In general I like going to planet fitness. The club is reasonably clean. One of the urinals has been out of service for weeks. The drinking fountain has a rag or some wrapped around the fountain to discourage you from using it. Many equipment pieces have vinyl that is cracked or completely worn through. A health hazard as it cannot be properly cleaned. Cup holders are missing on much of the aerobic machines so you cannot put your water bottle there as it will fall to the floor. The club needs a dedicated cleaning team and not rely on front desk staff to clean the place and equipment. Put twostair climbers together so work out buddies can exercise together. read more

Plenty of equipment to use. Staff is friendly for the most part. 24 hour access is a plus. The only real downside is the parking during peak times. The massage chairs and beds are pretty sweet. I've gone in there just to use those. I don't tan, so I can't really speak on that.​ read more

3 stars on cleanliness at the NW Blvd. I used to see staff going around with a portable vacuum, and crawling around wiping down the various machines. Currently, , the machine are filthy, covered in dust and old sweat, especially the aerobic devices. The underpinnings of all the machines haven't been cleaned in a long time. The machines are fixed quickly which is a plus to the company. Bathrooms look clean so that's a plus! Staff are friendly but some do a lot of sitting, looking at their iPhones when they could be cleaning. read more

The gym is fine for what you pay but the employees need to be more consistent with enforcing policies. Ive never been asked for eye wear to tan before and the one day i forget them they demand to see them or they can have them charge my card to buy theirs 'but you dont have to use them'....WHAT? The gym on Northwest Blvd in Spokane is absolutely run down and just disgusting. The women's locker room smell like dirty socks. The equipment is dirty, the vinyl is cracked and dirty on a lot of machines. I'm a black card member and the lights in the tanning beds and stand up machines are out and have been for a while.The tanning beds are always dirty ! You better clean them yourself before you dare to get in one. I'm hoping corporate will get involved and make them clean it up. This gym is just nasty! read more

Great staff but shady billing. pay through a bank account but also have a credit card on file. There was some problem with the billing so my credit card was charged Feb 4th. On the 8th when my girlfriend went in (she is on my account) they said that she was being sent to collections and wasn't allowed to work out. I don't understand why she was threatened with collections and not allowed to work out of they got their money. The staff was not able to answer my questions or get this straightened out without working with the manager. After talking to my bank and finding out there was no problem on their end I come back to planet fitness and find that everything was resolved without any explanation of what the problem was. I don't take being threatened with being sent to collections lightly. Especially for a company that has both credit and bank account information. read more

Love everything about this place but the "training" they have. I hate writing reviews about places but I had such a negative experience with the trainer they have here. She's uninviting, and comes off judgmental. It was so bad I left the class early. It was painfully awkward , and I am completely unsure why she is a trainer. We have been coming since they opened. I have tried many gyms in Spokane and none had more clearer terms, affordable prices and friendlier staff. The facilities are always very clean other than the total body machine as the foot pad is always gross. That is my only gripe. I love that they have so many machines to choose from. I haven't tried the 30 min workout but I want to. I have the Black Card membership and we really love the massages. I suffer from chronic pain and it's been a life changer. I don't know why there is so much hate for PF. read more

Was literally told by Manager Brooke that it was a customer's fault for being overcharged by Planet Fitness for two months and that she could be "a lot ruder" but she was trying to help by giving 2/3 of the money back in the form of not charging for a couple months. She then hung up on the customer. Terrible customer service and not an ounce of accountability for overcharging on monthly fees. DO NOT SIGN UP even if it is cheap. Their "no commitment" plans are a lie & a fraud. $58 cancellation fee AND they charge you for the last month even when you cancel with a weeks' notice. They give you the contract on a signature pad so small that it is IMPOSSIBLE to know what you're signing. They do not print out the full sized contract until AFTER you've signed it. When asked about their contracts they LAUGH and say no one reads them anyway!! If it was worth the time they'd be in small claims court TOMORROW! The gym has little to no ventilation in the locker room/bathroom so if one of the hundreds of people that use the gym have "stomach issues," that bathroom reeks for hours after. It's gross when you go to wash your hands or change. I really like this Planet Fitness, the employees are nice and the place is pretty clean but the locker room reeks every other day. The showers don't help either, they raise the humidity and it makes the stench thick. Not a hater, just grossed out. read more

THEE WORST gym you could be a member of. The lockers were ALWAYS DIRTY, staff members rude and unprofessional at their jobs, as well as SHADY BILLING. I haven't stepped foot into a Planet Fitness since May/June of 2019 WHEN I THOUGHT I CANCELLED and moved to AZ. For some strange reason I've been getting charged EVERY MONTH SINCE THEN. OVER $300 worth of charges, and not one single email mentioning my cancelation. Not even a reminder stating I was still a member. I was told "the fee will show up on your next bill" and that was it. NOW I'm having the most difficult time getting a hold of a manager and getting my money back from the past years worth of membership fees. How fucking ridiculous of a place and management. I was told "we don't go off of your activity, we just bill the account every month" ISN'T THERE SOMETHING FISHY IF I HAVEN'T CHECKED INTO YOUR GYM FOR OVER A YEAR??*crickets* My god. Okay. Let's talk about Planet Fitness. The theme: "Ricky slamming his weights, wearing a body building tank top and drinking out of a gallon water jug... what a lunk." First off Ricky may be perspiring a lot due to the massive amounts of caffeine he ingested 20 minutes ago, and he's just kicking ass in the gym. Can't judge Ricky for wanting to stay cool. Second, Ricky has it right. Drinking a gallon of water a day due to high level training, massive amounts of caffeine and protein intake. You can't judge Ricky for wanting to stay hydrated. Third, Ricky slamming his weights. Well, Ricky is either lifting way more than he possibly should and/or he's just a real dick. So don't be a dick Ricky. It's not cool. Look, I respect PF's marketing here. Any way to get someone in a gym to improve their overall health or physical appearance for themselves is fantastic. But charging a guest member $20.00 for a guest pass for weights that go up to 70lbs (dumbbells) is ludicrous. I didn't even get a towel for that. Hard to justify paying $20.00 a day for half the amenities. Especially when other PF's charge $10.00. But hey, that's my opinion. The positive: Very clean facility. Weights looked and felt new. No funky smells, even in the men's locker room. You can seriously singe your sensory for a few days at some places. So good job on that. Hand sanitizers dispensers actually had hand sanitizer in them (it really is the small things that count). Trust me. So to conclude: If you are from out of town and you feel like dropping $20.00 for some hand sanitizer, clean scents, and light clean weights. Than this is the place for you. The gym itself is fine but the parking lot is a big deterrent. The spaces are constantly covered in glass from car breaks in and my window has been shattered with items stolen from my car while I was inside for 30 minutes. PF in the valley allows individuals to jog the inside perimeter of the club and also do sprints up and down the center lane of the club, it has got to a point that in the morning while this exercise class is in session you have to stop and look both ways like your crossing a road I have never heard of a club that would allow joggers and people working out to intermingle in the same space, for obvious reason, this is not cross fit, it is Planet Fitness, it is not suppose to be a hard core workout facility. I myself have been sideswiped by a sprinter as I was walking between two machines and onto the center lane. I complained to the manager and while he did agree that PF was not normally a jogging facility it was his decision to allow it, and said that people working out need to also be aware of their surroundings. I thought this was just stupid, (do people working out usually have to worry about a jogger running into them) I don't know how long he has been the manager but I said this is a accident waiting to happen and that I was going to file a complaint with the corp HQ, which I did and also waiting to hear back from the franchise owners. I told him I did not feel this was in keeping with the safe free zone and no intimidation. I have spoken to several seniors and they have all expressed the same concerns. When I mentioned this to the manager he was concerned about losing members if he makes people stop running, I thought thats what the treadmills were for and there is plenty of room outside. I guess it will be better to lose them to injury. the managers name is Donua, in case any active members want to express their concern. I have also checked with other PF and they have stated that they absolutely do not allow running in the club. read more

I have had nothing but a good experience here at this gym. The staff have always treated me with respect and kindness. If anyone has had a complaint about the staff being rude maybe it's because they came in to early in the morning or to late in the day and are grumpy. The gym has increased its cleaning stations and requires everyone to wear a mask while entering or leaving. As long as you stay 6 feet away from each other I'm fine with people taking masks off to get a good workout. It's what they do in restaurants. Why not the gym when people need more oxygen. Masks are hard to breath in as is. The equipment is nice and cleaned cleaned regularly. Doesn't have the heaviest weights I would want but it will do for me to continue a healthy lifestyle. read more

if your idea of a good locker room experience includes having multiple people take half naked pictures of you and post on their Instagram then this is the perfect place for you.The position their large mirror right where they can get pictures of your coming out of the bathroom area and out of the shower area. This gym offers 24 hour staffed service which is very important to me because I work variable shifts. I pay for the $20/mo membership which gives me access to tanning, red light and massages. You really can't beat the price of PF. They have classes almost all day every day but I prefer to work at my own pace. Even in the morning it is never so packed that I'm not able to get a good machine. Hardcore fitness people tend not to like PF but their reasoning is usually because they don't have heavy enough equipment, which is stupid because they most definitely have very VERY heavy weights that I'm sure these people couldn't lift XD it gets a 5/5 for me. The staff is always great, never pushy, and the place is super clean. read more

(This is in regards to the Spokane NW BLVD Gym). Charges continue after reopening from the Pandemic. Called to cancel, was given the options of freezing for 3 months, or quitting by email or in person. The email address given would not go thru. Tried from my two different email addresses. The email on their website wouldn't go thru either. Then came the annual fee. I tried to call but only got a machine for two days. No calls back from my messages. Went in person to cancel. They don't give refunds, they claim no one told me to email too. I didn't mind the first charge, felt like if I could help them out a bit during Corona Virus, great, but now I feel like they are purposely scamming for every dollar they can get. Sad. Been a member since 2017. Not anymore. Ever. read more

I have been a member of Planet Fitness for about 8 months and am very impressed with the club. There are alot of machines which is nice during peak times. The workout areas, locker room (women's anyway) are clean as are the machines. The machines seem well maintained and if one breaks, it is usually fixed within a week or so. I feel comfortable with my beginner workouts and not intimidated. The staff is friendly and has been very helpful when I have had questions. read more

Very inconsistent with their rules. We called and asked if someone under 18 needed a parent or guardian signature in order to be there. And they told us no. But then when we actually went in there they said we needed a guardian to sign. It was just a waste of my time. if I would have known, I would have brought who I needed to. They also let me bring in a minor without a parent signature before and she was able to be my guest. It just frustrating when rules are not consistent. Thinking of finding a new gym. read more

The gym is fine for a quick and easy work out but it lacks free weights such as bench press or any bar workout like deadlift or squat (they only have assisted bar machines). Lots of time the people there using the equipment will just sit at machines and take calls while others wait for the machine. The staff is nice and the gym is clean. The whole yellow and purple paint and vibe of the gym comes off less "classy" or "professional". If you're looking for a good long term gym, I'd try somewhere else. The 10$ membership fee is a nice bonus tho. read more

With my time going to planet fitness I've had some up and down experiences. Last year during the free program for the summer for teens it was amazing, great customer service, amazing personal trainers, and support in a true judgement free zone, even the bullshit lunk alarm was shut off I bet because no one cares about how loud you were because we all were just going there to become our better selfs, but now let's go to the present. I went to enroll for a membership for a month just to try it out again because the ymca wasn't open due to Covid, when I walked in I was greeted by an ignorant and rude guy and didn't even have his mask on, after a week or two I enrolled I went to go cancel because I was tired of the staff members bullshit, they didn't do anything that they were supposed to. Wipe down equipment once the day is done and enforce people to sanitize equipment after someone is done using it even if there wasn't a pandemic, it's gross touching other peoples sweat. They took shortcuts with everything and were lazy as hell. I went to cancel and once I did a few days later I got charged for the annual fee that I made sure to cancel before this happened so I couldn't be out of 50$ and it charged me anyways so I went there and asked about it and they said it was irreversible! This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced and the worst people they could've ever found to hire for planet fitness. I'm stuck with the membership now paying 10$ a month until I think I've used every penny of my time into the gym to cancel my account for another 58$! I highly don't recommend going here unless they start to clean up their act and responsibilities. In response to the business owners lies as he just posted saying that they were always clean and provide 5 star customer service, you obviously don't, but that is only considering you have 2.5 stars so the proof is in the pudding. I'd heard good things about PF from acquaintances and from my son-in-law. I appreciate their intent to keep a gym "judgement free" and accessible. I joined shortly before Covid shut everything down so I consider myself lucky I was able to cancel my membership. Consistently dirty and smelly and not all equipment was in working order. When I had a free PT session/assessment, the trainer simply showed me how to use the equipment...which was to me rather insulting and told me nothing about what programs they had to offer related to my PT goals and level of experience. Their judgment free attitude the club promotes is rather a joke, and is insulting to anyone actually trying to work up a sweat. No grunting? No tank tops? This translates to me that: 1. I am not allowed to exert myself, and 2. I can't wear clothes that keep me cool and don't restrict my range of motion. I felt more uncomfortable and judged in the PF than I ever have at my current gym. Relatively skimpy on equipment and classes as well. But hey, they provide tanning beds (skin cancer sucks), and have water massage beds (a definite plus!). Lockers have locks built in so I never had to bring a padlock, and the dues are cheap. You get what you pay for I suppose. If you are looking for a simple, bare bones, no frills, beginner gym, then this may be the way to go. Sorry PF...I really wanted to love you. One final thought...I had a month to month membership and the only reason I was not charged a cancellation fee when I decided to leave was because due to Covid, gyms had to close at the time.
