This place is soo damn delicious. But CAUTION t will burn a hole in your pocket for how much it costs but it is SO FREAKIN GOOD. The acai bowls were hands down the best I've ever had. Everyone there is very friendly but the food comes out pretty slow. Our order of an acai bowl with protein and cacao granola, pitaya bowl with protein and spirulina granola, and a zoodle bowl ran us up $75. Kind of insane but it was the best acai bowl I've ever had. The granola was so good that we asked where we could buy it but they made it in house! We stayed at the 1 hotel so the location wasn't that odd that it was in the back of the hotel through the gym. The bowls were so beautiful and the space is gorgeous! (great lighting for selfies/instas) Although the place is very pricey, you pay for what you get and that is bomb dot com food. (18% service fee is automatically added, smoothie is ~$12 but bowl is ~$16) I can't wait to stay at the hotel again and get breakfast here. PS check in for complementary kombucha! read more

Beautifully designed Expensive - which I have zero problems with if you provide a high end service... but this is not that MCT is listed all over the menu, so I asked for a coffee blended with MCT oil and reishi. (Bulletproof basically) I was told they didn't have MCT but they have coconut oil, I said that was fine. But she didn't blend it, she literally just put a scoop of oil into my coffee, called it a day and charged me $10.98. You would think at such a health conscious place they would have a bulletproof option somewhere in the hotel. read more

It was a bit disappointed that the tip was automatically included before receiving any service. The food was really good but was lacking considering it was a Miami spice menu. You can get $75 steaks for $23 in other spice participating restaurants. Granted, this is a vegan restaurant but the portions and the options were the equivalent of an appetizer. Plnt House is actualy quite good. If you are vegetarian/vegan then it will surely be a treat. It's hard to find as it's in a section of the 1 Hotel toward the beach side. The menu is certainly healthy but I found it to be very overpriced. I really enjoyed everything that I had (went for Miami Spice lunch) and felt that the mango cheesecake is a standout. The restaurant is actually lovely and the staff was very friendly and service was very much above average. Yes, when compared to Plant Food & Wine diners will feel a bit let down, but then again this was never meant to compete with the other offering from Matthew Kenney. Higher than 3 stars and just under 4 is where I would rate this restaurant. The view from the deck area as well as from most parts of the restaurant will put your mind at ease. The employees are very nice and welcoming and also efficient. My mouth was watering when I saw they served avocado toast--however, I was nervous that perhaps like many places they wouldn't offer a good ratio of avocado to toast. However, I was very pleasantly surprised! In fact, I think I ended up with some leftover avocado! You will have to place the order yourself at the counter and you will be charged 18% for service. If you need to wait in line and order the food yourself I believe 18% for service is outrageous. Let me start by saying, the design of this restaurant is perfection. It is modern, natural, and clean. Very in line with the 1 hotel brand. The food is pretty good, everything is vegan and not being a vegan myself, i don't mind the food so much. Like most health food places, it's pretty pricey but that's expected of a restaurant in a nice hotel. I can get over that. The biggest issue with this space is how long things take. I stood in line for 10 minutes behind one other person who was ordering. One employee was at the espresso machine for a while and the other at the register. Stopped by Plnthouse after a massage and on my way to the beach. It's new, modern, and very hipster. It is right by the pool and beach exit on the 2nd floor. I thought it had a great variety of options such as breakfast bowls, lunch bowls, avocado toast, smoothies/juices, even homemade kombucha. I did think it was a little pricey for what it was, but then again its South Beach and it is inside a hotel so it's within range. Will visit again if I am ever in the area! read more

After reading many reviews on this place, we were confused as to if this café had an unhealthy transformation or not. The menu is the same as it is online, with all of the food being mostly plant based. While there are a couple of exceptions, this place still has very good food. We ordered the Anatomy protein shake and the avocado toast and both were VERY good. You can certainly find something healthy on the menu, if you want to go out to lunch with a friend that doesn't like vegan/vegetarian food there are options for them too. I would recommend this place to a newcomer, as the decorations and ambience are fantastic and stunning. The staff was very friendly and the food came incredibly quick. While this cute restaurant was hard to find, if you take the elevator to the third floor (floor M), you can follow the signs that point to the gym, spa, and Plnthouse. You walk through the spa, walk all the way through the gym, and the café is at the end. If you get confused, the staff in the gym or spa are very friendly and are more than happy to help you find your way. Overall, I would come here again. read more

The staff is nice but the food is just plain awful and super over-priced. Two smoothies, and acai bowl and a salad was $75. The smoothies are served in a regular biodegradable plastic cup with a paper straw so you can take it to the beach but they cost $15 each, the acai bowl was small and just so so, and the kale and white bean salad was drenched in oil and terrible. Plnthouse, an all vegan restaurant located in the 1 Hotel in Miami Beach, represents some of what I love about going out for vegan food, and some what I - to be kind - don't so much love. But you can't talk about the food at Plnthouse without first talking about everything but the food at Plnthouse. Plnthouse - the restaurant, not the food - is the apotheosis of why people move to Miami. My wife and I went on an early-February weekend, and while much of the country was scraping ice off their windshields and Googling the symptoms of frostbite, we took in 180 degree views of the Atlantic Ocean and sunbathers on the lanai. The space is magnificent, particularly for a casual, pool-adjacent restaurant. The decor is minimalist and neutral, and yet, simultaneously, you'll probably spend most of your meal unable to ignore its perfection. Now for the food...and what I loved about it. A few bites in and it becomes apparent that Plnthouse is not the creation of an amateur. It is not the result of someone who once made a solid batch of vegan cookies for his friends and was then convinced by them that he should open a vegan restaurant (the he, in this case, is Matthew Kenney). It is utterly clear that the menu is the brainchild of someone who has spent much of his time thinking about and experimenting with how to bring innovation to vegan food. I've had plenty of veggie burgers, but never one with beet ketchup and sunflower cheese. I've had lots of veggie wraps, but never one served with a side of cashew(?) jalapeno sauce. Like most home cooks, I get stuck in ruts of cooking the same dishes over and over, or slight variations of those same dishes over and over. Eating at Plnthouse reminded me that a little imagination in the kitchen can create an entirely novel experience at the table. Now for the food...and what I didn't so much love. According to Wikipedia, a slider is a small sandwich typically about 2 inches across. I don't know that the burger at Plnthouse qualifies as one, but it was close (to clarify, it was supposed to be a regular sized burger). I shared it with my wife and my half was about three bites, notwithstanding the large pretzel bun it was served on. The Banh Mi contained eggplant and pickled veggies and came wrapped in an overwhelming amount of raw collard greens. Strip away the expensive decor of the restaurant and the celebrity chef behind it, and the wrap felt like something you might get in the prepared sandwich section of Whole Foods. And for a counter-service restaurant, the prices are kind of outrageous. The burger and wrap we got were two of the least expensive items on the menu, which along with the two small chocolate chip cookies we got for dessert, ended being over $40. You might think it's a mistake, but their smoothies range from $12 to $20. Yes, it's that kind of place. Although I have no plans (or cravings) to run back to Plnthouse, I am sure I will go again at some point: partly because of how interesting the food is, and partly because of a lack other choices. Any Miamian serious about veganism should have Plnthouse on their list of places to try once. As for trying it a second time, that's your call. read more
