The people were very nice and ordering was a piece of cake! In all seriousness, the people were very responsive and my dog really loved the cake! She finished it so fast and loved it. If you have a special occasion for your dog, you should definitely have them try the cake here! I ordered the cake and in about 2-3 hrs they had it ready, so that was really nice.

I am deeply grateful to have stumbled upon this adorable dog bakery. This is by far the most unique gem I discovered to celebrate our fur babies special day. It was my pup, Matthew's first birthday, and I thought to be spontaneous to take him and his brother and sister out for a nice stroll around LB. We wanted it to be special, so I placed an order for a cake; I believe it was a 6 inch Paw Cake. It was made with natural ingredients, and it's more on the healthier side, whereas, dogs could enjoy every bite of it. Additionally, Matthew devoured it and ate it the rest leaving none for the others, haha. I am glad he had a memorable. Thank you to the owner, Rosanna for assisting me and my partner for our first time here. I apologize for Matthew's behavior-- he is such a happy bic boy, and he had so much fun at this place! thank you for the hospitality. We will for sure be back, again!

Rosanna is just about the nicest and most authentic person you'll ever meet. She is passionate about her work, and she is your pet's best friend (other than you, of course). I was warmly greeted by her when she unlocked the door for me (she's sticking to strict infection control during the BA4 and BA5 omicron surge in June and July of 2022), so you can feel safe being here. She does not allow a crowd of patrons inside her meticulously curated display--even the social distancing markers on the floor are super cute. Her selection of merchandize offers a feast to the eyes and hearts. Her daycare service has been affected because of the pandemic, since many people are working from home now and no longer need to send their pets to daycare. Please support her if you can. If you want your best friend to meet another human best friend, this is the place to be.

The owner shared that the cake's decorations might not last very long, but I didn't have an issue with that since I kept it refrigerated! This is my second time buying a cake from pjs pet cafe and just as the first time my dog loves it. I've tried other dog bakeries but this one is definitely my favorite since their cakes are a soft bread not one of the hard ones like biscuits/cookies. The decorations are beautiful and the price is very reasonable. Will for sure continue buying cakes from here not going anywhere else anymore. Zeus and Lola had an awesome birthday party thanks to the tasty cakes from PJ's. I pre-ordered a couple of days, which is recommended, and the owner opened especially on the 4th of July so that I could have the cakes fresh. She also advised that the frosting doesn't last so the dogs had to eat them right away. Cheers and hope we have many more birthdays to come! read more

The owner is a sweetheart! I had a cake made here for my 5 year old French bull dog's birthday and his 2 siblings, the cake was a hit. They loved it and when it was gone they definitely missed it. The ingredients are honest and she's clear about what's in it. She makes them fresh and with no shame I'll tell you I took a bite just to taste. It was tasty! I definitely recommend. Amazing job on my dog Fred's cake! She opened Sunday just so I could pick up the cake when I ordered it last minute! Fred loved the cake and looked so cute with it in his party photos. I was in search of a cake for my dog, Moley's, 10th birthday. I called to inquire about their cakes and how to preorder one, the owner answered, and she came across as rude to me. I still went in to see what they had and she's actually really nice and passionate about what she does. There are about five different shapes and sizes for the cakes. The ones I can remember are: heart, dog bone, two tier round, and a present. You pick the colors that for the decoration and when you pick up the cake she lets you choose a candle, plastic dog, and a plastic happy birthday sign. Moley loved the cake!! She ate it so fast and wanted more, but it is way too much for one day for her size. I'm glad the owner suggested that I cut the cake into several slices and wrap each piece in foil and freeze it; to give as treats later. read more

PJ pet cafe saved the day. Customer Service was great. I called last minute and she told me to come in and she would show me the cakes available. Ordered the cupcake for my dog's birthday here at PJ's Pet Cafe. They have a variety of sizes, types and colors for pet cakes for a reasonable price. The pet cafe also sold treats, pet collars, harnesses and other pet accessories. The lady here was friendly and patient with me. I read the other reviews and it had mentioned to order at least 2-3 days in advance. So I did just that (ordered 3 days before pick up) since the ingredients of the frosting (made of sweet potato and dairy) do not hold together for a long time. She gave me a call when my cake was ready. The cake looked perfect and included a candle. I would definitely come back here for my dog's next celebration! read more

I bought a small cake for my pup's 10th birthday. The owner and her daughter were just so sweet. They have a little birthday celebration room thrre that was really cute, but I was having a party at my house for him so I wanted to pick it up. She explained to me after its picked up its only good for about an hour because it is solely made from potatoes and will crumble after some time. She puts a lot of care and love into these cakes and totally made the whole day for us!! read more

I came in to order a cake for my doggo. The owner, I believe her name is Rossana, was so kind and knowledgeable. For an odd reason i though the cake was going to be made with beef. Rossana explained to me what she puts on her cakes, potatoes and blueberries. She shared she has done her research and provides the friendliest dog cakes. She also shared to take pictures with the dog and the cake first as the potatoes can ruin the cake (not picture friendly). When I came home I took pictures of the doggo with his cake. The cake made it past four hours later. I put the cake in the fridge and kept it in the box to ensure the potatoes didn't ruin it. My dog LOVED THE CAKE. Definitely coming back next year. read more

My favorite pet bakery in Long Beach. Reasonably priced and the owner is super sweet. Thank you AGAIN so much for making my dog's birthday a blast! My dog loves his cake so much. I highly recommend! Also, make sure you order your cake on time! A guy walked in (while I was waiting to pick up my cake) making it seem like her store was a Baskin Robbins and she specified she "may" have a few pre-made (frozen) ones. Anyway! This is by far the best dog bakery ever! It was my very first time here & was clueless as to what my fur baby would like. I ended up going with the large "Two Steps" cake which I believe is blueberry with sweet potato icing. She did say to take all the pictures you want within 5-15 minutes because the icing starts to crack & look really ugly but this was not the case at all!!! The cake looked amazing from when I picked it up at 6:15pm to me getting home at 7:00pm. Both of my babies loved this cake so much. To say the least, I definitely will be coming back here & hopefully have my baby try the treats & other goodies which all look amazing. I recommend this place, you will not regret it. read more

I absolutely love Pj's and Rossana. I take my dog (a pitbull) twice a week and she loves it. There is no one else, outside of my partner, that I would trust with my dog. Rossana treats each and every one of the dogs in her shop equally. She takes the time to hug and give individual attention to every single one of them each day. Called to see if any cakes were available same day, and the owner made one for us on the spot! She was so sweet and definitely went above and beyond for my pup. My dog LOVED the cake and the owner said the cake was made of all natural ingredients (cake is made with blueberries and the frosting is made with potatoes), so I felt no guilt letting her eat the whole thing. This place really sucks. I called earlier and confirmed the hours of operation. I came over at 4:30pm (they SAY there open 10a-7p) and there's no one here and the store is locked. I normally don't rate places that I haven't tried but I'm making an exception because I took time out of my day and drove all the way over specifically for this place. read more

Cute doggy place. The owner is soo nice and goes out of her to help. I bought my dog some treats and he is sooo picky but he loved those! I also ordered him a cake for his birthday and it was sooo cute! The cake was the size of a palm and i paid around $23 for it. Will definitely return here. read more

The lady who works there told me she needs at least 2-3 days, but she bakes extras. Whatever's left is on a first come, first served basis. No private lot but ample parking around there.

My golden lab is 15 and needs special care, and they are so patient with her and really understand her needs. They also know exactly how to handle my 13-year-old pit bull, which means a lot to me. They are incredibly caring, loving, and kind, and they always do their best to accommodate my last-minute schedule changes. Communication is easy and consistent, which I really appreciate. He is very precious to me and unfortunately he has been fighting cancer for over a year. Alea said she had gone through cancer with one of her previous dogs, so completely understood my situation. My Rosco is on chemo and has to drink alot of water all day and urinate nearly every 2 hrs, so he is somewhat high maintenance. Alea took excellent care of him. He usually looses weigh when boarded due to separation anxiety, but I never saw that when she watched him. Alea even took the time to text pictures of him to me periodically, sometimes daily, which re-assured me that he was happy in her care. I thought that was so nice of her to make that extra effort. I'm so happy I found her and would definitely use Alea's services again!

I know kennels in general will keep your pet caged, including the bigger board & care places like pet stores and such. Sleepover Rover was quick in contacting me and providing potential doggie sitters. It was great having open options. I think it's better to leave your pets in the care of a family, to minimize the separation anxiety for you & your pets! Our host , Inna, was very gracious to receive us into her home. We wanted to visit and give our dogs a look-see at their next home for a few days. She allowed us to visit, dogs and family members, not just once but twice. We were able to spend a good half-hour with them each time. She was so nice, and her husband and kids certainly made our dogs feel at home. She also reassured me over the phone on the first and second nights of our stay apart from each other. We did bring the doggies' own food, treats, beddings and food /water bowls (to given them a sense of the familiar while away from home). We got both pets (a Rhodesian Ridgeback Boxer mix & Terrier Beagle mix) back all safe and sound, and none the worse for wear. I definitely would recommend this service to anyone looking to board their pets. At the end of their service, her boys gave us the sweetest drawing of the dogs and themselves and this note: Don't forget us! I kept it and it's still on my refrigerator!

Monday, April 25th, 2022. Received a call from my sister in law that my brother who is a cancer survivor and current dialysis patient is Septic throughout his body and Gangrene along with other heart issues has given him only days to live. As I am throwing stuff in a bag with one hand and renting a car to drive to Idaho with the other. I am thinking I have to go online and try and book care for my fur babies asap! I can't even think at this point. I just call Mihail and leave him what I am sure is a very frantic message of needing care for my babies. I make contact with Mihail and he is so quick to assure me that he has "the crew" which he calls my 3 babies. I tell him I don't know when I will be back and he says don't worry I've got them. Just keep in touch. Yes! I have used Mihail's services once before and that was a Huge Success!! So, his few words put me at ease that I didn't have to worry. His constant communication during the time I was gone was priceless to me. I'm sure it was just his way of continuing to offer support and ease at a time that I needed it most. Far from what you could expect from an overpriced boarding/kennel service. Not only were my babies able to stay in their own home. Mihail's, prices and commitment to care for them as his own. The aisles are very well organized, so it's very easy to find what you're looking for. For those of you who like to bathe your furry friend yourself, this store has self bathing facilities. They have a few large sinks in the front of the store, where you can bring in your pooch, and clean them up. Located right on 2nd St., this business is easy to find. For those of you who know the area, there's a lot of street parking, and a few lots around the area, so parking should ever be a problem. So I've walked by this place plenty of times but i've never stopped in. well this time was different because I was with my sister and she's a dog owner. I've bragged about this place to my sister before and asked her to check it out. So we were excited when we walked in. We checked out the cakes and some other items. A woman with a strong accent comes out and asked how she could help us. She had this worried look on her face but we ignored it. My sister asked her about the doggy day care service and in a very rude way the woman just basically tells us what we already know that she runs a daycare for dogs and says nothing more, so the 3 of us are kinda standing there for a few seconds, it was very obvious that the woman wanted us OUT of there.... My sister pointed to a room in the back which looked like the play area (day Care) and we saw 2 Dogs whimpering in the dark and by the way the entire store was super HOT!!!! Those poor dogs. We asked if we could go in and check it out and again in a very rude manner she said NO! So we just literally walked away without saying anything else, she escorted us out without saying bye or anything. It was a very awkward and honestly kinda suspicious. She really didn't want us to even look at the room behind her (dog play area). VERY suspicious & Very sad!!! I would never leave my pet there and I would never recommend anyone to leave their pet there either. Besides her being rude and suspicious, those poor dogs where whimpering in that very dark and HOT room! Btw this was in the evening. Very disappointed! read more

Absolutely delighted with PJ's Pet Café! I called at 5 PM last minute to arrange a cake for our French bulldog's first birthday Pawty and was blown away by the exceptional service. Rossana, the owner, was not only friendly and knowledgeable but also incredibly accommodating, ensuring that a perfect cake was ready by 6 PM. The $25 I spent felt like a steal for such quality and service. The cake itself was a hit at the Pawty! Thanks so much to Rossana and the team for making our little celebration so special.
