    Espresso martini

We visited V's for our anniversary dinner a couple weeks ago and had a great experience. We weren't sure what to think about the "speakeasy" concept but it's actually a executed in a really cute way. My husband got a huge kick out of talking to the mob boss guy before we were seated. We ate early (5:45pm) so it wasn't super crowded when we got there, but it was bustling and busy by the time we left! It's a fairly small space but it's decorated nicely and the lighting was good - definitely an intimate vibe, and loud enough that you don't feel like everyone is listening to your conversation! The food - all of it was excellent. We tried the crab cakes, bruschetta, beef tournedos, boneless ribeye and pecan pie. The appetizers were delicious, although I will say the bruschetta is really not what we expected- it was more like a baked cheese dip with tomatoes almost. We liked it and ate it all, but if you're expecting a traditional bruschetta this is different. The crab cakes were great, I could have eaten 5 more. Entrees: my husband said the ribeye was the best he's ever had. I had a bite and it was great. The beef tournedos were great - I mainly wanted to try it for the red wine sauce and it was amazing. The parsnip mash just tasted like regular mashed potatoes, it was really good. Drinks/dessert: the smoked old fashioned and espresso martini were awesome. They smoke the old fashioned at your table, it was a cool presentation. Pecan pie was a little on the small side, so if you're full after dinner but still want something sweet it would be a good option. The service was fast and polite and overall this was such a fun dinner. We definitely want to come back sometime and try more dishes! Thanks V's for a great evening!

We were in town for the weekend and wanted to try a local steakhouse. This place was fantastic. The environment was fun, but classy at the some time. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was also great. If we are ever in Seven Points again, we will be back!

What a wonderful surprise this treasure is! Being CCL weekenders, We chose to celebrate our anniversary here this year. We usually try a new restaurant in Dallas every year. The speakeasy experience and the 20's decor are awesome! The management and waitstaff were great! They easily and quickly moved us to a larger table when 2 friends unexpectedly showed up to the restaurant. The drinks were exceptional. The escargot and lobster bisque (two of my favorite things that I always try wherever they are available!) were 2nd to none! We will definitely be returning!!

The wait was longer than we expected for our food considering it was maybe a 3rd full in the restaurant. For the appetizer we had the Chickels and Pips. That was good. For my entree, I had the Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo with a house salad. The salad was soggy and the croutons were stale. The entree was average at best the with bites of steak rubbery. I will give a 5 star for the sweet tea as it was outstanding. My wife had the Louisianna Sauteed Catfish. She said the catfish wasn't bad and the cole slaw was pretty good but the grilled vegetables were bad. They were overcooked and saturated with way too much grease. She likes to put lemons in her water but ended up drinking the water plain because the lemons were old. We were excited to bring our friend over to Vernon's but it turned out to be a bummer. You would think they would go out with a "bang" considering they're getting ready to shut down for good. P.S. Chelsea was our server and she was good.

I was so impressed with the menu, I decided to create a fish sandwich, with a couple of substitutions. On the menu it is called TABC on a Bun (Tomato Avocado Bacon top of grilled chicken on a bun). I substituted the grilled chicken for the Cajun grilled catfish! and Omitted the Bacon. The grilled Catfish sandwich was perfectly seasoned and balanced with the Avocado, cheese, tomato and toasted bun. It was definitely Heaven!! Thank you to Haley, the kitchen staff for making my delicious sandwich, and to the owner!! We will definitely be back!!

There were overhead heaters around the outside bar but somewhat strangely the door to the main building was kept open and there was no heat inside. Our waitress wore a puffer jacket both inside and outside. Brrrr. When the waitress came around to take our orders, since I had never been here before, I asked her what was the best thing they did, what was their standout menu item. She didn't have an answer and seemed confused. Then she walked across the room and pulled something off the wall and came back to our table. She said these are our specials and proceeded to run down them. Ok, weird since why wouldn't they always go through the specials, and this is also not what I asked. So I asked her again in a different way, what are they known for. She was still confused and then just ran through the regular menu items. Ok, so absolutely no useful guidance on the menu and their food. Anyways, I ordered the steak frites, medium. It came out with absolutely no sear and was rare. Additionally the cut was very fatty, with large chunks of fat on each piece of meat. Yuck. The lady had the 456 cheeseburger and said it was delish. Rating edit: Downgraded from 2 to 1 stars after a nasty case of food poisoning started the next day.

Rumor has it they are opening a new Billito's in a nearby town, about one hour away. Stay tuned :-) Bailee, now promoted to a manager position, was also our server tonight. Nice, friendly and quick to seat us in a comfortable booth; tables were also an option. Pictures scrolling on TV's throughout the restaurant. Bailee brought out fresh, hot, garlic buttered rolls along with an olive oil dipping sauce. Yummy. Son-in-law ordered a pepperoni pizza. That's his go to order. Said it's the best. Loved the perfectly cooked crust, spices, sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. Pasta Sampler is what my daughter and I ordered. Never would I have guessed how delicious this would be. Steaming hot, covered in marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese slices were a selection of Lasagna, manicotti, spinach ravioli, tortellini, and ziti. Usually I'm the one to take leftovers home - not tonight. I finished my plate! So good. We did take a slice of cheesecake home to eat later. You can see the pictures. Slices are small, however, both the original and strawberry flavors were good.
