Robot server on the go

Had such a fun time at PJ Hot Pot. They offer unlimited hot pot and Korean bbq and you can even do both! The unlimited hot pot had so many options for soup and toppings. I tried the Szechuan spicy and curry soups which were both on the milder side. The spicy level was a lot lower than expected but you can also add sauces to it separately if it's too mild. You can order whichever toppings you want from the server. Then either a human or robot server brings your order to your table! Service was very quick and the robot has a cat face which was very cute. Drinks like boba, tea, and soda, are charged separately and the tea drink we tried was sadly a bit watery. The veggies, meats, and seafood were fresh! I especially enjoyed proteins like the sliced ribeye, sliced lamb, fish roe balls, and bean curd, along with veggies such as the crown daisy, taro, lotus root, and enoki mushrooms. They even offered specialty items like beef aorta, which had a tough, very chewy texture They also had a sauce and side dish bar with pickled cucumber, kimchi, and radish. The side dishes were standard but I enjoyed all the variety of options to make sauces! For dessert they have fruits like oranges, melon, pineapple, and little ice cream cups. Definitely a place to go if you want to have a feast!

New hotpot place in town. I loved dining here. They have tons of options in meat and veggies for the hotpot and bbq. It's a good place for vegetarian as they have protein options like tofu. You could select either hotpot or the bbq or both for an additional $5 per person. You get your individual pot for the hotpot, which is great. They have a separate station for creating our own sauces for the hotpot and bbq. They also had some amazing desserts and ice creams as well. The service was amazing and the place is huge.

The dining area is so big with multiple aisle of seating. For dinner pricing at $31.99, you can pick either Hot Pot or BBQ. OR you can add $5 to enjoy both. Once you order your food, you can head up to the sauce bar to mix up your own sauce. If you have no idea, just look up and they have their sauce recommendation ready for you. As the food is ready, it will get deliver by the beloved Miss Robot Bella. I love the huge selection of option being offer, from sliced meat, seafood, fish ball, soy product, noodles to all kind of vegetables. All the ingredients are fresh and perfectly portion. By the sauce bar, there are a couples appetizer, fruit, and dessert. And don't forget to leave some room for ice cream too. Or some bubble tea.

My first visit to PJ Hotpot was a good experience and one that warrants a return trip! We came for dinner on Tuesday night and there was no wait. There are many tables and the restaurant felt spacious and hip with good lighting. After being seated, a waiter offered us drinks and we put in our order soon after. When I was torn between the Healthy Herbs and the Mushroom broths, the waiter offered to bring me a sample of each to try. The mushroom broth was deliciously complex and savory, so I chose that. My partner got the Sichuan broth and was very pleased with the flavor and spice level. Service was quick and mostly right. We only had one item mix-up when Napa cabbage came out instead of bok choy. Food was delivered by a robot cat waiter, which is a fun novelty, but if there is a mistake, there's no one to tell. However, every ingredient order we placed was delivered to our table quite fast. We were pleased with the quality of the meats, lobster balls, seafood, and dumplings. The vegetables were clean and fresh. The food quality gets two thumbs up from me. Lastly, the sauce bar was well stocked. They had signs for suggested flavor combinations, which I can see being helpful for first timers. In addition to sauces, there was kimchi, pickled vegetables, and edamame available. If you had room after the AYCE hot pot, there were fruits, cakes, and ice cream included on or near the sauce bar, too. I've visited some other hot pot restaurants in Columbus and this is the best so far. The vibe was better, the wait staff was less intense, and the place was cleaner. I would definitely recommend this spot if you're thinking hot pot.

Easy 5 star fun dinner experience. We went for a date night last night and got the barbecue and hot pot. I got the curry base and hubs got the vine pepper. The server did a nice job explaining the menu and giving some suggestions. She checked back regularly and I didn't feel like we went without the whole meal. We got the pork bulgogi, beef bulgogi, brisket, and spicy pork and beef. Lots of veggies for the hot pot and bbq. The buffet area has a lot of sauces and seasonings and a few small starters and desserts. The perfect bite for me was rice, beef bulgogi, onions with yum yum. It was a fun interactive experience and we can't wait to come back!

Dropped in for their Soft Opening for Lunch (614now article hinted they just opened this week) Almost identical experience to K Pot on Bethel with a few additions (shrimp & crawfish available for lunch, few more selections for sides and desserts). The ordering system is the same, although they seem to be experimenting with the ordering robots that Hiro Ramen has- one of our orders arrived by robot. Food was pretty high quality, nothing arrived directly frozen and everything was pretty fresh. Only knock compared to K Pot was perhaps the soups which were a bit less flavorful here. Pretty certain they're still constructing and preparing for their full opening, saw/heard some angle grinder sparks on the other side of the restaurant which was interesting. Overall a good experience, and I'm to see more hot pot places in cbus- hope Pj sticks around!

Overall very great value and service. The interior reminds of some high end Chinese restaurants and the our waitress was super friendly. Even the cleaning staff were super friendly too - came by our table to make sure we get to grab fruit and dessert before they closed for the day. Food is mostly fresh and good quality. We tried both bbq and hotpot and were happy with them. I do wish the marinade meat can taste more like Korean flavor, but still very impressed overall. Will definitely be back with friends.

Tried it for my son's 13th birthday and we really liked the whole experience. We drove from 2.5 hrs away to shop and eat here. We had fun trying new things and our server was very nice and helpful. They sang to my son for his birthday and gave us a little Keychain as a gift which he really liked. We loved the cat robot servers. The miso broth and beef bulgogi were really good. We paid $5 extra to do the BBQ as well. Definitely not cheap, but fun for special occasions.

PJ Hot Pot will quickly be one of our favorites! For the Hot Pot you pick a soup base and then any of the unlimited ingredients. There is also a sauce, garnish, and dessert bar. This will be my go to place to celebrate with friends and family!

This food was great. Definitely get the get the Hot Pot and the Barbecue, just an additional 5 dollars. We ordered one of just about every meat and could barely eat it all. If you do get the hotpot just be aware of what base you get cause of course the meat is not season so if you get something light like miso and cook in it there will be no flavor on what you put in it. Our server was great, he helped out with choices and cooking at the end. Overall very good experience and definitely would go back again.

We went tonight to Mala Hot Pot in Hilliard for the second time. The first time we went was about…read moreone month ago to try their hot pot, a concept my husband, adult daughter and I had heard about but had never tried. We were surprised to discover that despite the name of the place, they no longer served hot pot due to new owners, and they were primarily a dim sum restaurant now. As we happen to like dim sum, we were not deterred and sat down to have one of the more enjoyable dining experiences we've had in quite a while. The menu was quite extensive and contained pictures and short descriptions of each dim sum. There were also a very few entree-type items to choose from, as well as noodles. Be warned that rice is not provided with these entrees, so if you want some you need to order and pay for it as a side. Nevertheless we thought each item we ordered was delicious, from the egg custard to the sesame lotus balls, to the dumplings, as well as the Dan-Dan noodles, the Ma-Po tofu, and the Szechwan chicken. Since everything is a la carte, the restaurant can be a little expensive, based on your appetite and number of people in your group, but we declared it one of our new favorite Asian restaurants. What a difference a month makes... We returned for our second visit, only to find that the restaurant was now a hot pot place again! We were handed a menu that contained the hot pot information, and at least still had an abbreviated list of dim sum appetizers, though some of the ones we had enjoyed on our first visit were gone. They also had a one page sheet labeled "old-fashioned menu" that listed some odd dishes, not odd as in authentic Chinese dishes but just dishes we'd never heard of on a Chinese menu, like salmon filet and flank steak, but also one recognizable listing for kung Pao chicken. Just weird. So we ordered sesame lotus balls, barbecue pork buns, noodles and the Ma-Po tofu again, all good but we missed the expanded dim sum menu from our first visit. Frankly, this place seems very confused as to its identity and we wonder what it will be serving if we chanced a third visit. If we decided we wanted to try hot pot, would they have dropped it again? Will they totally have stopped serving any dim sum next time? Will all Chinese entrees be gone also? I don't think we want to be that adventurous. We'd rather have some idea what style of cuisine we're going to have before we walk in the door of a restaurant. Sorry, Mala Hot Pot. It was a promising start but a sad and abrupt ending.

It was not crowded when we arrived around 2 pm, but apparently they just recovered from a huge opening rush that had people waiting to be seated. On one side of the restaurant there's hot pot tables (burner in the middle for your broth), and the other side is regular wooden table for people that want regular dishes and/or dim sum only. We got seated right away at a hot pot table because we wanted to get stuff from both menus. There daily dim sum offering is on a separate paper menu that you mark down how many servings you want of whatever tickles your fancy. Our server Kwan was fantastic! This was my parents first time for hot pot, and he did a great job explaining the process, what the sauce bar was all about, and how to order from their dim sum menu. We picked their mushroom broth, which I liked. For protein, we got the Supreme Beef & Lamb Combo for hot pot. Meats were displayed on a separate board (beef on one end, lamb opposite). Loved the assortment of veggies that come along; also liked that those veggies are served separately from the meat so it makes it easier to pick and choose what you want to eat. It was a super fun experience. I've done hot pot one other time many years ago, and I would make the same one suggestion for here, too: Wish there were dividers given to put in the broth to make it easier to ascertain which items are yours after dropping them in the liquid; it's hard to keep an eye on your very-thin beef shaves because it sinks before floating and easily gets pushed and mixed around. The dim sum was absolutely delicious! I got a few of the same things I got on my last (1st) visit, and shared a few new dishes. Their Black Truffle Siu Mai were excellent! Fantastic mushroom flavor, and each were big and filling. I highly recommend those, mmmm. Also loved the Crispy Minced Pork Dumplings! A thin fried outside around a bao-like wrapping, with minced pork and I think Kwan said mushrooms. I think Coco's is a new favorite. Their menus are full with a lot of flavors and dishes to pick from. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. There's plenty of free parking, and in my experiences, staff are friendly helpful and efficient. I'll definitely be returning to try more!

Seriously those wontons are one of the best things in the whole city. They're SO good I could eat a few orders of those alone and be happy. Egg rolls are nice, but just a simple egg roll. Nicely crispy and tasty with the spicy mustard. The Sichuan sliced beef was the perfect thing for a chilly rainy dinner. We love spicy so I'm a bad judge of heat level, but this is spicy but a numbing spicy. Lovely spooned over steamed rice. The cabbage and bean sprouts were my favorite bits in this dish because they added a crunch. Might ask for extra next time!

From what I know, malatang restaurants usually have open coolers where you can choose most of your ingredients and they charge by weight. The set malatang combos do seem like a much better deal, but the combos didn't appeal to me personally. The malatang itself was very delicious. The broth was very cloudy, perfect for a bone broth. The portion size was massive, possibly the biggest bowl of soup I've had in Columbus, and it was absolutely full of the ingredients I chose (lamb, lotus root, crown daisy, enoki mushrooms, two kinds of tofu, bean noodles). I chose the 'regular spicy' option but didn't find it spicy at all. The employees were happy to bring out a huge bowl of good quality chili oil for me to add, and it really made the dish. To be honest, I probably wont get malatang here again since it's so expensive, I'll wait for a restaurant that specializes only in malatang (I'll be on the lookout in NYC and Tokyo soon). But, I'm very interested in coming back to try their other dishes, since this one was such high quality. Bathroom was a bit shabby but the food is good enough that that doesn't matter.
