I've had this place on my list since 2015 and finally make it out this way. To be honest I was a little disappointed. The place has cool vibes but the service was off, we tried to order from the bar but they prefer you sit and have service that way. Our server started off good but then went awol. They had a full list of beers on the menu but half of them weren't available. I ordered Dallas Blonde not realising it was Dallas Blonde! Why do you have another breweries beers on draft! I get having ciders and seltzers but why one random beer. We were going to order food but decided against it. We like to collect stickers but they didn't have any in stock. A nice craft beer/food oasis, worth the detour if you're doing the back roads thing through this part of Texas. Very impressive array of beers on tap, something for any beer nerd in your group. Also a simple but comprehensive food menu to cover all your meaty/fried/roadside diner type cravings. We opted for a custom pizza, and it was definitely a good lunch choice. Everything was nice and fresh tasting, and with the Dankosaurus IPA passing the Hop Queen's Snoot of Approval, well worth the diversion in our trip to try them out. This was such a casual, fun place. My husband and I came in for a low key date night and we were surprised at how busy they were. They have a large assortment of their beer on tap as well as their own seltzer which was delicious (I had a little lime and cranberry added). The menu is unfussy but delicious. The chicken sandwich was just ok. It seemed to be more bun than chicken breast. The Cajun burger had great flavor and was pretty big. It was a bit on the pricey side for food, but the drinks were reasonable. Tater kegs, chicken sandwich with upgrade to waffle fries, burger with chips that it comes with (bag of Miss Vickie's chips), 1 beer and 1 seltzer came to $58. The service was impeccable. The food was phenomenal. And plenty of beers to choose from. Plowboys is actually inside the awesome Cedar Creek Brewery! Jim started brewing his own at home while still teaching High School. This place is the go to for locals for great beers, food, and friends. They have a mug club for regulars with cool steins that stay at the brewery (see the pic). The food is pretty basic but done with purpose so it's not every day, everywhere else basic if you know what I mean. They are all about the community and supporting local animal shelter, car shows to help a family that lost their house in a fire and so on and on. So, parrotheads, rednecks, hippies, to uptown lawyers and people who live in trailers can all feel at home here, come on down! read more

What a disappointment tonight! Over cooked burgers, fewer fries/onion rings and price increases to $140 for 4 people for 3 burgers and a salad. We did have a few beers and two glasses of wine. $20 burgers might fly in Dallas, but not in Cedar Creek Lake area. We almost ordered pizza, but $29 for a pie was not in the cards. There is a reason at 8:20 on a Friday night there were only a few cars left in your parking lot. Vernons down the street had 60-70 cars. The music tonight was the highlight! Cool little taproom that includes the cowboy cafe. They have a good variety of beer styles and all of them tasty. My favorites were the Gone-a-rye double IPA with rye and the Smoked cherry quad. This is a decent brewery. I went to check it out on a Saturday afternoon. Nice setup and good beer. Perhaps it was the time of day, but they weren't very busy. While I know attracting business is important and obviously families with children are welcomed, I prefer to imbibe with likeminded adults and not having children around. Beer is decent but falls short competing with breweries in larger areas like Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and Houston. Food is a total bust. Fried pickles are sliced from a jar, thrown in to batter and served with ranch - would prefer to see/experience a little more effort than I could do in my own kitchen. Chips and salsa were the same...chips were like bricks. Turkey wrap I could've made myself. Chopped steak was two hamburger patties smothered and in dark gravy with a few sautéed onions on top. Green beans had no taste. Waffle fries should be called waffle chips. And they didn't have macaroni and cheese...they ran out on a Friday night...really, on a Friday night? There is no place like home, to be sure. Cedar Creek is my home. As Seth Meyers (and many folks you will meet in Gun Barrel City) will say "Back in my day..." .... Back in my day we had Vetoni's, Pitt Grill, The Ranch House, and El Jacalito. That's it! As I enjoyed craft beers in the city of Denton after leaving home, the idea of craft beer in my hometown seemed like an impossibility. As my Dad's friends would say, "You Liberals can have your micro brews, I'll take my Old Milwaukee." Ewww. Anyways, that mentality has subsided. I went there in September to meet with my brother and his wife, and the place was popping, with all types. The patio was beautiful and the staff was kind. Kids and dogs abound. It's the standard brewery setup, flights and pints. They have an internal restaurant too, with above average food for what you might expect. It was inexpensive too. I'm so glad this place is out there, a piece of away from home at home that is quite welcomed, and tasty! read more

I would give Cedar Creek Brewery o higher score but they rubbed me the wrong way. I went in with my wife and three kids; my brother in law met us there later. The place was smaller than I thought but it was nice enough. The staff was somewhat pleasant as well. My wife has the cherry limeade sour and I had the Irish red. We both thought the beer was good but not great. We brought some small snacks in for our three kids under the age of 5. Right before we were going to order a second round of drinks and right when my brother in law showed up, we were told that there was no outside food or drinks. I can understand that they want people to order their food but it was just snacks for toddlers. We had to tell our kids that they couldn't eat snacks and of course that didn't go over well. Long story short, because they told us we couldn't let our kids have the snacks, we basically had to leave and they lost our business. read more

Plowboys Cafe is actually the food service in Cedar Creek Brewery! I was checking out Cedar Creek Brewery and couldn't tell if they served food or not, so this is helpful info!!! I may post this on both Yelp pages since the photos didn't really accentuate this fact on the Cedar Creek Brewery page. Also, they serve Sunday brunch until 12pm before they switch to the normal menu! They have a mimosasaurus during Sunday brunch only - a beer with a splash of orange juice! Yum! Tasted great and was a good spin on normal mimosas! The brunch menu is decent - with Loaded Hashbrowns, Breakfast Burger on a croissant, Breakfast Tacos, etc on the menu for a decent price. You can even build your own breakfast with French Toast, Sausage, etc ala carte. The French Toast was a steal at $2.50 for 2 slices cut in half (total 4 pieces). Yum! The breakfast tacos was also a deal for $3.50 for 2 fairly large sized tacos! We enjoyed our brunch here! Once the kitchen switches to the lunch menu - you get a variety of selections from bratwursts to hamburgers and salads. They have a shared section with waffle fries, fried mac and cheese, onion rings, fried green beans and fried pickles. The waffle fries and fried mac were delish! I'm so glad this place exists in Cedar Creek lake! Good place to hang out and enjoy a beer and some good eats! You can also do a brewery tour and they have a small indoor space where they sell food/beer and tshirts! There's two outdoor patio areas - one in the front and one on the side. I didn't see any games but the addition of activities would add to the environment - maybe some cornhole or shuffleboard, etc. They have 2 official Tesla charging stations, which made us all laugh. They have good quality beers and I'm currently enjoying their Pale Lager as I write this. I'm an IPA guy but as I gotten older they tend to make me feel bad so I tried this lager and it has a slight hoppiness to it. I've had their Dankasouras and it's a top-notch IPA. The staff has always been friendly and for those snobs griping about food taking too long to get out need to get over themselves, it's a flipping brewery. It's not white table cloth. They've got a good thing going there and I've been to tons of breweries and I recommend them. read more

Really nice setup hidden in a super small town. It took us an hour to get there from the metroplex, but that's pretty comparable to getting anywhere else with traffic. They have a pretty good menu - burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Staff was super friendly and welcoming! They definitely make you want to come back. We came on a Thursday, which is trivia night. We lost terribly, but had a good time playing. The people running trivia were just as friendly and welcoming as the staff. We got a 6 pack of their Patio Pounder to go, and hope to get back down there soon. read more

They have a great selection of beers, my favorite being the Dankosaurus IPA. The Sunday morning brunch was also the perfect hangover remedy. It is a small place but was perfectly able to accommodate our larger group of 16.
