My daughter (4) and I found ourselves in the area this Saturday afternoon, and we are always looking for new play places that won't overstimulate me, but will keep her occupied for a solid two hours. I was very excited to scope out Playroom Cafe. Playroom Café is the perfect spot for a play date/mommy coffee date, with their small cafe menu that offers coffee, small bites, milkshakes and a shockingly semi-healthy kids' food menu. The area is bright, clean and inviting, with plenty of space for adults to relax while the children explore. I love that I can see my daughter from any angle of the seating area. Solid European song selection as well, I can't even tell you how peaceful it was to not have to listen to children's music for two hours. They offer semi-private and private birthday parties and have a super cute private area to help your littles celebrate! I will definitely be adding Playroom Café to our regular rotation and for possible birthday ideas in the future. read more

The place is beautiful and everything looked clean. I can see this place get busy and not being enough toys for kids to play with. However that's not why I have this place 2 stars. The workers look and sound miserable... they clean and turn the music off 30 mins before closing time and look at everyone like they want us to leave already. Wish I felt more welcomed. Not sure if I would come again will look for something else. read more

Playroom Café - Indoor Playcenter Near Me - Mount Prospect, Illinois

Surviving with 2 young, active boys during winter in Chicago requires a search for quality indoor playground. Fortunately, I have found some in the city and Chicagoland. "Playroom Cafe" is officially added to my list of children's cafes, even though it is a bit farther away from where we live. "Playroom Cafe" is located on the second floor in the Randhurst Village outdoor shopping area. The admission fee for each child is $17, with 2 adults allowed. The layout is nice and adults can supervise their kids with mostly unobstructed view while sitting down. Food offerings mirror the typical cafe items you can find in most places. Shoes are required to be off inside the cafe/play area for everyone. During our visit, we saw the staff who did a great job keeping the venue clean and things were picked up from the ground in a timely manner. They were also working on setting up a private, members-only party when we were there. Therefore, there was a plenty of people working and serving the patrons on a Saturday afternoon. Our boys had an awesome time releasing their energy and enjoyed the waffles and berry smoothie. My partner and I took turns to hang with them at the play area, which was nice to share responsilities while finding time to relax and sipping a cup of joe. We probably will be back at some point because the drive to Mount Prospect is quite long. Nevertheless, we like "Playroom Cafe" and will recommend for patents who are specifically looking for kids-centric cafes in Chicagoland. read more

Such a cute and fun place for families with young kids! The playroom is clean, inviting, and has plenty to keep little ones entertained while parents can relax and enjoy a coffee. My son had such a great time playing and exploring, and I loved that the space felt comfortable and welcoming for both kids and adults. Definitely a great spot for a playdate or just to get out of the house and let the kids have fun. We'll definitely be back! read more

Such a fun spot for the days that too cold (or hot)to play outside! There was so much to do and it kept my one year happy and excited the whole time! I love the areas that were fenced off for the younger kids and the soft flooring. The staff was kind and helpful with any questions and we can't wait to go back! read more

I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a kids' play place. The staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful from the moment we arrived. It's a place designed for children, yet they acted annoyed that kids were playing, laughing, and making noise. Instead of being patient or understanding, they were constantly yelling at the children and making everyone feel uncomfortable. The food was absolutely disgusting. My daughter is the least picky eater I know and will eat almost anything, but she refused to eat their food after a few bites because it tasted so bad. To make matters worse, my nephew became sick and started throwing up after eating there. Rather than showing any concern or asking if he was okay, the staff's response was to try to kick us out. The way they treated our family was completely unprofessional and lacked even the most basic level of customer service or compassion. A business that caters to children should understand that kids play, make noise, and occasionally get sick. Instead, we were treated like we were causing a problem. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Between the rude staff, terrible food, and complete lack of empathy, it was an awful experience that we will never repeat. read more

This is honestly one of my favorite play areas. It's so family friendly. There's nothing better than being able to sit down and have a hot cup of coffee and know where your kid is at all times all of these play café locations are absolutely incredible! read more

Brought my child here and they got sick 3 days later, this place is full of germs and is not cleaned well

This is a late review for my daughters first birthday in August. Wow, the staff was great! I wish I remembered their names but two of the women that worked closely with us had names that started with a K and G. They were so helpful in setting up, and really attended to our needs. My family could not stop raving about how cute her party was. read more

Nice play cafe! The kids get to play in such clean and well-lit space, while the parents get to munch on food and sip coffee! What are great hour of joy and peace! :D I would say the cafe is probably good for 3 and under as there are a lot of role play toys, "walking cars" (not sure what those flintstone cars are called), and a well built and clean structure to climb and slide. read more

My boy will be 4 in 4 months and seemed to like this place. Parking is free, it was $16 all day for a kid and free for parents, and it was clean. We went on a Sunday from 10am to 2:30pm and it was not crowded at all. Lots of activities for the child to do and comfy seats for the parents to relax. If your kid is superactive, this may not be the place for him. It's more for mild mannered and easy playing kids like mine. read more

Had a wonderful 2nd birthday party here for my daughter. Everyone had a great time and as the mom/host they did everything to help set up the room beautifully, was very attentive, set up all the food and desserts with a really cute back drop. Very clean and professional and so easy to be here. I appreciate them making the day so great! Everyone had an amazing time. read more

The place is clean and there's definitely a lot for them to do and see but the fact you can't bring your own snacks and you can't get a regular drip coffee is really annoying. Even when I just had a snack on the table and my kid wasn't eating it (it wasn't even open) the workers came over and hassled me about it just laying on the table. It's not worth the annoyance to come back. read more

Good day for young children (2 & 5) during a no school/daycare cold or rainy day. They loved it.

We had such an amazing time celebrating my daughters second birthday here. The planning was super easy, I emailed back and forth with the owner and she answered all of my questions. When we got there to set up there were two girls who helped us organize the goodie bags and desserts. They were cleaning and wiping down all of the toys and tables before the guests arrived. Throughout the party they were helping make drinks and clean up. All of our guests had an amazing time! So many different toys to play with and different areas for all of the kids. Overall we had a great time and can't wait to be back. read more

Cutest little indoor gym for toddlers. The food is quite expensive but they do offer a wide variety of food and smoothies/coffee

Great place to take a little one on colder days. Our granddaughter played for 2 hours and we were able to enjoy a healthy lunch as well. Clean and well-kept. Nice assortment of activities for gross motor and imaginative play. Comfortable places to eat and sit to watch your children. Although we didn't use it, I also noticed a separate baby area for crawlers and early walkers. read more

Cool place. Great for the kids to have some fun! Highly recommend. Coffee and food were fine. Overall would recommend.

Cute little place, but it's an unsafe environment for toddlers because they don't enforce their own rules. The web site specifically says "For the safety of our little one's children over 6 years or 48" Height will not be allowed on the playground!" We were there with my 2-year old grandson on 5/4/25 and there were several children well over 6 years old and 48" in height running and roughhousing in the play area and on the equipment. Since the parents ignored the rules, we continually had to ask the manager to enforce them. Her initial response was to offer us some free food. I told her I wasn't interested in free food, I just wanted her to enforce her rules and provide a safe place for my grandson to play. After several requests she finally asked the older children to leave the play area, but they came back a short time after and we had to ask again. She was reluctant to ask them to leave again and offered us a pass to go the the Hoffman Estates location. Why would we want to drive from Mt. Prospect to Hoffman Estates on the outside chance that location might enforce the rules? read more

Had a great time with my almost 4 year old and 10 month old here! We did a play date with our friend and the kids had a blast. There's plenty to play with and the staff are very friendly, my baby was getting fussy and one of the women at the front desk played peekaboo with her, cheered her right up. Place is very clean and lots of fun toys. It's a bit pricey if you're here for only a little bit but if you live close you can leave and come back for no extra charge read more

Great place to take the kids during any season. They have various toys and activities to keep them engaged.

Great atmosphere for kids ranging 18M-3 years old. Their cafe makes it comfortable for a parent to work and entertain their toddle at the same time. Their stations are tailored to their age group allowing the kiddos to explore their creativity. read more

I spent about an hour and a half there today with my 2 year old and 11 month old. We went on a weekday afternoon and there were probably 12 kids there total. I would say that a child older than 4 may get bored here easily, but it was great for my boys. The toys are unique and of great quality (for example a wooden play house vs a plastic one). There is a climbing area with several slides, a work bench including a construction dress up costume, grocery/food play set, train table and several small cars. The baby area also has a nice variety of toys that is separate from the main play area. The employees were continually cleaning and organizing the toys, which made the space safe and easy to play in. You do have to take your shoes off upon entering (even if just sitting in the couch/table viewing area). There is a nursing/changing room, and a cafe with a variety of drinks, sandwiches, salads. I would go back, but I heard they are raising the price, so I may look for a coupon if that happens, since I spent $16 today (sibling gets a discount), which isn't terribly expensive, but our library has a similar play area which is free! read more

We LOVE this place! It's SO clean, the staff is wonderful, and the coffee is delicious. Definitely one of our favorites!

I'm not sure why there aren't more reviews for this place but we love it!!! Any time we have been (during the day) it's not crazy busy (usually busy after 4-5PM and I'm assuming weekends). It's clean with great quality and variety of toys, the cafe has very good options for both adults and children's. They have an amazing area for little babies (when my daughter couldn't walk she loved this space as she wasn't intimidated by the bigger kids). Great music playing in the background, space for parents to sit and overlook their kids playing and I could go on and on.... The location is easy to find, plenty of free parking, the building itself is new with huge windows. Don't hesitate to check this place out, they seem to host some amazing children's parties so we do plan to host our daughters next birthday here! Tip* follow them on Facebook they sometimes post deals and discounts! read more

Place is nice and clean, staff is unfriendly and rude. If you can avoid interacting with the people who work there it's a good place for the kids when the weather is cold. read more

This place is super cute but wowwww the staff is hostile. Not sure why they work at a children's play place when they clearly hate people and children. One employee also narrowly missed smacking my kid in the head with a toy and didn't even acknowledge it. Super disappointing because it's a cute spot otherwise but the straight-up hostility of the staff make me never want to step foot in that place ever again. read more

We had such an incredible 2 year old birthday party here. The staff, specially Judith and Tony were so helpful and make our experience seamless. From entering with our cupcakes and goodie bags to knowing water and juice and other snacks were included to having the space decorated and all set up, we were so grateful for the ease of planning and the support provided. The space was so much fun for the kids and they had a blast playing for two hours straight. We had pizzas delivered in for the kids and adults and everything was so easy. The place was so clean and well taken care of too. We decided to open a "tab" at the counter so the parents could treat themselves to a coffee or snack from the cafe too. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area looking for a great birthday spot, especially in the winter months. read more

Our 2 yr old grandson was entertained for hours! He lives the train set the most. Place was so clean and inviting.

Such a fun place! $16 for all day play, the place was incredibly clean and constantly had staff picking up and vacuuming. I also loved the cafe option with plenty of coffee options for tired parents and plenty of snack options for hungry kids. They had a soft play area for babies and plenty to do for curious toddlers. They have a strict no shoe policy so, bring some socks and enjoy your time with your kiddo. read more

Lovely place. Big enough for a child to enjoy and small enough to keep an eye on you kiddo without moving from your chair. They have a variety of different toys for different age ranges. Only reason I gave 4/5 is bc it seems like they're always closed for a private party. But I can't knock their hustle! read more

So disappointed in this spot. We were forced to cancel a party due to Covid and lost a deposit. We assumed we'd be able to use it now once it reopened as a play spot and with a young baby now a bit older. Sadly no they just keep money? That's just awful and unfair. Tried to even get a one time visit. read more
