Me and my friend Brenda stopped in for dinner on our quilting road trip. We asked at Stitchin Heaven Quilt Shop where they eat Mexican food and they suggested here. Chips are very tasty here, come out with a tasty salsa as soon as you sit down. We both ordered off the lunch menu - lunch options for dinner with a $1 up charge. I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas with a side salad and a small Queso. The fajita veggies were a little burnt. I tried to get them off the skillet as soon as they brought it out. It was still tasty but would have been better if not crispy burnt. They let me sub a side salad for the rice and beans - which I love. I make a salad out of my fajitas since I try to stay lower carb and I already ate a 1/2 basket of chips. The Queso was ok. It's a good size for a small. I tried ordering a smaller portion but they didn't do anything smaller. My friend's meal was huge and she got a combination plate off the lunch menu too. Hers looked yummy too! We ordered shrimp fajitas. There wasn't enough veggies to fill a tortilla. We told the waiter and they said they would bring more veggies out. I ordered a fajita quesadilla. Decent prices & standard Tex Mex food.. nothing outstanding where you would drive a long distance to eat here... pretty average. The staff does not seem happy to be there. Lots of "coldness" from the staff to anyone that visits... "how many?" is how you're greeted... and it's not a "happy" to see you how many either... staff is generally cold and borderline frustrated that you're there creating them work... no friendliness, very cold interactions. Lastly, service... service is often bad. The server is either too busy to help everyone.. they are overloaded... or they're checking their phones or hiding out. I usually drive outside of Quitman to eat Tex Mex... I would eat here more often if the service was better and the staff were friendly.... this restaurant wouldn't last in a bigger city with competition. read more

This is by far the best Mexican food within 30 miles of Quitman. The tortilla soup is very good, as well as the Oaxaca if you like spicy food. The chips and salsa are good as well. They have excellent desserts with sopapillas as big as footballs. read more

This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant. I go here specifically for the chips and salsa. On more than one occasion I have bought just that! I always get the shrimp quesadillas and they are delicious. The rice is always the perfect texture-not too hard or too mushy! This is a family owned Tex-Mex restaurant. They have been in business for years at this location. The food is real good and very consistent. The wait staff sticks around here because the numbers are good. I like that because they get to know the regular customers and know what you like.
