So let me be honest, I'm not a Pirates fan. However, we came for a work event and it was Dollar a dog day (that was nice) so I had two. I, also, got a massive IC Light and that was it. This park offers some great views of downtown and it is very friendly for all. I liked my second visit better as I had city views and I didn't have a bunch of kids who came to socialize and eat. All that said, I'll be back just because it is a good venue with easy access. read more

The stadium opens 90 minutes before first pitch, but I recommend going at least 2 hours early to take photos all around the outside of the stadium, and then again all around the inside of the stadium. This truly is the best stadium in baseball that I've been to. (I've been to 22 so far). Outside you can get your picture with so many different statues and monuments. I got my pic with Honus Wagner and his statue would be behind home plate outside on the street. Also, on the street I got my pic with Roberto Clemente who is in center field outside the stadium right by his yellow bridge. There's a Willie Stargell statue in Left Field. And lastly, outside there is a Bill Mazeroski statue at the end of the cul-de-sac in Right Field. There's an area for retired numbers outside the stadium along the river. There are also a bunch of baseballs of retired numbers along the water too. Inside the stadium there are bobblehead Pirate guys to get photos with all along the outfield. There's also a giant "P." The best views of the city and river basically anywhere inside the stadium. I love how much room there is on the concourse and how open it is. We walked around and took in the atmosphere. We bought seats way up top so we could watch the game and enjoy the view. Absolutely put this stadium on your bucket list. read more

Hard to imagine a more beautiful ballpark than PNC Park. As a season ticket holder, I am always excited each time I go! It has the most beautiful view of my city - it is always so inspiring. In addition to the great seating, tickets are very reasonably priced (compared to the rest of the league). Although the concession prices are kind of steep, the food is pretty decent (that is not why I go). I recommend sections 317-321 as the best seats. Come see me in Section 319! read more

One of the best spots in Pittsburgh. We went to our first Pup Night this week and it was a blast. They had bandanas for the dogs, treats, ice cream, a litter box situation, photos...all sorts of stuff. They put you in the roof top area which is a great space. We always love hitting up the Cinderlands bar when we go for local beer. You can't beat the views in this stadium. 100/10 recommend PNC Park read more

If it's your child's first visit, they can get a First Game Certificate! The staff were all very friendly and helpful in guiding us to our seats. When we were looking for them, they helped us find them quickly and smoothly. They even wiped down our seats because they were wet from the rain. It was a bit difficult to find our way around, and I wish there were clearer signs for the stairs, ramps, and restrooms, especially when the stadium was crowded. read more

I had a great time going for the Pirates game but I got incredibly lost. That's not the stadiums fault and every employee I spoke to was incredibly helpful and kind. I got a foot long corn dog but unfortunately it had been sitting in the window a long time and didn't sit right with me later in the night. I parked at the first avenue parking garage and took the T to North Shore. Parking was $6 and the T was free. I went for IUP night and it was fun to sit in the IUP section - would definitely go again! Baseball baseball baseball. read more

We were on town to see Dave Matthews Band at Star Lake and stayed in town to hit up a baseball game and wander around the area. We heard parking could be as high as $100 but we found a $20 lot a few blocks down so walked around the area and went in the stadium early, it wound up being a bobble head night. Paul Snedes had 11 strikeouts but the team couldn't pull it together, but it's always a nice night at the ballpark win or lose. read more

I have been a visitor of PNC Park off and on for about 12 years, but somehow I did not have a previous Yelp review for it... PNC Park opened in 2001 and is the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team. I have attended a couple of Pirates games here (I should attend more!), and I have enjoyed the beautiful views of the Allegheny River and city skyscrapers and not quite as much the losing performance of the Pirates... Most recently my husband's company held a holiday party in the Pittsburgh Baseball Club (PBC/C) Level, an indoor climate-controlled concourse. We had access to three private bars--Wigle Whiskey, Wigle Reserve, and City of Champions Bourbon--as well as concession stands--Il Forno Pizza, Bierbauer's Grill, Tenders Love Chicken, Bridges Burger Company, and a pasta station. The level also included lounge areas, pool tables, etcetera. We enjoyed eating the Rudolph's Spritzer (limoncello, vodka, cranberry juice, and Sprite), cheese and pepperoni pizza, nachos (which came in a cute mini Pirates hat!), chicken and vegan tenders with fries (the vegan tenders actually tasted decent), and sugar and toffee cookies. However, the made-to-order tortellini with vodka sauce and bacon was extremely oily, so we ate little of it. The employees spoke nicely with us, and I got to pose with The Pirate Parrot and the Pirate Pierogi Jalapeño Hannah. This company party also included a brief tour of the stadium. We saw the hallways, field, dugout, and clubhouse (locker room, coaches' offices, training area, etc. but with NO photos or videos allowed). read more

There's a reason why PNC Park was voted one of the best ballparks in America. The views from any seat in the stadium amazing. You get gorgeous views of Pittsburgh and beautiful fireworks for home runs and wins. We have been there for games and lots of concerts. Any seat in the house is a good seat for either type of event. The big screen is huge and the sound is fantastic. It's also easy to get to the top with escalators and elevators. There are also great concessions throughout all the park whether you want food or beer. They have concessions on all levels with American and local specialties. The people who work there are very nice, helpful and accommodating. read more

I recently went back to PNC park for a Pirates game. At this point, you are visiting the park for the insane views. The Pirates are....the Pirates. per usual, PNC park has a variety of food and drink options, so there's something for everyone. There's a good mix of sitting and standing areas throughout the park in case you don't want to sit at your ticketed seat. Prices are about average. But, go for the views! My wife happened to catch the ball during the game and gave it to a little child. I thought that was very nice. I went to the guest assistance area where she was signing certificates to give the children who went to their first game. My wife has never been to a game before where she caught the ball so I thought she might get a kick out of getting a certificate that said she caught them all, but gave it to a child. it seemed unnecessary that the woman looked like this was most confusing things she ever heard. I was not asking for anything unusual and just thought it might be nice for my wife since she gave away the ball. But she was very rude in terms of how she responded to my request. I don't write reviews often, but this experience was frustrating enough that I felt like I had to. We went to the soft serve/concessions stand at PNC Park and ended up waiting in line for almost an hour just to get one small cup of soft serve for my friend. An hour. For ice cream. At a certain point you start wondering if anyone working the stand actually cares that the line isn't moving. When we finally got to the front, I asked for popcorn, and the staff member told me they were "out" -- except that didn't add up, because it became clear he simply didn't have any bags left to put the popcorn in. Instead of doing literally anything to solve that (grabbing a bag from another stand, using a different container, anything), he just shrugged it off like it wasn't his problem. No apology, no effort, nothing. It was such an obviously fixable issue and he chose not to fix it. Then a manager came over on his own -- we never even asked for one -- and told me my purchase would be free because of the mix-up. I appreciated the gesture, or thought I did, until I got to the register and was charged for the popcorn anyway. So not only did I not get an apology that meant anything, I didn't even get the one small thing I was told I'd get. By the time we left, we'd spent close to an hour in line, gotten attitude instead of help, been told something was "out" when it wasn't really, been promised a free item we still had to pay for, and the soft serve itself wasn't even good. For a ballpark that charges premium prices, I expected basic competence and honesty, and got neither. Really disappointing way to spend part of a game, and I'll think twice before buying anything from that store again. read more

I got to experience Pittsburgh Pirates PNC Park on Sunday, June 14th. The stadium is located in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. The baseball tickets at PNC Park were very affordable. The Pittsburgh Pirates were playing the Miami Marlins, which was the team I was going for. Now, when baseball tickets were purchased, the game was supposed to start around 1:00 PM, but it was changed to 12:15 PM. Entering the building, there were no stairs; we came in from the side of the door, got our tickets scanned, got on the elevator by a staff, where a worker took us to our floor. Getting to the ballpark as well as getting inside wasn't bad. The PNC Park is an open stadium, and it was very hot and humid when I was there. Inside you'll see the different food places. I didn't eat at the ballpark since I had lunch at a restaurant before the game. Upon going to the seats, it was a beautiful view. I had to get pictures of the field, myself, and the background. My team, the Miami Marlins, won their match against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday June 14th. I truly enjoyed my time at PNC Park, and it's very beautiful too. I will come back to visit and try the PNC Park foods. read more

I always enjoy coming to PNC Park, and this visit was a little different for me since I usually sit in club seats but had tickets in Section 332 this time. The line to get in was definitely long, but once we made it through security, it was such a nice surprise that everyone received a bobblehead. That was a huge improvement compared to the Pittsburgh Pirates Mac Miller bobblehead night, where I didn't receive one even with club tickets. The seats in Section 332 were great--easy to access and offered a really good view of the game. Even with the rain delay, the park handled things pretty well overall. The only downside was the ground level area, which got very crowded and a bit difficult to move through, but that's to be expected with weather delays and big crowds. I usually make it to a game about once a week during the summer, and experiences like this are exactly why I keep coming back. Always a fun time at the ballpark! read more

Stadium 25/30. Finally got a chance to make it to PNC Park. What a BEAUTIFUL park! One of my new favorites...definite top 5, probably top 3. Met up with a friend that we grew up with for the game. Bought tickets on a resale seller about an hour before the game and we got tickets right behind home plate, with $5.00 concession credits on each ticket, for only $15.00 each! SCORE! As soon as we sat down, Ohtani hit his 100th Dodger HR. Pretty cool to see, live. The view from your seats of the skyline of Pittsburgh is unmatched in baseball stadiums. Its such a perfect view and vibe! Pirates beat the Dodgers which was awesome! Got to walk around the whole park and take pictures and see the statues outside the gates etc. Had a great night with an old friend and my Brother and will definitely try to attend more games here in the future! read more

The same is true for food .. lines don't get clogged up with people just wanting a drink. Restrooms are clean and plenty of them. The city shuts down traffic on block next to the stadium to create a great space with the bars to hang out and roam. I will say I was super impressed with our seats in section 212 row A seat 1-3. I had no idea i had bought club level seats. This section of seats had private interior club space for eating with tables and food options as well as outside standing tables as well. I don't think you can get a better view in all of sports - looking right out onto the river with the bridges and skyline framing the view from home plate. The experience was pretty cool - great status and retired number displays outside the ballpark, and plenty of cool spots inside the park as well. The food was a little underwhelming, but that's fine. After my mom died unexpectedly last year I wanted to get my dad a really good Father's Day gift this year. He loves baseball and our hometown Detroit Tigers and I figured he expected me to take him to a game like last year. Well, I had to one up that. I saw we had a whole series against the Pirates at Comerica Park the week after Father's Day and I thought what about a whole SERIES. Then I thought what about a whole series... on the road?? I figured we probably played in Pittsburgh as well and I did consider a couple other cities - Cleveland and Chicago but ultimately decided to book a trip to Pittsburgh largely because PNC Park is so highly regarded. I'd probably been more likely to choose the Windy City if the Tigers were playing at Wrigley instead of Rate Field. (Sorry, Eric S!) At any rate we had a great time in western Pennsylvania despite the first place Tigers spiraling into a horrific losing streak and dropping all 3 games to the last place Pirates. So I got a dugout full of Pittsburgh reviews on deck and what better to lead off than PNC Park. My experience with big league ballparks is very limited. Just the two we've had in Detroit during my lifetime and the old Exhibition Stadium in Toronto, a football stadium that had no business masquerading as a place to play baseball. PNC Park easily bests two of those three and Tiger Stadium, with all its poles but rowdy intimate atmosphere probably only tops PNC Park for sentimental reasons. Comerica Park gives a great view of a decent slice of the downtown Detroit skyline. PNC Park gives you the whole Pittsburgh pie. Not only glimmering highrises but the Roberto Clemente bridge and the Allegheny River and even pockets of trees in the mountainous city backdrop if you're sitting in the upper deck behind home plate like we did for the first game when Paul Skenes cleaned our clocks. PNC Park has that neo traditional ballpark look down pat. And they didn't go overboard with pirate themed details like the designers of Comerica Park did with tigers. Save that stuff for the mascot, the fans and the scoreboard. The 3 cannons firing graphic after visiting strikeouts was pretty slick even if I quickly got wary of it. Parts of the concourse look like your average stadium and parts look like a modern carpeted mall with bars, furniture pool tables to give people options for chilling if the Pirates are living down to expectations. Lots of fun paintings and prints of Pirates greats of the past are scattered throughout as well. I especially liked the Willie Stargell done Andy Warhol style. (Warhol is a Pittsburgh native soon to appear in this Yelp account.) Food and beverage was standard overpriced stadium fare, cashless only as I grudgingly figure all ballparks are now. They'll let you bring water in if you don't crack the bottle and we hit up a vendor near the shores of the Allegheny for two games. Game two we sat in the lower deck along the left field foul line and game three behind the Tigers dugout on the first baseline. All great views, both of the action on the field and the cosmopolitan Appalachian backdrop. (Yes, I'm calling it that; I hope I coined a new phrase.) Like I said the Tigers got swept and we saw lots of other Detroit fans subject to the same disappointment as us. The park never came close to selling out but I did feel for the Pirates fans getting a break from a typically brutal season and they were very gracious to us. I'd say don't bother trying to park on the north shore. It goes quick and walking across the Roberto Clemente bridge is a great tradition. You get to pass the Clemente statue and maybe Stargell, too depending on what gate you enter. My elderly dad lost his keys during the last game and we didn't confirm this til we had driven halfway out of town but a call to the lost and found convinced me to turn around. They saved the day by handing dad his keys back which removed any doubt for how many stars this park will get. I wouldn't mind checking out some more MLB ballparks but no matter how many I can get to I'm confident this will remain right near the top of the list. read more

What a beautiful ballpark! Truly, Pittsburgh has a lot to be proud of when it comes to the ballpark itself because the team certainly isn't doing much to bring a sense of pride to the city. I'm going to rank PNC as my second favorite park in the country, second only to my beloved Petco in San Diego. The entrance to this park is unlike anything else. You walk in through the stunning Roberto Clemente bridge and it's an epic walk that makes you feel like a soldier going to war. Crossing the river and up to the gates, even in the pouring rain this was an awesome experience. When inside you'll find some stellar vendors and some great bars that you can bounce around to if you don't want to sit in your seats the entire time - that's how I like to watch a game. Food/drink are on the cheaper side of things when it comes to ballpark goodies and the fans, for the most part are very nice... except for a few absolute a$$holes a few rows behind us Padres fans. I'm on a quest to see all 30 ball parks in the MLB and this is ballpark number 23 for me. This is also in my top three favorite ball parks. Everything about PNC Park is beautiful. The fans, the skyline, and the city of Pittsburgh. I wanted to sit up high so we could get a good view of the skyline. It was even more spectacular than I thought. Normally I'm one to walk around and take all the sites but this time I mainly stayed in my seat and enjoyed a beautiful spring day at the ballpark. It's impressive how loyal Pirates fans are and they show it by coming out to support their team. They're also friendly and welcoming to visitors too.
