Exceptional experience with service by Christina. She is absolutely amazing, ambiance is great, and almost all of our food was amazing. 2/3 of our steaks were way over cooked and they tried to make it right, but the experience overall was great and we will be back. Great drinks and an amazing build out as well!

So where to start? I guess first, it is hard to believe this place exists. It is a really nice steakhouse in the middle of the country. It feels 'mostly' like it would be in the middle of the city. It does still have a little country charm...not jam packed, and the wait staff was friendly and nice. We were especially impressed with the food. It really was as good as you would get anywhere. Even the bread was impressively good. The steaks were amazing. It is expensive for the country but would be pricier if it were in the city. Overall, a really cool place that before going, I had no idea existed.

We were looking for a nice steakhouse to go to for dinner and Fig's popped up on the Google search. Our waitress Christina was absolutely amazing. She was so kind and answered all our questions. The food was so delicious as well. We had the bread and escargot for appetizers. We each had a steak and split the Mac & cheese and au gratin potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back and will request Christina to serve us again. Thanks!!

Steak servings are small, service was poor, and they were out of a lot of things on the menu. Probably will not go back.

There were overhead heaters around the outside bar but somewhat strangely the door to the main building was kept open and there was no heat inside. Our waitress wore a puffer jacket both inside and outside. Brrrr. When the waitress came around to take our orders, since I had never been here before, I asked her what was the best thing they did, what was their standout menu item. She didn't have an answer and seemed confused. Then she walked across the room and pulled something off the wall and came back to our table. She said these are our specials and proceeded to run down them. Ok, weird since why wouldn't they always go through the specials, and this is also not what I asked. So I asked her again in a different way, what are they known for. She was still confused and then just ran through the regular menu items. Ok, so absolutely no useful guidance on the menu and their food. Anyways, I ordered the steak frites, medium. It came out with absolutely no sear and was rare. Additionally the cut was very fatty, with large chunks of fat on each piece of meat. Yuck. The lady had the 456 cheeseburger and said it was delish. Rating edit: Downgraded from 2 to 1 stars after a nasty case of food poisoning started the next day.

Nothing flashy, nothing trying too hard just flavor that knew where it came from and didn't apologize. The arugula salad came sharp and clean, green with intent, that bitter edge that wakes you up a little and reminds you you're still alive. It wasn't there to impress you. It was there to balance things out, like a deep breath between sentences. I drank Earl Grey tea, steam rising slow, bergamot drifting up like memory, like train smoke somewhere far off. It felt right. The kind of tea you drink when you're not rushing anywhere, when the world can spin without you for a moment and that's okay. Fern in the Wild isn't trying to reinvent eating. It's doing something better. It's paying attention. To ingredients. To pace. To the quiet pleasure of a meal done right. I left feeling fed in more ways than one--like I'd stopped long enough to hear myself think. That's rare. That's worth something. I'll be back.

I ordered the Icaro spicy margarita, which had the perfect balance of heat, citrus, and sweetness. Definitely a standout cocktail. But the highlight of the experience was our waitress, Nataliya. Honestly, 4 Kahunas Tiki Lounge right here in Arlington is right up there with the very best of them. The place just feels like an instant getaway. It's tucked back off the main drag but the second you walk in you're on some tropical island, no plane ticket required. The cocktails are legit. Super well-made, great balance, real tiki depth, none of that fake sweet garbage you sometimes get. Every drink we've had has been spot-on. Maggie working the bar is the real MVP though. She's quick, knows her stuff inside out, super friendly, and somehow makes the whole night feel personal. Whatever we ordered, she crushed it and kept the good vibes going. She's a huge reason we keep coming back. Only thing that would make it even better? A water feature. A little fountain, a trickling stream down some rocks, or even a small waterfall wall in the back would dial the ambiance up to 11 and really sell that full island escape feel. If you're anywhere in the DFW area and you're into tiki or just killer cocktails, you gotta check out 4 Kahunas. Small spot, super cozy, and easily one of the best tiki experiences in Texas. Already counting down to the next visit.
