I swung by Arepi for a bite to eat after their "Groove Garden" event next door. Food came out quickly and was a good portion size for the price. I got the "Party Beast" arepa which came with a heaping pile of shredded pork over some delicious cheddar cheese. I also got a side of yucca fries which were good but I'd probably skip next time as the arepa was SOO filling on its own. Love having this gluten free friendly option nearby! read more

This was our first time trying Venezuelan street food. I fear that they have spoiled all other restaurants of this type for us, everything was beyond good. The best thing we ate was the Pop Queen Cachapa. (Creamy chicken avocado salad & Venezuelan cheese). It was so flavorful, I will probably order this every time. The seating is limited, we went at an off-peak time so it wasn't a big deal. read more

I was in the area and decided to stop by. I wanted to try something different and since I've never had an arepa, it felt a good choice. After browsing the menu, the pavilion arepa was the obvious choice for me. It was stuffed with braised beef, fried plantains, black beans, and mozzarella cheese. It tastes just as good as it sounds. I enjoy all of those ingredients individually, and never would have put them all together and stuffed them into a fried pocket. Actually, over stuffed would be a better description. I wanted to beat the traffic, so I took my order to go. There was no way I was gonna even try to eat this like a regular sandwich. It was huge. I threw it in the toaster oven to warm it up and ate it as an open face sandwich with a knife & fork. That way, I was able to evenly distribute the ingredients so I got a a little bit of everything with each bite. It was savory, sweet, crunchy, yummy goodness. Don't forget to use the sauce. I poured it over everything. Next time I'm asking for an extra container because one was not enough for that huge arepa. read more

I tried Arepi recently ordered the Party Beast Arepa, and that was really good and ordered the Cheese Tequenos that was just ok. Not something i will order again. read more

I think this place is so delicious. It's very flavorful and the sauces that go with the food are paired so well. My favorite thing to get are the tequenos every time I go. It's also attached to a vinyl store which is also really cool to grab a bite and then walk over or even order and then check out some vinyls until your order is ready. I recommend read more

I ordered the Urbanite Arepa it was packed with such good flavors and was actually a lot more filling than I was expecting! The owners supported furloughed federal workers during the shutdown with a free meal so I definitely recommend supporting this business. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and it wasn't crowded when I went. read more

The arepa was tasty. More like an overstuffed sandwich and less like a grilled cheese. And the spicy sauce was genuinely spicy. The downside was really the ordering experience. The menu on the wall is outdated and several of the menu items are no longer offered. This was not communicated until we tried to order several things that no longer exist. The real menu is hidden in the counter. Still, the food was good and the outdoor space is excellent. read more

This was an epic meal. We had been to the Arepi pop-ups previously, but this was our first time dining in at their permanent brick and mortar. Everything came out super hot and super quick. It was amazing to enjoy this sitting down. I really felt like I could fully appreciate it. These are the best arepas I've ever had, and their mild garlic sauce on the side is to die for. I could drink it. Amazing that they have so many gluten-free options. Looking forward to our next visit! read more

I stopped in and grabbed an urbanite cachapa with beef and spicy sauce and it was incredible! The portion is substantial (so glad I only ordered one because I would have popped otherwise). The interplay between the sweet cornmeal pancake and the savory beef, onions, cheese, and spicy sauce was incredible. Filling, delicious, and affordable-- what's not to love? read more

The flavor of my arepa was solid but not enough to bring me back. The beef was a little sweeter in the pabellón (or as this place calls it "pavilion") than my usual preference, but the plantains were very tasty. I Found a hair in the mozzarella in the bottom of the arepa, which was a bummer. By that point I had already eaten 90% of it. read more

The size and price of the arepas are an obstacle for me. The food is good and the ingredients are creative but......compare the size and price to other arepa options. The interior feels cold, service is adequate, and the menu is outdated and looks like it was never finalized. The outdoor seating could be cute, perhaps. read more

Arepi - Adequate. - Venezuelan Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

PAVILLION AREPA The beef was tough and the broth tasted like it was watered down. Plantains were cooked well. The beans lacked flavor as well. The corn shell was bland. I liked that the shell was thick allowing it to be sturdy enough to hold it like a taco. Overall it was lackluster in flavors. Maybe they lowers the spices for the clientele of the area? ‍It wasn't for my soul, maybe it's for yours. Service was great, pleasant to order from and welcoming. I love seeing farmers market stands become brick and mortar. I also love celebrating Hispanic owned businesses. I will say, I was a little skeptical - Arepi has a HUGE cult following and for good reason but I've had some not so good experiences at the farmers market stands. But I went during Fells Fest, the busiest time and they delivered! It was a little slow to order, it was a festival and a small restaurant next to the Sound Garden. But I was surprised how quickly I got my order. The key to the Arepas is to make sure you add plantains to any item and I mixed both mild and hot sauces. I got the warm chicken arepa with added plantains and it really really hit the spot. My friend got the chicken salad and she also really enjoyed it. So glad to have more cultural local fast casual in fells. Will definitely be back! So happy for this team. read more

We visited during Sail 250 and even with a lot of customers, they provided prompt service. The selection was limited, and they were out of the desserts, but what we did get was super yummy. I would have liked to see some kind of small side provided for the price. Adding on anything quickly made most selections over $17 for a smallish sandwich. The drinks were also super limited so it was hard to get a complete meal. read more

Came here on a weekday evening, and there was no line at all. In fact, completely empty, including the staff lol, so we waited a bit for them to come back. Got the Urbanite cachapa, which had a corn pancake outside filled with queso de mano and a beef and pepper mixture. Overall good in terms of flavor and texture, and especially loved the corn bits in the pancake. Indoor and outdoor seating available. read more

I'm so happy that Arepi finally has a storefront!!! I used to get their arepas at the Fells Point farmers market on a regular basis - iykyk. The arepas are flavorful, delicious, made fresh, and best of all for me - gluten free!!!! You may view it as a pro or a con that they are packed so full with the fillings, but for me it's an absolute pro. Get ready to get messy if you're biting in, or grab a fork. I will say that sometimes there is a significant wait (at the events they go to, as well as the storefront). With that being said, it's due to the quality of the food! So go and enjoy! read more

We stopped in for lunch after wandering around Sound Garden and I'm so glad we did. Everything was delicious and the guy taking orders was the sweetest. It was clean and quiet inside, with outdoor seating options available. Oh - and those sauces! Even if you're a spicy fan, try to get spicy and mild, because that mild sauce is heavenly. Garlicy, tangy, a little oniony, it complements everything on the menu. Definitely recommend and am already planning my next visit. read more

I had Arepi for takeout and the food was plentiful and tasty. Air fryer saved the day with reheating so I'm sure it's much better eating in person. I would try the cachapa-it's sweeter and like cornbread. read more

I was a little sad that I didn't enjoy these arepas as much. I am a huge arepa fan, and I've had many in my life, but I didn't like these ones. It's almost as if the chicken is missing a bit more seasoning. One thing I can appreciate is the service, the location, and how fast everything is. I really loved the employees and how patient they are, but I just didn't like the arepa itself. Maybe I need to come back and try something other than the Suburban. The arepa is big, and you can get full from just one, but overall, I was a bit disappointed that I didn't enjoy it as much. read more

I loved the food at arepi, it was fresh, flavorful, well balanced, and truly a delight. I got the chicken avocado one and was not disappointed by the crunchy shell, and soft and cheesy filling. The service was okay, nothing to write home about, but were polite nonetheless. Ambiance when I went was just a regular little store almost like a cafe. Definitely a spot for a casual chat and greeting. read more

This is some of the best fast casual eats in Fells Point! I'm so glad they have a brick & mortar location now so I can visit them anytime I'm in the area. Their pop queen arepa is one of my favorite bites in baltimore! And I just tried their cachapa and yuca fries for the first time during this visit. Poor customer service, the food was ok but rude people I don't think I will be back to this place

Everytime I go here they're out of something (usually anything involving healthier ingredients - think avocado and veg toppings). The food was very greasy and heavy and very mid - I tried an arepa and the sweet corn pancake. I wanna like this place so bad. The food needs slaw or pickles or something to cut all the fat. Made my tummy hurt and didn't even taste that good. read more

As a native Venezolana this is hands down some of the best Venezuelan food I have found in the DMV area. The Cachapas are a must try for EVERYONE, it's like a sweet corn pancake with cheese and it's the perfect balance of flavors, reminded so perfectly of being back home in my country. The arepa was delicious but I would have preferred a more simple filling to really enjoy the dough. Tequenos were ok, I would have probably preferred the ones with just cheese but I can't complain. Service was exactly what it needed to be and I'm happy to see them getting the love they deserve, totally a place worth trying! read more

Food is good and portions are generous. But service is incredibly slow, tables are not cleaned, and staff doesn't care.

Wow! I finally discovered why folks rave about Venezuelan arepas and Cachapas The corn bread wrappers were superb. Though I have long been a foodie loving many cuisines around the world, Venezuelan food is a relatively recent encounter. I have sampled Venezuelan arepas in popular places in NewYork, Washington, Las Vegas and at the home of Venezuelan friends. I thought "Venezuelean is OK; but nothing to write home about." At this place I "encountered the Wow" of what Venezuelan Cachapas and Arepas can be. The fillings and cheeses were generously apportioned and very tasty, but that corn bread wrapping is a whole new level of flavor. Yummy. Discover what Venezuelan 'delicioso' means. read more

I got the "Urbanite" at the Fells Point Market. The good, reasonably priced and good quick service. The beef and spicy sauce was excellent! Good kick and great flavor worked well with cheddar. The corn "pita" was also good. The not so good, because it was a "pita" type sandwich the beef and sauce was just at the top. So once you got past the first 1/4rd it was nothing but corn bread and cheese. The beef mixture was also extremely wet making the whole thing soggy. Still good though. read more
