This was a nice place and my family and I had a really good meal. The ambiance overall was nice, all wood all around with sportsman themes and I love the old telephone hanging on the wall. It was a bit humid inside as it was a 98 degree day... The waitstaff was polite and very friendly, we had called and made the reservation for my wife and i's 25th anniversary, of which they did not mention after asking on the phone if it was a special occasion... They seated us in the center of the dining room while there was a window seat overlooking the river still open. (Also noticing the top windows in the dining room were quite grimy and would let in a lot more light if cleaned.) The orders went in fine, food came out in due time and the waiter upon pouring the wine said he would maintain the wine glasses, but did not... he did come with one round of water refills when I set my glass towards the edge of the table. We got Duck Fat Fries for the table, Black pepper Aioli ~ shaved parm and tasty pieces of smoked bacon. They were very tasty and we cleaned the plate except three completely black fries on the plate which were unedible from the bottom of the fry basket which some how made it on the plate. The waiter also mentioned that he would clear the bread and app plates "to give us some more room" and did not... Then commenting on the empty duck fry plate "that we must have enjoyed it" as "it was empty" but then not taking it... We stacked all the plates in the center of the table and they were not taken until he came to box the leftovers... My wife had the Tenderloin Tips... she ordered them medium rare but they were well done and no pink at all... she reported that they were tender even tho over done and that the Fettuccini was cooked nicely although there was an overbearing amount of sauce and the wild rice was toothy... I had the Blackened Redfish ~ a Creole favorite, I get it when ever I can (and had it two weeks ago in central Florida)... the fish was treated nicely, the sauce was smooth with a light kick over a bed of wild rice that I thought was cooked well... The shrimps were a nice touch and a nice size as well... My mother got the redfish as well and did enjoy it too. My Father ordered the Walnut encrusted Walleye which he stated the coating was a bit thick, but said it was tasty and he did enjoy it. We all enjoyed our fish while of all three fish dishes, all three separate plates had bones we found. The seasonal veg on every plate was the same, one small carrot split in half which was quite tasty and well cooked, three small sprigs of asparagus which was perfectly cooked, one slice of red pepper (which my wife commented was odd), one mushroom split in half that I believe was cooked in a cognac (which my mother said was "very spicy") and a 1/4 of a small red onion which was cooked nicely while still having a good tooth. The meal it's self was very tasty and we enjoyed ourselves but There were a few simple things that could have been done to make the experience better. over all a nice enjoyable meal.... 3.8 stars

    The TOMAHAWK!!!

First time dining experience. Saw the restaurant sign on the main road many times but never made the turn. Finally, tonight, our first experience. I had no idea what to expect since I didn't review the menu ahead of time. So it turns out they serve TOMAHAWK ribeyes on special occasions and they had a few left from Valentine's!!! Golly!!! The special menus said they have them in 2-5 pound sizes but the smallest they had left was a 3 pound! Well, I couldn't help myself!!! I ordered it MED with flame charring on the outside! It was served with baby golden potatoes and fresh vegetables. My wife had the Surf & Turf! Pictures to follow. Our waiter, Shane, described everything thoroughly without our prompting! We also had the Winter Sangria Moscoto drinks and then the wife added a Magic Margarita! We took home chocolate cheesecake and white chocolate bread pudding with rum sauce!!! We can't wait to go back!!! We have eaten at many high-end steak restaurants and this BY-FAR surpassed all expectations of a good dinner!!! I cannot recommend enough!!!

Beautiful view. Clean. Friendly. I had the rueben with fries. It was huge. And heavenly. The toasted rye, cheese pulls every bite, lean, well seasoned pastrami, creamy dressing, and sauerkraut. Yum! Also had a hot chocolate with a mound of whip cream. It was hot and perfect for a cold day. Next time I will try one of their Special Holiday Drinks (with alcohol)

Great service and really good food. For a white table cloth restaurant, the prices were reasonable as well. We will be back.

Ribeye and Potato Roll. Shrimp Jammers appetizer. Coconut cake for dessert. La Crema. Fine dining on the White River. You gotta eat at PJ's

When we came in we were told to just sit wherever and the waitress went and got our menus but then stopped by two chatty tables and just held them. We waited at least 10 minutes to even be able to look at a menu. We were saying, we wished she would just kindly tell them she'd be right back, hand us our menus and then go back and let them talk her ear off some more, instead of us just sitting there, without even being able to see what they had. When we finally did get our menus, we quickly saw that everything was super expensive. Two of us have a gluten allergy and the gluten free pizzas are $12 a piece for just cheese..... any added toppings are all $1 for each item..... if they were large enough to share, that would be fine but they're tiny. So, it would have already been $30 just for two small pizzas..... plus, having to order another meal for my husband. We were still going to just order the large nacho plate, hoping it would be big enough for us to share but the waitress took so long to get back to us, we decided to just leave. Let me say though, she was the only server there and had no help and she was nice and did not charge us for our one Dr. Pepper we ordered and water. I don't mean to say she wasn't doing the best she can because I do believe she was, it is not her fault that the management didn't schedule more staff. I've heard good things about this place. Maybe we will come back and try the nachos one day.

But he absolutely loves the barbecue chicken! Not only does he eat, but he eats it all. That and of course the rolls Every time we go there that is the only thing he gets. He told us he was serving for 3 years and acted like he was a brand new server. Started with the fact he had no idea how much a glass of wine was!!! You worked here for 3 years and you have no idea what a glass of wine cost???? He told us it was "like $6.25 a glass". I said, there are 6 wines, you mean they are all $6.25? He didnt know... i said while you go back please find out what a bottle of wine is, specifically the Robert Mondavi.... He came back and said the Mondavi was $8.75( not close to the $6.25 he said) asked what the bottle was... he had to go back and ask again, He came back and said "somewhere between $20 and $30. I said that is a big difference, can you tell me the exact price for the Mondavi wine. Finally came back and said $30. (This guy says he has been here 3 years!?!?) WTF!?!? We got our salad and wine eventually. Ate the salad and started the second glass of wine when i had to flag him down and ask if we were supposed to get some bread, oh yeah he says. During all this time he never came to ask us how we were doing or if we needed anything. Asked him about the special they advertised in a BIG sign out side but nothing on the menus told you about the shrimp trio special, he told us about it. Mom ordered the shrimp trio and i ordered the NY steak medium. Mom and i sat and drank our wine and talked. Food came and my steak was well done. (Knew it was not going to be good sending it back). Sent it back anyway, why pay $30 for something that is not right? He left me with my green beans and potato which i ended up eating because i was starving and it took 12 mins to get my steak. By the time the steak came i was no longer hungry so i got a box to take my steak home. (Had two bites and it was tough and stringy). We just paid a lot of money for stuff i didnt even get to eat in the restaurant! Soooo disappointing!! Had to once again call Julian over to ask for boxes and a bill. Not once did Julian come over by himself once we gave him our order. No the restaurant was not full or overly busy, LOTS of empty tables. No desire to ever return here. So disappointing. Looked forward to a wonderful meal with my mom and it was nothing but aggravating!
