Had the best breakfast sausage burrito and amazing hot sauce. The tortillas seam fresh made.

TWO tacos, barely a tablespoon of beans and rice and it came out to over $10. A LOT of gristle in the meat, not to mention the chicken was like rubber. I'll never go back to this place. I usually go to La Victoria in Sulphur Springs. read more

Yum, Yum, Yum!! When you drive up to Gordita Express it doesn't look like much, in fact, you may drive right past it. This is a small, restaurant located in the small town of Emory. Most people do not go inside, but stop by the drive through, hence the word, "Express," in the title, but this food is anything reminiscent of most fast food fare. If you find inside or get something in the drive through, you will not be disappointed. They serve authentic Mexican food, I always try something new, and I've never been dissatisfied. I'm so glad to find someplace with authentic Mexican food so close to home. Moving to the lake (Lake Tawakoni) full time is a trade off. Longer commutes, fewer shopping choices, etc. However you live a the lake!! One of our trade offs was the loss of great Mexican street food as found in the DFW area. Well Gorditas Express is great real Mexican food, you can't go wrong eating there,. How do you know, well English is the 2ed language there!! This is a must-visit restaurant! Very deserving of all five stars. The guacamole was made fresh at the time we ordered it. I ordered the Torta plate a/k/a Mexican sandwich plate was over-the-top delicious. My husband had their four taco plate and raved about it. My girlfriend ordered a potato-egg-bacon burrito and she has ordered one to take home for breakfast tomorrow. The tables AND chairs were shiny and clean and the restrooms were very clean. Treat yourself when you are in this neck of the woods to some amazingly tasty and authentic Mexican food. If you are in a hurry, they have a drive-thru window. Love love love this place! There's a few other small Mexican restaurants in town but this by far is the best! More authentic, homemade and more affordable! Hands down best in town! Amazing street tacos! El pastor pork tacos were great, but the chorizo tacos were the real gem. The chorizo had excellent flavor with just the right amount of heat, and not too greasy. Both the green and red table sauces were perfect compliments to the flavors of the tacos. This doesn't even deserve a star for their piss poor service since came in there for the first time with some of my friends who live in point to spend the fourth. So order the street taco plate get two pastor tacos and then got fajita taco the meat looked liked it been boiled with no flavor. So I took it up to the counter said that didn't like and could get my money back after only having a bite of it. So the you g girl that was working at the counter let me see what I can do and cams back was like their nothing that can do about it. I'm like what do you mean that you can do anything wouldn't give me straight answer about it. But the girl who was bring food out was nice enough to do it and the girl who guess that ran the place came out got very ugly about it. She was like I don't give a shit if you didn't like it and weren't suppose to get your money back. So she made me so mad that was like you don't have to be a bitch about it and my buddy was Apologize about it as much didn't want did it anyway for him.
