If I could give this Company a !ZERO! I would Buyer BEWARE! Marcelo is a LIAR and FRAUD! The day I called to have someone come out to give me a quote. He answered the phone very quickly and was at my house that same day. His price was good, probably too good as I now know why. He took my old shutter and I'm pretty sure he used parts from my old shutter that he was not authorized to do so. He said he was doing a color match, but when I asked for my shutter back, he said that it was thrown in the trash he came he installed the new shutter and gave me a discount for the other shutter he took. He left that day and everything looked aesthetically right. Because it had been cold and I typically run my AC I hadn't opened that particular window. So I went to open this window and could not push it open because the louvers are blocking the window from sliding open. The dimensions are completely off and now I consider this a very scary fire hazard I called him. I left several voicemails texted him several times and even emailed him. To no reply then one day I called him from my home phone and he answered. He was so nice and very quick to tell me he would be getting over to my house to remedy the problem. I said I really really appreciate this. Thank you so much. I just want to be able to open my window. It's Not been installed correctly. I waited two weeks to where he never called me and never showed up. I started to text him again asking why he was avoiding me now... This is what I'm going to say to you he seems to have only customer Service skills when he first shows up to your job to give you a price quote but his material and his installation are utter crap! DO NOT under any circumstance allow him to take an old shutter with any excuse for him to measure or match paint. This will be a lie! Honestly, I feel bad for anyone who uses this scam artist! What I will tell you, as I've already reported him to the Better Business Bureau and have contacted the city his business resides in And. They are well aware of him and his antics. BUYERS BEWARE! Hey Marcelo, if you decide to take responsibility and want to come fix the issue, I might just edit this review but that that's on you!? read more

Very poor customer service! When Marcello gets compensated for his job, no matter what kind of problem you have with his product right after installation 1 or 2 months in, good luck to bring him back to fix his poor installation. Later on found out his prices were higher than others. read more

We are so glad we went with Shutters for Less. We priced them out with several businesses and found them here for about $500 less than anywhere else. The owner was very respectful, timely, and did a great job from doing the custom measurements to the installation 2 weeks later. The shutters look great, are great quality, and added so much aesthetically to our living and dining rooms. read more

The shutters are beautiful and were installed quickly! The owner Marcelo is very nice and professional. He and his crew did a wonderful job installing our shutters in helping us make a fifth bedroom by closing up a wall and a doorway. One of the doors opened in a different direction than I thought it would so I called him and asked if he could switch it out. Within a few days, he returned and reworked it for us without a problem. I will definitely be using them again! :) read more

I've used these guys for over 3 homes, and they've never disappointed. Marcello is an expert at what he does. I did every door and window for my own house, absolute great decision. Saves on heating and cooling expenses also. read more

Tried calling and making an appt for someone, I guess the owner, to come by. He made an appt with me and never showed up. The very next day he apologized and made yet another appt to come by our place for a price quote. He flaked again!!! Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!...... They had our business, all we asked was for someone to come by to give us a price quote. Sad part is they came highly recommended. Can't say the same, as my experience was terrible. read more

Company installed nice looking shutters and were very responsive until the shutters began breaking from normal use. Called over seven times and was told that someone would come out and fix them. I'm still waiting. read more

Plantation Shutters For Less - Looked good for a few years Than started to fall apart. They've promised many times to fix, but haven't. - Shutters Near Me - Van Nuys, California

I got a couple of quotes for my house windows plantation shutters. My friend recommended "Marcelo", when I called him to get the quote, he visited the house and provided the lowest quote among others. When I told him, I wanted it installed within 2 weeks. He was kind enough to accommodate my request and completed installation within time. I definitely recommend "Marcelo" for windows plantation shutters. read more

This is the second experience with Plantation Shutters For Less. I was so very satisfied with the first experience I asked them to make shutters for another room. I was just as satisfied with them the second time. The shutters are just beautiful. The are just what I wanted. The company told me what they thought would be the best and I agreed. They did exactly what they said and when they said the shutters would be ready to install. The price was very fair. The installation was done in a very professional manner. Bottom line I could not be more happy with Plantation Shutters For Less. I recommend them very highly. Herb Sherman Oaks read more

Shutters installed, within a short period the valance cracked, not fastened correctly. The screws started falling out and shutter cannot be opened. Poor quality work, materials shotty. Called and can never get him to come and fix. Ignores emails, texts and phone messages. Very eager to make sale, install. But quality of work and materials below standard. read more

This company was awesome. We really lucked out when we found Marcelo. He answered when I called, met us at his office/ showroom. Gave us a fair price and didn't try to haggle. When he came to the house the price went up a bit but only because the windows are huge! It was still totally inexpensive for beautiful wooden shutters. He got them made in two weeks, called to say they were ready and installed the next day in an hour. I love them! They are beautiful and totally transformed my house! Plus, Marcelo was a pleasure to do business with. If you can get a meeting with him do it! read more

The shutters that came with my place recently lost a staple that holds the slat to the vertical controller thingy. I had trouble finding the right sized staple, and when I did find it, I had to by 5,000! I called, and Marcello was super nice. He said I could come by, and he'd give me a few for free, even though I hadn't bought my shutters there. I swung by, and he gave me two sizes to try. I really appreciate it, and I'd go there if I needed new shutters. read more

Devon, is a perfectionist and all around good guy. He installed 2 sliders and 3 shutters at our house including a couple that had to be hoisted through a balcony door. It was a bonus to have a company that builds the shutters and installs too. Although he estimated 4 hours, he stayed nearly 8 hours to ensure that everything was just right. I would highly recommend Plantation Shutters For Less for your next job. read more

Marcello and his team did an amazing job. I shopped around and could not fine anyone else who could beat his price or quality. Marcello came in to my home and verify my measurements and in two weeks had 41 wood 4 inch shutters installed. He brought a crew of three and in about 6 hours they completed the job. The look are amazing, friends and family who come to our home can not believe how good it looks. read more

Since march of 2016 when I had Plantation Shutters install shutters in the windows of my new home shutters have fallen out of the windows. I have called Marcelo more times than I can remember and he never calls back. Very poor materials, very poor workmanship and the worst service I have ever had from a company. Stay away from this guy. read more

I would recommend that you stay away from this company. Marcello left our shutters uncompleted, then had the nerve to talk bad behind my back to customers that we referred! A total smooth talker con job salesman!!!!! read more

Poor service. Marcelo came out and gave me a quote, but I later had questions. I tried to e-mail him, no response. I tried calling his office (never answers, no answering machine). I tried his cell, and left several messages which weren't returned. Once I got him in person and he promised he'd call me back the next day, but never did. Then I finally talked to him and he said I could come to his shop to see samples the next morning. I did, at the appointed time, only to be met by someone else who said, "Marcelo never comes in for at least another hour or two." And no one else there could answer my questions. So I wasted a trip. What terrible customer service. I can't get in touch with them even when I WANT to give them money. That doesn't speak well for any after-sales issues I might have. I'm going to someone else who actually cares about their customers. Sorry. I hate writing one-star reviews but I feel like I've bent over backwards to try and get in touch with this company, but they don't seem to care. read more

Devon was one of the nicest guys to work with. Very attentive and wanted to make sure that I was happy with the finished product. I would highly recommend giving this company your business. Very price competitive! read more

Wow, I'm amazed that Marcelo was able to walk me through an issue with my plantation shutters over the phone. He was patient, knowledgeable, and I really appreciate it. Plantation shutters is the place to order your shutters. Two years ago they did My shutters and did an amazing job with compatible price. Recently one of the shutters broke and I went to there factory to order replacement. The owner Marcello told his guys to make one for me while I was waiting. Why go to Home Depot or Lowes and wait 6 weeks or longer (and pay WAY more) when you can get quality shutters installed fast for less? Plus, the owner is so friendly and accommodating! My husband and I love the way our shutters look and we couldn't be happier. Thank you SO much! read more

I had explained to Marcelo that I would be ordering shutters at different times. His first one was done nicely. The two stars are for the good start. Later, when I called to make other orders. He became non responsive, not returning my calls. I do not understand why? I paid him immediately and have been respectful. After a few months, today, I called to order two more shutters. He picked up and coldly said, " I'm busy now." I asked, " When can we talk since I want to place another order." He hung up. Just like that. I believe this guy has no respect for women specially older women. " Actions speak louder than words." So, here is my one piece of advice to him: "Life is not only this moment when you feel full of yourself." Simple, just call the client back or have someone do it for you. Tell the client, " I'm sorry that I can not return your call. I have had some orders and am unable to take any new orders for 10 months, 10 years.. If you like to wait, leave your information and we call you when we can. Right now, we don't know when. Or if you want to reject someone, because they remind you of your mother that you hate, just tell them, " Sorry, I can not take any new orders." As simple as that. read more

I am baffled by the good reviews and relied on them but my experience was horrible. I made multiple calls, emails, and texts to Marcelo and Vanessa. Every time they promised to get back to me and every time they clearly lied. Waste of a whole week! I have moved on and recommend you do as well, and look for a reliable company, one that may give you the courtesy of calling you back. read more
