Callaways Coffee and Bistro popped up as a little house with adorable photos and lovely reviews and off we went. It was perfect. They have REAL FOOD here. I tried to reproduce the menu, but seriously they have pages of breakfast, salads and sandwiches. And COFFEE, of course. I had this amazing 100% Angus patty Cheeseburger - an enormous perfectly cooked patty. ($9.95) My husband ordered the Ragun Cajun, a spicy Chicken breast on ciabatta that he loved. ($9.95) They still had pie, blondies, cookies and assorted yummy sweet treats under glass. I had the Buttermilk pie with a Tender crust and totally delicious filling! ($2.75) Our server was a terrific young man; personable, helpful and a good cook! We had a good time. The bathroom is Unisex and clean. There is plenty of seating. The menu is quite extensive, maybe a little too much but it seems they do a good job. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. This place was very accomodating to the kids- they brought out paper and crayons for the kids and even added some fruit to their kids plates and brought an extra since they were splitting. Their fries are homemade and hand cut- they might need to be fried a little longer because some were soft or perhaps cut smaller but they were good. They make their sauces, dressings, soups, etc from scratch. My mom said even the salad croutons seemed to be homemade. I tried the tomato soup but next time i want to try the french onion. There's really a lot of things i want to try! I got the appetizer crab cakes- they needed a little something, some more flavor, salt, seasoning or something in my foodie opinion but they were good overall.
