And, my, oh my, as soon as we parked, we saw the line. Thank goodness, these folks were on their game and despite a decently long line to be seated, they were able to get us in pretty quickly and continued to do so with others, throughout our entire visit. This is teamwork at its best - front and back of the house killing it. We ordered brunch cocktails (bloody mary and mimosa), shared one of their seasonal specials (churro french toast) and had entrees (chilaquiles and crispy rellenos & eggs). Yes, before you think it, yes, we ordered way too much food but took some home with us. Service was really great - fast and cooked to order. Our server checked on us often but not so much that we felt rushed (despite seeing all the folks waiting to be seated, lol). It was a great meal that we'd drive back for. Brunch House has a great vibe - a bit of an upscale diner feel with really elevated food. We will def return in the fall and maybe sit outside. Do yourself a favor, add them to your short list.

I noticed servers coming behind the bar to make drinks, one server standing around watching TV, and some staff wearing their hats backward. It gave the impression that there wasn't a strong sense of professionalism or clearly defined roles. The bartender also didn't seem very attentive to the guests who were actually seated at the bar. It also felt like there may have been too many people working at the same time without a clear system for who was responsible for what. As for the food, I enjoyed it. One area that could improve the guest experience is what happens when food is delivered. Whether it's a food runner or a server, it's always helpful to ask if the guest needs anything else before walking away. In my case, I had to wait about five minutes just to ask for ketchup. The scrambled eggs and potatoes were well prepared and enjoyable and my spouse was satisfied with their dish except how her lettuce and tomatoes were soggy. Unfortunately the chicken fried chicken was undercooked. At the time I didn't immediately realize this as the texture seemed soft due to the gravy. I have eaten here several times with little issues however todays lunchtime experience left me disappointed. Firstly, the hostess is never in a good mood seemingly. Not very friendly. The waitstaff has always been very friendly however. Today I went with a friend. He wanted a Reuben and I remember having one here that was very good so we decided on going here. He got the Reuben and I got the Sweet Ruth. My fries were not cold or soggy but were dry and warm. My corn beef was plentiful but very chewy and tough. My friends soup was half cold, half hot. He had the same problem with the corned beef on his sandwich. Tough and chewy. We both agreed the bread was also chewy but not in a good way. We did not raise the issues with the restaurant so they weren't given a chance to correct/refund to be fair. Overall it wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. read more

I had heard so much about this place from friends, I had to try it out for myself. I typically don't get to Superior very often, but thought I'd make the trek yesterday for lunch. Doug's did not disappoint. I was surprised to see just one server and one young man in the kitchen, as it was quite crowded. But these two had good service down to a science! The water cups were huge, which was a huge bonus for me - I'm a thirsty guy. The menu showcased some really interesting offerings (like a burger with peanut butter and jelly) but they also had great standard fare as well. The Sharon Omelette was delicious and the griddle biscuits should NOT BE MISSED. I hope this place stays around a long time. I will definitely be back. read more

Only open for breakfast and brunch and it is packed! Huge portion sizes that could easily feed three people separately. The food has been excellent every time I have gone there and for someone like me who prefers lunch food to breakfast food, it is great to have options. Only issue is that it takes a long time to do anything there, order, get your food, pay for your bill, etc. Food makes it worth it but don't come here when you are on a time crunch. read more

The food was okay...I guess what you would expect for an all American order that included biscuits & gravy, 2 over easy eggs, hash browns and bacon just over $12.00. Nothing special, but decent portions. Unfortunately the gravy is without sausage, just gravy, 2 over easy eggs with one runny like water, 4 large pieces of bacon and like at home hash browns. The staff was super friendly and the food was quick to arrive. Now for the view...I really wished they would do something with the interior. One side of the menu is breakfast only! The gravy was thick, an uncomfortable uncooked thick. I wouldn't personally recommend anything with the gravy, though the biscuit and the sausage were great. You could definitely tell the gravy was either reheated, or uncooked just because of how thick it was. My boyfriend ended up actually getting food poisoning from it, I bake consistently and eat a lot of uncooked flour/ rue so it didn't do a lot to me, but definitely did make me sick. End result, really wouldn't recommend. Haven't tried anything else but the two biscuits and gravies, so that's where the hope comes with the first star. Hopefully everything else is good. The service was great though, the lady was patient with me and our food came quickly (but that's where my possibly reheated gravy theory comes in) was it was too soon because it was reheated, and everything else was quickly made?
