Broken machine
Kim Y.

Never again- booked my daughters party here and it was a shitshow starting with check in- we checked in and they only checked in my daughter and gave her a bracelet- then told us to wait to the side- when our party hostess came she told us we all needed to go back to the counter cause we should have checked in the kids individually already- which makes sense- just don't know why the first person didn't tell us that and made us wait. Half the games didn't work- the toddler section had a lot of down rides and games as well, two kids in the party didn't have a working gun for lazer tag so it wasn't any fun for them. Pizza and cake were fine- party host was friendly. I signed up for the birthday package to do lazer tag and go karts- our group was bigger 13 kids and the kids waited in line- they asked if they could all go together but there wasn't enough cars- so they were fine with splitting up the group- the kid working the area told them to get out of line and he would accommodate them. They were literally next in line so I'm not sure why they had to leave the line- He never came back and when I asked him why they had to get out of line and when they would be able to go he told me "I don't know we are pretty packed tonight". But they were next in line so it doesn't make sense- by that time the party was over and kids had to go home. Kids took their cards to cash out for prizes and the scanner to count tickets didn't work. Shocking.. so now no go karts- no cash out from the games. I spoke to the manager and he completely dismissed any of my concerns. I paid for a package to include two activities- he told me I can just come back any other time and use the card for go karts.. That's not the point. We don't live in the area and I'm not packing up 13 kids to come back and go to on go karts when I paid for a certain package for them to do that day. We will not be back. Thanks for absolutely nothing and a total waste of my money. I would suggest lowering your prices if you can't provide the full services of what you are offering.

Clean and organized...but you will pay for the quality of the place. Yep, the price does add up. 45 minutes of inflatable fun: $17.50 per person (weekday price). Then, add on $50 of arcade time. BUT...it is worth it in my opinion. I got to sit and chill in the super-clean food area and relax. My kids knew where to find me and it was right by the bathrooms (also clean). This is a Pepsi establishment and they serve alcohol! White Claw, Modelo, Bud Light, Heineken, and some unique bottled beers to name a few. Plus, there are juice boxes and Gatorades for sale, as well. Popcorn, pizza, ice cream. Allergy-conscious! The video games were very interactive and not your usual run-of-the-mill games. Very innovative! My kids had a blast! So did I. I wish I would have brought my work computer so I could have gotten work done.

Ots a fun place. But they charge a little too much for the games. You put credits in the card, and each ride or games takes too much credit out. Still, it was fun and very clean

None of the games work, staff is awful and the place is a ghost town for a reason. It cost us $15 in game credits to play a few games and we got one piece of candy as a prize. Jose in the restaurant is so rude and we were the only ones in there and It took 16 mins for a hot dog. He came out, put the hot dog on the counter and said "NO REFUNDS"

This was a fun place to take my 4 year old. It's pricey but worth it for a few hours of fun. We spent about $82 on a card for the Go Kart and arcade games. Then another $30 for food. It was definitely more crowded by mid-afternoon on a Sunday so going there a little before lunch was ideal.

The Play & Spin charges are no longer pending. The charges are officially finalized on my debit card.
Crista T.

Beware, when using your debit card at Play & Spin, use cash only. If your card is charged twice by their system due to an error, you will not receive a refund at all. They ripped me off without a trace of remorse. Manager assistant Jose mentioned that he could not print me out a receipt because their system was down, but he mentioned, if I was charged he would personally refund me. Despite Jose's promises, I didn't receive a refund. When I call him, he played confused and avoided me. In my inquiry to Play & Spin Manager Patrick, he attributed the problem to technology, asking how the system could act in that manner. PJ, aka Patrick, told me to send him an email of the charges on my card and the date I arrived. l sent him substantial proof via email. Even a few pictures of me and my family at the establishment. It took him a while to reply back to me. Thus, I sent another email regarding his excuses, avoidance and the dishonesty of the company. He replied to the same email thread and claimed that he had never received any proof. In conclusion, Manager Patrick and his assistant Jose are dishonest individuals. After three weeks of being ignored, I contacted my bank. My card was closed and I was refunded. They also mentioned that it was theft because Play & Spin took more money off my card than they should've. I paid $52 for play credits and they charged me an extra $25.91. If you all need it that badly, enjoy. BTW WAY, Play & Spin Go carts are extremely slow and there's plenty of game machines that are out of order. I promise to leave a lengthy review with proof.... I'm usually not one for kids parties and the craziness associated with that, but Play and Spin might just change my mind. Inside this large building, you'll find an arcade, go kart track, laser tag, restaurant/cafe, and a mani/pedi spa. You read that right. This place has the adults in mind, and that's a relief. There's some couches that you can lounge around in, if you don't want to chase around your kids! Like other game places, you'll have money loaded on to a card for you to swipe to your heart's content. There's not an overwhelming number of games, but what is available is fun and in good shape. Air hockey table too! My kids and I had the most fun with the go karting. Be sure to tell your kids not to bump each other because the race will pause if karts get jammed up. The food at this place is also decent. Only had the pizza, but it's slightly above par for the field. Are you still reading this? What are you waiting for? Go have some fun already!

Long line no one to help us. 20min wait while employee was in back room trying to help another angry customer
Kerri T.

Wait wait and wait some more. If you experience any issues with your card not working there in only one person at front who works the line. We probably waited 20minutes because another customer was arguing about issues with their card. Keep in mind there were about 15 people in line and about 4 employees in little back room and NO ONE came out to assist the singular front desk employee. How do you have so many people walking in and out of a side room but not one qualified to help paying customers in front? There are plenty of games for kids and plenty of areas for adults to lounge (bar, nails, food court) BUT they really need to up their customer service! You play a lot to play....so please have more than one employee working the front desk.

Pizza is good. Kids and adults like the idea. Just need more variety of games and a better deal as it can be pricey for the games.

How young can kids be to come here?

Are there go carts for adults?

Yes kids and adults can do the go carts! For a kid to go on their own they need to be 54" tall or must ride with an adult.

Do I need to reserve a time or just show up? What if it's full (do they turn people away)?

Unless you're planning a party, you just show up. I can't imagine it ever really being "full" because it's a pretty large place.

I would like to know if it is possible to hold birthday reservations and if so how much is the cost? can reservations be held for the go carts or laser?

Yes, they were able to reserve go kart time for my friends party. I'm sure you can do laser tag too

But the K1 Speed Buffalo Grove location is easily the worst I've ever been to. I want to be clear. This incident has lost our business completely and to be even more clear...because of very very poor management. From the moment we walked in, things felt disorganized and poorly managed. The experience quickly went downhill. Rude staff, lack of clear communication, and an overall feeling that nobody there really had control of what was going on. Empty on a Friday. What's more concerning is that the lack of organization didn't just feel frustrating, it felt unsafe at times. When a place involves high-speed racing, there's no room for sloppy management or confusion. The environment should feel controlled and professional, and this felt like the opposite. The most frustrating part was dealing with the general manager, Nick Hurst. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or even show basic understanding, he came across as dismissive and unwilling to help. When issues come up, leadership is supposed to step in and fix them, not make customers feel like they're the problem. What's disappointing is that this doesn't feel like a K1 issue it feels like a this location specifically issue. I've had good experiences elsewhere, which makes this one stand out even more, in the worst way. At the end of the day, there are plenty of entertainment options in the area that value your time and money more than this place does. I would strongly recommend choosing a different location if you're set on K1. If anyone from K1 upper management is reading this, seriously, take a hard look at what's happening here. Between the poor management and the safety concerns, this location isn't just underperforming, it's actively damaging your brand and right now it feels like it shouldn't even be operating in its current state. Would be more than happy to share more.

ONCE UPON A TIME.......IN LOMBARD…read more This beloved indoor entertainment center is still hanging in there after 40+ years. I'll admit, I didn't have "attend a work outing at Enchanted Castle" on my 2025 bingo card, yet here we are. I found myself reminiscing about birthdays from the past, how many tokens I spent here as a preteen, and what on earth I was doing at a kids entertainment center with a group of engineers. As they've been since 1983, Enchanted Castle on Roosevelt Rd in Lombard is a one-stop shop for fun.  They have party rooms, a large arcade with ticket counter and 7-8 different attractions.  It's like a bigger version of Chuck E Cheese with a medieval theme, a Dave & Busters aimed at kiddos. You can pay for things a la carte, or get a $40 "max pack" that gets you a $15 game card and access to any 3 attractions.  Our large group hit up the arcade, mini golf, laser tag, and go karts.  One staffer helped us out during our time here, and kudos to her for being patient when we couldn't make up our minds on what to do next. I'll start with the best: the go karts ($9/pp).  Although the track itself is small and not terribly exciting, these go karts were peppy and handled well.  You get a decent number of laps, too, and it must be popular enough to warrant having its own dedicated entrance off to the right - Castle Karts. Next came laser tag ($9/pp).  The packs seemed heavy, but the guns were very accurate IMO.  It was a 'capture the flag' objective and despite a small arena, there was just enough space to move around.  They also have Route 66 mini bowling ($5/pp), bumper cars ($5/pp), a scaled down 'Scrambler' type ride ($5/pp), and a playground area with slides ($5/kid). The glow in the dark Black Knight's "Adventure" Golf ($7/pp) was the weak link of the bunch.  9 holes of poorly lit, uninspired putt putt with odd scenery choices - they couldn't decide between skeletons or squires - and lazy hole design led to several in our group bailing partway through.  One girl even twisted her ankle walking around an obstacle!  This is an area that could definitely benefit from a facelift or new attraction. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, Enchanted Castle had a 3D motion theater that played several iWerks films like Dino Island, Alpha One Cowboy, and Red Rock Run.  This wild motion simulator was always the highlight of my visit, but I can't find ANY record of it in web archives..... was this a fever dream?? Their arcade has a mix of new and old, lots of ticket redemption games with flashy shoot-em-ups sprinkled in.  They had Beat Saber VR (for a whopping 24 credits) as well as some vintage games like the one where you use an air cannon to shoot out the clown's teeth.  Many years ago, they had a dedicated area for pinball machines....now they have none.  *sigh* I expected very little from the food and was pleasantly surprised.  The italian beef ($12) was pretty good, no complaints about the fries.  The large appetizer platter ($40) had a little bit of everything: 7 mozza stix, 7 wings, 7 tenders, 12 mini tacos, and 8 pretzel sticks with dipping sauces.  They also had beer on tap @ $6.50 per pint, not too bad. * TL;DR * Enchanted Castle is supposed to be for young'ins, but if you have fun here as a grown-up I won't tell anyone. Being in business for 43 years is no small feat, especially when you consider the sweeping effect COVID had on the realm of indoor entertainment.  I'm amazed (and relieved) that Enchanted Castle's drawbridge has stayed open despite so much volatility in the world.  I don't imagine that the handful of folks we saw on a Thursday afternoon is representative of how much foot traffic EC actually gets. Here's to hoping they have many more years ahead of them, making joyful memories for scores of kids in the western Chicago suburbs.  I'd hate to see an indelible part of my childhood be gone for good. "The handsome prince raced his mighty steed around the go kart track, while the beautiful princess enjoyed several games of Skee-Ball.  And they played happily ever after!"

When buying tickets online, you have to select a time slot, but that feature is completely useless. You can arrive whenever on your ticketed date and stay as long as you'd like. The problem is that on busy nights you face extremely long lines for the attractions and the park is over crowded- especially during COVID! There was no capacity limit set, no one (staff especially) was wearing masks, even though we were outside, social distancing wasn't enforced, and the props (axe, golf clubs and balls, go kart machines) weren't cleaned after each guest. Every attraction we headed to there was a long line, at least a 30 minute wait-- go karts have the longest line. Overall, Neon Summer is a nice concept, but they need better time management and crowd control because it was not enjoyable to wait 30+ minutes in every line, including the bars. If I were to go back it would be on a weekday or in the afternoon. The park is open to kids and adults, and kids can do all of the activities except axe throwing. On the website it states closed toe shoes must be worn, but that wasn't enforced. Staff was friendly and easy to talk to.
