Called around to a few different groomers for my anxious dog. Don Doggos was the first to respond. I had questions like how much the rates were, how long a groom typically takes and what shampoos, supplies they used. They answered all my questions and let me know that they had appointments available. The woman that called me back also helped schedule my appointment (and set up my account). Not even half an hour later, they let me know that I would have to reschedule -luckily the other time they offered worked for me. I appreciated that they let me know asap and that my next pick for an appointment was available. On the day of the groom, I received a text reminder for my appointment. When I arrived, there was someone in line ahead of me waiting to be taken in for doggy daycare. Eddie, the groomer came out afterwards to meet my dog. We discussed what services we required and he also acknowledged some notes that I gave about my dog during the prior call. I also appreciated that Eddie asked if my dog was allergic to anything and of there were any other issues. I have been to a few groomers and I don't recall being asked those questions. The thoroughness of the intake made me feel confident that I am leaving my furry companion in good hands. I let Eddie know that my guy was sensitive in certain body parts. About a little over an hour later, Don Doggos rang to let me know that my dog was ready. Quickest groom so far that we have experienced -first appointment of the day! When I arrived a young woman at the front counter rang me me and she also explained how a typical groom takes on average 90 minutes, maybe longer, and that usually, the first appointment of the day goes by quick. Eddie comes out from the back later on with my dog looking less like a gremlin and more like a distinguished gentleman. My guy is baseline anxious and I feel like Eddie's calm demeanor helped make it easier for my dog. I asked for recommendations on grooms moving forward and Eddie was helpful with that as well. Looking at my dog's fur later on after we got home, I can't tell where the cut started or ended so I know Eddie was meticulous with his work. Bonus points of whomever takes the calls and does the scheduling because they made it so easy. They also communicate via text and they reply RIGHT AWAY. Dons Doggos is located near Termino and has it's own lot which is helpful in Zaferia, but being that our appointment was earlier in the day and on not a Saturday or Sunday, I found parking on the street in front during drop off and pickup. I bring my boy in for day stays and have done a five day board. As a pit bull, he is in a separate kennel from others. Perfect for my reactive rescue. They take him out for one on one time three times a day. Update pictures are sent and my dog is always happy, thrilled to go into their care and chill coming home. Staff has been kind and communicative. En suite cameras have always worked too! Doggo comes back smelling great and they even cleaned his bed at the end of the boarding stay. I found Don Doggos through an Instagram ad and decided to give them a try -- always on the hunt for the next best groomer in Long Beach! First win? They have a parking lot! After dealing with groomers that only offered street parking (and circling the block for anything within 3-4 blocks), this was such a welcome change. The shop is brand new -- super clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. The grooming area is large, with room to grow as they bring on more groomers. Eddie was our groomer, and he was fantastic. He took time to listen, snapped a photo of my dog's previous cut to use as a reference, and had him looking fabulous in just 2.5 hours. My pup usually clings to me post-groom, but this time he was calm, sniffing around, and even wandered back toward the grooming area -- a good sign he felt safe and unbothered. What really sold me was watching Eddie work with the next dog -- a nervous, recently rescued Maltipoo that had spent its life in a garage. The poor thing was shaking, but Eddie was so gentle and patient, speaking softly and handling him with care. It was heartwarming to see. Highly recommend Don Doggos! The grooming of my two standard golden doodles was truly "a cut above." For the first time in four years (since Richard stopped grooming at PetSmart) all the mats were taken out of their bodies in general-and their tails in particular. Recently, no one had seemed to be able to fully brush the mats out of the tails and I thought I would just have to live with stringy tails. Now I may need to change their names to "Fluffy Tail I and II". The pricing is fair. In addition, they keep whitening shampoo for dogs like mine. Most other places either don't have it or charge extra. With white dogs this shampoo makes a huge difference in final result. The location of Doggos may look small from the outside but it is very large inside. They currently have day care and will be able to do overnights in the near future. . When the overnight area is finished I would keep my dogs there without a second thought. In addition, they have a smallish parking lot but a large amount of short-term parking in front of the shop. By the way, I'm a veterinarian. If things change I will update this review. read more

The website offers remote viewing cameras of the daycare area but when I got there was told they're not yet operational although they've been open for a couple of months. Also all of, the private suites that day had been spray painted that day even though there was at least one dog staying overnight and the smell was brutal. The staff is friendly, you can tell they are gentle with the dogs. The facility is also very clean and well maintained, and a big plus is that they have a parking lot!
