JV Cabinets - Kitchen Remodel #Refacing

    JV Cabinets

JV Cabinets earns my highest recommendation for anyone considering cabinet refacing or new cabinet…read moreinstallation. From the very first visit, Paul set himself apart from other contractors I had met with -- he arrived fully prepared with a variety of material and color samples, thoroughly explained the refacing process, covered warranty details, took measurements, and even designed the layout, all in a single appointment. There was never any pressure to sign, which I genuinely appreciated. When questions came up after his visit, Paul responded quickly with a phone call followed by a detailed email complete with photos and examples. That level of follow-through is hard to find. Once I signed the contract, Jaime came by to confirm measurements and listen to my ideas, translating them into a well-defined project plan. The results speak for themselves -- everything was completed ahead of schedule. The cabinet refacing surpassed my expectations, and the material we selected not only looks stunning but feels great and is effortless to clean. The new coffee bar in the living room has become an absolute showstopper, and the added cabinets in the laundry area are both practical and well-crafted. Miguel, who handled the final installation, was a true professional -- communicative, courteous, and a pleasure to have in our home. The team wrapped up with a thorough walk-through and left everything immaculate. I've already recommended JV Cabinets to friends and family, and I would do so again without hesitation.

After completing the project and later comparing with other options, it became clear that the pricing was not aligned with the level of quality we received. The paint has started rubbing off within a year, the drawer hardware feels very low quality (mostly plastic), and the drawers did not close properly from the installation. The drawer slides and soft-close mechanisms are low quality, feel cheap and unreliable, and the slide system doesn't function properly. With our prior Ikea drawers, which had metal throughout, that was never an issue. These are fundamental issues that should not occur at this price point. Support was also a challenge. Communication felt defensive, and we had to follow up multiple times just to get someone to come out for fixes. Based on our experience, we would not recommend JV Cabinets. There are other providers offering solid wood cabinets with noticeably better build quality and finish for similar, or lower cost.

My house was built in 1962 and most of my bathroom components were original. I wanted to have both…read morebathrooms remodeled because they were both very ugly and depressing. I had several contractors stop by to give me estimates - a lot of contractors were very sloppy in their estimates, telling me they would give me a bathroom in five days or asking me to buy all the supplies, etc (as if I would know what to get), or telling me they can do it for $5k without permits. Anywho, Ivan from Vitex stopped by and asked a lot of questions on what kind of vision I had, and when I did not know an answer, he made suggestions. For example, he suggested I add a shower light - that's something I did not think of at all - and also pointed out things that were required for code upgrades, etc. The entire process was very transparent. After I received the quote, I met Ivan at the warehouse in Rancho Cordova and he helped me pick out the tile for the wall and the floor. Again, I'm clueless and he made the right recommendations that made sense. The crew arrived on day one and these guys work hard and other than their lunch breaks, they don't stop until the end of the workday. The workers were very pleasant and diligent. Very friendly. I really enjoyed having them here and they did excellent work. Once they were done, I proceeded to hire Vitex for bathroom #2, which involved removing a jet tub to build a walk in shower. This time I worked with Arthur, who was also excellent and the same worker crew. They did an excellent job with that bathroom, as well. What also helped was being in touch with Victor, the owner, via group text to keep me up to date on the project, etc. Also, for anyone doing their due diligence, Vitex is fully licensed and the work they did passed the City of Sacramento's inspection, so these guys are legit. I'll definitely recommend them to anyone I know looking for bathroom remodeling and will use them for future tile work. Thank you, Vitex! -Josh

It's the kind of space people walk into and say, "This looks like a Nancy Meyers movie." Every detail feels intentional, elegant, and timeless. I have very high standards, and James and his team met them at every turn. I'm endlessly grateful for the care and craftsmanship they poured into this project. Their pricing was competitive, the cabinets are very high quality, their team was super easy to work with, and the finished cabinets are beautiful. Their installers also installed everything. Their customer service is excellent. We won't hesitate to call them for our next cabinet project!

From the very beginning, he was incredibly helpful and truly understood the scope of the project and the timeframe I was aiming for. Given the complexities of other projects happening simultaneously, Tobias navigated everything with professionalism and clear communication. He set realistic expectations and timelines, which made the entire process much smoother. The final result exceeded my expectations--the new floors look fantastic! The team efficiently demoed the old flooring, reattached the baseboards, and even installed beautiful tile in the bathrooms. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work and the service I received. I highly recommend NG Flooring and give them a well-deserved five-star rating!

From start to finish, the crew was efficient, professional, and extremely respectful of our home and family. They worked hard, kept things clean, and delivered beautiful results. The difference is night and day. What truly sets Stan apart is his patience and integrity. He dropped off numerous wood samples in different colors, finishes, sizes, and styles, and never once seemed frustrated, even as we went back and forth trying to decide. He even included my kids in the process, listened to their opinions, and made them feel part of the decision. They absolutely LOVE the new floors and were thrilled to say goodbye to the old carpet. The moment that really blew me away? Stan proactively gave me a rebate for materials that weren't used. That level of honesty is rare. I'm honestly torn writing this because I want to tell everyone how great he is... but I also don't want him getting so busy that I can't book him again! We'll absolutely be using N G Floors for our upcoming bathroom remodels. Highly, highly recommend.

We had our kitchen remodeled using the contractors and staff at the Sacramento Kitchen Mart…read morefacility. It's hard to know where to begin because the experience with KM is so different from that experienced with typical contractors. Communication. Typically a major frustration with contractors was in fact excellent with KM. Emails and calls were returned in a timely manner and they go to great lengths to explain the process and provide a detailed timeline. Duration of work. We had gotten estimates of 4-6 months to complete our remodel; KM was finished in a little over a month. They stuck to their schedule (despite problems that arose with suppliers) and always communicated any changes that were required. They handled all of the permitting requirements, and in Davis that is not a small task. Notable is that a KM staffer came to the house the day of final inspection and looked at the whole house for potential problems. He replaced ALL of our smoke detectors at no cost just to make sure there were no problems with the inspection. The Davis inspector was very impressed with the work and passed the job without any concerns. Quality of work. We had superb craftsmen work on our project; John and Zachary and Joe were all just excellent. They took pride in their work, showed up on time, and always communicated what they were doing. They took great pains to minimize dust and overall mess. Huge sheets of plastic were placed floor to ceiling to localize the dust and debris. Sheets of protective material were placed on the floor. Everything was done in a professional manner. The supervisor of our project, Edgar, was remarkable in watching over the project and being there whenever needed. Sourcing of materials. KM can provide pretty much everything you need with regards to cabinets, fixtures and some appliances. The quality of all materials from KM was excellent and so much more convenient than searching it out on your own. I have to add, however, that their recommended appliance source, A-1 appliance, was very disappointing. A-1 failed to order our rangetop despite it being paid for well in advance, and their installers were incompetent and rude. Our project foreman, Edgar, intervened and was a lifesaver in getting a rangetop in time to prevent a major delay, and in fixing the poor installation provided by A-1. Cost. We had many estimates for our remodel and KM was far from the highest. Their estimate was very accurate and very reasonable considering the quality of work, convenience, and the speed with which the work was done. In summary, Kitchen Mart stands way way above the pack when it comes to the often tedious and stressful process of remodeling your home. They offer a one stop solution, do superb work at a reasonable price, and complete the work in a very timely fashion. We plan to have them do our bathrooms and in fact would not consider anyone else.

I love my kitchen and I've also approached him about a future project. I had a basic 1970's era condo kitchen-outdated but can't really change the footprint. I tried to revive it with refacing. It still didn't function well, but I worked around it. A leak in the wall behind the cabinets, forced an unexpected remodel. I received estimates from several contractors using stock or RTA "IKEA" kitchen cabinets. The cabinets I saw in these stores did not seem as sturdy as my existing cabinets. I couldn't customize and would have similar unusable spaces where the pre-made cabinets are put together. The contractors and pre-made cabinet stores told me custom cabinets would cost twice as much as their estimates. While looking for design ideas, I saw multiple Houzz and Reddit posts stating a local carpenter could give me custom cabinets at a much better price. I am so glad I paid attention to the posts! That's how I found Sacramento Millworks. His price for my project was comparable to the quotes I received for stock cabinets. Raymond is a carpenter and a designer. Because of his experience, he handled everything. He walked me through everything, including a trip to the granite and tile shops. I just picked colors. He was very patient. Most of contractors I've worked with recently send employees to do the work. They just pop in here and there until it's time for payment. Raymond was on site working with one helper everyday. I really appreciated that!

I walked into the store, there were 3 workers and 2 customers. I watched their interaction. It was very positive, formal, professional, nice, and friendly. I was respectfully waiting my turn. I looked around for the store for my item so that I could help them be more efficient and save time. After 5 minutes, I saw that all 3 workers are free. I was hoping one of them would help me, but I give them the benefit of the doubt that they might be busy. So I waited patiently. After 2 minutes, 2 of the female workers stared me down and walked away to their back corners and went to their computers as if I'm a peasant. Not sure what I did to deserve that. That leaves me with 1 guy left. I stand in proximity waiting for help. After another 3 minutes of standing in front of his desk, I respectfully ask for help.
