    Espresso martini

We visited V's for our anniversary dinner a couple weeks ago and had a great experience. We weren't sure what to think about the "speakeasy" concept but it's actually a executed in a really cute way. My husband got a huge kick out of talking to the mob boss guy before we were seated. We ate early (5:45pm) so it wasn't super crowded when we got there, but it was bustling and busy by the time we left! It's a fairly small space but it's decorated nicely and the lighting was good - definitely an intimate vibe, and loud enough that you don't feel like everyone is listening to your conversation! The food - all of it was excellent. We tried the crab cakes, bruschetta, beef tournedos, boneless ribeye and pecan pie. The appetizers were delicious, although I will say the bruschetta is really not what we expected- it was more like a baked cheese dip with tomatoes almost. We liked it and ate it all, but if you're expecting a traditional bruschetta this is different. The crab cakes were great, I could have eaten 5 more. Entrees: my husband said the ribeye was the best he's ever had. I had a bite and it was great. The beef tournedos were great - I mainly wanted to try it for the red wine sauce and it was amazing. The parsnip mash just tasted like regular mashed potatoes, it was really good. Drinks/dessert: the smoked old fashioned and espresso martini were awesome. They smoke the old fashioned at your table, it was a cool presentation. Pecan pie was a little on the small side, so if you're full after dinner but still want something sweet it would be a good option. The service was fast and polite and overall this was such a fun dinner. We definitely want to come back sometime and try more dishes! Thanks V's for a great evening!

We were in town for the weekend and wanted to try a local steakhouse. This place was fantastic. The environment was fun, but classy at the some time. The food was absolutely amazing and the staff was also great. If we are ever in Seven Points again, we will be back!

What a wonderful surprise this treasure is! Being CCL weekenders, We chose to celebrate our anniversary here this year. We usually try a new restaurant in Dallas every year. The speakeasy experience and the 20's decor are awesome! The management and waitstaff were great! They easily and quickly moved us to a larger table when 2 friends unexpectedly showed up to the restaurant. The drinks were exceptional. The escargot and lobster bisque (two of my favorite things that I always try wherever they are available!) were 2nd to none! We will definitely be returning!!

She was attentive, kind, and always paying attention to whether we needed anything without hovering. We started with the appetizer sampler and chose the fried pickles, okra, and green beans. Everything came out hot, fresh, and lightly breaded, which I really appreciated. Nothing felt greasy or overly heavy. Also, the sweet tea was actually sweet and delicious, not that sad "dark water" tea you sometimes get other places. We split the chicken fried chicken sandwich and an order of 8 honey BBQ wings. Both came out at the same time, and honestly, we probably could have chosen just one because the portions were huge. For the price point, that was a big plus. Everything I saw on the menu looked reasonably priced and fair for today's economy, no price gouging. The chicken fried chicken was cooked perfectly. The breading was light, the outside was crispy, and the chicken was still juicy. The wings were fried naked and crispy before the sauce was added, which I loved. My only tiny nitpick would be that there was a little more sauce than I personally prefer. I would have liked the option to add more sauce if needed, since you can always add more but can't take it off once it's on. Overall, this was such a good experience. Great service, fresh food, big portions, fair prices, and a true local restaurant feel. I'm so glad we chose this place and will definitely be sending people this way!

We got to sit out on the covered patio, which was great, bc the warmers were on, it was super cold and windy out this particular night! We were greeted by Josh, who took such great care of us this evening! We were having such a great time, as we hadn't seen each other in a while, so it was another good reason to be on the covered patio, so we could be a little louder than normal, and not disturb other guests. There was a live musician that was playing that night, which made for the perfect mood with all of us. We all ordered what seemed like the whole menu, which I loved because we all shared everything which means we got to try it all!! The oysters were super yummy and the shrimp dish app was one of my faves too. Perfectly crispy and tossed with a delicious sauce. The dessert....ooooo I wish I had ordered this first. The brownie sundae was outstanding. Perfectly warms and delicious and topped with vanilla ice cream and some hot chocolate sauce. We devoured that thing in 2.5 seconds!! I can say that there was not one dish I didn't liked I can see why it gets busy here. The staff were great with helping Josh throughout the evening with all the plates we ordered and with cleaning the plates up as we finished. The manager checked in on us a few times which was great as well! Can't wait to come back!

The wait was longer than we expected for our food considering it was maybe a 3rd full in the restaurant. For the appetizer we had the Chickels and Pips. That was good. For my entree, I had the Steak Gorgonzola Alfredo with a house salad. The salad was soggy and the croutons were stale. The entree was average at best the with bites of steak rubbery. I will give a 5 star for the sweet tea as it was outstanding. My wife had the Louisianna Sauteed Catfish. She said the catfish wasn't bad and the cole slaw was pretty good but the grilled vegetables were bad. They were overcooked and saturated with way too much grease. She likes to put lemons in her water but ended up drinking the water plain because the lemons were old. We were excited to bring our friend over to Vernon's but it turned out to be a bummer. You would think they would go out with a "bang" considering they're getting ready to shut down for good. P.S. Chelsea was our server and she was good.

Our app came quickly but the drinks and food came so slowly. Also between us asking for waters while we look at the cocktail menu was a lot of elapsed time. Food: the steak frites were very salty (and I love salt) but definitely the best meal ordered. The "Mac attack" tasted cheeseless -- literally tasted like water. The chicken Alfredo was "mid" but also a super tiny portion. Both pastas looked like kids meals. I guess they were priced appropriately at least. Not pictured was the Donny burger -- described as "eh it was fine". All left more to be desired. We really wanted to try the cinnamon cake but decided against since service was sooooo slow. The peach tea was bad. The oasis marg was okay. When we asked for wine, we were told "I don't know what we have let me show you" and were shown the screen that listed: white, red, rose, and sparkling. The wine should be listed on the menu with the beer and the cocktails. I'd maybe come again to sit at the bar and have a drink or two if there's live music, but otherwise, this is skippable for a full meal service.

Nice, friendly and quick to seat us in a comfortable booth; tables were also an option. Pictures scrolling on TV's throughout the restaurant. Steaming hot, covered in marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese slices were a selection of Lasagna, manicotti, spinach ravioli, tortellini, and ziti. Usually I'm the one to take leftovers home - not tonight. I finished my plate! So good. We did take a slice of cheesecake home to eat later. You can see the pictures.
