Oleum - Not your Mama pepperoni

    Oleum

    Fells Point

Oleum can best be described as vegan, chef inspired, fine dining. I was absolutely floored by how…read moregood everything was. To start with, the menu is very creative. You aren't going to find black bean burgers and cauliflower wings here (not that there is anything wrong with those). Instead, you will find small plates like Cannellini and Pan (bread with white beans) and Batata Harra (spicy Lebanese potatoes). Soups like Roasted Pumpkin. Mains like Steak, roasted veggies and Polenta in gravy. Pizzas like Meat Lovers with vegan bacon, pepperoni, sausage and spicy Italian sausage. There is plenty more dishes I just named the ones we ended up ordering. My wife started with a mocktail that included coconut and was meant to taste like a Creamsicle popsicle. Incredibly, it did. I was intrigued by a number of lattes but considering it was night and I had already reached my coffee quota for the day, I abstained. After that, we ordered and received our small plates and soup. The Cannellini and Pan was incredible. I don't know how to describe the bread. It looked like pita but it didn't taste or feel like any pita I've had before. The beans were flavorful, with a hint of spice. Speaking of spice, the Batata Harra was very spicy. Good, but definitely not for someone who can't handle spice. The soup was good but didn't really blow me away like everything else. Next came our mains, Steak and Polenta and the Meat Lovers Pizza. A lot of the pizza meats and cheeses are made in house at Oleum giving this pizza a unique taste all to itself. The crust was great, the meats were good with a hint of spiciness and the cheese was not too much and flowed with the rest of the pizza. The steak was a locally made vegan steak that cut and looked like real steak (I didn't quite have the same texture as I remember actual steak). Paired with polenta, mushrooms and Brussels and topped with gravy, this dish was incredible. To end it all, I took a carrot cake to go. Also excellent. The wait staff was incredible. Two different servers and the owner stopped at our table to check on us. Oleum is not cheap. This meal, with tip, was close to $150 dollars. But the quality and taste (and amount of leftovers) made the price more palatable. Will definitely be back!

I'm happy I got a chance to try the food at Oleum. These pics are from two visits. Upon my first…read morevisit, I ordered the kale ceasar salad and a butternut squash soup. 2nd visit was the breakfast burrito. Both times, the service was impeccable at the bar, and while being formally seated. As I'm not a vegan, I do frequent vegan places in hopes of finally transitioning, so I understand flavor profiles and what to expect/not expect. The salad dressing was a bit skimpy and the croutons were extremely hard. I asked for some honey to add to the sauciness of the dressing, which in hindsight, I should have just asked for more dressing. I've had vegan ceasar salad dressing before that somehow mimicked that anchovie-taste, which is what I expected here. For the soup, I had my mouth ready for a sweet savory taste, but instead it was salty savory which altogether changed my viewpoint on how this soup can be made. I asked for chili oil to give it a little pop. Onto the breakfast burrito - a sight to see! I'm not a breakfast burrito girl, but a friend let me taste her leftovers and I thought I HAD to have my own. At first bite, I can say it was a whole YES. My only ask was more seasoning, and to have cooked the tofu down just a bit more so it didn't give the consistency of a runny egg. I asked for sriracha, chili oil and ketchup to seal the deal. I highly suggest offering at least one of these sauces/oil as a free accoutrement, instead of charging per oz. Ambiance is always warm and inviting. The dark wood gives a homelike vibe and the music is on point. I will definitely be back for the breakfast burrito in hopes of more fun sauces on the side!

Walked in to a very nice kid who helped me decided which stir fry I was looking for. It being a nice day & I'm on a 2 hour break I elected to dine in. It's lovely environment in the Hopkins University area so a lot of the students come here but amazingly it wasn't crowded at all. I went with the Garlic Butter chicken stir fry. When I tell you it was amazing luckily I'm taking my diet seriously nowadays cause I really wanted to order one more to go.

A new favorite, the flavor and texture really make the dish. My meal was garlic butter chicken, with hots, and this time I added snow peas. Pure joy. My husband had the sesame garlic shrimp, no hots. OMG, it was the best and made our day. This visit the store was jam packed with mainly carry out. They do such a good business. I was totally amazed at the number of people managing the orders. They were fully staffed and effortly (lots of noise) completed each task. So many handling start to finish. Each person had station, just like an assembly line. And very efficient! I am looking forward to coming back.

They even have the containers for sale. This was my first time having their soup and that was nice aswell. My only issue was that I asked for certain things to not be in my salad ( like tomatoes and pickled onions) and they still put it in there. ( this was a per order so I wasn't right there as they was making it). Thanks Chopt for giving me healthier options! We need more of you in our communities.

The staff were attentive and respectful. At the counter, you start by choosing your salad toppings and then select your greens. I went with corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, broccoli, cheese, carrots, and grilled chicken on Romaine lettuce, with white balsamic vinaigrette. They add the dressing, mix everything up, and then chop it. I also got a piece of bread to go with the salad. Including a tip, the total was about $18. Everything was fresh, but next time, I'll ask for the dressing on the side. I'll also skip the grilled chicken--while the pieces were large, they lacked flavor, so I ended up picking them out. Maybe I'll try shrimp or salmon instead. Overall, it was a decent salad experience.

Fantastic First Visit to Honeygrow (Dock Street, Baltimore)…read more I stopped by Honeygrow on Dock Street in Baltimore on Friday, April 17th, 2026 around 5 p.m., and the entire experience was outstanding. I ordered a stir‑fry with brown rice, red curry, coconut tofu, kale, scallions, jalapeños, carrots, pineapple, chili flakes, cilantro, and the red coconut curry sauce -- plus an extra portion of the red cocoa base. It came to $17.43, including a dark cherry punch that was refreshing and not sugary at all. The food was incredibly delicious -- savory, balanced, and genuinely fulfilling. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the flavors came together perfectly. Easily one of the best fast‑casual bowls I've had. The atmosphere was active and vibrant, with a clean, open cooking area where you can watch your meal being prepared. The entire facility felt well‑maintained and organized. Parking was surprisingly easy; I found a great spot right out front on the street and paid $2.75 for an hour, which was plenty of time to enjoy my meal. The weather was a beautiful 80°, and the whole area felt safe and peaceful -- a great day to be out and about. A special shout‑out to Craig, who made the visit even better. He walked me through the menu since it was my first time, explained everything clearly, and made sure I felt taken care of. Excellent customer service goes a long way, and he nailed it. Overall, Honeygrow delivered on flavor, cleanliness, atmosphere, and service. I'll definitely be back.

It took me a while to decide what I wanted, the salads and stir fries are actually pretty high in calories. Eventually I decided on the OG cob salad. I subbed the chicken for grilled shrimp and removed the blue cheese crumbles. The salad was really good and fresh. I didn't even realize that there were diced apples in the salad but it actually worked really well. I don't usually put fruit in my salad, but now I'm open to experimenting with it. I was the only person in there but the service was quick, I was literally in and out and in the chair at the salon in like 5 mins. I'll definitely have to try their stir fry to get a better feel for the quality/taste of their food. A salad is pretty much a salad, it's not super complicated.

Authentic Chinese sports bar with delicious cocktails, food, and true Baltimore charm…read more This spot has only been open for about 6 months now, and I've been hearing great things, so I decided to check it out! I loved the mix of Orioles gear, Ravens memorabilia, and traditional Chinese decor. Service was very quick, server was knowledgeable and had great recommendations, and the food was outrageously good. I ordered the pork egg rolls (which I was told they roll in-house), the zha jiang mian, the stir fry green beans, and a chili oil margarita. The green beans were outstanding, which I was not expecting to be my favorite dish! The seasoning was like a soy garlic and they were cooked perfectly. The chili oil margarita was spicy, boozy, and something unusual that I had never tried before. The chili oil gives it a unique flavor and lots of spice. Although the food was a bit on the expensive side, the portions they give you lasted me 2-3 meals, which is definitely worth it. I can't wait to come back to try more of their food and watch some sports!

We got: -Wood ear mushroom salad: I always love a wood ear mushroom salad, but I wanted the dressing to be a little punchier and more flavorful -Chicken wings: tender meat and sauce was tasty -Zha jiang mian: this wasn't my favorite, the noodles were overcooked without any bite, and the meat sauce wasn't as savory as I usually like -Cumin lamb: this was the best dish overall, the lamb was very tender and flavorful. Loved the cumin which wasn't overpowering. My friends also liked it because it was spiced but not spicy. -Sauerkraut with ribs: this was my least favorite, I was expecting the vegetables to have more bite to them but they were more like German sauerkraut (overcooked and soft). The pork ribs were also a little overcooked. -Stir fry green beans: cooked very well, super flavorful Overall food was solid, and I'd try it again!

But sometimes, when I really don't feel like cooking, an order of takeout from Chachi's hits the spot. I love that, for the amount of food, it's super affordable. I got a half chicken with a side of schmaltz potatoes ($15) and a kale salad ($12) with the garlic aioli and tiger sauce. In the past, two sauces used to come with the chicken but now they charge 75 cents for each and instead, you get a side of fries or potatoes with the chicken. I will say, the serving size of the potatoes was smaller than I remember but maybe that was just because it was a to-go order? Either way, everything was delicious and the chicken made for great leftovers the next day. That amount of food for $30 is pretty great in this day and age, if you ask me.

The rotisserie chicken was cooked well and really tender, which was one of the highlights, but I felt like it was lacking in flavor. It came with a side of potatoes which were also very bland.
