After leaving the Whatz-Up Fun Center, my family I googled a restaurant that served fish and shrimp near us. The Pit Stop Bar & Grill popped up, so we drove there. It was only one minute away. Ms. Kenna greeted us and politely sat us at a group table. Her sweet smile and patience was excellent!!! We ordered and she made sure that we had plenty of water to drink. Then kindly asked us several times if we needed anything. This is what I call GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! The food was delicious too. Burger and onion rings were really good; they needed to toast or grill the buns, though. It wasn't very busy, and there was only 1 server, and she took a long time to get to the table and get our drinks, etc. The food was slow, I think the kitchen was cooking 1 order at a time... Our first time to eat here and it was pretty good. Pros-Callie (server was very friendly and attentive), solid omelets with plenty of meat. Over easy eggs cooked to perfection. Loved the fresh salsa. It rivals any Mexican restaurant. Cons-Biscuits very dry and over cooked. Even canned butter biscuits would be better. Stopped in here last Saturday night with my parents. This place hasn't been open very long. It's in a building that used to be a convenience store and a game room or something. So it isn't very big. The service was good and the owner was super nice. There aren't a lot of dining choices down here so it is nice to have options. So the menu is mostly Tex Mex but they also have southern favorites like fried catfish, chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, etc. Oh, they also serve breakfast all day which is a huge plus. The prices are reasonable and the portions are just right. For me anyway. My mother and I both had catfish. We each got 5 or so chunks of nice white catfish filet that was perfectly fried. It was just the right amount too. Not too much and not so little that you feel you didn't get your money's worth. I mention that it was white because I've had the catfish at some other places around here and it was gray and not very good quality. So points code that. Mom got fries on the side and the fries are home style, not crispy like fast food. She loves those. I had a cup of green beans. Dad opted for breakfast and got eggs, bacon (which was nice and crispy), toast, hash-browns, etc. There is no bar but they are BYOB in the evening. Took a couple of pics to give you an idea. Will definitely be back. Like I said, options on the west side of Cedar Creek are pretty limited so this place is very welcome. Hope they do well. read more

Only reason I say 2 stars is because they have one amazing server named Ray, other than that, the place is dirty.. silverware that's rolled up with old food still stuck to it, tables sticky, restroom is not maintained. Menu is long and complex - burgers, sandwiches, "diner fare", seafood, and Tex-Mex - which always makes me wonder how a small cafe can support that large of a menu. First visit, we both got chicken fried steak. It was tender, properly breaded and very nicely cooked. The gravy was a bit bland and my mashed potatoes were cold. Second visit, he got the chicken fried steak again I got the fish/shrimp plate. The chicken fried steak was still very good as were the sides. Well. I was taken in by all the positive reviews about the Pit Stop coming out of Gun Barrel. Just left there. The waitress was very nice. The sweet iced tea did not have a lot of tea. Tasted watered down. The chicken fried steak was not only really thin but really tough. The gravy had a strange after taste. I have eaten tons of chicken fried steak but this had to be one of the worst. Almost $18. Will not be back. read more

Meh. Our server was super cute and helpful. Sweet tea was the best part of my meal followed by guacamole tostada that was a happy accident. Ordered beef WITH guacamole. It was better than the other one. The beef was beef. No flavor. And of course, it got soggy. They all do though. Note to self: do not order lunch special after lunch. Just doesn't cut it. May give them another chance. They have a variety of food. Definitely not a Mexican restaurant. Not sure you can put this place in 1 cuisine class. Went on a Sunday service was great but that's where it ended took 40 minutes to get our food people came after us ate and left. My wife had pancakes and they were great salsa was also great. Chicken fried steak was raw in the middle hash browns mushy. My beef fajita eggs where so salty I couldn't eat them. Told server who told the cook who didn't seem to care. We paid our bill and left don't believe we will be back. Lots of good reviews might have been a bad day I don't know anyway that's my 2 cents. read more

First time to visit this restaurant and the last. It took 35 minutes for our food to come out and there were only two of us. I ordered the cheeseburger and my husband ordered their special of all you can eat fish. The waitress brought out my meal first and then a couple minutes later came ourt to say they were out of pinto beans (which was on the special) so my husband ordered another side, but I told the waitress to bring out the other food then when the other side was done to bring it out. The fish and fries come out but no hush puppies. When asked about hush puppies she informed us they were coming. We finish eating, still no hush puppies and no refill on our water. Waitress brings check to us and when we asked about hush puppies she informed us they were out. She never asked if he wanted more fish, so much for all you can eat fish. I went there today to have lunch. I would never recommend this place to eat. It was the worst I have ever had. Out of four meals not one of us eat any of it. Ordered guacamole and it was black. I had chicken fried steak the steak itself was burned on part of it the other part was grey and slimy. Someone else order to smothered steak and it was nothing but a burned hamburger patty that was very dry. Another person order catfish when you cut into it you could smell that it had gone bad. The last person ordered a burger and it tasted like it has been cooked on the same Grill as the fish.
