Fantastic work for a reasonable price. We recently moved into a new home with a significant number of trees lining the perimeter of the home including a small forest directly in front of the house. For the past 4 months we have been evaluating options regarding what trees should be removed, how many and which tree clearing service to use. After researching our options and receiving quotes from loggers, arborists and others, we chose to move forward with P & D Tree Service & Logging. The estimator visited our home and provided advice and an estimate for clearing over 50 larger trees from the yard in three specific area. We were very specific about which trees should go and which should stay, but realized that an effort of this magnitude would inevitable leave some minor damage to surrounding trees, lawn and require major cleanup. We agreed to move forward with the clearing and within 2 days the team was onsite and working. The effort began at 8:00 AM and was entirely completed by 3:00 PM. Much to our surprise, the crew did a great job of preserving as much of the natural surroundings, bushes and smaller trees and we ended up having 80% or more of the original plant and tree life intact even though we didn't have any expectation that much if anything would survive. We were extremely pleased with the results. Additionally, we expected significant cleanup to remove small limbs, branches, needs, and other waste (as agreed upon with the crew prior to the service), however to our pleasant surprise the crew had completely removed all of the debris. Wow, this will be a big time saver for us. Additionally, the crew also explained about their other services including excavation and leveling which will likely be a next step in our landscaping process and from what we can tell, the rates are quite reasonable compared to other options. Overall, we were very pleased with the work performed by P & D Tree Service & Logging. They'll be our first call for the next job and are happy to recommend them in the future. read more

Is there a more confused and inefficient outfit than P&D? Hard to imagine. First I had to email repeatedly to get any sort of response, then they wanted a phone number to call me, then I had to email again to say Call the number I gave you, already. Then they wouldn't stop calling --every day a different person with the same questions after I'd already placed my order! So the arborist showed up and did a fine job, which gave me hope for the cord wood delivery that was to follow. Stupid me. Instead I got another phone call asking the same questions: where was I located, where should they drop the wood, what was my home phone number, would Friday be okay? Oh, and by the way, there will also be a $35 delivery fee and we only accept cash. What? Five phone calls and only now does anyone mention cash or delivery fees? But wait, it gets better . . they never showed up at all. read more

Here's the problem with these guys. They don't do what they say they're going to do. My neighbor hired them to trim tree branches which were on trees that were actually on my property. When they first came over (I had no notice just the sound of their chain saws) I explained it was not a good time right then ( I run a business at my home and had a customer coming over right then) and they agreed to come back. At that time myself and the 'lead" guy from P& D Tree Service specifically went from tree to tree and agreed what they would cut (I wanted to make my neighbor happy but also didn't want them to excessively cut back my trees). That part was fine. But when they came back but by the time I got out there to see what was up they had taken considerably more branches than we specifically agreed. It was the same crew, same lead (could have been the owner for all I know). I went up to him and said 'are you done" he said nodded. I said "you took more branches than we agreed and you and I specifically discussed what you would take" he looked straight at me, and sheepishly walked away. Prior to writing this review, I contacted the company to gave them a chance to respond and waited a week to post this and they never even had the courtesy to get back to me with even "hey sorry' or anything. So make your own decision I'm just telling you the honest truth of what happened I live on the Sammamish Plateau. Why hire people who don't care about customer service and don't keep their word? If you do, you better be prepared to stand there to keep them honest. read more

This tree removal company was THE BEST!! I am so happy with their great service. In two hours, they removed a huge hemlock, a huge cedar arm abutted up against my fence and they CLEANED up everything!! I called P&D to remove 25+ full size trees from my property. They came out that afternoon to look at the area and provide a quote. Their quote was extremely fair compared to the others we received. So we hired them, and they were out the next day to start the removal. All of the trees were gone in about 8 hours, I was amazed. These guys are very skilled and were able to avoid my house, deck, and power lines without an issue. After the trees were removed, we also hired P&D to remove the debris, excavate all of the stumps, and level the area to prepare for grass. Their excavator operator, Paul, was amazing! He completed the work exactly as we wanted, and was able to provide very helpful advice in an effort to save us money. I would definitely recommend this company! read more

We had P 'n' D Tree Service remove our large, over-grown pine tree. They arrived on time (actually they arrived a bit early) and had the entire job finished in less than 30 minutes, including cutting down the tree, grinding two stumps (including one from another tree we had removed ourselves), and removing all of the debris. It was amazing to watch these guys work as a team, and we were impressed with how thoroughly they cleaned up. While you might find someone who is a little less expensive, the price they charged seemed very fair for the work they did. We highly recommend them. read more

Today, they took out a 140' fir using a crane in under 1.5 hours and did a great job cleaning up. What sold me on this company was the videos on their website and that they own the crane trucks. Most other companies have to rent them. This means that the owner has a substantial investment in the business and that this is no part-time operation. All of the crew were very pleasant and listened to my instructions. Not one bush was damaged. The crew was all business. Would I use them again? I would be a fool not to. read more

They are a great company to deal with. I got excellent firewood from them last year and they just came and hauled some junk wood I got from Olsen Trees and Fences last year. The wood from Olsen was rotten and NOT firewood. P&D just hauled it away for me at a very reasonable price. They may be affordable, but I don't trust them. They were hired to take out trees along my property line and ended up taking out a huge shared tree that was clearly on the property line. They came onto my property to do so, which required them to move items in my yard without any warning or without asking permission. They threw my neighbor under bus and completely blamed them; they took no responsibility. They also did not clean up our yard at all, but left debris all over the place. They also don't do so well with calling you back when you seek answers or make complaints. I'd never use them based on my experience. read more

I'm severely delinquent on writing a review for this fabulous company! We ordered a cord of wood from P&D in October last year and had it within two days to our Seatac home. The wood was dry, good sized and very well priced! This year, I got on it early and ordered two cords at the beginning of the summer. I was looking to have it delivered a week after my call because I had so much going on later in the week. Once again, the staff was friendly and helpful! I got my wood that day (within a couple of hours!)! We have a driveway with a slight slope and delivery is a bit tricky, but they managed to drop all the wood on the tarp that I laid down (not a single piece off the tarp!) P&D is efficient, reliable, and oh so friendly. The prices are consistent year to year and I get great quality wood and service. read more

We have used P & D twice and both times we have been extremely happy with their work. Both times their prices were fair, they were on time and cleaned up after themselves. This last time they wanted to make sure I was happy with the work that they did on our two large Asters, so they made sure to book a time when I was present. I allowed P & D on to my property at my neighbor's request so that they could cut the bottom 2 or 3 branches from a tree in my backyard so that she would get more sunshine in her yard. I spoke to the "supervisor" before the work started and specified that only 2 or 3 branches from the bottom of the tree could be cut. He agreed and I let the crew into my yard. They proceeded to cut up six branches up my tree--twice what I agreed to. Now from that side of the yard I see several neighbor's houses rather than branches. Since my neighbor was concerned that a tree in my yard had roots going into her yard, I also allowed P & D to cut down this tree after discussing with the supervisor the price, that the tree was to be cut into firewood and placed behind the fence that was right by the tree and that no heavy equipment was to be used on my yard since I have a sprinkler system. When I checked on this work, there was a huge piece of equipment in my front yard bouncing up and down, deep tire tracks that were made by this equipment and I later discovered damage to my sprinkler system. Again, the "supervisor" hadn't listened or followed up on my instructions. The worker also first refused to put the pieces of the tree behind the fence and only did after I protested to the supervisor. In my local newspaper, I discovered later that P & D advertises/places flyers regularly. They say things such as "we are going to be in your neighborhood removing trees by crane in the near future. This method has very little impact on your yard. There could be little or no cost for removal." I've wondered since how many trees they've removed for little or no cost. read more

Needed to have 5 huge 120-140 ft Evergreen Trees removed. Two of them had died in the summer drought, one was rotting out from the bottom to half way up, one was starting to rot from the top down. In one day, the team showed up around 8 Am and by 1:30 all of the trees were down. It took a couple more hours for chipping, grinding the stumps and clean up. These guys were experts. All of the trees were near structures, 3 of them within just a couple of feet from the house. They brought in a crane and lifted out the logs. It was amazing to watch these guys in action. My neighbor had two trees thinned out and it took the guys 2 days, all day. Nice group of guys to work with. If you want quality work done in the least amount of time possible, call these guys. Did I mention, they are very competitive in pricing? You can't go wrong, unless you don't call them for a bid. Rarely write reviews, but these guys deserve a 5 star review. My experience with this company is very similar to Ed S. My neighbor hired this company to cut down some trees. Because one of the very large trees was on my property, the estimator knocked on my door to ask us for permission to cut our tree and give us a proposal. We did want the tree cut and therefore did not give permission. A few days later my daughter called me and said "there are some guys in a bucket truck cutting down our tree". I left work and confronted Chris Jr (the owners son). He said "whoops" and blamed it on his estimator. I called the office and finally spoke with Chris Sr (the owner). He came out to my house....what a joke. This guy is extremely rude. He admitted that his company made a mistake but "it was a bad tree anyway". When I told him that the branches from the tree were screening us from my neighbors yard he told me to go stand on my porch and I wouldn't be able to see the neighbors yard. I ordered a cord of Firewood from P & D due to the advertisement on the web site for "Seasoned Firewood." They delivered a cord of fir mix firewood early in the morning when it was still dark. Upon inspecting and trying to burn the wood, I came to the conclusion that the wood is wet and or unseasoned. I called the owner Chris the next business day to discuss my concerns about his services. He informed me that he would come out the next business day to address my conerns. After meeting with the owner, my wife and I noticed alcohol on his breath. When he came out, he did agree that some of the wood is wet and or unseasoned. Telling me further that the wood that was delivered was cut 3 weeks ago. Hello! Seasoned firewood has been cut down for a year. This raised reg flags at the time. We agreed that I would go through the wood and that any "wet / unseasoned" firewood, he would exchange for proper firewood. Plus throw in some cedar kindling for my trouble. I called the next business day and informed his office of how much would I will need to exchange. The next thing I know, the owner Chris shows up at my house unexpectedly, again with alcohol on his breath. I met him outside as he is at my wood shed ( just walks on my property unannounced). As he picks up the first piece of wood, he proceeds to call me a green dumb ass for not being able to burn his professed " seasoned firewood. " I quickly told him I wasn't going to argue with him and I wanted what his website advertises. SEASONED FIREWOOD. He again calls me a green horn dumb ass and I tell him to leave my property. Within 5 minutes he calls me on my cell phone saying that I don't know how to burn firewood and he would have hit me in the face if he wasn't on my property.... This is crazy! What owner of a company insults and threatens their customer's? What owner shows up to a customer's house smelling like alcohol? What business in their right mind treats their customer's like this?
