The food truck was rented by the HOA my mother-in-law belongs to for their Autumn Community Day event. The two staffers working did a great job dishing out the orders, which I appreciated. The food was good, I had tenders and the hubby had a hot dog, both came with an order of fries. For the most part, the tenders were good, but some pieces of the meat were gross and chewy, a pet piece of mine.... I did appreciate that the dogs were kosher, and had no issues there. The fries were customizable, which an array of seasonings: Old Bay, Jalapeño Nacho (these are the ones we got), Salt and Vinegar and even Beer!? So, the issue here is that the seasoning was loaded with salt. I get it that tenders and dogs with fries are unhealthy, but I could have done with less salt. read more

Overpriced for what it is and the owner is incredibly rude and unprofessional as I experienced when he messaged me asking me to remove my initial review. In his response to my original review - which I am now editing and resubmitting here to add details of his harassment of me through Yelp messages today, he accused me of mistaking which food truck I went to. I assure you, I went to your food truck where I work. I used an online ordering system that was in place last summer. When this event occurred does not matter - as he also messaged me saying that since my review is not of a current experience, it is not relevant. I didn't know such a rule existed, that there was a time limit on your experience with a certain vendor and your ability to share it on Yelp. Now, a one star review is now especially relevant due to his extremely rude and accusatory messages to me on Oct. 4, 2022 regarding my past experience at his food truck.. The food was and still is over priced. I received an email just today at work stating that they offer online ordering and that is the system I used in my past experience. I was considering going to the food truck again to give them another chance, but now I'll never go based on his treatment of me. Now, in his messages to me, he is saying that they don't offer online ordering - get your story straight, what a mess. Previously, I had placed an order online 30 min before I was to pick it up and I received email confirmation of my order. They still hadn't made it when I went to the truck to pick it up, they just forgot about my order. So, I had to wait for my order to be made and I didn't get a chance to even eat it because my whole lunch break was spent waiting for my order. I work at a hospital and our breaks are short. Why offer preorders if you don't honor them? When I did get a chance to eat my lunch, the food was mediocre and overpriced for what it is, chicken tenders and fries. I won't be back. The chicken tenders were also chewy in parts, pretty nasty. Today, Oct 4, 2022, the owner messaged me: "You're wrong in your review and I am politely requesting you remove it, we DO NOT do preorders for lunch service, and I'd like more info on where and when you came to our truck and placed a preorder." Except, yes, they DID do preorders at his truck when I went. So, he fired the first shots accusing me of lying and then he states in further messages that I'm the one being combative. As soon as I replied where I work, he immediately changed his tone, backtracking that oh yes, they did use an online system. Sorry, but that's no excuse for poor service and overpriced basic food on top of these accusatory emails from the owner. Not my fault you made promises you cannot keep. He also messaged me: "So please check your accuracy and leave more appropriate feedback." So, for accuracy, I was at YOUR food truck and 1 star is still appropriate, thanks! read more

The wings and fries were okay. Nothing stood out not even the sauces. I would not repeat my visit. I did get the salt and vinegar seasoning on my fries. It was very overpowering. It was not bad just strong. I think the chicken would have been nice had it been sauced and not had the sauces on the side. I had such high hopes for this god truck. This food truck came to our pool twice this summer. Hubby and I had it only once. It was terrible. It was $28.50 plus $1 for credit card fee and then after tip it was $37.45. That's would've been fine if it was a nice meal but it's just a bunch of over fried dried out junk food. The fries were soggy and the "jalapeño " flavored fries were basically soggy fries with some bland orange powder on top. Wings were so dry it basically crumbled apart. The chicken tenders that are supposed to be more meat than breading was a farce . I peeled off the extra breading because it basically came apart while I tried to dip it into sauce. I hate to write negative reviews especially for small businesses because I like to support them but this is just not good. What a waste of money and cheat day on my diet. Never again. I'm sadly disappointed - generally food trucks in the area implement a fun, innovative idea you may not find at a regular brick and mortar restaurant. I thought maybe their specialty would be with their different sauces and spices. But sadly the meal was a big disappointment. I got chicken tenders and fries. My chicken was surprisingly fairly gross! It had a lot of gristle or fat, to the level that I couldn't finish it, despite the high prices. The sauces I tried also weren't good. The garlic parmesan was way too strong and sour - like an intense salad dressing. The honey mustard was mediocre (tasted like the same sauce at any old cheap chicken place). Our HOA hosted this truck, and we enjoyed the songs, tenders and fries! The fried portions are huge, so definitely a regular size is enough for even two people if you're both also having an entree. I'd say get the old bay on the fries versus some of the other options, they've got great sauces for the wings (sauce comes on the side, not the wing). This was a fun thing to have at our building. Fantastic wings. They're seasoned with old bay (my guess) and deep fried. You're given seveal sauce choices to complement the wings. The wings are fairly big and juicy - not overcooked at all. I really liked the wings plain but I did get the ranch sauce which is your standard mass market type. 4 wings for $4.25 is a very reasonable. The girl running the order window was nice enough, the food was pretty basic (which was good for kids), they were quick in preparing it, prices were a little high, but unfortunately the quality of the food was very unsatisfactory. For $36 I ended up with average fries with some seasoning, 6 over cooked wings that hadn't been cleaned very well (there were little hairs still stuck to it), and 8 rubbery cafeteria tasting chicken tenders. I REALLY wanted to like this truck since I'm all about small businesses, but this was just bad... we ended up throwing away 2/3 of why we got and had a pizza delivered as soon as we got home. read more

Second time trying this food truck and have been pleased each time. Lightly breaded tenders which were still piping hot when I got back to my office. I wish they offered a side other than fries though. A variety of sauces and seasonings to pick from. The woman taking orders is very friendly and the wait isn't too bad. Sidenote: I observed a (homeless?) man talking to the woman at the truck. I did not hear the conversation, however, he pointed to the Coke can. She gave him a Coke. First off the service is phenomenal , friendly as heck and extremely easy to talk to. If you vote less than a 5 i would LOVE to see where your wings or tenders come from -_- The bang boom sauce is THE BEST SAUCE EVER - better than chickfila and ranch...or chocolate sauce....or any other condiment you put on anything.....ever. Old Bay fries are the way to go there is no other option...if you don't get old bay.......I hope and pray you at least get bang boom sauce or old bay fries but both, I assure you, is the way to go. I have had their tenders and wings and the tenders are the BIGGEST tenders you'll ever see and the wings are lemon pepper crispy skin goodness. I went to him and said that I did not order this and ordered wings and he said "no you ordered tenders". Granted I was wearing a mask so maybe he didn't hear me but tenders and wings don't sound the same. He said I can't take this back now and just stood there staring at me and not offering to remake it. Then he said I will only give you 6 wings now and I am not giving you any more fries. I said I never ordered fries. It was so shocking that he would talk so down to a customer who was being nice and just asking for the correct order. The guy who I am assuming is the owner was so aggressive how he talk to me that I did not want to even say anything else and accepted the 6 wings for $16.He took another 20 minutes to give make the 6 wings - even though I ordered 9 but I just wanted to leave. I work at a hospital so I was trying to eat before my shift and this guy and how he treated me today made me very upset. I spent $16 for 6 wings and got the rudest treatment at this food truck. The chicken tenders were pretty good for chicken tenders that come out of a box frozen. But none of them were worth $2/each. Because, well, because they came frozen out of a box. I was assured, however, that they were deep fried "to order." Niccccce. And then there was that $8 gas station hotdog. I guess it's convenient that they serve them out of a truck. Because, if they ever run out (unlikely), they can just drive back to the gas station and get more. Actually, it's probably better to get them straight from the gas station, no middle man, because you might have a shot at some chili or relish there. At Chik n Stix, your hotdog topping options are limited to A) gas station hotdog with mustard; B) gas station hotdog with ketchup; C) gas station hotdog with mustard AND ketchup; or D) gas station hotdog au naturale. Chose this truck at the Strawberry Festival b/c kiddo wanted a hot dog. Huge mistake. After waiting in a long line to order and pay, we waited over 30 minutes for a hot dog. When they started calling numbers higher than ours and we got annoyed, guy was super defensive and obnoxious, and told us to be patient like everyone else. Lastly, details matter - the touchscreen on the iPad they were using to collect payment was absolutely filthy. We're not talking a few fingerprints, either. I sat in line for 40 mins to get a large fries, which was on the menu as an option. I finally get to the front of line, and they tell me I can't order fries alone because they only sold combos. As a vegetarian for health reasons, the only combo options -chicken wings, tenders, or hot dogs- were not suitable. These combos were also double the price of the advertised fries. I was forced to leave empty handed. Very disappointed. Several of my friends also asked for things advertised on the menu and were told that they weren't serving them. There was only one person working at the food truck, and he was both busy cooking and taking orders. So it took almost 10 minutes just to place my order for the chicken strip combo (3 chicken strips and fries. With a choice of dipping sauce for the chicken strips and a choice of dry rub for the fries). It took another 10+ minutes for me to receive my food. Way too long of a wait. The chicken strips were large, and were piping hot. The strips were pretty good, especially dipped in the blue cheese dressing. The fries with beer dry rub were still very bland, but did have a slight beer flavor. The food was marginally priced at $10 and change. The food was overall decent, but nothing stellar. read more

On the way to one of the Smithsonian museums, this food truck provided a quick bite of chicken tenders fresh out of the frier. I was told last minute that the large combo deal came with two sauces and I was offered to try one of their many. "Sure, I'll try the Boom Boom, whatever the hell that is," I said indifferently. It was tangy and mild and went perfectly with the hotter-than-the-sun bites. We discovered that we do like the sauce, the sauce that goes boom.
