Brickards Park is conveniently located, with parking on both ends (near the Patty Turner Senior Center on the north end, or on the south end off of Pfingsten/Kates near the basketball courts). The park and paths are very well lit, and have lots of amenities. The bathrooms, which are connected to the back of the senior center, are among the nicest public restroom in the area. The water fountains have very strong flow, and the water quality is great (they're near the water treatment center, and literally just yards away from the water tower). The park grounds stay nice and dry, and are fairly bug-free. The playground equipment isn't super-fancy, but still fun and varied - as well, they always seem to be well maintained, and appear very safe. During soccer season, it can be very crowded, and the grounds can start to get littered with water bottles and snack wrappers. The park district does a good job trying to clean up, but they can sometimes get overwhelmed at how much garbage is left behind (the worst is after the 4th of July celebration). Despite this, Brickyards is still a very nice park. read more
