My kids hand a great couple of hours today enjoying the different set ups across the large space. The place was clean and well staffed. There is plenty of space to run around and it doesn't feel crammed even when they are hosting a birthday party like one today. Check in was easy and the punch card offers a good deal at $100 for 4 weekday and 2 weekend punches. I also scored a $5 discount for becoming a member and another $5 by getting a coupon their website and that made it totally worth it. There is good food selection of pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets , popcorn, ice cream and slushies but we don't eat today so I can't comment on quality and taste but hope to be back soon. read more

I can't believe I haven't left a review until now--this place is amazing! It's my son's absolute favorite spot! Every time we come, he has a blast. There are so many options, activities, and fun things to do that he never knows where to start! There's also a small restaurant inside the play area, which is super convenient if you get hungry, and they have special rooms available for party bookings. If you create an account, you earn points every visit, which you can later redeem for little "gifts"--such a fun bonus! On a cold autumn Saturday, I had dad brain and totally misread a text message, leaving us without plans for the day. We were a bit far from home and our kid was getting restless, so I looked up nearby indoor playgrounds and ended up here. It was $25 since it was a weekend until they closed at 6pm. Our kiddo had a fun time! It's not as gargantuan as some other playgrounds, but they have a baby and toddler area, and it's multi-story so there's a lot of climbing and sliding. They also have an area with a bunch of riding vehicles, and most fun of all was the ball room. I thought a place called ball factory would have more...balls? But the ball room is basically a room with air cannons that let you load and shoot these soft play balls around the room. It's surprisingly pretty fun even for the adults to fire off a few rounds. And as someone who has been to a few of these indoor playgrounds, I'm grateful you don't have to buy their proprietary socks. Like I went to one place that wanted grippy socks - and we had grippy socks, but they weren't theirs! Some places need better insurance policies I guess, so I'm glad the Ball Factory isn't insanely strict. What's also nice is there's a Polish grocery next door, so I grabbed a few items while my wife stayed here. Our only gripe is there could be more seating in the play area for us parents to catch up on our phones, but at least the food area has a lot of space. And kids even get a free ball on the way out! Overall I think we'll come back, but we'll be sure to eat lunch before and dinner after since outside food isn't allowed. read more

We have been to the Naperville location several times as we are big fans. So we decided to give Mount Prospect a try for a slight change of scenes. Overall, the play equipment at both locations are similar with the exception of some layout differences. We recently hosted our daughter's fifth birthday party at the Mount Prospect location on a Saturday morning. Our party had +20 adults and +20 children ranging from 2 to 9 years old. We booked the family party package that included two private rooms for two hours and unlimited playing time. The rooms were more than enough space for our party. Our package included a ball for each child to take home and juice, soft drinks, water, pizza, and chicken nuggets. We ordered extra pizzas to accommodate the parents. We were not rushed to clear the party rooms even though our two hours was up. Our assigned host was helpful and patient. Our girls had a blast and they did not want to leave even though we had already spent +4 hours there. Some of their favorite activities were imagination playground, toddler area with massive Lego blocks, obstacles section with the tall slides, and tractor area. There were plenty of staff in the play areas and the facility was well-maintained and clean. We would definitely revisit! read more

When you're looking for stuff to do with your kids, you have 3 main questions: 1. Will my kid have fun? 2. Will it make my kid tired enough to sleep? 3. Can I do this without spending a fortune? Ball Factory gets a yes on 2/3 of those questions. Your kids will have fun. They will get tired. But the price is pretty darn steep. (I believe the name of the business refers to the fact that you have to pay an arm, a leg, *and* a ball for admission.) Ball Factory is very well organized. When you enter, there's a large coat room with trays for your shoes. After signing a waiver, you head past the party rooms and dining areas and enter the play area. Immediately to your right is a big area with push-pedal cars and trucks. All the kids clamored for the vehicles that had trailers, and everyone enjoyed hauling the plastic logs. You will note that there are not enough logs for every child to have a full trailer of logs, so the kids will start stealing from one another. Past that area is a very cool room filled with pneumatic ball guns. Drop a ball in the opening, press the trigger, and launch the ball across the room to the other side. I believe there are 10 standard gun mounts (5 on each side), with one giant ball-blasting gun right near the entrance. I appreciated how there were lots of scoops lying around, so you could stock your ammunition and hold it next to the gun barrel while you shoot. While the balls don't really hurt, they could sting at short range, so be mindful if you have any really little kids wandering in there - they'd make easy targets. The back of the building features a huge play structure with two giant slides Underneath, you'll find giant foam building blocks or a tiny basketball court, or a fun log swing. If we go back to the entrance of the play area, opposite the push-pedal cars, there are two gated play areas - one for children under 36", one for kids under 48". There is an attendant stationed here to make sure big kids don't enter. Each play area has soft foam playthings. The under-48" area also has a climbing wall. It's really nice Ball Factory keeps those areas separate and well guarded. No joke, I saw a 5'10" child who looked like he was 12 years old who was whipping balls at smaller kids elsewhere in the building. It's frustrating when you have a little one getting shoved around the playground by some man-child with no body control. I appreciate that they had drinking fountains. The men's room included preschool-level urinals and sinks - another nice touch. The only reason I docked a star is because the price is very high ($25/kid on weekends) and because you can't bring outside food. This place gets super-super busy on weekends, so be ready to lose track of your kid in the mob. Other notes: The place seems *very* well staffed. Unlike some play places, there were plenty of highly visible employees throughout the building. I even saw a vacuum make its way down the carpet a few times during my visit - that's unheard of at most play centers. Your kiddo also gets to take home a "free" ball on the way out - a nice way to soothe the distress of the departure. If you think you'll be here more than once, consider grabbing a multi-visit punch card pass. $100 gets you 4 weekday visits and 2 weekend/holiday visits, so you save $30. read more

Nice and easy this place is awesome! I took my nephew because we saw it as we drove by. I especially like the employees! They're playing with and watching the kids a little and having fun. But there is one who stood out. Laura. Look, I am a business owner and I know a good worker when I see one. That gal - God love her. She was hustling between greeting us, making and serving pizzas and doing it all with a smile. She demonstrated mastery of her position and a wonderful demeanor. My son was invited to a classmate's fourth birthday party here. I was surprised by the variety of activities they had. This place is similar to Urban Air but there was a greater variety of activities for kids to do. It was less about bouncing than Urban Air is. There was a huge playset with multiple slides including one tornado slide. There were specific areas for toddlers and a room with air guns which my four year old loved. The parents brought in pizza from Rosati's for the main meal and cupcakes for dessert. On-site there were snack food and dessert options plus a decent amount of coffee choices. This place is near my parents house so it would be a good place to take my son on a rainy day. I also appreciated that in the ladies room there was a fully stocked changing table. It's pricier than Urban Air for an afternoon of free play but I liked the expanded options. It was hard to get my son to leave! read more

Ball Factory was great for our event. We celebrated my daughter's 3rd birthday party here. We had kids ranging from age 2 to age 11 and everyone had fun! Even the adults joined in for some of the activities. The staff was very accommodating and were very helpful before and during the party. Every play are we have seen only let you play for an hour and then cut your cake/eat the second hour and none of the kids are satisfied with play. But Ball Factory is different, you can play the entire day of your party, EVEN AFTER YOUR PARTY, isn't that AMAZING? The facility was very clean, play area, bathrooms, party rooms, everywhere. They also have hand sanitizers everywhere for you to use. The party room was decorated beautifully. I had bought decorations as our party's theme was Frozen, and the staff did a wonderful job in decorating. We ordered food from Ball Factory and the food was very good. Some of our guests could not eat meat and they made on the spot changes for them, got us some sandwiches, which I thought was very helpful. We'll definitely come here again. A cool spot to take my 3.5 year old. The place is clean with large bottles of hand sanitizers everywhere. A place for a kid to pedal around on a vehicle, a room to shoot balls at each other, a basketball area, a foam block area, and a huge jungle gym. Came here for some winter indoor playground time for our 2yo, and it was a blast! There is so much to do here, they make the $20ish per toddler value (for all day play, I believe) really great. They don't charge for parents, which is so nice, since I mean... we don't really play, we're chasing/caring for our children. Some other spots, like Funtopia, charge rates depending on if you're playing for an hour or two hours, and while most people don't stay longer than a couple hours I'd imagine, it leaves a better impression when they tell their guests they only have a period of time to play. They have different sections, some of which are gated off to help the smaller tots safe and enclosed, and most of which are open for all. The two gated off portions have play things for smaller toddlers, or even older infants, including a small ball pit, large soft blocks, activity boards, climbing wall and jumping blocks. In the open spaces, they have a space with multiple ride-on Deere trucks, some of which are tugging along play logs or tractor pieces. They have a room dedicated to shooting balls from shooters, targeting a basket in the middle, but really the entire room is fair game. Most of the space is taken up by a huge climbing structure, with different levels to explore, with 2 different types of slides. Longer roadway than I would've expected, which was nice and different from outdoor playgrounds! Obstacle course-like area, a ride-on logo that swings back and forth, and some giant legos. My toddler had fun! The ball gun machine was really fun to shoot, and to dodge! LOL The structure was complex enough for older kids or younger braver soul. For the $$ admission price, i would think that the ball gun machines and other machinery in that area would work well...but some machines are actually not functioning. =/ We went on a rainy Saturday, so the experience was a bit dampened by the mad crowd and noises. I don't know who had more fun here: me or my son. While in town, we brought my son here (along with my mother and my sister) to let him run around and do something fun since it was cold outside. We had to pay $13 for our child, but each adult was free. So. $13 for one child and four adults? YES! We got bracelets and want to put our things away. There is a room to hang up your coats and take your shoes off (no shoes allowed, must have socks on). We were unsure about the safety of an unattended room so we left most of our stuff in the vehicle. Then we ran off to play! There are different play areas including a parent & tot area, a toddler area (my child was small enough to play in both of these areas), a pedal tractor area, "imagination play" with giant, foam blocks to build with, a ball room where you can shoot balls out of small cannon things, and large slides with nets and corners to run around in. There's something for all ages here! Even the adults can have fun with the kids if they let themselves. In addition to the play rooms are a few party rooms that would be good for birthday parties, as well as a cafe sitting area to eat/work/rest. We saw a lot of parents just sitting here while their kids played. They also have food! It's a bit overpriced but we choose to get some gelato -- which is a unique but cool offering. The gelato is very Americanized, so you're not getting authentic Italian gelato here. Bummer. Yet, it's a cool treat after running and jumping around for hours. My only gripe (as is my gripe with all places like this) is that a lot of kids are often left unsupervised. If you have well-behaved kids, this is fine. There are staff working in each area, which is good, but some of the more ruly children should have their parents nearby..... like that child that climbed up on the wall and dangled over until I brought a staff member's attention to him. It is a great place for kids to play. However, we booked a bday party there June 2022 and the service was poor. The pizza orders were wrong despite the multiple confirmations prior to the party. When I asked when my correct pizza order would be delivered. Staff told us it would be delivered in 1 hour! That was after the party time allotment was over! I was forced to feed my guests the wrong pizza order. The beverage pitchers were also not refilled. We had to wait in the front counter and ask for refills. It was very embarrassing to my guests. Considering the hefty price for the party, I expected better from the Ball factory. I contacted the manager the day after the party. Be warned: this place is a nightmare for anyone with auditory sensory sensitivities. The ball cannons are powered by air compressors, so each blast is abrupt, super loud and unpredictable. They do sell earplugs, but my sensory kid couldn't function here, even in remote corners far away from the ball cannons, so we had to leave shortly after arriving. Worst experience with VERY rude employees. I went to drop my young kid off for a birthday party and they would not let me walk him in unless I paid $25 for my 9 year old to enter the building. My nine year old was not going to play or eat, but they told me he would have to wait outside unless I paid an admission fee for a party drop off. They said they are just like six flags and you can't come in unless you pay. So I either let my young child go in by himself, leave a nine year old outside a dark strip mall by himself or pay $25 to just walk in their door for a drop off. The Ball Factory is a fantastic place to bring kids to burn off some energy, entertain on a rainy/snowy day, or even have a kid's party. The place seems pretty new because it is VERY clean. But it could also be very well taken care of from wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Either way, you don't feel like you want to wash you hands every five minutes while there (like I do at some other places). While it isn't "massive" it has lots and lots to do: there are a few "gated" areas for really little kids to play - which is a great touch, there is a pedal-truck area with lots of options, and there is a large climbing-tunnel-thing that is several levels and also has plenty of building options underneath. Not to mention the compressed air ball-shooting area! I really could not believe how well they utilize they space they have and the variety of entertaining options. Additionally, they have party rooms available to rent, some ice cream and small food options available, and plenty of tables to sit at and eat (or just take a rest for a parent). The one downside is the cost. You only pay for children but it's $16 a head! That's STEEP! I'm a big fan of Ball Factory and I already cannot wait to come back. Excellent place for kids, here are a few things that make this place excellent and better than other places I have seen so far: Staff that mans each area to enforce rules. If kids act up they actually enforce rules and tell kids what is not allowed. Areas separated by interest with plenty for all ages. Clearly, safety was kept in mind with every possible area covered with cushioning. Food that caters to kids with plenty of healthy food options. Well staffed in play areas. A person designated to cleaning the floor all the time to keep the place clean. You will see someone walking around with a Dyson at all times vacuuming. Overall my kids 1 and 2.5 years old really had a great time. I highly recommending taking your kids, nephews and nieces for a great time. I also noticed that they hosted parties for kids. Ball Factory is a good sized indoor play area for kids. It is located in a large strip mall in Mt. Prospect and is pretty easy to get to off 90. It was pretty empty when we went on a weekday afternoon, but I assume this place gets packed on weekends. They have 3 small party rooms and then a giant play area. Shoes need to be taken off by kids and adults, so the surface is in pretty good shape. Don't forget kids socks or you will have to pay $2.00 for each pair. There are a ton of activities for kids of all ages. There are separate areas for 1-3 year olds, 3-5 and then the general play area. There is a huge playground with many slides, ball pits and tunnels. Kids can burn off energy scooting around in a number of kid sized trucks. The unique nerf ball gun room and is a lot of fun for adults too. A small climbing wall and huge lego kit are the highlights of the smaller kid area. The whole place seems clean and well maintained. I know this is only a month old, but it seems like everything is still brand new. Staff was also very friendly and helped us throughout our visit. Gelato was good and only $1.75 for a small. Price is a little high for admission, but they honored an online coupon we had. read more

My kids had the day off today and wanted to go have some fun so we went to the Ball Factory in Mt. Prospect and met up with friends. A few years ago we had went to the one in Naperville and it was a blast. I would say that one is larger than this one, but this one is a brand new facility. It was very clean and well kept. Since my kids are getting a little older ( 7 yrs) I wasn't sure if it would keep their interest for long. Well, I was wrong! We stayed there for about 4 hrs arriving around 10am and leaving at 2pm. They had had so much fun on all the slides, going through the obstacles, shooting foam balls through the air, riding trucks and rock climbing wall. Everything is very safe so no one got hurt. They also have friendly staff who monitor the play areas. It was also very nice that my friend and I could relax a bit and chat while the kids played. There is plenty of seating in the cafe and alot of couches in the play area. They do have a decent lunch menu for kids and adults. My friend and I just got coffee while the kids had a snack. The gelato there was excellent and there were many different flavors. It was a really great time and my kids were wiped out afterwards from all the fun they had. (Another bonus!) Not a safe place for the our toddler. Went there and it was WAY over crowded which is unsafe with Covid and safe play. No staff supervising anything or to be found. There was a lack of supervising on the parents/caregivers part as well. My toddler was stepped on, knocked over, hurt on the slide. There were kids walking up and down this very large slide with nobody there to address it. Much larger kids in the toddler area throwing big balls at each other. Which was unsafe for toddlers. The "shooting" area had big kids in it aiming at my toddler as well as the adults butts in the room. Again- no adults (parents or staff) around to address this inappropriate behavior. Very odd. My 7 year old daughter and I spent about 4 hours here today as part of her Spring Break. I love that the play area is a no shoe zone for everyone--including the adults! The play area seemed very clean and I am sure eliminating the shoes plays a role in that. The bathrooms were also very clean! My Little One wasn't too sure at first when we walked in because we are used to the sprawling play areas of Funtopia in Glenview, but she had a great time exploring and even made a new friend! She was surprised at all of the books & crannies of the giant play structure and didn't want to leave, even after hours of playtime. Her only con was that the climbing wall was in the toddler (under 48") section and she would have liked to try it. The cafe didn't appeal to Little One; she just needed a fresh bottle of water. They offer LaVazza coffee, fruit, vegetables, pretzels, hummus, guac, and a lot of decent choices. I also noted they have paninis, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, and salads. I just needed a little something so I got a cup of cut up fruit. It was okay. The fruit wasn't the sweetest, but it might just be starting to get into season. Bonus points for cutting the cantaloupe into mini flowers. I have those cutting tools at home, but yet to use them. The coffee, which I associate by name to be of good quality, was dreadful. We came here for a birthday party and I must say that we will be back. The party we were at was for 2 boys, one was turning 5 and the other 3 so the kids ages ranged a bit at the space. It was so nice that there were tiny toy spaces that the bigger kids like mine were not allowed in. Parents are also allowed in the play spaces! You do need to remove your shoes and must wear socks though, but in case you forget they can sell you some. The food menu was very extensive and there were tons of snack options. They also have a Lavazza coffee bar so you can get a latte if you need. There is also a full case of gelato that I may need to try some of next time. The kids party was well done and there was also water with lemon in it for the adults along with water, lemonade and side. It's such a small detail but an unexpected touch. I had a lot of fun in the ball room letting kids hit me with the ball cannons and watching all of the different toys.
