Anyone looking to do a major tree removal service in the Northwest, please do yourself a favor and just call P&D service. I had 15 poplar trees roughly 200 ft hight and a giant pine tree leaning over my house. I took many quotes and P&D came up with the most compelling offer - not necessarily the cheapest but the most compelling offer. They came on time for the estimate, called me the day before to confirm the appointment and a professional crew of about 10 people showed up on the day of the job. Rest of the offers were going to take multiple days and P&D finished the entire job in a single day. Very happy that I don't have to manage my kids away from the job site over multiple days. I had 5 trees removed that were going to be a danger to my house before long. As soon as they arrived (early!) they set at it and within one hour they had 4 of the trees completely stripped of their limbs and one already being cut and craned out. They worked like a ballet company in terrific unison and everyone knew what to do and where to be. It was one of the more incredible things I've ever witnessed. The whole job was finished in just over 3 hours at a fair and reasonable price considering all of the equipment and people they used. We had one if the best experiences imaginable having 8 evergreens removed from our back yard. First off they came out quickly to give us a very reasonable estimate. A quick call to their office got us on the schedule for the following Monday. Got a call the next day that they may be able to fit us in Friday. So they actually finished the job earlier than stated. These guys are awesome; they arrived on time actually earlier than scheduled appointment. I had 5 large trees to be removed 2 of them so big they are called Historical / Significant trees in Medina City. There where 7 people that worked as 2 teams, a Bucket truck, a Full size crane truck, 2 full size trucks with each have a separate wood Chipper attached a big Stump grinder machine a semi truck size Lug hauler with its own fork that was picking up the already cut trees from the ground so artistically and another truck that came out later for help to move out smaller usable woods. The 2 crew where super fast , in fact the other bids that where higher by about 15% estimated 3 days work while P'n'D guys did finished the Job in 6 1/2 hours and that was included a lot of extras ( Pruning and trimming other smaller trees )that I asked later and these people did it with a smile. Chris is a very pleasant person that always smiles and goes beyond his duties to satisfy the customer needs. Same as the rest of the crew who work as a real teamwork without much of talking, they just know what to do with a sound of like "Hee Hoo" every time. P'n'D is awesome. We have hired them twice: once to remove a 25 foot apple tree, and once to grind out a Juniper stump. They are great for all the usual reasons, such as reasonable price, honest cost assessment, and prompt, friendly service; but what really sticks out to me, is their care for the surrounding area when they do their work. We have some Hellebore plants that surrounded our former apple tree that were given to me when my father passed away, and I asked them if I would need to re-pot them. They said it should be fine. Fast forward to after the removal of the tree, which was 25 feet high, and two trunks, about a foot in diameter each, and literally not one leaf was disturbed. When they ground out my Juniper stump, they balanced sheets of plywood on my hedge to prevent Juniper chips from scuffing the paint on my house. Really top-notch work. Our next-door neighbor used them as well with similar results, and our neighbor across the street just approved their bid for removing 3 massive evergreens. Would definitely recommend! read more

I had 3 large mature trees removed by P&D and the stumps ground down. They provided the inspection and quote within 2 days of asking. They came and dropped the trees like I asked. They removed the limbs and hauled them away. They ground the stumps. All within 5 hours. Once I had cleaned up the shavings from the grindings (I had them leave it since I would clean it up) I found the the stumps not quite below grade. They brought their equipment back out and shaved it well below the next day. read more

The crew was effective and fairly efficient and the price was reasonable. However, although the estimate sheet said the VISA and MASTERCARD were accepted, I was EXTREMELY disappointed to find out there was a 3% charge to use VISA or MASTERCARD. Absolutely no mention of this additional charge until the work was done and I had to pay the bill. I'd think twice about using this company again. Bad business practice. read more

We had a very tall very dead alder that other outfits didn't want to touch. Over several months each outfit we called was full of "we can tackle anything" bravado, but would suddenly "forget" to "call us back with an estimate" after seeing the thing. The day before a predicted wind event threatened to topple the thing onto our neighbor, we contacted P&D as a last hope. Miraculously, and despite their busy storm prep, the owner made it to our place and slayed the monster in one quick visit. Well done P&D. Well done. read more

Got a bid/proposal, selected them and watched in amazement as they removed our trees. Two large firs were located within two to three feet of our home, one precariously close to our front walkway and driveway. In addition, we had a dangerous double fir with a broken top and two additional trees removed. Limbs were removed and lowered by rope, then a crane was hoisted to remove the large sections of tree trunk. While this was happening workers were grinding stumps and running branches to the chipper. Additionally, two firs were thinned. Clean-up was good. One of the guys blew off our deck, even though he had to climb a ladder to access it. All of this took approximately 4 hours. Called this company two weeks ago to set up a wood delivery of madrona firewood.The gal I talked to said they would deliver it in two weeks on Tuesday,oct. 1st.I said great,so I called off work today to wait for the wood.3 pm rolls around and no wood. So I call P&d to see about the eta. They tell me they wont be delivering my wood today due to heavy rainfall over the weekend.I get no advanced warning,no call, NOTHING. I called P & D Tree Services for an estimate on some tree topping and pruning, an easy job. I was contacted to have an appointment "after 10 am" (on my day off!), and assured that it would take no more than 15 minutes. After waiting at home for several hours, a message was left for me at 1:50 pm, stating that they wouldn't be able to come out as "an important job" came up. I then called P & D Tree Services back, and was asked for a "time that works" to have an estimate. I explained that I had taken the day off to do some house projects, and as I work during the week, I wouldn't be able to schedule something at a later date until after 4:30 pm. I was asked, "would it be possible for someone to come out at 9 am during the weekday to meet with you?". Um, no, I WORK during the week. If a company can't come out and do a simple estimate because "an important job" came up or schedule a time that works for the customer, I wonder how important I have to be to make it worth their while. Sorry, I won't be calling back, I'd rather pay more money elsewhere and get better customer service. read more

If you want a major run around, then by all means use P & D. I can't attest to their ability to do the job well, because three different times they said they would be out and never showed up. They did not call back when they said they would, etc. They were always quick to tell me they were busy, they had payroll to do, etc. Really? Unbelievable. They could have told me from the beginning they did not value my "down only" - yes they use jargon I am supposed to understand - small job! So instead of waiting 4 weeks and a major run around, I could have already had the tree down. I have company coming and now am SOL on having a nice backyard all ready. I truly did not think that companies with this poor level of customer service still existed. AWFUL! read more

I needed some trees removed and stumps ground out. This company had a coupon in the Value envelope, but said they gave me such a good price that the discount wouldn't apply. The workers were quick and competent, however, they broke my fence when grinding a stump. The owner has a hot fuse, quick temper and refused to make things right even after his son admitted he broke the fence. I felt that was unreasonable and wouldn't use them again. read more

Our experience with P'n'D was great! We needed 2 trees removed, and limbs trimmed on 2 other trees. Adam was prompt and thorough in assessing the job, and the crew arrived within a few days. Impressive skill and care in taking down one awkwardly located tree, and in removing limbs on another that were involved with our power lines. The other tree that we wanted removed, a multi-trunked large filbert, was also in an inconvenient location, but the crew dealt with it with equal efficiency. They accomplished the whole job, including complete clean-up, in 1.5 hours, just as Adam estimated. Also, the cost was much less than we expected to pay. Crew arrived on time and discussed plan with me, especially my concern that my vine maple would look good after trimming. They were careful in taking down large branches in the two Douglas Firs so my neighbor's fence wasn't damaged. Cleanup even included branches already on the ground that I hadn't gotten to!! I have been using P and D Tree Service for the last 12 years. They are great with their estimates and offer helpful suggestions. Such as, which items need to be done and which can wait until next year. Many of my trees are maintenance issues and there have been "storm" related removals. They always do a efficient job and the men are friendly and polite. They clean up and chip the branches and haul it all away. I kinda look forward to seeing them each year and catching up on news and marvel at how "Junior" really isn't anymore. He is all grown up. I still can't watch them when they are up in the trees! I've used them twice, in 2008 and 2015. I have also contacted other tree companies (sorry P and D). P and D does good work, is reliable, is competitively priced and a pleasure to work with. When they came for work, they were punctual. It seems like they are bigger in 2015 than in 2008 because the telephone staff now sounds like a big company and less personal but they are not rude or dumb. I would highly recommend them for tree work and will contact them the next time I need tree work, which I think is coming soon. read more

We had 3 trees to remove, one about 30' tall, and a large stump (3' diameter) all near our house. We got quotes from 5 other companies and P & D. We were very impressed with P&D and since their quote was lower than everyone else we chose them. We wanted the stumps ground below grass level and they were all in raised flower beds, P&D requested we dig around the roots to ground level to ensure there were no wires, etc in the way. We did so, called to schedule, and they were there within 2 days, during peak season no less! They called and had the utilities marked so we didn't have to worry about that. They came when they said they would and did an incredible job. 1.5 hours total had all 3 trees down, the stumps ground, and they did an amazing job with clean up. They raked the dirt into the holes left by the stumps to ensure no tripping hazard with holes, they raked up fallen leaves and wood chips, hauled everything off, blew the leavings off the walk and drive way. I recently had a great experience with P & D removing four very large and precariously located honey locust trees in my yard. Everything from the original estimate to the actual removal was superb. I live on a very small street, with very small driveways, and the P & D crew was able to easily navigate the large trucks and the crane through the street and onto the driveways. I contacted three other companies besides P & D and all of them were significantly more expensive and stated that it would take multiple days to remove the trees and grind the stumps. If your looking for wood, look no further. Chris brought me a couple of large cords in October of good hardwoods. I just had another large cord dropped off and it's beautiful wood.
