We came over to The Dock for our late Friendsgivingmas, and had the best time! We made reservations ahead of time, as the place can get crowded on a weekend night. We got to sit out on the covered patio, which was great, bc the warmers were on, it was super cold and windy out this particular night! We were greeted by Josh, who took such great care of us this evening! We were having such a great time, as we hadn't seen each other in a while, so it was another good reason to be on the covered patio, so we could be a little louder than normal, and not disturb other guests. There was a live musician that was playing that night, which made for the perfect mood with all of us. We all ordered what seemed like the whole menu, which I loved because we all shared everything which means we got to try it all!! The oysters were super yummy and the shrimp dish app was one of my faves too. Perfectly crispy and tossed with a delicious sauce. The dessert....ooooo I wish I had ordered this first. The brownie sundae was outstanding. Perfectly warms and delicious and topped with vanilla ice cream and some hot chocolate sauce. We devoured that thing in 2.5 seconds!! I can say that there was not one dish I didn't liked I can see why it gets busy here. The staff were great with helping Josh throughout the evening with all the plates we ordered and with cleaning the plates up as we finished. The manager checked in on us a few times which was great as well! Can't wait to come back!

This is an updated review.. still 5 stars I can not say enough about this place and always make it a stopping point when I'm in town. We are here twice this week. I brought two chefs after doing an event and they both raved about the food and service I am blown away that this type of food and service is found in this area.

We have been here several times and they never disappoint. Great food! Wonderful food and excellent hospitality. Our server was very nice. Yesterday We went for valentines dinner. I had the Wellington bites, a mozzarella salad, champagne chicken for dinner and a chocolate mousse for dessert. If you're looking for something out of the city this is a great place to have dinner. Here are a few pics.

Came on for a couple drinks and a crab cake. Morgan takes a lot of pride in his drinks. Every bartender I know hates making lemon drops and he made me two delicious ones! Sad we live so far away but this place is a cozy little spot. Hidden away but a gem! Thanks Morgan!

Food was awesome! I got prime rib and others got filet mignon and redfish. All were amazing! Our server was Daly (dal-ee) and we will always ask for her when we go back. She was the absolute best! We were origiannlybtomdine inside but they have a screened in "outside area" and the weather was awesome so they accommodated us out there. There are screens that raise up and a few of them were raised. The only thing that brought about was a fly or two during the entire time we were there. But live music was out there during the latter part of our dinner and that was awesome too. Once the music starts it can get a little loud so next time we might come a little earlier so we can enjoy the quiet a little bit longer but the music was a guitar player and he was great! Great experience and the entire staff was professional and great!

Cheesy grits! They tasted like hatch chili cheesy grits and were delicious.

My husband and I went to the Dock last night for a date night. We live in Plano, Texas but spend a good amount of time at Cedar Creek Lake with family. Here is our review of the place: Location: location is right off the main road before you go across the bridge from Caney Creek to Malakoff. It's easy to get to. Parking was easy. Inside the location: First thing we noticed was that it was loud. You can tell they are making efforts in helping with the sound, as there are sound panels of different sorts on the walls and ceilings. Perhaps it's the concrete floors making the noise bounce more. Either way, it was definitely a loud restaurant and wasn't filled to capacity. If you're looking for a quiet place to eat, we recommend eating outside on the porch. The food: we ordered two side salads. The spinach and veggies you could tell were fresh. We then shared the salmon entree, lobster Mac and cheese and cheesy grits. We also got the crème brûlée for dessert. Everything we got was delicious. Not one complaint. Price: For an East Texas, specifically malakoff location, it was pricey. The special, which was a surf and turf was $95. Lobster Mac was considered a side and was priced at $18. With the minimal amount of lobster in the dish, it felt overpriced. A steak was $50ish and our 14 oz salmon was $20. Pricing just seems a little off. Other observations: one of the things we were looking forward to according to the menu was the "variety of oysters" they had available on the half shell. When we asked what the oyster options were, we were told "gulf oysters from Texas". As oyster fans, we were disappointed. That wasn't a variety and gulf oysters are the cheapest, easiest to get. So selling them for $18 a half dozen seemed outrageous. Especially when you pay that much for blue points or west/east coast oysters in Dallas. The staff was busy! You could tell they at a good amount of people. But we did find it interesting that it took a good bit to meet our waitress and get some drinks going. That aside, our waitress did a good job and the food was good. Just pricing may be just a little off.

For the 2nd time we ate at "The Dock Restaurant". Food was amazing, the restaurant has that Louisiana Vibe style of food. If you don't like that then it's not For you. All & all the food is amazingly delicious! Staff & service is very good. Isai & Shawn served us today, so professional and friendly. We tried the following: Starters: Gumbo Lobster nachos Ceviche shrimp Pork Belly Main Course: Ribeye steak with mash Sword fish with risotto Chicken fried steak Wagyu mashed burger Dessert: Chocolate shake Double chocolate cake with berries Hot cooked delicious food! Everything was on point, server did mention Tuesday 7.9.24 the menu will change. You guys rock "The Dock Restaurant!" Thank you for the excellent food and service y'all Provided for us! We'll be back to Texas to enjoy your awesome food!

Arrived 6:15 pm last night (4/11) our party was told it would be a 30 min wait even though I witnessed 10 plus empty tables. We waited over an hour to be seated. We finally were seated around 7:20 pm. At 7:45 pm not one person acknowledged us nor took a drink order. We walked out at 7:45pm. 90 minutes and zero service. I do not recommend.

I came in with two other people, we were seated promptly, the server explained the specials, the bartender said she made amazing drinks. She said we had Blanton for $13, my two friends ordered and old fashioned with Blanton, the glass was pretty much empty. I ordered a Manhattan with Woodford, also pretty much empty and they served in a rocks glass, should have been up. I then switched and ordered a double Woodford on the rocks- they charged me 46 dollars for a 2 oz pour of Woodford. The bottle is 40. I am in hospitality. I was mortified you charged more for Woodford than Blantons. I ordered the prime rib special/ it's a steakhouse- or so I thought. I asked for MR, said as rare as they can. I got a well done piece which I sent back, they brought out another piece which looked funny, it looked fake. Not sure how to describe it. I cut into it and took one bite. It was the most vile thing I have ever eaten, it tasted like plastic and chemicals. Told the server that I would stil pay for it but I don't want anything . The owner came over I explained, she then said it comes pre-cooked. The rep from Ben E Keith recommended this. They don't have a chef . I felt awful for them. Change your vendor to one that won't sell you subpar products. The burger my friend ordered was also sent out over cooked, and the by strip was disappointing and also sent back. We all ended up getting burgers made by the other owner, they were actually good. Here's my recommendation- turn into a burger joint, and learn how to price drinks. $150 for 5 drinks, thankfully they took the food off cause of the issues. The server said thank you for not yelling at me and understanding it's the kitchen. Your service was great, please find another place with good food so you don't get yelled at. I'm sorry this happens to you but it's not going to get better unless they make changes.

Our app came quickly but the drinks and food came so slowly. Also between us asking for waters while we look at the cocktail menu was a lot of elapsed time. Food: the steak frites were very salty (and I love salt) but definitely the best meal ordered. The "Mac attack" tasted cheeseless -- literally tasted like water. The chicken Alfredo was "mid" but also a super tiny portion. Both pastas looked like kids meals. I guess they were priced appropriately at least. Not pictured was the Donny burger -- described as "eh it was fine". All left more to be desired. We really wanted to try the cinnamon cake but decided against since service was sooooo slow. The peach tea was bad. The oasis marg was okay. When we asked for wine, we were told "I don't know what we have let me show you" and were shown the screen that listed: white, red, rose, and sparkling. The wine should be listed on the menu with the beer and the cocktails. I'd maybe come again to sit at the bar and have a drink or two if there's live music, but otherwise, this is skippable for a full meal service.

But I was thrilled to know that they reopened it for multi-purpose events. I first came during the soft opening during the Fiddlers' Reunion weekend & saw a live concert happening. I also came for the "Art On The Bricks" event. It's neat that they can move the stage, since for the soft opening the stage was on the right brick wall (with the audience portable fold-out chairs situated so that the left & right were further apart than the front & back), & for "Art On The Bricks" the stage was on the back wall (with the windows & view of the town square parking lot behind it). For the art show, there was more space to look at tables of displayed artwork, munch on finger foods (catered by Railway Cafe, next door), sip on drinks (wine, water, or tea), & you could mingle around or sit down (upstairs in the balcony or at some standing-friendly downstairs tables). The restrooms are also nice, & very well-maintained, with plenty of multiple stalls. The upstairs balcony is really neat. It's a great place to sit & eat at small tables (or move them together for bigger groups), or you can sit at a bar-like table overlooking the balcony if you have a smaller group. Overlooking the balcony was an incredible view! I'm staying posted on future events held here, because I definitely want to keep coming back!

In my life I've been to bars all over the country and Walkers has a very special vibe. It's like a family. Everyone is friendly. Not clicky. They have great hamburgers, fun games, best drink prices. Full bar, draft options, even some non-alcoholic choices and the beer is ice cold. There's an ATM and they take cards, they have a good size patio out back that's not really visible. Karaoke nights, crawfish boils. Pretty sure they have live music at times and dance party DJ nights. The owner Tiffany is gorgeous, cool as she can be. Bartenders are great, I have always felt comfortable, welcomed and had a blast no matter if I went during the day or at night. You will be treated right at Walkers!

Walker's Landing was within walking distance, & most of the coffee shops & restaurants may have been closed by that time. Walker's Landing was at least open, but not too crowded. I think they also had either music playing or TV with a sporting event in the background (but neither was so loud that conversation was impossible, this was also as I remember things from last year, so I may have forgotten some details). There was also plenty of room for some dancing at this venue! I also needed to visit the restroom, which was a one-seater, but it was well-kept, & there wasn't a wait for it at the time. I honestly debated just giving them 4 stars in this area, just because the bathrooms weren't made to accommodate a larger crowd. But the bathrooms were adequate enough for the crowd tonight, & the people were very nice & generous to me, & I want to return the favor. They do have food on the menu there, but they stop serving the food after a certain time of night (9:00 or 10:00pm? It might vary depending on the day of the week...). I may have "just missed the cutoff" for food by a few minutes (but my visit was nearly a year ago, so again, I may have forgotten some details), so the only thing for me to eat was a small bag of Cheetos (they also have other selections of chips available, so there's always a little something to eat). A gentleman sitting next to me was nice enough to buy me a glass of a margarita (& later, a refill). (I would like to give a "thank-you" shoutout to Mike!) The bartender Amanda was also very friendly & helpful, so I made sure to leave her a cash tip in her tip jar. (I also don't remember whether or not they take credit cards, or if it's cash-only--this was based on my memory of visiting last year, so things may have changed since then.) Sorry I haven't been back since early spring or summer 2019, for a chance to try their food. The times I've driven by, I have always seen at least a few cars to know they are still in business. Maybe they have more visitors at certain times of the year (summer, holidays, etc)? Also not sure how they've been doing since the opening of Vernon's Lakeside, down the street. But the people were friendly, & some of them seemed to know each other (like a small-town-in-Texas-version of "Cheers"). And I was relieved that the air didn't smell too heavily-ridden with cigarette & cigar smoke (like my experience at D&D Main Street Bar, also down the street but in the other direction). I really hope this business makes it, whether or not I'm able to make it back! And I hope they can "hold their own" & set themselves apart from competition from other local bars. Kudos on allowing an allergy-ridden person to breathe without overwhelming them with the smell of cigarette smoke! (Setting Walker's Landing above D&D in my book!)
