The owner, Robin, and one of the other employees were fantastic at leading a group of 21 first grade girls through painting a mermaid tail (there were so many choices for the canvas painting - my daughter happened to choose this one). They can do them more or less complex based on the age group of the party. Robin was truly fantastic to work with. She took care of everything, including ordering pizzas from elsewhere in the mall. I brought the paper goods and cupcakes and everything else was handled. We were in a party room in the back that is utilitarian but also decorated. I definitely appreciated that there were separate tables for the art and the eating! I was perfectly happy to not be out in the front of the store with the general public. And the price was totally reasonable given everything that they did for us. Would definitely host another party here! We've also come on a random day just to do a walk in ceramic painting, which was also great. Lots of selections at all sorts of different price points. You can also do walk in canvas painting.

I'm reviewing from the POV of an adult guest celebrant, as my daughter was the event organizer and coordinator, so she can probably separately provide another POV. I met Robin, the franchise's engaging and energetic founder and owner, who runs this store and 2 others in Chicagoland (Water Tower Place and Hawthorn Center in Vernon Hills). Her friendly assistant Zach was also floating about helping out in various ways. The grand-darling and 13 of her closest relatives, classmates, and friends spent an action packed 90 minutes here on a Sunday. In that time, they did the following and Robin was hands-on actively leading each activity: - got dressed in a protective gown for painting - individually picked out a pre-shaped clay object to paint, and there were many to pick from - painted the object and subsequently blow-dried it and set aside - ran around the spacious project room for a bit, like 6-9 year olds like to do (Robin didn't really need to supervise this self taught activity duh) - had a delicious pizza and fruit lunch, with both kids and adults served - had birthday cake and song, with both kids and adults served - played a fun game of Simon Says Each child went home happy with their self-painted object and party souvenir. Robin opened her store at 10am, an hour earlier than the normal 11am to accommodate this party and another later one. She also coordinated with Northbrook Court's pizza vendor, Tony & Bruno's, to open early so that our pizza lunch could be delivered right on time. We had 5 thin pizzas, and they all were very good, hot, and delicious, so kudos here to Tony & Bruno's as well, a business that Robin apparently routinely coordinates with. The daughter brought in the birthday cake and Robin served it for the group. The adults were able to comfortably sit off to the side in the spacious project room and enjoy and photograph and video to our heart's content. Great outing, Robin and Zach, and our entire extended family thanks you for a very fun and enjoyable birthday party!

I've been meaning for my 3 year old to follow in his siblings Lil Kickers footsteps for about 1.5…read moreyears now, but when it comes to the 3rd child convenience is key...and the old Hi-Five location just wasn't convenient for us. However, when I saw they were moving to Northbrook Court and had a morning class that worked with my little one's schedule I signed up immediately. He's been in the class about a month now and I get pics from my nanny every week of him with a huge smile kicking the ball. It turns out he's not totally following in his big sister's footsteps who instead of participating would twirl in the middle of the soccer field. Last week I joined my little one for his class and was so impressed. The space itself is absolutely amazing. The old space was fine, but nothing in comparison to what they've built here in Northbrook Court. And the Lil Kickers class itself was great too. It's not easy to keep the attention of a group of rowdy 2 and 3 year olds, but they were all listening perfectly to Coach Dan...and I couldn't believe it was the same child who had been a terror for me all morning. A few days later we attended a birthday party with Coach PJ. My 3 year old went running towards Hi-Five screaming "Yay! It's kicker time!" and my 6 year old was also eager to check out his little brother's favorite activity. PJ worked his magic and did organized games with a large group of 2 and 3 year olds for an hour ( + my equally enthused 6 year old). I"m not sure what his secret is, but he may need to move in with me to teach me how to control my own children. They had rented a portion of the space so there were a bunch of classes going on at the same time, but the bday party was in a private enough space that it was perfect. However, I couldn't help, but already start thinking about doing a joint bday party for my own boys later this year since it's one of the few spaces that would work for a vary large group with multiple ages. My little ones will be excited when they realize our calendar the next few months is booked solid with hi-five parties. I highly recommend looking into their classes (their flag football looked really fun too!) and checking it out for your bday party needs.

The teachers here are great and my children look forward to going to class every week…read more That is the ONLY reason we continue to attend classes here. The management of the facility is terrible for three main reasons: 1. Parking is a huge problem but the restriction on the front door makes the situation worse. There is a requirement to park behind the building and use the back door. In fact, there are threats posted inside the facility that if you are caught using the front door, your child will be dropped from the program. The problem is that there isn't nearly enough parking in the back of the building to accommodate all students. So most parents have to park on the street and walk down either side of the building. The problem is that there are always cars circling the building trying to find that parking in the back, so it's important to make sure your kids are pressed against the side of the building so they aren't hit by a car. I dread coming here in the winter when it gets dark earlier because I worry about the safety of kids arriving and departing from class. It's unclear why only employees are allowed to use the front door. It would seem smarter to relocate the reception desk to the front of the building and allow paying customers to come in that way safely. 2. The place is not very clean and lacks basic services like modern restrooms and working vending machines. So make sure your kids pee at home first and if you forget to bring a water bottle - too bad, you're heading to the gas station down the street. 3. It's too difficult for them to answer the phone. The recorded answer doesn't even indicate the company name and the voicemail box is always full. I found this out when I called to ask if the classes were taking place on a major Jewish holiday. Tried several times over the day and no answer. Yet when I arrived, the receptionist was calmly sitting there playing on her own phone because...priorities.
