service because I continued to use their service. She said she could either offer me 50% of what I paid to PODs so far ($300) or replace my damaged items. I went on to tell her that I didn't agree with this estimate and that she should reconsider. She told me this was the final decision. I said why can I not get both a refund and compensation. She stated that I continued to use their service. I tried to tell her that I couldn't find a rental company to get a different mode of moving. She said that they provided me an option, and it just didn't work for my needs. I said I would like to speak to a supervisor, and she told me that there is no one else I would be talking to and that she didn't have a manager. I told her I needed to discuss things with an attorney and she said, great, have them contact me, I'd love to talk to them. After filing a complaint against her, her supervisor, Christian A calls me and tells me that what she offered me was fair. I said I disagreed and he said he would send me a form to fill out so that he could re-evaluate. That form was never sent to me, and I still don't have a resolution. This company is AWFUL! read more

After the initial interaction with Marcia, the rep that set up the service, it was a very very very bad and negative experience. First of all, the local agents in the Washington DC area located in Fairfax Va was not very helpful with anything, not even accurate time of drop off. After the pod finally got delivery, it was not the size as agreed upon in the signed legal document. It was a 7 footer, not an 8 footer as the contract stated. The size difference is a major difference for a cross country move. The pickup of the container was a nightmare. I gave implicit instructions of where the lid was and how to retrieve it. It finally got picked up two weeks after the pick up date. After that fiasco, the "senior customer service rep", told me that the delay was basically not her problem and I had only two days to empty the container of I would be charged for a month of storage. The DID charge me but I called and they eventually reversed the charge. The brand promise and brand customer service is dramatically different from the image they portray. This was the worse moving experience I have experienced and I have done over 20 movea thru the military and as a civilian. If I ever had to do a cross country move again, I would rather go thru the arduous process of loading and driving anything available not me than use PODS again. read more

Worst service I have ever experienced, especially with something so important as every worldly possession you have. These people are LAZY about maintaining any current information about the status of your pod. I was originally promised that my POD would be delivered on March 6 -- even when I thought that sounded impossible, I was promised that was the expected date. March 5: no word from them, but when I called to get an update --- OOPS, we made a mistake. It won't be in the facility until March 16! We will make sure it gets to you on March 19. March 16: We call to confirm. Yes, yes, everything is on schedule March 18: We get two text message confirmations that the delivery would be tomorrow. March 19, Morning: We get another text confirmation. We wait. And wait. And wait. Then we call. After being put on hold for over 30 minutes -- OOPS, we made a mistake. It hasn't even arrived in port. We guarantee it will be here on the 21st, and we will deliver on the 22nd. March 21: we have a snowstorm. We check their website - it says our delivery WAS COMPLETED ON THE 19TH!!!! So we call to confirm that the delivery is still scheduled for the 22nd. Yes, yes. We don't foresee any reason why you would not get your delivery tomorrow. The weather will be clear. All is on schedule. However, no confirmation that night. March 22, Morning: We wait. And wait. Then we call, and are put on hold for another 30 minutes -- Oh, sorry, the manager of the facility decided not to open today. You are on a list for tomorrow, but we can't confirm that they will get to you. Wait for a confirmation tonight. I'm not holding my breath. THIS COMPANY IS INCOMPETENT! I don't usually write reviews but the way PODs has handled my move has been awful. They told me they could deliver to my new home in a different state. I packed up a 16 foot POD and now I need them to deliver it to my new house and they said they don't deliver there. Since the rest of my house is going by a moving truck I now have to bring the POD back to my house and have the movers move it all into their truck. The gentlemen from the moving company said this happens all the time with this company. Please be aware and get everything in writing. read more

Pods is the biggest dog shit of a moving company that I have ever used and I've moved across country three separate times. The idea is great: load your stuff and they will store it until you are ready for it and then drop it off at your door. Or so they claim. What they don't tell you is that there are certain parts of the country that they do not service. So please don't find yourself in the same situation that I did. Where I paid them over $3000 to drop my pod off an hour and a half away from my new home only to have to pay another moving company to unload my things at pods and reload to bring to my home. That would have been nice to know before hand! (Btw, I have heard of this happening to at least two other people so this doesn't seem to be just an isolated incident.) Not only are they slimy but also incompetent. I had to call 3+ times to get a charge off of my account because they continued to bill me even after my pod had been emptied. They also released my items to the other moving company I hired without contacting me first. Sketchy as hell. Does that mean any person off the street can access customers items? Several other bumps along the way with these folks but these were the highlights. Never received any kind of apologies for the miscommunication/errors. I would never recommend this company. We were told that one pod would be big enough for a 2-3 bedroom HOUSE. we only had a 2 bedroom apartment so we figure this would be great for our cross country move. We hired professional movers to pack it. Well they played jenga a while and it didn't fit. That's right we had to get rid of 2 couches, a dolly, 4 suitcases, and my vacuum to get the majority of stuff to fit. We didn't even have 2 beds or bedroom furniture- just one set. Not to mention when we unpacked it we had some of our stuff damaged. My bedroom chest had a hole in the back, the drawers didn't open right and the bottom peg was snapped off. A few chairs were damaged also. We have used the packing company before so we know it is not their fault. The way pod gets picked up and dropped off on the truck is not a gentle experience. They also don't have convenient drop off schedules and don't call ahead to confirm. read more

I was extremely unsatisfied with my overall service with this company. In regard to the delivery, pick up and safety of my property, I was satisfied. What I was extremely disappointed with was: 1. undisclosed charges that would be applied 2. Incompetent service reps that set up service (the lady who set up my service never scheduled a pick up date and I told her numerous times I needed same day pick up). 3. Unprofessional, rude, derogatory service reps at their call centers. 4. Lack of ability to get ahold of decision makers. 5. Being told lies ( that I would receive a call back and never did, that I could not speak with branch managers, that there was no one that I could speak with to address my concerns above the branch manager, etc.) As a business professional myself, it is beyond me how poor the training for call center/service employees has to be to receive such terrible service (all but ONE person I spoke with was either rude, trying to place blame on me and not the company, or refusing to let me speak with someone of authority). The company charged me for services that were never disclosed. Once I addressed the issue, I received a 50% refund. While a decent gesture, I simply don't believe anyone should have to pay for anything they were not informed about or unknowingly agreed to. Had I known of the charge, I would have happily paid it or made other arrangements. My issue was never 100% about the money, rather the principle of the matter. Logistically and functionally the service was fine; however, I would never give business to a company who operates with these principles, business ethics and lack of professionalism. I was leaning towards using PODS for my upcoming move, however, after a second phone call with an Account Manager on the Coordination Team in FL, I think I will go with another service. I'm hesitant to give my patronage to a company who has a "manager" that would conduct himself in the way he did. I only spoke with him twice and in our initial conversation he was helpful and I was left with a positive feeling, but I wasn't ready to make the reservation at that time. After more research and thought, I had some additional questions that I wanted to have answered before making my decision, so I reached back out to him. When he called me back, I was met with loud sighs of annoyance when I stated that I wasn't quite ready to make the reservation and that I had a few more questions. He answered my first question with no problem. Then I wanted to confirm the material of the POD, as I had read in some customer reviews that they received wooden ones instead of the steel and so I asked what my POD would be made of and he replied "steel. wood. plastic." Okay... short and unfriendly, but not inaccurate I guess. Then midway through my next question he cut me off and said "so are you going to make the reservation or not?" to which I replied "No and I'm sorry, but you are not being very accommodating in answering my questions. If you are not the person to be answering these, can you connect me to the person that can?" He offered no acknowledgment of his behavior, no apology and no offer to get me in touch with someone who could (or was SIMPLY WILLING) to help. For his answer to my request for someone else, he simply just stated the time frame it would take to move the pod (which wasn't even an answer to that question or any question I had asked.) I remained calm and decided it was not worth my energy to try to get accurate or helpful answers from him at this time. I said "I can see you have other things that are occupying you and keeping you from helping, so I'm going to go" and he simply said "goodbye" and hung up. Having worked in sales before, I understand that it takes a lot of patience to deal with customer questions, however, I still would go above and beyond to help my customers, no matter how annoyed I felt. And I definitely wouldn't let on to them that I was annoyed and that I clearly only cared about making the sale. Yet, this is how he conducted himself. Simply, I feel as though I was disregarded and disrespected from the minute he heard that I wasn't ready to put my credit card down. If you're that inconvenienced by legitimate questions from potential customers regarding your services, then I definitely don't want to see how you treat your customers when they need to speak with you about any important issues that may arise in the process. I had a terrible experience with POD customer service. While everyone I spoke to was courteous, I called and emailed multiple times for three weeks up until my POD delivery date because I was concerned that my driveway might be to steep for it to work. The customer service agents all looked at my pictures and said they thought there wouldn't be a problem. But wanted to check with the location manager to make sure. I emailed pictured and was even included on some of the "follow up" between the location managers and the customer service folks I talked to. Everyone was "working" on an update. I was promised a response and a call back and did not receive it until 5 hours before my POD delivery. My driveway was indeed too steep.I am now scrambling to rent a u-haul, paying movers extra for labor time, and having to find a new storage facility. And having to sit on the phone with POD to make sure they don't charge me. I'm sure there is a similar and better service out there, this one is not worth it. read more

We started our PODS in Seattle, WA and requested our POD be shipped at some point out of state. Our POD was first stored North of Seattle (rainy) and when we received it back there was no issues with condensation or drips anywhere. The guy who picked up our POD in Seattle was great and the guy(s) who dropped off and picked up our POD in Costa Mesa was great. We packed our POD tight and some stuff shifted (which is to be expected), but our property was in great condition. We stored our belongings for one year and we would use them again. The only issue I had was with some misinformation regarding shipping our container out of state. When we initially contacted PODS to ask about shipping our storage container to another location outside of WA state we were told the size we used wouldn't be a problem, however; when I called I was told the size we used wasn't a size they shipped out of state. Fortunately, they were able to accomadate our request and did ship it down to Costa Mesa. The service was great and they were on time. read more

I wouldn't have given them the dignity of a star, but I had to to post the review. This just happened to us 30 mns ago. We asked for our pod to be moved to the new house that we were moving to. We warned the driver ahead of time that there was a uhaul parked in the driveway that the owner would move in about 10 mns. When we got to the house we went inside to do a quick walk-through. When we came out, the driver had left with no warning. He literally just LEFT WITH OUR STUFF WITH NO WARNING. We tried to call him several times and he didn't pick up. So we called customer service because we were freaking out. We spoke to the worst supervisor ever who told us that she couldn't help us. She said that the drivers are trained to take the pods to a warehouse somewhere if they have to wait at a location for more than 10 mms. And the worst part of the conversation with her was that she said she had no idea when our pod would be brought back to the house. She said it would be "sometime today" with no timeframe and she said no one could help us. We would just have to wait to hopefully get a call sometime that day that the driver was bringing the pod back. I asked to speak with someone else and she refused to let me speak with anyone else. I should sue them for driving off with my stuff without my permission. I never agreed to nor was I ever told that they would just take my stuff and drop it off at a warehouse if they have to wait for more than 10 mms. You would think that they would at least warn people first. This is the worst customer service I have ever had with a moving company. I will never use pods again. read more

This company deserves 0 stars if i could. We order a pod drop off on 7-30-2020 they gave us an estimated time of arrival for 945-1245am. Needless to say the pod showed up at 6pm on 07-30-2020. We spoke with the company and they response was thry didn't know why the delivery was backed up but documented it. I had movers scheduled for 2pm I had to pay the movers just for showing up and then had to pay more movers once the pod was finally their. I lost 270 in moving fee and PODs didn't offer me one dime of reimbursement. Guess what tho they were on time to pick the pod up. read more

On the morning of the scheduled POD delivery, my wife and I were at the delivery address waiting for the POD driver to call with an estimated delivery time. The next thing I see is the POD driver driving up and down our small roads at a very high rate of speed. The speed limit in our park is 15 mph, and he was definitely exceeding this. When he did stop in front of our house I asked him why he didn't call first. He said that his "cell phone was dead". Next he asked me which way we would like the door of the unit oriented, and I told him the way it sat on the truck was fine. For some unknown reason, the delivery person got back in the truck, raced around the park and ended up with the door at the wrong side. When he got out, I told him the door was now backwards. He abruptly replied "I GOT IT!", got back in the truck, raced down to a intersection, turned the truck around and raced back to in front on my house again. I showed him where I would like the POD placed and he commenced to unload it. I could tell he was visibly upset with the situation and it showed when he removed the unit from the truck in a hurried fashion, almost tipping the unit over at one point. When the unit was finally free of the truck he commenced to move the unit to its resting spot, but as soon as he got it into my yard, he kept reversing the unit, backing it up, then moving it forward, chewing up my freshly laid sod. Then, when he finally got the unit going into the right direction, he turned the unit and headed for my installed concrete yard curbing, which is a good distance off the road, which you will see in the photographs. I yelled at him twice that he was headed for the curbing as he directed the unit at the controls while watching it, but ran over the curbing anyway, breaking the concrete. To make matters worse, he started moving the unit back and forth, for what reason I do not know, chewing up my sod even more. He finally dropped the unit hastily and put the frame back on the truck. As he was about to leave, I asked him who I need to contact about the damages, and his response was, 'I guess PODS". Never during this time did the driver apologize for the damage he had done or the fact he almost tipped the unit over. Once he was complete, he got back into his truck and raced, I mean RACED, out of the park. We had such a good experience with the drop off driver at our home in Ohio and the driver that came and picked up the empty POD this morning that it is too bad our overall experience with PODS turned out this way. read more

PODS had been wonderful to us in the past. About 10 years ago we used them for a move from FL to PA. We had no problems and only good things to say. We attempted to use them for our most recent move to Washington State. 1st, we had an issue with an available spot in our complex, not the fault of PODS. They ended up dropping off the POD at the other side of the lot, again not the fault of PODS. An available space near our apartment opened up and we called them to move it, no one answered. We suffered though moving our stuff much farther than we needed to and then called for them to schedule a pick up. This is where it really goes south... 1- They quoted us 5 to 7 days for delivery to our new address 2 - We called and they told us they wouldn't pick up our POD for movement until Tuesday. 3- They told us they needed an extra day to transport it EAST to their holding facility ( We are moving WEST!) 4- 5 to 7 days turned into 9 DAYS! I was prepared to possible not have my belonging for up to 3 days after we arrived on the west coast but they now were telling us they could not deliver our stuff until 3 days before Christmas!!!! I was beyond mad! I canceled the movement of the POD. I told them that there was no reason to drastically change the arrival date from the quoted time frame. We scrambled to unload the POD, load a moving van, and cancel all the services. We ended up saving ourselves about $1000 and now we will have our items with us. I hate that I have to drive a moving van now but it is worth not being lied to and our belongings with us! read more

We purchased a 16-foot container and shipped from Honolulu to Connecticut. While it was not cheap, our stuff arrived intact. I was impressed by the PODS transport and delivery process which keeps the container level in order to avoid moving its contents. That being said - there are several unanticipated fees and costs everyone should be aware of. 1 - Large containers are often unable to be delivered to apartment complexes and small lots. So then you have to hire movers to drive to a PODS facility, unload its contents, and deliver to your home on your dime. 2 - The company charges a "storage" fee ($300/month). This is not really "storage" and more like a "rental" (and even more like a "rip-off") as the company will charge this recurring amount even while your container is in transit. As it took over 1 month for our container to arrive in Connecticut from Hawaii - we paid another ($300 x 2) for "storage" in addition to over $6500 for "transportation." They won't prorate even though we technically used the container for less than 7 days the second month and it was delayed in transport. This was super annoying because the company does not really have an incentive to deliver your container on time and you get charged for "storing" the container while it is really being "transported" and you are getting "ripped-off." And finally - their customer service is pretty unhelpful, at times rude, and seemingly incompetent. They can't track containers or give any firm delivery times or windows. They can only give you "estimates." Even worse - they kept telling us our container would be delivered to a New Haven facility even though we heard from multiple local movers that that location is closed. How is it that the PODS customer service representatives do not even know that one of their own facilities is closed?! Eventually, it showed up in Bristol, Connecticut (as if by magic) as the PODS people were seemingly unable to track or provide a delivery location. We would still probably use PODS again given lack of any better options (U-Pack likes to tip over its relocation cubes [and their contents] at 30-45 degree angles while moving them around). But I would caution anyone using PODS to budget a few hundred extra dollars for unanticipated costs (and also to buy a strong bottle of liquor when trying to deal with their customer service). read more

After calling and dealing with several moving companies it is refreshing to have an honest, ethical Company like Pods who make the moving process a positive experience. I ordered a pod on 07/12/2021 to be delivered 07/17/2021. My move was scheduled for 7/18/21. My lease was over in my current residence on the 18th and the pod was to be delivered to a family members home a day before so i can store my belongings while waiting for my new home to be ready. POD's rep ensured me that delivery would happen the day before and i would get confirmation of a delivery window. The evening before delivery i got an email stating that the delivery window would be on the 17th between 1:45-4:45 pm. The pod never arrived. I called at about 5pm that day and the agent told me they would deliver it if it was scheduled and i just had to be patient. I explained to the agent that i have an 8 month pregnant wife and movers were coming in the morning in anticipation of having somewhere to put my belongings. Also, that my lease was over and i could not extend and reschedule. The agent ensured me that the pod would come even if it was late at night. It never did. It is currently the 21st and i still do not have the storage unit. All of my belongings are out in the backyard of my family members home. I have called and chatted with customer service a dozen times over the last 5 days. Each time there is no answer as to why it was not delivered and that they need to email a manager to find out. They keep telling me someone will get back to me and no one has. There has been 0 communication with me (and it seems like internally as a company), not even an email. On top of all this they still charged my credit card. They also know that i have no where to put my things and am in danger of damaging all my property. Do NOT use this service. They are unhelpful, their representative misquote you and charge you exorbitant fees with out your knowledge. It is beyond just the typical moving headache, they are frauds. I called to have my pod delivered, I asked how much it would be and the representative told me an amount of in and around $300. That was the wrong amount because what was taken out of my acct was a little over $1000. I call to make a complaint, now they are "reviewing" my conversation, which roughly translates to-- they don't care and are passing the buck. Two days later, I look at my account and there is another $266 fee taken out from pods. I call and talk to Frank, who is a condescending, arrogant prick. Look, I know I am angry, but I am pretty sure this man doesn't like women and thinks it is alright to talk down to people. I know I am going to eat these costs and view it as a lesson learned. Just do yourself the favor and look somewhere else. Moving is a hassle to begin with, do not add any more stress to your move by using this company. There are plenty other companies out there that are helpful, want their customers to be happy and aren't just looking at the bottom line. Best of luck with moving. Company is dishonest in what they provide, and customer service is poor. I paid $1500 to have my POD delivered to me and then moved to California (from Arizona). I didn't have a concrete place or time to have it delivered, so they told me no big deal it will be held in storage once it's been moved to California, just give us a week notice to schedule a delivery and we will charge you for the storage and delivery fee. Fast forward 3 months, I finally find a place and call to have my POD delivered, AND IT WAS STILL IN ARIZONA. Then they told me it would take over THREE WEEKS to get a delivery scheduled and then charged me $580 without telling me what it was for, why it was being charged or anything. When I called customer service they were everything but helpful. The first person I talked to didn't even try to help, when I asked for his supervisor he had the nerve to tell me that his supervisor wasn't going to be able to do anything for me either. I'm still trying to work through this horrible mess. In the end it looks like I'm out an $580 more than I agreed too and I still do not have my stuff. I am considering legal action to get this fixed. I recommend that you do not use PODS, and instead use a much cheaper, more reliable service. read more

POD delivery window was limited but OK. The real problem in my experience is when you call to schedule the return of the POD full of your stuff--when I called to arrange the return of the POD, the soonest they had was 10 days in advance. They overschedule delivery of empty PODs so you think it will be fast, but they are obviously understaffed and undeserving of any brand name credibility. Customer support said we could call back--every day--at a specific time--to try an jump the line. I will never ever use this company again. They can blame it on 'busy season' all they want-- they are understaffed and slow when you need them, only fast at taking $. read more

I used to love this company, but things have changes for the worst. Been trying for over a month for them to come pick up the pod. Save yourself a favor, don't use them. They will keep pushing your move date back and back and the customer service reps refuse to take down the the gate code information. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible experience. read more

Pods has taken over $2,600 dollars from my account IN ADDITION to all of the monthly charges and I have gotten nothing but red tape and barriers from customer service. Each person has been individually kind, but the systems the company has set up makes it impossible for them to help me. I've been on the phone for HOURS trying to solve this and continually get "we'll call you back, send an email, talk to so-and-so and they can help you" and it's been 3 weeks and the money has yet to be returned to my account -- but worse they took MORE money from me! Each person I've talked to has been nice, but my gosh that much money is a BIG deal and should be handled with quickly! It's been horrible! I will never again in good faith recommend this company. It's truly been awful -- it's actually theft, and I will treat it as such. I never write reviews, ever, but I feel like I'm at a loss for getting in contact with anyone who can help me so this is the last Hail Mary I'll try before seeking further action. read more

I had to spend over 30 minutes on the phone twice. First time was because my container was wrongly scheduled to be picked up and taken to a storage unit and then redelivered to my new house. At no point did I ask for it to be stored offsite. I couldn't change this online nor with online chat support. So I called and the guy switched it, but then he was saying it would be an extra $150+ more than original quoted. I told him that made no sense, if anything it should be cheaper, if it was going to a storage unit then back to new house, I was saving them a day and miles of transport by cutting that out. He just said, well, prices can change and then he started reading back the prices to me and he took forever adding it up. It finally got figured out, he was just adding a 2nd month of storage for some reason. Then, the date he scheduled for the move ended up being a date that PODS didn't service my area. I had taken the day off of work to finish moving and unloading. I called PODS and they gave me a whole $25 credit for the inconvenience. Will never use PODS again or recommend. Would have saved time and money renting a UHAUL truck for a week. (Which I got anyways, because a 16 ft container was way too small, filled it plus a 26 ft U-haul. read more

Lousy customer service I used this service to store household goods at my home while having the floors resurfaced. I called to set up a delivery date a size of pod about a week off. I believed i scheduled a pickup date 4 weeks after delivery. Delivery was on time and he placed the unit where I wanted it. I might add there is a $85 fee for delivery and $97 for pickup. I looked up online for my pickup date just before its due to find out one wasn't scheduled. When I tried to schedule a pickup date the web page shows only dates well out of a month rental period. I assume this means pods will get another month's rent, so I call them. The lady at the call center in Clear water FL verify s what the web page says about how long it will take to get the pod picked up. Not happy with this result, I don't want to be charged for another $325 month's rent. She offers to call the local pods location to see if they can pick it up early. After a short hold she says they will pickup the pod the next day due to my near their location. Sounds like a scam to me, just saying. read more

RUN FAR AWAY FOR MULTIPLE REASONS!!! First time contacted, the Pods representative got the wrong name, wrong email and completely wrong phone number. When we called to update the order, they, of course, couldn't find the original order. Pod arrived on time, but the next day a second one showed up - from the first order that was completely wrong except the address. Managed to get a refund and have the second Pod picked up after 4 or more phone calls and waiting on hold a VERY long time. When we went to put our stuff in the original Pod 30 hours after it arrived, it was filled with WATER. It had rained the night before!! Thank goodness we hadn't put anything in it the day before. We cancelled the whole order. They eventually picked up the Pod but I am still WAITING ON A REFUND. I have called more than 4 times to get the refund. I get bounced around and no answers. read more

Moving can bring a lot of stress, add moving to another state and things can get crazy!! I needed to move From Long Beach, CA to a very small town in Southeast, Louisiana. I checked out cost of driving a U-Haul Truck with gas, hotel and the time to drive it. I also priced those Packing Cubes which were too small for my need to pack up 20 years of my life in a 2 bedroom Condo. ( I had a lot of stuff!!) getting to the point!! I decided to go with PODS..I called and received quotes for the 2 sizes they ship I selected the 8x16ft. I was happy with the price quoted it's not Cheap! but moving across country is expensive!! Ok , let's talk logistics Condo complex , Parking Garage - too low for delivery of Pod, given two options put on the street which would require me to get a City Permit and cost $75.00 extra or Load my stuff at the PODs facility. We selected to load at the PODS Facility. Tip...when you reserve your Pod set up your re-deliver location up front with all dates, they followed to the letter. I did not need storage. We had originally scheduled 3 days to load it but it took us 5 days. Staff on the phone and staff at the Yard in Compton, CA were very helpful and courteous to us as we requested they make the POD available for the extra days. My Pod left Compton, CA on the date they promised 6/8/18 and was re- delivered as promised on 6/21/18. My stuff arrived undamaged. Tip!- watch the video on proper packing...very helpful. This is a great way to move for all the right reasons of Cost, Time , Security and YOUR Peace of Mind!! I am very happy I went with PODS!!! read more

We were recently taken for a ride by PODS Moving & Storage, and want to warn others. Their advertising says they store your POD indoors, which was not the case for us. After storing with them for several months what was returned to us was sun damaged boxes and goods. There is just no way boxes inside a container, stored inside a facility would fade from the sun like ours did, unless it actually sat outside the entire time. Then when we filed the claim for damage from the sun and water from the leaking container they depreciated our goods to 50% of their value and then applied the $100 deductible and offered us a $6 check. Just laughable, and not even an apology for such poor treatment. We could have paid less at ANY regular storage facility, and actually gotten climate controlled storage as promised. Shameful treatment of customers, and veterans too! read more

Please don't use pods. They initially start out great then getready for missed deliveries, excuses and absolutely no contact. Have filed 2 complaints directly with them they responded to one of them and yes after several attempts to contact them no further response. Terrible company to try and work with since they don't respond once they have their cash. Be careful!! read more

I am beyond disappointed with my PODS experience. It is bordering on false advertising. The POD that was delivered to my home did not look like the unit on the site or on Instagram. It was filthy, and worse, had insulation stuffed into holes in the laminate roof. I immediately called customer service and was told someone would come out and assess the POD for a swap the next day - no one ever came. I had no choice but to pack this POD for the day I had moving help and call customer service again. They told me they were sorry I was delivered an older model that would be retired soon, and that they could swap the POD but that would be a cost up front that could be reimbursed. Then why charge it at all? I requested that they pay for the labor to move the contents of one pod to the next and they said that would also be considered for reimbursement. I'm sorry, I am not paying $700 for labor if it is not guaranteed to be reimbursed. This is your fault PODS. Not mine. This is poor quality control on your part. Now I have my belongings in your facility, with content protection that does not even cover the mold and mildew I am concerned about due to your poor insulation. I am now waiting on someone to call me from the escalation dept. and luckily I have my lawyer on standby. This is just unacceptable. False advertising, terrible customer service and no ownership of their mistake or fair solution. Oh and to top it all off, the delivery of the pod and the pick up of the pod was not even within the three hours they allotted. They were late each time without as much as a phone call as a heads up. I had to call customer service each time to check the status. This is unacceptable. read more
