Avo has a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere with lovely indoor décor and great outdoor seating. It's clearly a very dog-friendly spot, which I really appreciated. The pastry display looked amazing -- definitely tempting for my next visit. I tried a bowl with falafel this time and was disappointed; it didn't have the flavor or texture one would expect from good falafel and was unfortunately tasteless. Since that's all I ordered, I can't fairly rate the whole menu. I plan to return and try something else from their extensive vegan options, which looked much more promising. read more

Avo is a nice and clean new restaurant. Everything looks healthy with organic ingredients. The owner, i believe his name was Bullet, was a very friendly man. I had the truffle omelet. It was cooked a little overdone. It needed a little more seasoning in the egg mixture, it didnt have too much flavor. The toast was also a bit dry. My friend had a piece of loaf, it was pumpkin or banana, and said it needed butter because it was dry. The juice tasted fresh and good. Maybe skip the food and come for juice and smoothies? Fresh on fresh on fresh! Everything I have had from their menu i has been so good. Juices, smoothies, salads, bowls and sandwiches have been 10/10. The ingredients are top notch and well worth the higher price tag. Bowls are filling and feel "clean". I love the watermelon juice - comes in a tallboy can and feels like you are drinking straight from a watermelon. The menu can feel large and overwhelming but it is thoughtfully crafted. Stop by for a quick pick me up post workout or have a sit down casual dinner. You won't be disappointed. read more

I indulged in a breakfast feast starting with the protein breakfast bowl. Don't forget to add the sauce on the side. It is so good! To satisfy my sweet tooth, I tried the gluten free banana bread. As someone with gluten sensitivity, I am so grateful that they have so many gluten free options. And delicious too! Even if you aren't gluten-free, you have to try the banana bread. I also had the golden tumeric latte, which did more than quench my thirst with its unique spicy flavor. The restaurant is located in the newly remodeled center of Mayfair. The decor is full of wooden accents and other nature-inspired elements. You can conveniently order your food at the counter and have it brought to you by the charming folks that work there. I am trying not to be a cranky new Englander here but my one and only experience with Avo was supremely disappointing. I came in during lunch to order a sandwich to go to take with me on a boat tour. The place wasn't that busy and I had an hour to order, wait, walk down to the marina, and get on the boat. I ordered quickly and then proceeded to wait over half an hour for my sandwich to go. Despite inquiring many times with multiple staff members and informing them that I had a boat I was going to miss if I didn't get my sandwich soon, they kept telling me it was "almost ready" (this happened at least 5 times across 15 minutes). I ultimately did not get my sandwich at all as I had to leave to not miss my tour, and I ended up hungry and cranky the rest of the afternoon because I hadn't eaten. Maybe it's just me, but it seems utterly ridiculous to not be able to order counter service and get it within the half hour - why even bother with a counter service place? Why not just sit down for table service? Especially when they are prompting you for a tip!! Two stars because they did give me the matcha I ordered and that was decent. The food is probably good too but if you have a life or a real job beyond "beach" and "look hot", you'll probably never find out. read more
