I honestly debated just giving them 4 stars in this area, just because the bathrooms weren't made to accommodate a larger crowd. But the bathrooms were adequate enough for the crowd tonight, & the people were very nice & generous to me, & I want to return the favor. They do have food on the menu there, but they stop serving the food after a certain time of night (9:00 or 10:00pm? It might vary depending on the day of the week...). I may have "just missed the cutoff" for food by a few minutes (but my visit was nearly a year ago, so again, I may have forgotten some details), so the only thing for me to eat was a small bag of Cheetos (they also have other selections of chips available, so there's always a little something to eat). A gentleman sitting next to me was nice enough to buy me a glass of a margarita (& later, a refill). (I would like to give a "thank-you" shoutout to Mike!) The bartender Amanda was also very friendly & helpful, so I made sure to leave her a cash tip in her tip jar. (I also don't remember whether or not they take credit cards, or if it's cash-only--this was based on my memory of visiting last year, so things may have changed since then.) Sorry I haven't been back since early spring or summer 2019, for a chance to try their food. The times I've driven by, I have always seen at least a few cars to know they are still in business. Maybe they have more visitors at certain times of the year (summer, holidays, etc)? Also not sure how they've been doing since the opening of Vernon's Lakeside, down the street. But the people were friendly, & some of them seemed to know each other (like a small-town-in-Texas-version of "Cheers"). And I was relieved that the air didn't smell too heavily-ridden with cigarette & cigar smoke (like my experience at D&D Main Street Bar, also down the street but in the other direction). I really hope this business makes it, whether or not I'm able to make it back! And I hope they can "hold their own" & set themselves apart from competition from other local bars. Had an awesome experience at Chili's last night, and a huge shoutout to our server, Joey! From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcome with her friendly attitude and great energy. Even though the restaurant was pretty busy, she never missed a beat--our drinks stayed full, and she checked in on us just the right amount without being overbearing. We went with a classic Chili's order--one of us got the Baby Back Ribs, and the other got the Chicken Fajitas. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor, just like you'd hope, and the fajitas came out sizzling and smelled amazing. Joey made sure we had everything we needed, from extra napkins for the ribs to fresh tortillas and toppings for the fajitas. She even recommended a dipping sauce we wouldn't have thought to try, and it was a game-changer! What really stood out was how personable she was--she took the time to chat with us, crack a few jokes, and make sure we were having a great time. You don't always get that level of service, and it made the experience so much better. If you're heading to this Chili's, do yourself a favor and ask for Joey! We'll definitely be back. read more

He was a strong, compliant employee. (My statement) Never in the time that I've worked at chilis, more than a year, has a busser carried a broom and a buss tub. No one has done that since I've worked there. The exact way this employee has done bussing is how I've been doing it and not once has the GENERAL MANAGER reprimanded me like she did him. Even still, he didn't deserve to be fired because he didn't say ok and walked away to do the work you wanted him to. He stayed and listened to what you said. She tapped him on the shoulder and told him to clock out. Nor that he deserved to be fired for trying to finish his cut work and not screw over his fellow employees. I've heard nothing but good things about this employee since he's started working. How's he's a hard worker and tries his best. Mind you he's new. Working for maybe a month. You told him to clock out. Typically I would also assume I need to do my cut work too before I leave. Due to this unfortunately I will not be returning to Athens chilis in the future. Which is unfortunate because the other employees there are so amazing.
