Always on my list when visitors would come to town to see us. It's a must. You don't even have to be a tourist to enjoy this observation deck. Honestly, the views from the Mount Washington Observation Deck(s) don't deserve five stars, they deserve more, but that's all I can give them. Living in the city for many years, I never, ever took for granted that beautiful view overlooking Downtown Pittsburgh, and now, every time I go home, whether I'm by myself or traveling with someone, I make sure to stop by, enjoy the view, and of course take photos. You can access the decks a few ways: 1. If you take the incline up from Station Square you're just a simple walk to one of the decks. 2. If you drive, you can park anywhere on Grandview Avenue to get to a deck. Both options have some fee associated with it, but neither are much. What's also great is that the decks are close to other attractions in Mount Washington as well. That being said, the decks are what you're here for. They are large and secure- I know a lot of people afraid of heights whom I've forced to get on there with me to get photos. You can see from miles away. You see the stadiums. You see Downtown. You see the South Side. You see it all. Sometimes it's rainy. Sometimes it's smoggy. Sometimes, just sometimes, it's sunny. But it's always home. And truthfully, it's the most magnificent way to see such a beautiful city. It takes your breath away. Pittsburgh doesn't get enough credit, in many ways, but if you take anyone up here, there is no way they can deny the view and the beauty that is the Steel City- Pittsburgh-The 412, or as most of us call it- Home. read more

Pittsburgh is quite an awesome city. This observation deck only enhances its beauty even more. Whether you just came up from one of the inclines or was already perusing through the Mt. Washington neighborhood, this observation deck will more than likely be nearby and worth the stop. It's interesting how downtown Pittsburgh is set up; it's almost like a mini Manhattan. Or at least, those were some thoughts that came through my head while standing on this deck. It's one of the best photo ops you could get of downtown and you should at least spend ten minutes here to get it all in. It's well worth it! read more

One of the best views of the city, a breathtaking look at Downtown from atop Mt Washington. You will find this circular platform very close to the top of the Month Incline. It's a great way to stop and enjoy the sights while you enjoy a stroll along Grandview Ave. I sometimes see buskers here, and I figure their tips are pretty good. Many of the restaurants along Grandview are pricey, so this is an inexpensive way to enjoy the overlook. Parking is tight, but I often find street parking nearby. read more

Whether you've been in this city as long as I have or you're seeing it for the first time, the view of Pittsburgh from Mount Washington is one of the best. And just to make sure you catch the best view possible, there are a couple of observation decks built into the hillside of Mount Washington, linked directly to Grandview Avenue, set between our city's two inclines. The conveniently placed overlooks allow you to take in the sight of the downtown area and Golden Triangle from slightly different angles, at least on the Mon River side. As a result the overlooks are quite popular beauty spots, especially for students snagging photos before a dance. I recommend the following for a full viewing experience - #1: give yourself time to walk up and down this stretch of sidewalk, so you can enjoy the view from more than one of the decks laid out on Grandview. #2: visit during the day at least once, because Pittsburgh looks amazing under a blue sky. And #3: visit again during or after sunset, because Pittsburgh looks amazing when it's lit up at night, too. Don't just hang out for the view, by the way: there are also shops and eateries you could visit during your outing to this beautiful area. Why make the trek or drive here and not take full advantage of what there is to enjoy? *Pro-tip: street parking can be hard to find, though there are a couple garages in the area. Riding the incline up is my recommendation if you can swing it, as it adds to the experience and saves you the hassle of worrying about finding a spot in a busy area. read more

A Pittsburgh must see! The Grandview overlook is a awesome place to come to at any time of the year from a good view of the city. The seasons always add a good touch to the experience as well. There's a few overlooks on the mount Washington hillside but this one is probably my favorite. Parking is always available on the street yes it does sometimes get crowded but it's a fun place to come for a photo shoot, fresh air, eat your lunch here anything! It's always well maintained by the city to I must say there's never trash or anything. Overall I highly recommend checking this overlook out if you haven't already! read more

Absolutely breathtaking views of Pittsburgh from high on the hills. Came here on a weekday and there was no one around. I wasn't even sure if I had come to the right place because it was so empty. Parked right in front. Didn't even bother feeding the meter since I can almost touch my car from the observation deck. No meter maids were going to ruin my day. Guess you can always take the inclines up but this is free (plus parking). read more

This is a must see for any visitor we have in Pittsburgh. The views are unmatched. My friend and I went today and the weather was perfect. The parking on the street can be challenging depending on the time of day but it's worth a visit. We actually enjoy the observation deck where we are looking at Point State Park and both stadiums.
