We came here for lunch after a recommendation while we were picking up our kid from camp, and we're…read moreso glad we did. The brisket was perfection. The best brisket we've had anywhere in Texas, an we've been to many top 50 joints, no doubt. A bit out of our way, but absolutely worth the stop! Leaving back on the long road home to Colorado and we are already missing Texas and this sweet spot for the best brisket hands down is already on our mind...

CowBurners is a place I've grown to love over the years. Minneola has plenty of good places to eat,…read moreand it's a town I pass through often since it's near where my dad loves to fish--but no matter how many options there are, I always find myself coming back here. I'm not even the biggest BBQ person, which says a lot--but their brisket is unbelievable, easily the best I've had and still unmatched anywhere else I've tried. It's tender, flavorful, and consistently excellent. My go-to order is the Frito Q pie with green beans and fried okra. The sides are always packed with flavor, and I love that the okra is fried to order--it's always hot and crisp. But my absolute favorite item on the menu has to be the pork rind nachos. They're indulgent in the best way and completely unforgettable. CowBurners has become such a staple for me that I actually plan a stop whenever I'm driving from Nashville to Dallas, just to make sure I get a fix. That alone should tell you how good it is. This is one of those rare spots that keeps you coming back--not out of habit, but because nothing else quite compares.

I had a chance last October while I was in Rockwall for a wedding to try it, but because the wedding was a top priority (whatever!!!), it didn't happen. Yesterday was my chance. Inside this food park was a vast sea of options, but my eyes were set on the back left where Smoak Town laid. They have a huge tent with plenty of tables to sit at under the shade and the space is wrapped in their wood, giving the joint an oak log fence around the food truck. By the time I got there a little past 1:30, they were out of sausage and mac and cheese. Sad! Other than that, my order was simple: brisket, pork ribs, pork belly burnt ends, and a side of their brew brisket beans. The brisket was a thick slice that was moist and flavorful. I love those chunky slabs of brisket. There is just something about a thicker cut that knocks skinnier cuts out of the park. The pork ribs were juicy and tender. I rarely get pork belly burnt ends over a sausage, but they are always a treat like they were here. Just a little taste of heaven. The beans were savory, hearty, and well seasoned. I was pretty impressed by them as well. The team working was super conversational and friendly. The guy in front of me was having his first taste of Texas barbecue, and they were being super helpful making sure he got a true, flavorful experience. This spot feels hidden but is worth the trip. There were quite a few people hanging around enjoying the excellent barbecue. Worth the pit stop and worth the drive if you live anywhere in the DFW metro. It was simply fate (GET IT???) to try Smoak Town. RIYL: The quieter barbecue spots that pack the same punch

I had sent a DM to the pit master about our visit and placing an order to pick up. Unfortunately they didn't have brisket at the time of our visit but everything else we got was wonderfully delicious. We picked up the Texas Trinity w/Ribs, sausage & pork belly burnt ends with 2 sides. Every thing was delicious but the ribs were the star of the plate. Thank you Smoak Town BBQ for cooking delicious food. They are currently located at a food park but will be moving into a brick and mortar.
