This is probably the nicest, most full-featured, of Deerfield's many public parks. Jewett Park has numerous themed playgrounds for all ages, shelters, covered picnic areas, plenty of parking on all sides (though the west end can fill up from folks commuting by train), is walking distance from shopping & public transportation, and is right near the Deerfield Police Station.
All of the paved pathways are in excellent condition, and are perfect for walking on. There are a lot of old-growth trees that provide nice shade, and add to the charm of the park. The baseball diamonds, the different playgrounds, and the skate park all seem to be regularly maintained. The park grounds manage to stay nice and dry, due to quality drainage, which helps reduce mosquitoes during the warm months.
The Deerfield Park District often has events here, and they do a great job of taking care of the needs of vendors and attendees. Since this seems to be their flagship park, they also take care to keep it cleaner than all of the other parks. All seasons; Jewett Park is one of Deerfield's finest features. read more
