Fantastic little local diner. Doug's has the delightful buzz of a real diner and features local, scratch food. A real find! Service was fast and friendly. The perfect balance of attentive without being intrusive. I particularly enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching the bustle of the open kitchen. This is primarily a breakfast and brunch restaurant (as evidenced by the food coming out of the kitchen being predominantly breakfast dishes). I decided to have a burger, though ... and it was great! I had the Black Betty burger, which featured peanut butter, raspberry jam, and green chiles. Sounds strange, but the heat of the chilis with the sweetness of the jam was amazing. Doug's day Diner is fantastic. It's my favorite breakfast spot. The highlights are think cut bacon, biscuits, and sweet toast. The people here are always super friendly. My favorite thing is the Basic 2 eggs, browns, 3 slices of bacon, and a biscuit. But If I'm feeling something sweet, I'll get the Sweet Combo with 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and 4 slices of sweet toast. The Sweet Toast batter is vanilla and orange and it's covered with powdered sugar, what's not to love?? Breakfast is served until they close at 2pm everyday. Great find! Doug's was recommended by the front desk staff at my hotel and did not disappoint, as should be apparent, as I'm back for breakfast second day in a row. Yesterday I had the "Hillbilly," 3 eggs your way with "browns" (shredded potatoes) choice of meat, and a "griddle biscuit" - they put the biscuit on top of the browns and cover the pile with country gravy. Yum. Couldn't quite finish. Today it's the Basic. 2 eggs, browns, choice of meat & toast or biscuit. No gravy this time, so I realized they call them griddle biscuits because they halve them and grill them. Of note: The house made sausage is so good that I wasn't willing to try the other options. Is it the best breakfast in Broomfield? I'll never know, because if I'm close enough to Doug's I won't be trying any others, thank you very much! read more

This place gets four stars but three for service, so I rounded up since I can't give a three and a half. Service was disorganized and nobody seemed to have a defined role, except for the silverware rolling hostess. She was very focused and our silverware was rolled nicely. We watched our food sit on the pick- up shelf, which makes me nuts and just want to grab it myself. Inattentive and aloof waitress. On to the food: it was delicious! My date had the hillbilly with homemade green Chile turkey sausage. He ate every bite and said it was awesome! I ordered a chicken sandwich with bacon and guacamole and a side salad. Maybe it's to much pepper in the gravy that day or the kitchen messing up a small detail, asking for a bacon burrito and getting ham in it too, but nothing that is a deal breaker. Best bacon around and the service here has always been A++. Service is always excellent -- you can tell they actually care about their customers and the food they serve. We usually get breakfast here (everything is great -- there has never been anything we didn't like). The portions are huge and food is always super fresh. I decided last time we were here to try a burger since we normally get breakfast. Again, did not disappoint. Had a to-go order that was placed as a group order for my work. Trying to stay keto and thinking I'd try to keep it cheap I ordered 4 eggs scrambled with cheese on top and a side order of bacon. Food was good but as I asked my buddy how much I owed we looked the receipt and saw a charge of $4 for cheese. It was very little cheese on the eggs and would have never done it if I had known it was $4. The total for my order ended up being $14 ($6 eggs, $4 bacon, and $4 cheese). $4 for what appeared to be sprinkled light cheese is ridiculous. Feels bad. Found this place last minute. Best brunch I've had in a while. I got the ranchers. The country fried steak was cooked to perfection. Hash browns had the perfect crisp to them. Been coming here for a couple months now, mix of breakfast and lunch... sometimes both in a day... it's that good. In my opinion it is simply the best food in the area. Breakfast is amazing - the English muffins, home made jams and thick cut bacon are amazing. For lunch the salads are really well put together with a refreshing ratio of actual "good stuff" to lettuce vs the standard pile of lettuce with a single cherry tomato buried in it somewhere... these salads are hardy, you won't be dissapointed. The sandwiches are big and taste like you'd hope they would - everything fresh and full of flavor. The burgers are huge... awesome selection of unique combinations that are as impressive visually as they are to the taste buds... Best of all is the service. My last 2 visits were less than satisfactory. time before last the waitress only refilled my glass after I called her over and asked to refill it, it had been sitting empty for a while. When I paid with cash I was not offered any change. My waitress, Cheyenne, assumed the change was her tip which was over 20%. She was definitely not very friendly on this visit and did not earn a 20% tip. The last time I was there service was better than the time before but was not as good as my previous visits. And the hash browns were undercooked, crunchy and raw. I felt very unwelcome. I will not be back. read more

Excellent service and breakfast today at Doug's Day Diner. I had read about Doug's several months ago and filed it away as a possibility for breakfast or lunch. Today I popped in for breakfast. The menu was pretty large and varied- I decided upon the breakfast burrito, with turkey green chili sausage. First of all, it was HUGE- I could only eat about half of it. Secondly, both the red and the green chili sauces were yummy (I had ordered Christmas - half and half.) Third, I usually am not a fan of potatoes in my breakfast burritos because they usually overpower everything else. However, at Doug's they are sliced about the size of linguine noodles and fried up so some of them are crispy -- I must say, it was a tasty addition to the dish. Coffee was tasty, service was fast (weekday morning about 7:45am) and friendly. I'll be back for another Breakfast soon! read more

This place is definitely a hidden gem in the Flatiron crossings area. Decided to come on in and try it out. They have amazing options for breakfast and lunch. We went with the green chili burger and oh my! Fresh ingredients and homemade everything wins my heart and stomach. The biscuits were a perfect combo of soft and crisp outer crust.
