We rescued a beautiful dog back in November, I mean handsome (he would like us to say handsome I'm sure ha!). He looked all cute and cuddly and connected with our puppy. They played with no incidents, he let his new 8lb sister boss him around and he listened to us, it was great. Then we took for a walk around the neighborhood..... Oh dear God. He went from cute and cuddly to Tasmanian Devil. He would snapped at every dog he encountered during his walk and pull as much as he could to chase after them. The only way to take him to the dog park was to keep him on the private enclosure. We would go to the dog beach but he would have to sit at the back far far away while his sister ran around and got to play. It was stressful and sad. We did one course at Pet Smart and he learned basic commands & we learned a couple of things ourselves to help him but there was no way we could trust him around anyone else. This went on for 8 months. Then we find out about Cammie. As soon as I told her about what was going on she just smiled and assured me that she could turned him around and teach us to help him feel at peace. I'm not ashamed to say that after the first session I cried, but of happiness. She was great with him. By the time our first session was over he was a completely different dog. You can see that he was happy that someone understood that he was just scared but wanted to learn to be a good dog. Our follow up session included a trip to the park where he learned to play off leash!! Cammie has a way to make them feel safe and eager to learn. He kept looking at her every time he walked around and she kept reassuring him that he was safe and we would not let another dog hurt him. It has been one month and we just came back from vacation where he ran around off leash at 2 different dog beaches, played with other dogs & chased seagulls. Cammie came out for our first training. My little girl is only 21 weeks old so needs to start learning manners. It took a couple of hours. The first part of the training was with me alone. Once I was "trained" (schooled on dog behavior), when we brought in my dog, she was amazing. The only command she didn't have down pat was the come command. She was amazing with "off," "sit," & "stay." Cammie wasn't giving the commands, I was. We adopted two rescues, that showed all signs of being abused, about a year ago. The male (brother) was quick to attack and the female (sister) was quick to kiss. As soon as Cammie came into the house, our dogs knew there was a ''new sheriff in town." Cammie and her rules were a blessing to us and how to work with our new dogs. After the first session, our dogs were eager to please and listened to us. Sitting, staying, not begging and being so much calmer was noticed immediately by us. She never responded to several emails on the website she had up. Finally called her as I was walking past her place and she reluctantly came out so I could interview her and she could see my dog. My dog was less than a year old and less than 15 pounds. He tried to play with one of her big dogs and, instead of correcting him or lightly setting him down, she pushed him and he sprained his ankle so bad that he was only able to walk a few feet and I had to carry him home. I used to place my dog in kennels and vets when I left for short trips, but with Cammie, I just let her stay home and guard the house (the dog, that is).
