Went in with low expectations as I do not normally frequent places like this but I was blown away. I went in immediately once the place was open and staff was ready to help. Our waitress was very friendly and communicated how things worked. For example, you need to scan a bar code on the table to access the menu. They do not hand out menus like most places. I also thought the proportions would be smaller based on some of the past reviews and photos, but the portion size was enough to feed my family and I. We were a party of five since I wanted to eat out to celebrate my graduation. And even with the five of us, we had food leftover to take home. Then again, I ordered a little more than usual because I thought the proportions would be smaller as some reviews have said. This was not the case.
I ordered the cheese tonkatsu, rappoki, bulgogi, pork belly, spicy garlic chicken, egg fried rice, Korean sausage, and kimchi fried rice. The rice portions were enough to share between all five of us and so was the rest of the food. Although the Korean sausage and cheese tonkatsu did not last too long. They were quick to finish. I don't normally eat Korean food so I cannot comment on if it tastes like every other Korean restaurant or not. I've only had one other experience eating at a Korean restaurant so take my review with a grain of salt, but for me the food was great. My absolute favorites from this place were the Korean sausage, spicy garlic chicken, and cheese tonkatsu. Although, the cheese tonkatsu tastes dry without the sauce. Without the sauce, I would not like it. I think the sauce completed it and takes away the dryness of the meat. The rappoki was okay. It had a sweet and spicy taste with different bites being a surprise. I'm not fond of sweet and spicy noodles so this one was a miss for me, but this is based on personal taste. A lot of how I felt about the food here is based on personal taste and nothing wrong with the food. However, the bulgogi and pork belly was alright. Those were the only ones that I found to be average and tasted like every other restaurant that offers it. It's an order that you can't go wrong with, but it does not taste like anything worth noting. The pork belly and bulgogi would be the only food from the menu that I agree with others tastes like your average Korean food. Everything else though, I would rate it from 3-5 stars. The spicy garlic chicken was also not spicy and instead sweet. Normally I want spicy but this one was a pleasant surprise. My partner was able to enjoy it too as he does not like spicy food. I think this is good for those who have a low spice tolerance or dislike spicy food. I didn't taste the kimchi fried rice but my parents enjoyed it. My family's favorites were the Korean sausage, kimchi fried rice, and the bulgogi.
The place is also well decorated and very cute to take pictures of with friends. They have light decorations and a wall with hanging flowers. It's a fun atmosphere and I would recommend this place to those who want somewhere to hang with friends. I have friends who like to drink and I believe they would love this place. Overall, I would give this place 4/5 stars. Most of what I ate was good and only a few misses. I wish the water was cold too. Sometimes when my water was refilled, it was lukewarm. read more
