I'm in love with this adorable café. It is so challenging to find healthy options in Miami. I came in for breakfast and had the Shakespeare and banana bread. Both were delicious, and I was able to consume them without any regrets. I love the ambiance. The walls are lined with bookshelves and quotes by famous authors and philosophers. There are classic soft rock 80s tunes playing in the background. All the menu items are named after authors, artists, and scientists. The only thing that would have improved the experience would be a side salad included with my meal and some gluten-free bread options. The bowls they offer for lunch sounded very tasty. I noticed, very cool names in the menu for each meal. The meal that I had was "Elvis Presley". A delicious soup was came included. I took it to go. I couldn't even figure out how to order an iced coffee with my order. Placed the order 20 minutes ahead, giving ample time for the two sandwiches to be ready, walked in to an empty restaurant with both of the employees just sitting there on their phone, and they had no idea what my already prepaid order was. It seems appropriate for my 300th review that I begin with a confession. I've never had avocado toast. Ok, I said it. Admitting you have a problem is the first step! I had just finished getting my eyebrows threaded at my fave spot Yodi next door and had been wanting to try this place and what better time to pop my avocado toast cherry than at a place that serves ZTB bread, one of my faves. There were not many people there at 11:30ish on Saturday morning and I was able to order right away. I was a bit suspicious of the description of the Michaelangelo which read: Smashed avocado hass, organic avocado oil, chía & sunflower seeds... but I decided to have faith. It was $8.95 plus $1.00 for the addition of an organic egg which I requested to be fried. With tip the total was just over $11. Service was friendly but their English was not great. They didn't attempt to interact with me in any way to see if it was my first time or if I had any questions but they were very polite overall. I liked that they had a large container of water with strawberries available for self serve, so I filled my bottle and waited at the bar. My order was ready in no time and I appreciated that because I mentioned I was in a rush. The to-go order came in a cute brown bag and I happily toted it home where I unwrapped it like a little gift. It was freaking delicious. I'm an avocado toast fan for life! My only small gripe is the price. I get the high quality ingredients, it was just so yummy I wish there were more! read more

I'm only giving it four starts because it was pretty cramped. I sat at the bar but people were sitting at the table behind me so I could barely move without bumping them and for someone 6 feet tall with long legs, not the funniest but I would surely go back, if just sit a table. They have many options (healthy) for breakfast and lunch which was great. I got the Hemingway omelette which was delish. The juice shots are good too and not over priced. This is great place to come for a healthy and delicious breakfast. I love to have the Hemingway egg dish. It's an organic omelette with mushrooms and goat cheese. It comes with a small side salad that is really good as well. Not cheap for $12, but considering it is organic, I guess it's not so bad. This is now the 3rd (yes, i have them 3 chances) time that my beloved avocado toast has not only been disappointing, but flat out inedible. Today, I ordered delivery. Not only was it almost an hour late, but they added an underdone poached egg AND didn't even heat up/toast the bread! SO gross. It was all slimy egg white on a soggy piece of bread yet somehow had burnt edges?!? Thankfully, my Neruda Smoothie was good as were the ginger shots. Too bad tho. This little cafe is such a cute spot to have a healthy good looking breakfast but parking is tough unless you work in one of the office buildings around. If you google the directions it will take you to the back of the building it is located at. It is the building located next to a Taco Bell. I had the Octavio Paz smoothie which I loved because it was fresh and filling I just wish they can offer a bigger serving. . I also had the Einstein bowl which I kept reading about . It's pretty much an avocado bowl and you can add any type of protein with it, It's nice for lunch the only thing was that maybe the sweet potatoes that it has was a bit over cooked. My partner had a Picasso panini which was nothing out of the ordinary. It's all fresh so it will take time for them to prepare so if you're tight on time then grab a smoothie or place your order online. You get a nice slab of Zak The Baker multigrain bread covered with fresh avocado, grape tomato and sunflower seeds. They have several different versions and I'll be trying them all. Ordered the Einstein bowl (avocado, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, roasted sweet potato and candy walnuts topped with a honey mustard dressing, tomato, fresh cheese), which we topped with seared tuna, and the Steve Jobs (locally sourced kale, boiled egg, multigran croutons, shaved parmesan, topped with Caesar salad dressing), which we topped with grilled chicken. The bowls/salads are delicious and made fresh. After I ordered, they began cooking the chicken and seared the tuna. One downside, however, is the parking. There is no parking, and you cannot park in the Taco Bell next door or anywhere else around. Since this area has very limited street parking and most places around have their own parking, there is not a good alternative. We would have eaten in, but didn't since one of us had to stay in the car & circle around the block, so we couldn't. Food is delicious and fresh, but parking and location are definite downsides. read more

I was excited when a new coffee shop came to my neighborhood. The menu looked super cute with different dishes named after famous philosophers, artists, inventors. They have a variety of egg dishes, sandwiches and bowls. I ordered the ZTB toast that came with turkey and an egg. It was good, but not as filling as I hoped. The egg was over hard which surprised me but made it easier to eat than a runny egg. The dish came out on a skillet but that was solely for presentation and the plate was cold. I also had the Americano coffee which was good and I appreciated that they brought me warm milk but they brought almost as much milk as they did coffee. For 3 dollars they need to have a larger option for coffee. My meal was a little over 13 dollars and not very filling. I was really looking forward to coming here to work and enjoy a coffee. Unless they add a bottomless cup to the menu or lower the price on their dishes a bit, I'll quickly go broke if I return too often. read more

The prices are on the mid to high end for a cafe, but I am happy to pay for quality ingredients. The service was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which I appreciated. It really saddens me to write this review because I was such a fan of this place but after today's experience I was really bothered. I found this place one day when I was off from work and I wanted something delicious and light before heading out to the beach. I ended up ordering a Plato shot and the Michael Angelo avocado toast. I was obsessed with the shot, it was so delicious I bragged about the place to my coworkers, we work down the street and ordered all the time. Today I ordered 30 minutes ahead of time to go in and out since this place has no parking. To my surprise, my order wasn't ready and had to wait an addition 10 minutes. (They told me it would be ready in less than 10 minutes) when I went to pay the gentleman in who was charging told me he couldn't take my half broken $20. Mind you, the bill was still intact, with a tear in the middle. An easy fix, they could've easily put tape on it and that's it, no big deal. The gentleman at the register asked the owner if he could make an exception and she told me no, with a smug face, and asked me to go next door to the threading spot to ask them to change the bill. I'm not giving yodi threading business... I'm giving them business and they're turning me away over something that they could've taken care of. Never in my life have I seen a business turn away money. They didn't even offer me to take the shots and call in with a credit card once I got back to work. The most important thing about a business is the customer service they provide along side the quality of what they sell. With the way that the owner handled this situation today I see why this place is usually empty. All of this being said, you lost a customer, a loyal one who would go 3+ times a week, and my coworkers' business as well. read more
