I went in to order a mini pizza. Counterperson took my order for a sausage and Canadian bacon mini pizza. I asked for regular thick crust. What I got was a misshapen piece of cardboard with 5 tiny bits of sausage and 3 crispy pieces of bacon. When it was delivered it was thrown down without as much as here you are sir. The service is always fast friendly and amazing customer service. We love our Santa Clara Pizza Man Dan staff! The food quality is always top notch also and we definitely appreciate the consistency. Came in today to try the pizza burger for $5 Diffenently not blown away. Nor was it best burger and no it did not taste anything like a pizza in anyways. KETO OPTION for Pizza?!? I'LL TAKE IT! When in full ketosis, keto players can't really enjoy traditional pizza sadly. Knocks you right out of the zone with one bite! So if you enjoy pizza like I do, had to have avoided it like it was symptomatic with COVID-19... until I discovered PMD (Pizza Man Dan's)! Oh YEAH! Their new Oxnard location is cool (the old "Pirate's Grub & Grog site) and easier parking compared to previous location, due to less competing restaurants. Staff was friendly during our visit. Well... let's eat! NO DOUGH PIZZA (or no bread crust pizza): This option comes in INDIVIDUAL size only, and you are limited to 3-4 toppings, depending on what the toppings are. So not all specialty pies can be ordered but I was able to get The Philly Pie and Pesto Pollo. For The Pesto Pollo, I requested to not add tomatoes & onions, but they still added tomatoes. I'll fault that to the glass barrier & masks hindering communication lol! Just a lil bit of work to take a the tomatoes off. So basically the cheese serves as "crust." Bell Peppers are keto friendly, and of course chicken, bacon and cheese are, so a solid keto friendly pie. Probably nets around 4 carbs. Pretty small though, good for small appetites or those preferring small meals. Tasty stuff, slightly greasy, but not as greasy as the Philly Pie. The Philly Pie had Philly steak, mushrooms and bell peppers, minus the onions, probably nets about 4-5 carbs. Definitely more noticeably greasy, but still pretty good eats. Better to eat this one fresh out of the oven, rather than wait to eat at home. I'd probably just go with chicken next time around to avoid the greasiness of this pie. Solid option to consider for those doing a Keto diet. Avoid all veggies to keep it as keto as possible. Also, any greasy meat will be make the "No Dough" pies considerably more viscous as there is no bread crust for absorption. Don't say I didn't warn ya! ;) Enjoy! SYOY! read more

If i had to describe this place in three words I would choose unprofessional, greedy, and inconsiderate. First off, the place had asked for a tip before even getting our food, and i tipped $4. I sat down for dine in, expecting to receive the pizza by the servers, as in other restaurants, instead i was surprised when i heard my name being called to pick it up. The dish was hot so i burned myself. After 45 minutes, my family was hungry so I ordered a pizza from Papa John's.Both of these places are super close to my home.Then I immediately called Pizza Man Dan's to cancel the pizza order that never came and the guy I spoke to was so unapologetic, rude and just argued with me about the whole situation. I really wanted to give PizzaMan Dan's another try after our bad experiences @ Santa Clara location, so I've ordered from this location twice now and both times were really good! The first time I went in to pick up the pizza and the employees were all really friendly and the pizza was delicious. The second time my husband went in and got the pizzas, again our order was correct here and the pizzas were delicious! They also recently got vegan cheese although I haven't tried that yet, I usually just get a cheeseless pizza with all the veggies. It's a really good pizza place especially if you want something else than the regular fast food pizza places. The service was simple and quick, got our delicious pizza quickly. The salad bar is also pretty cool. I liked the ambiance of the place as well, it reminds me of a 90s or 80s vibe. Back when restaurants had an old timey feeling. What a miserable experience the booths were dirty so, we cleaned it ourselves, the salad bar was tidy and had a nice selection. When I asked for a cup to put my dressing in I was told that I had to pay for it. I was told that I needed to put my dressing on my salad. When I explained why I wanted a small cup the lady (manager?) was very rude and frankly ruined my appetite. I tried to eat and was so upset I just wanted to get out of there. I don't regularly write reviews, however, I feel that the customer service that I've received from this establishment has been merited recognition above a simple thank you. I am familiar with local pizza establishments that are not run in a franchise (i.e Toppers, Zappareli's) and many of these pizza restaurants bring forth a unique and personal experience between the establishment and the guests. In my experience, I have been treated with nothing but utmost respect from the employees and have seen the owners working diligently to improve the customer experience from feedback of guests. Of all the dozens of times I've visited Pizzaman Dan's on Victoria, I've never felt unsatisfied with my experience. The food is always excellent and the customer service is outstanding. PizzaMan Dan's is by far our favorite pizza around. It's super high quality ingredients and toppings that fill the entire pie make it my favorite. We've been fans since Dan's days as an owner of Rusty's pizza and since then we have tried every since specialty pizza on the the menu! Our favorite, although not on the menu any longer, was the Taco Pizza. The PizzaMan special is our next favorite! (add bell peppers, no anchovies please!) The call center is very efficient, able to take orders for multiple locations and the people at every location that we've been to have always been friendly and helpful. I will never go back to PMD on Victoria/Ralston in Ventura. Their salad bar was a mess and I had to keep asking for them to restock it. The worker with short dyed blond hair and glasses was not friendly as she walked around the seating area telling customers not to make a mess at the salad bar and repeating that the ranch was not free. When a customer said they didn't know and offered to pay for ranch. she rudely said, didn't you see the signs, they are posted everywhere?! The customer was so embarrassed and ultimately packed up his food and left. I found this very rude, uncomfortable, and unprofessional and I will not be dining here anymore. Their pizza ingredients are not the highest quality for them to be running their customers away over a measly little cup of ranch dressing. During Covid, this company started the "carry out special" Where you could get a large pizza for $9.99. During hard times when we were shut down at our businesses and couldn't work, things get tight and Pizza Man Dan was always there to help. The fact that they continue that special to this day is just amazing. We appreciate them being there for us when times were tough and now that times are much easier, we are so happy to support them and we use them as much as we can for family gatherings, and business luncheons. The chicken wings were not crispy and drenched in Buffalo sauce, I had to microwave them just to get them edible. My wife's Margarita Pizza was not what you would expect from a Margarita Pizza! Very little if any cheese, not cooked thoroughly! The chicken wings came with bottled Ranch Dressing! Yuck! My Meatsa Pizza was ok, but nothing like any where else! Marginal at best! Pizza Man Dan sends me coupons so Dan is, indeed, the man. Other things I like about this place: 1. The name. Sound play, memory aids. 2. I like locally-grown businesses; not huge, soul- and neighborhood-gobbling chains like, say, Papa John's. 3. Their delivery Corvette. It's brave. My son places orders on-line. He reads my options. "You want basil? Bell pepper? Red onion? Tomato sauce--" "Tomato sauce? Of course I want tomato sauce. What kind of question is that?" "Thin crust?" "I prefer thinner crust. It reminds me of when I lived in France," I tell him. "Much better pizza than in Italy..." I drift into my reminiscences. Those food trucks. More like traveling restaurants. In France and its territories you often get plastic seats and tables set on the cobblestones or strips of grass. Wood-burning ovens, a spicy olive oil in glass bottles. That's the shape of love in some families. But damned if I'll square-cut my pizza. The pizza boxes make good time and the individual size is perfect for me. My son is nearly 6'3'' so he gets a large. Hot. Steam billows when we lift the top. Amazing how green pepper smells, isn't it? They should make that scent into a candle. I ordered thin crust so maybe it's my fault the edges are crispy black.
