Stopped by Plate for a late lunch today. A few tables in and outdoors, nicely lit, and a big chalk board with the week's special and their juices. My coworkers seem to frequent this restaurant and I've heard good things. The special of the day was a chicken or pork chop chop, I didn't feel like having that so I decided on the chicken pesto wrap with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. There was a curry chicken wrap on their menu online, but I guess they discontinued it? The guy who took my order was constantly sticking his finger in his ear... Itchy ear? I don't know but I'm glad he wasn't handling my food... The food was ready quickly. I was not asked if I wanted my food to dine in or to-go. They just assumed it was for take-out and they brought it to me ready in a bag. But I actually planned on eating in... It was ok, a little bland. The wrap was quickly getting soggy by the liquidy sauce. I wanted to eat one half and save the other, but was scared it'd become a soggy and unappetizing wet mess. So I ate the whole thing haha. Good thing I was hungry. The chicken and mozzarella tasted fresh. The guava bread pudding was delicious. If I came back, I'd probably get one of their specials or breakfast. Extra points for breakfast all day. read more

Homey vibe, friendly service, affordable prices, and healthy food. This is a tiny laid-back cafe that you've always wanted in the neighborhood just to de-stress. The Q-ban wrap was healthy-tasting, but didn't impress. The plantain in it definitely did help make the flavor come out (other stuff in it included bitter baby greens, brown rice, and turkey picadillo). The lean turkey sandwich was tasty - you get to pick between French, Cuban, or wheat bread. Nice touch. The orders don't come with any sides though so if you want more, you can order something else, In this case, I had the mashed sweet potato which was tasty. You could also customize your salad here. Coffee is well-priced (I would definitely make this a good place to chat). They even have soy latte for soy drinkers ($2). But really, I loved the sweet guava and cream cheese bread pudding - I would have that one consistently! There's limited seating inside and outside - which is okay since most orders are delivered. They have magazines and newspapers for your perusal. And you can bring your laptop here too as there is free wi-fi. Prices are really recession-friendly - most orders are less than $6 - so you could add sides or desserts to your meal. I would like to come back for their breakfast though, which is $3.99 or less. Definitely a good weekday daytime hangout! read more

PLATE is a small but unique restaurant that serves great food and provides many healthy options. I've only been to PLATE in the morning for breakfast and it's amazing. Their food is always made to order. The only thing negative I can say is the fact that you come out smelling like the kitchen. If you don't want your cloths to smell like food then I recommend eating outside. The inside seating is small but cozy and they also offer an outside seating area. The service at PLATE is fantastic. The staff members are friendly and helpful. read more

Met up with my good buddy here for lunch since it was near his new job, the reviews from friends spoke highly of it and the Yelp deal of $10 for $5 I also saw a fellow Yelper, Sandra F, picking up some lunch but she didn't seem to see me There is something to be said about the quality of the food here that there is a certain sub chain right next door and this place was busier I had some kind of chicken sandwich on french bread and it was really tasty and big Besides being delicious and abundant, it also seemed to be fresh and on the healthier tip The place is tiny with about 7 or 8 small tables but the lunch crowd is moving so it shouldn't be hard to find a table Me Gusta read more

I don't know what to say...for once! I gave it a try and the people were SUPER (in a Miami accent) nice but the food wasn't that great! It was good but not great! The chicken breasts I had were supposed to be grilled but they were SO dry, they had the texture of a "chancleta"! The rice and beans was good, tasted good but again a bit toooo dry! And I hate to say it 'cause again they were so sweet! But you got some work to do guys! I can go to "la Fritanga" and get better, fresher food even a $1 or $2 cheaper than here.... What I did love, was the guava and cheese bread pudding! OMG! I've never had it anywhere else and that's the ONLY reason why I would even think of giving you guys a second chance! But I really, really do appreciate how nice and hospitable you were..... read more

This place is good for a quick, healthy bite. Prices are reasonable and service is good. I had the daily special last week (two soft tacos with a side of brown rice and house salad). The fish taco was better than the ground turkey, they needed a little bit more flavor, the whole meal was a bit bland (health conscious doesn't mean it can't be tasty). I also checked in so I could try the Guava and Cheese Bread pudding. Overall underwhelming, it actually looks quite yummy in the pictures so I was excited to try it but wasn't impressed. I can see this place being good for people that work walking distance from it that want a healthier choice but just not for me. PS Park on the street, cheaper than the garage in the bldg. read more

Convenient, healthy, affordable, fresh, fast, and friendly. Call in or dine in. In and outdoor seating.

I can't say enough great things about Plate. They offer a variety of foods: soups, salads, sandwiches, fresh smoothies, all kinds of daily specials, breakfast.. I really like the daily specials because they are phenomenal and always changing. Yesterday they had a delicious chicken lasagna which sold out. They also have a bunch of sweet treats which ALL look tempting. Lucky for me they offer a free guava and cheese bread pudding the first time you check in. I am not crazy about guava but I am crazy about this! It is so delicious and has heightened my Plate addiction! Highly recommend this local place. Prices are great, the owner is awesome, and the customer service is wonderful. read more

I literally just got back from lunch. I am actually eating the FREE Guava and Cheese Bread Pudding I got for visiting and checking-in to PLATE. IT IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. Anyway... How did I end here? Today I wanted to have lunch in the grove at this place I had seen (the name never came to mind) so I opted for another place. I stumbled across PLATE. Yet another hole in the wall ( I love small restaurants they are the BEST EVER). So... I convinced my co-worker to come eat with me. She was skeptical (she had checked their website and did not like any of their plates). So... What other way to truly knowing whether you like something or not than by giving it a try. So she did! I ordered today's special (Curry Chicken & Coconut Brown Rice) and an order of Lentil Soup ( I LOVE LENTIL SOUP). And oh my! The soup was amazing and the Curry chicken with Coconut Brown Rice.... I cannot even describe it. Full of flavor and not too spicy. It came with an itty bitty side order of salad and a "red sauce" was given to me with it. THE RED SAUCE IS GREAT TOO. SWEET AND A TAD TINGY. YOU MUST TRY IT! My co-worker had a "MOJO CHICKEN SANDWICH." When her order came I was impressed. It was the biggest chicken sandwich I have seen. She said it was really good and she was only able to eat half. Now... comes the best part... the TOTALLY FREE GUAVA & CHEESE BREAD PUDDING. This pudding is to die for. Super delicious. Come give this place a try and judge for yourself. You won't regret it! OH YEAH! THANK ME LATER! read more

I Ordered the "Big one" for breakfast today and the banana pancakes were so yummy. The delivery took about 40 mins to Brickell which wasn't too bad. I tried ordering directly from plate.com but I think there having issues with their website since it kept refreshing itself. Therefore I had to order through postmates. Cant wait to try their lunch :) read more

Stopped by "Plate" to grab a bite on the way down to Key Largo and I thought it was a great stop. Found it via yelp, of course. The owner Toto was super nice and friendly, and gave us the name of the best key lime pie in key largo (which we tried later and confirmed that was it was in fact very good). Anyhow, their special soup of the day was Crema de Malanga which is a family member of plantains I think? It tasted quite starchy but something that my fiance liked a lot. I enjoyed it as well, but I just picked out of his bowl. Toto was kind enough to let us sample some as soon as we walked in. Needless to say, we were sold. At least for one bowl. Just looking at the menu made me feel healthy! It felt great seeing they use wheat breads and brown rice as default, and fat free yogurt for smoothies! For that reason, I had to get myself a coral way smoothie (strawberries, oj, banana and fat free yogurt). I thought the smoothie was great and it made me feel less fat while drinking it hahah For food, I order the pesto chicken and my fiance had the pan con lechon. I ended up trading with him because I liked his pan con lechon a lot more. It was a drier pork sandwich, but oh, so tasty! Definitely a recommendation by me. The prices are very reasonable as well and I would recommend people to come here for a good meal. At the end of the meal, we also tried their bread pudding as well and it was a "thumbs up" from me as well. I just wish my stomach was big enough to eat the whole thing, but sadly it wasn't. The pan con lechon filled me up quite nicely. =) read more

Amazing food...extremely friendly staff...and I personally love how they are doing a terrific job at keeping customers and staff safe with their COVID Protocols. My son had a veggie burger with avocado. He said it's one of the best veggie burgers he has ever had. He's been eating vegetarian since 2015. My wife had a Blackened Chicken Signature Bowl and an iced latte. She has continually raved about it and told me that I must post a review about this place. I had a Lean Turkey Wrap which was also very very good. If you are local and not been here; give it a try. It's a cute little spot to grab a quick bite, lady at the front was really nice. I spent $10 for a chicken empanada and "green machine smoothie" I though the smoothie was over priced $8 and they aren't made fresh they sit inside the fridge, it was so bitter I asked the lady if she can add a banana so she did without charging me. My advice- don't get delivery. This place is probably really good if you go there and get your food fresh. My food looked appetizing but the bread pudding tasted old and was super hard to chew. I also got a wrap and by the time it got here the inside of the to-go box was super wet and the whole wrap was soggy. Definitely did not taste how I was hoping. I probably won't eat here again unless I'm nearby and can sit down for fresh food. Prices are also very reasonable. read more

We are across the street from this place, we order coffee and food regularly, until we found cockroaches in our coffee..... yeap, like that. We call to complain and the owner came screaming and kicking stuff at my business !!! .... he was kick it out by me and we are in the process of making all the police report on how this guy behaved. All recorded in our surveillance system. If you want pictures of the bugs, send me a message. read more

The food is mediocre, but it's not total slop. The reason this place gets 1 star from me is because of the owner's attitude. Being even minimally polite seems to be an exhaustive effort. At one point I brought a bagel back with a smile and some patience despite the fact that the cream cheese on it was obviously spoiled - and his response was to snap at me/demand what the problem was before I could open my mouth. I'd rather go hungry than give this place my patronage again. Try to deal with Jay when you go there. He is very sweet and kind, and seems to understand customer service much better than his boss. read more

This place is awesome for breakfast or lunch. The food is healthy and the prices cheap. I went for lunch and had a lot of options with sandwiches, salads, wraps and the entree special. I went with the Mojo Chicken sandwich on wheat and was super happy. They let you pick your bread with all the sandwiches and the prices range from $2.50-$6.50!! I didn't try the coffees or smoothies but they had a wide selection and everything looked great. Actually they had a great beverage selection in general with teas, soda and juices. And most importantly three words: Guava Bread Pudding. Holy heaven. This is a great spot to have a cheap lunch, or to hang out and chill. They have tables outside under cover and a few cozy tables inside with newspapers and magazines to peruse. I enjoyed chatting with the owner, Toto (sp?). He's all about healthy eats on the cheap and I am very impressed with his Plate. read more

Whole wheat pan con lechon. Guava and cheese bread pudding. A colada. For lunch. Not sold yet? Healthy, delicious, cheap with a Latin flair. These are all adjectives I never thought would ever go together in one sentence. Plate is all of these things tucked into a small, intimate cafe, the Brickell worker's dream come true. Come by any time for lunch to get your caffeine fix and try a wallet-friendly creative concoction. My first time here, I decided to get the Indian curry wrap, while my husband ordered the pan con lechon. Needless to say, I snuck in more bites of his meal than of mine. We shared the bread budding for dessert and politely offered each other the last bite while secretly hoping the other would decline. If I worked in this hood, this would totally be my go-to spot. But I don't, so I beg you, take my spot! read more

Only have a sec? Eat here. It's great. Have a bit more time? Read on. Most of us don't pay much attention to lunch. We're all focused with work and by the time lunch time comes we usually get whatever might be most convenient. And that's usually not a good way to decide our nutrition. Plate is a God-send. The concept is simple: one main dish prepared very fresh daily. Of course the menu also has some simple sandwiches and salads. The daily dish is the main attraction. One day it's Chicken Lasagna. Another it's fish tacos with cilantro brown rice and coleslaw. One thing is certain: No matter the day, the dish is delicious. The chef takes care each day to prepare the dish as if though you were coming over to his house. (The chef and staff are also incredibly friendly and treat everyone like Family...it's like a Cheers but for lunch.) Now healthy does not mean that it's low in calories and you'll drop pounds. It just means fresh, quality ingredients and choices (brown vs white rice). However, in moderation (as the dishes here are served) it can certainly help in any diet. And the dishes are also very inexpensive. Wow! Thus, I can afford to eat here every day (they even have a meal plan). So, in the end I still don't have to worry about or pay attention to lunch. Only difference is I know I'm having something good! read more
