So amazing literally the best mex-Tex I've ever had plus the service was amazing. I would definitely come here again

Came here for lunch and was pleased with my chicken fajitas. The guacamole was super fresh, and the potatoe wedges meet my standard of good quality and flavor which is hard to acquire. The chicken was pretty good, and I got full on their delicious salsa and lunch fajitas for $8.25. Their menu offers choices unique to this area which is a must when you have 20 other mexican options just down the road. I believe i saw and tasted fresh garlic on the plate too, which was another unique and refreshing spin on their mexican dishes and shows they're willing to step up the quality and originality to make it in this area. I'll update my review when I come for dinner, because I did notice that the lunch portion seemed a tad bit small, but their salsa alone is enough to make you want to return. read more

Let's start with the main reason you pull in the parking lot... Your hungry and want to eat. Food- chips and salsa are spot on. Chips, not to thin not to thick not burnt or over salted. Salsa good texture not blended up like baby food but not just pico. We had enchiladas beef cheese and chicken. Beef had odd seasoning. Cheese and raw onion was good to me but another person at my table doesn't like onion and was not happy about the secret onion added in. Chicken was ok was a little on the bland side. The rice was good I've had better and I've had worse. The beans left a lot to be desired. Ok on to the service- it was very apparent that our waiter who was also the hostess was very new to the job. However, I'm not sure who was sitting in the adjacent room on their phone the entire time we were there (minus running the register), but it was clear to see he did not care at all to help the young waiter but was content on watching him drown. Service makes or breaks a restaurant, especially Mexican food around the lake because the people have 15+ choices to go to if they want Mexican food. There were five guest and two Togo orders while we were there. No reason for bad service. Price was a little on the high side for the quality. Almost $8 (plus tax) for a 2 enchilada plate. $2.20 for soda/tea. read more

Really good food and service. I live 4 hours away and will come back again when I'm in the area. Worth the trip.

The food was okay but this is not the type of place that can prob ever get a real top rating. True top ratings come from places whose wait staff is well trained in being able to do more than just take an order and get food in the table in a timely manner. Fir example, I asked a person who was serving us chips (hostess) if they served huevos rancheros. She said she didn't know but would go ask. Never saw her again. Our waitress came quite a bit later and I was too afraid, and frankly hungry to wait for her to get the answer to that question, so ordered something else. I asked for lemons and more salsa both for the second time. Never got the lemons, finally got the salsa. My fajitas came without tortillas and so I had to wait for her to serve several people their meals before my tortillas were rescued from another table to be brought to me. Those nice people at that table reassured me they hadn't touched them, but ugh... My husband had beef chile relleno with yellow queso which my eyes found to be a bit too artificially colored. Hubby liked it but then, he eats ding dongs and such, which has no real anything in there except artificial sugar, lol. Would I come back... prob no. Too many good other Mexican places to settle for such afterthought type of service. read more

Very good service!! we ordered to-go and I got the nachos and they were amazing!! Very quick service and it Just felt like good home made food! They gave me a refill on my Dr Pepper and a side of rice as well! I was very pleased with how willing they were to make the experience great! YIKES!!!! This place SMELLS terrible! The walls look like there have been water leaks and I think that's where the smell comes from. Not.Appetizing.At.All. Food wasn't good either, but I could hardly get past the sights & smells of the place, it was really gross & felt really dirty & we got out of there as soon as we could. We're in Texas, y'all, you can get AMAZING Mexican food at the gas station, this place can't compete. read more

We were on our way to a ceremony where we needed light vegan food. They made excellent efforts on our behalf. Vegetarian enchiladas with no cheese and vegetarian fajitas. All four of us were happy. Would recommend this place. read more

Staff is always friendly and helpful. I go here quite often with a group of church members and they never dissapoint. The food is more tex-mex style but so good. Nothing in the menu I have had has disappointed me yet. The salsa is great too. Oh and the price is very fair. So stop at mas queso when you're in town! And don't listen to Jackie or Madison. They are idiots. Don't be like them lol. read more

Great family restaurant, but could use a little professional foodservice training. That said, I would eat here any day of the week. Finding a veggie meal in Texas that isn't just a plate of sides is like searching for hen's teeth. Most restaurants just can't believe that you don't want the meat; "did the Dr put you on a restricted diet dear?" This was the first time any Mexican restaurant ever prepared a non-meat entree from scratch, it was spinach enchiladas with mushrooms, zucchini, and carrots. All grilled to perfection and topped with a rich red sauce, and yellow rice with refried beans. Now, to the most common negative in other reviews, service. Diners often cannot distinguish between server and servant. Most expect to be catered to regardless of their own behavior, often overshadowing the actual meal. At many family restaurants, the belief is that Mama's cooking is enough. Sadly, that is not always so. Often, no one has worked in a well-managed commercial restaurant, so they fail to learn the basic. My experience was that service was prompt, courteous and attentive. If you care more about which side of the plate your flatware belongs, eat somewhere else. But, if you want delicious Tex-Mex, you will leave fat and happy! read more

I came in here to try out some new restaurants in the area that I haven't tried yet. There was a nice parking lot out front, I think the restrooms had multiple stalls and were clean and well-maintained. I also found some vegetarian-friendly items on the menu. I had the vegetarian enchiladas and a slice of cheesecake topped with strawberry syrup. The complementary chips & salsa were also good. It was a great place to read while eating, or I could watch TV (which wasn't too loud). I'd love to come back to this place to eat again! read more

On a road trip we decided to stop here. Our waitress provided great service. Ordered the tilapia and it came with side salad, rice, and veggies, it was really really good. Chips and spicy hot sauce was good and so was the guacamole. If we are ever in this town again we will be back. read more

MY GO TO PLACE for Cheese enchiladas with Queso, Queso, Queso, NO MEAT OR RED SAUCE!. Love this place. The chips and salsa are great. And the staff is very good. Some seem to be a bit new to the Restaurant type job, but are GREAT, because they check on you to see if you need anything. I even requested Them to please sing "Happy Birthday" and I used the flan as my "cake". Really had fun on my birthday, with my favorite food too!!! read more

This was the worst service and food ever! I asked to speak to a manager the lady told me that he was to busy to speak to me! Completely got one order wrong 3 different times. My chicken fajitas were really cold. The service was horrible, I had to ask for the check 3 different times. The restaurant wasn't even busy or packed. Fabulous food and service! They are able to work around my severe food allergy without a problem (which is VERY hard to handle). Many times the owner himself takes care of my order. Very disappointing. The restaurant smells of old cigarette smoke and was not very clean. The beans were undercooked and over salted. The cheese enchilada was flavorless. The only saving grace was the brisket taco which had delicious meat. I had to ask for more water as the service was not attentive at all. I will not be returning - even the brisket wasn't good enough to justify a return trip. read more
