In my life I've been to bars all over the country and Walkers has a very special vibe. It's like a family. Everyone is friendly. Not clicky. They have great hamburgers, fun games, best drink prices. Full bar, draft options, even some non-alcoholic choices and the beer is ice cold. There's an ATM and they take cards, they have a good size patio out back that's not really visible. Karaoke nights, crawfish boils. Pretty sure they have live music at times and dance party DJ nights. The owner Tiffany is gorgeous, cool as she can be. Bartenders are great, I have always felt comfortable, welcomed and had a blast no matter if I went during the day or at night. You will be treated right at Walkers!

Even though I'm not usually in my element at bars, and more into coffee shops (since a lot of bars…read morehave an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke, making it difficult to breathe, especially for someone with allergies or asthma), I came here looking for something to eat while Triple-A was on the way to help me with some car trouble. Walker's Landing was within walking distance, & most of the coffee shops & restaurants may have been closed by that time. Walker's Landing was at least open, but not too crowded. I think they also had either music playing or TV with a sporting event in the background (but neither was so loud that conversation was impossible, this was also as I remember things from last year, so I may have forgotten some details). There was also plenty of room for some dancing at this venue! I also needed to visit the restroom, which was a one-seater, but it was well-kept, & there wasn't a wait for it at the time. I honestly debated just giving them 4 stars in this area, just because the bathrooms weren't made to accommodate a larger crowd. But the bathrooms were adequate enough for the crowd tonight, & the people were very nice & generous to me, & I want to return the favor. They do have food on the menu there, but they stop serving the food after a certain time of night (9:00 or 10:00pm? It might vary depending on the day of the week...). I may have "just missed the cutoff" for food by a few minutes (but my visit was nearly a year ago, so again, I may have forgotten some details), so the only thing for me to eat was a small bag of Cheetos (they also have other selections of chips available, so there's always a little something to eat). A gentleman sitting next to me was nice enough to buy me a glass of a margarita (& later, a refill). (I would like to give a "thank-you" shoutout to Mike!) The bartender Amanda was also very friendly & helpful, so I made sure to leave her a cash tip in her tip jar. (I also don't remember whether or not they take credit cards, or if it's cash-only--this was based on my memory of visiting last year, so things may have changed since then.) Sorry I haven't been back since early spring or summer 2019, for a chance to try their food. The times I've driven by, I have always seen at least a few cars to know they are still in business. Maybe they have more visitors at certain times of the year (summer, holidays, etc)? Also not sure how they've been doing since the opening of Vernon's Lakeside, down the street. But the people were friendly, & some of them seemed to know each other (like a small-town-in-Texas-version of "Cheers"). And I was relieved that the air didn't smell too heavily-ridden with cigarette & cigar smoke (like my experience at D&D Main Street Bar, also down the street but in the other direction). I really hope this business makes it, whether or not I'm able to make it back! And I hope they can "hold their own" & set themselves apart from competition from other local bars. Kudos on allowing an allergy-ridden person to breathe without overwhelming them with the smell of cigarette smoke! (Setting Walker's Landing above D&D in my book!)

The place has cool vibes but the service was off, we tried to order from the bar but they prefer you sit and have service that way. Our server started off good but then went awol. Our app came quickly but the drinks and food came so slowly. Also between us asking for waters while we look at the cocktail menu was a lot of elapsed time. Food: the steak frites were very salty (and I love salt) but definitely the best meal ordered. The "Mac attack" tasted cheeseless -- literally tasted like water. The chicken Alfredo was "mid" but also a super tiny portion. Both pastas looked like kids meals. I guess they were priced appropriately at least. Not pictured was the Donny burger -- described as "eh it was fine". All left more to be desired. We really wanted to try the cinnamon cake but decided against since service was sooooo slow. The peach tea was bad. The oasis marg was okay. When we asked for wine, we were told "I don't know what we have let me show you" and were shown the screen that listed: white, red, rose, and sparkling. The wine should be listed on the menu with the beer and the cocktails. I'd maybe come again to sit at the bar and have a drink or two if there's live music, but otherwise, this is skippable for a full meal service.

She was attentive, kind, and always paying attention to whether we needed anything without hovering. We started with the appetizer sampler and chose the fried pickles, okra, and green beans. Everything came out hot, fresh, and lightly breaded, which I really appreciated. Nothing felt greasy or overly heavy. Also, the sweet tea was actually sweet and delicious, not that sad "dark water" tea you sometimes get other places. We split the chicken fried chicken sandwich and an order of 8 honey BBQ wings. Both came out at the same time, and honestly, we probably could have chosen just one because the portions were huge. For the price point, that was a big plus. Everything I saw on the menu looked reasonably priced and fair for today's economy, no price gouging. The chicken fried chicken was cooked perfectly. The breading was light, the outside was crispy, and the chicken was still juicy. The wings were fried naked and crispy before the sauce was added, which I loved. My only tiny nitpick would be that there was a little more sauce than I personally prefer. I would have liked the option to add more sauce if needed, since you can always add more but can't take it off once it's on. Overall, this was such a good experience. Great service, fresh food, big portions, fair prices, and a true local restaurant feel. I'm so glad we chose this place and will definitely be sending people this way!

Same parking lot, nicely covered front entrance, freedom to sit wherever you like. Also same one-seater restrooms, that are not very well ventilated & can get hot & stuffy in the summer. (You'll definitely want to go somewhere else for any restroom breaks after the meal! But before the meal isn't too bad.) I had a water to drink, then they brought out chips & salsa. For the chips, they have the yellow corn chips mixed with a few green-colored chips. For the salsa, they bring a small glass bottle of salsa, a ketchup-bottle-sized container of liquid butter (or sour cream?), & an empty condiment bowl where you can experiment with your perfect combination of salsa & sour cream. That's kinda fun! I also had the plate of spinach enchiladas with sour cream sauce (delicious & vegetarian-friendly!). It came with a few slices of jalapeños, refried beans, & fried rice. I just went by myself for dinner, & I brought along a book to read. Nicely well-lit for reading! It got hot in there, even though I sat in a booth under a ceiling fan. But I would definitely like to go there again in the future!
