Daily Harvest Cafe - The Timothy "Earl of Sandwich" Melt

Today started as a heavy one. My family and I were remembering my father-in-law on the anniversary…read moreof his passing, and after leaving the cemetery with our daughters and our granddaughter, we wanted to go somewhere simple and warm where we could keep talking and just be together. My younger daughter suggested Daily Harvest Cafe in Danvers, and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. Inside, the girls ordered coffee, my granddaughter happily went straight for an M&M cookie, and my younger daughter told me I had to try something called the "Fluff Bucket," which she said had gone viral on TikTok. I am a lifelong fluff fanatic, so there was no chance I was passing that up. When I went up to the counter, I was greeted by the warmest, kindest woman with the brightest smile. I told her I had just heard about the Fluff Bucket and that as a serious fluff lover I had to try it. She laughed and said she would make one for me right away. I had no idea at the time that she was the owner. I just knew she was someone who made me feel genuinely welcome in a moment when that meant more than she could possibly know. And let me tell you, the Fluff Bucket absolutely lived up to the hype. Smooth, creamy, perfectly sweet and sticky, blended with espresso, topped with fluff and mini marshmallows... it was like a dessert and a coffee had a beautiful, indulgent baby. Pure comfort in a cup. When I brought it back to the table, both of my daughters immediately said, "So you got one? You're going to love it." My younger daughter then told me that the woman I had been chatting with was actually the owner. That made the experience even more special. Her warmth, her kindness, and that simple human moment of being greeted with a smile on a difficult morning stayed with me as much as the drink itself. We ended up lingering longer than we planned. My granddaughter enjoyed a grilled cheese after her cookie, and I grabbed a bag of raspberry-filled shortbread cookies that instantly reminded me of hamantaschen around Purim. Everything felt thoughtful, comforting, and made with care. Daily Harvest Cafe was not just a place to grab coffee today. It was a place that helped turn a solemn morning into one with a few smiles, some sweetness, and a feeling of being looked after. I will absolutely be back, and I cannot recommend it enough. If you go, get the Fluff Bucket, and know that you are walking into a place run by someone who truly knows how to make people feel welcome.

It gave me time to sit in their beautiful sunlit window and look around at how nicely the cafe was decorated. The cafe was clean and of course most importantly my espresso was smooth and delicious. I can only imagine that the food is just as good.

I was in the area on business so i decided to try Danvers Pizza and Subs. Husband has celiac and I…read moream lactose intolerant so the menu containing gluten free pizzas, apps, subs and calzones really caught our attention! I had a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese, green pepper and extra sauce. The pizza was good. The crust is great and the vegan cheese they use is good too. My only issue was that there was only a very thin layer of sauce - even with me ordering it with extra sauce. It needed a lot more sauce. The huz got a cheesy crust/stuffed crust style pizza with sausage and pepperoni. After actually not recommending i order this pizza, the guy explained that they take their gluten free calzone dough and use it to make the pizza so they can fold the edge over to contain cheese. It is a different dough/crust than they use for just a regular gluten free pizza. He also stated they did a well-done bake on this dough because it needs it. He also explained that they have separate prep areas for the GF pizzas. We appreciated that they are mindful of this and knowledgeable about their product in this manner. Its funny that I had to talk him into letting me order this pizza. He expressed fear about bad reviews. I explained we are a household used to GF items and its not a problem. Im happy to report that the pizza was very good. He had nothing to worry about with us. Also, when i tell you that the gluten free onion rings were AMAZING, believe me. These were some of the best onion rings ive ever had - gluten free or conventional!! Lastly, I also had a small meatball sub with a regular/conventional roll. This was also good. Overall great menu of conventional and gluten free pizza and subshop items. Gluten free items always cost more so a higher purchase total was expected. The only thing that i would say was unexpectedly pricey was the small conventional meatball sub coming in at $15. That said, loving the wide range of gluten free options and will be back when im in the area again.

Lovely Cafe. The interior looks newly update with banquette seating along the front window wall,…read morebooths along the end wall, bar seating overlooking the open kitchen and tables in between. There are even a couple of bistro tables outside on the sidewalk. So you have choices. We arrived just after noon time and the place was packed. Our waitress provided both breakfast and lunch menus. Their coffee and espresso is made with Lavazza beans, which I love, and even though I wasn't sure if I wanted breakfast or lunch, I got a coffee. Mmmm. Cream was served in a small pitcher/creamer with my coffee. I was offered refills on coffee multiple times during our visit. I also asked if they have maple syrup or just pancake syrup. They have the real deal, just ask. Pancake syrup, s&p, sweeteners and ketchup are on the table. I ordered a Greek Salad and added tuna salad on top for a bit more protien. The salad came with warm, fluffy pita bread and dressing on the side. This salad is quite big. Definitely enough to share and everything was very fresh. My travel buddy got the ultimate grilled cheese which is a big sandwich. Bacon, tomato and lots of cheeses on sour dough. The onion rings are an upcharge (says that on the menu) and from the taste, I wonder if they use a sweet onion like Walla Walla. The tempura batter by itself is not sweet, so it must be the type of onion they use. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive checking in on us throughout our visit. She chatted with several customers as if everyone is a 'regular'. Every staff member we encountered was smiling and friendly. Restrooms are located in a hallway, behind a clearly marked door, off the dining room. They are updated and very clean. Located in a strip mall style building they share parking with the other businesses in front and back of the building. I honestly did not notice if a handicapped spot was near the entrance, but there is at least one in the lot. At less than twenty dollars per person, this was an all together, very good lunch stop.
