Pretty good addition to Prior Lake, that being said it's priced for Prior Lake. As my husband said, if you ate somewhere in the cities with those prices, you'd expect, and have, a damn good meal. Pretty much exactly what I was expecting--decent food in a pretty atmosphere at ridiculous prices that suburbanites would just LOVE. That being said, I'm not saying it was a bad meal, just not amazing. I ordered the prime rib tacos which would have been amazing had the tortillas not tasted like they came straight from Target. Husband got the prime rib sandwich that really was quite good. In the battle of the dishes, his won for sure. The fries were also spectacular. It's so exciting to have another steak/high end option south of the cities!!! The Caesar salad wasn't amazing so I'd pass on that, but we had the Burrata (awesome) New York strip and scallops and they were all excellent. My New York strip was seared and cooked absolutely perfectly. The scallops were as beautiful as they were delicious. I can't wait to go back and continue exploring the menu!!! read more

I came here for restaurant week and was impressed. The steak was great, super tender with just enough seasoning. For sides I wish it came with both the mashed potatoes and asparagus but it's one or the other. The key lime pie was amazing, if they sold whole pies I would have bought one in a heartbeat. This is a great New restaurant in Prior Lake (opened last December) We were there on New Years Eve and the food was fabulous. We have been there a few times since for Happy Hour/dinner and the food has always meet our expectations. Last week we had an association get together there and they were very accommodating and everything again met everyone's expectations. Kudos to Matt and our waitress Debra. We live in the area and heard about this place when it opened, but read some of the negative reviews early on and never gave it a chance. We recently noticed the reviews had taken a positive turn, with many folks updating their reviews to reflect the restaurant's improvements on some of the early hiccups. We decided to give it a shot tonight, and we're so glad we did. Our table of four (plus our 2-year-old) was seated and soon greeted by our outstanding server Nicholas. Drink orders came quickly and the pineapple martini, in particular, was perfect. Everyone at our table had studied the menu ahead of time and had an idea what we were going to order, but after Nicholas told us about the specials, two of us changed our minds and opted for specials. Everyone at the table raved about their dishes: the halibut special, the red snapper, the crab leg special (HUGE crab legs!), and the tres amigos pasta were all fantastic. The bison sausage in the pasta (my dish) was so good, I can't wait to have it again. Portion sizes were very generous; it's rare I don't finish a meal but I had to throw in the towel and admit defeat on the pasta. Some will say the restaurant is noisy, and I'd agree - it may not be great for a romantic first date, though the laid back yet upscale feel might actually be perfect. For us, we were thrilled that our 2-year-old could be himself without disrupting any other diners. We noticed happy hour is 7 days a week, and we've been growing tired of our long-time happy hour spot, so thinking we'll be back sometime in the next week for happy hour. Stopped by PLate with my coworkers for happy hour and I'm so glad we did! I had the old fashioned which was amazing and we couldn't decide on an app so we ordered just about every happy hour appetizer and they were all amazing. A coworker loves calamari so we also got that which was a hit and even though we were all stuffed, we couldn't resist the tiramisu and key lime pie. Oh my. Really mixed feelings about PLate. Upon entering the fairly non-descript but modern building we were blasted with a very loud wall of sound. It almost made us head back out. Forget about a nice dinner conversation? We were seated quickly and then waited for 15+ minutes for a waiter to approach. Finally the manager came over and took our order. The pear salad was good but nothing memorable...and then came the Saffron Paella--it was spectacular with generous amounts of seafood (shrimp, scallops, mussels, crab, clam) all expertly prepared and served atop absolutely delicious rich and creamy rice. Mmmm. I definitely would return for the paella alone. (And kudos to the manager for stopping over to our table as we were leaving and apologizing for the delays.) read more

2nd time here, still not impressed. Had baby back ribs, they fell off the bone easily but meat itself was very dry. Ribs were placed right on top of French Fries- Big NO NO..... Coleslaw on another side was pretty good. It's not your typical coleslaw, this one had a spin to it. Shrimp Scampi was 1 out of 10 shrimp was good everything else is nasty. The sauce they used is plain ghee with no flavor. Prime Rib Sandwich- meat was blah- no flavor, au jus was bland, again-no flavor, Arby's is better. We came to the Plate for Mother's Day and had a reservation for 1:45 since we had a party of 8. It took ten minutes to set up our table when we arrived which is understandable I guess but kind of defeated the purpose of setting up a reservation for a large party. From the time we were seated until the time our waiter took our drink order was 10 minutes. It took another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Our waiter didn't come back to take our order until 20 minutes later. When our food arrived almost an hour later it was luke warm and they didn't bring all of our food together and they forgot some things. For a place of this caliber I honestly expected more. Our waiter was very inexperienced and poorly trained. I can't recommend this restaurant and we will not be back. read more

Came in on a wednesday night around 6PM with a group of 3, they had a decent amount of people in the restuarant already but we were seated right away. Overall a great experience. Menu is a little smaller however they do everything they have really well. We ordered the sea bass, the shrimp francais and the new york strip for our entrees, every entree was great! The steak was ordered at medium rare but was cooked a little more on the medium side, still good though since it was such a tender piece of meat. The red pepper sauce for the sea bass was excellent, great amount of flavor with a little bit of heat but not enough for anybody who doesn't like heat to dislike it. The shrimp francais was very good, the shrimp were huge! for sure worth the price on this one. We also ordered the steak bites for an appetizer, again very good and tender, the dipping sauce that came with it was very good! We also ordered a seafood chowder soup, this was so good! The flavors were on point and it did not taste overly salty like how some soups do. Overall really liked this place, not sure if we would come back all the time though since the meal for the 3 of us was about $180 before tip, so it is a little pricey for a more casual meal, but they had a great food menu and great drink menu! read more

My hubby and I decided to try this on a whim, having seen it when heading to a different restaurant. I had a pomegranate cosmo, that came out with a bit of dry ice, causing it to steam and smoke, which was fun. The drink itself was wonderfully tart and flavorful. For dinner, I chose the scallops, while hubby went with parmesan chicken. My scallops were done perfectly, and came with a delicious garden risotto and asparagus, which was al dente and perfect. Hubby got key lime pie for dessert, and the one bite I had was amazing. We often vacation in Florida, and this rivaled any pie made in the Keys. Finally, service was excellent and cheerful. Our first time at this new restaurant. We were very excited to try it. We were greeted warmly by our server, whose name was Stefanie. She was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My wife had scallops with the risotto and it was delicious and I had prime rib and brussels sprouts. Both were cooked perfectly and very tasty. For dessert we did share tiramisu and it was excellent.
