This place is such a gem in Oxnard! I am so happy me and my wife found this place! This has become my favorite place to order pizza from. Decided to try their wings and tho it h i enjoy my wings fried a littler harder, I did enjoy the flavor! My wife LOVED the calzone! Recently moved to Ventura county and have been on an exhaustive pizza search--and finally hit paydirt. Uptown pizza is fantastically good. Don't let the very clean but spartan appearance fool you. It was difficult to choose from the extensive menu, but my wife and I went with the lunch special of two individual pizzas and two salads for a very reasonable price. And not just any old pizza, any GOURMET pizza from the menu, and any of the variety of salads available. The pizza offerings are unique combination, creating surprising (surprisingly GREAT), flavor profiles. I had the Garden Sausage, consisting of Uptown Classic Sauce, Mozzarella, Onions, Mushrooms, Marinated Artichokes, Tomatoes & House Made Sausage. The real standout was the excellent sausage, flavorful with the the right amount of kick. But it was the quality of every ingredient, and how they blended that made it so delicious. Even the crust is special, tasting more like a bakery bread than simple dough, including the crust studded with what I guess is sesame seeds. It's definitely an elevated pizza. Although I am a traditional New York pizza kind of guy, the quality and taste had both my wife and I moaning with pleasure after every bite--it was that good. My wife had the Spinach and Feta pizza: Pesto Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Fresh Spinach, Onions, Black Olives, Marinated Artichokes, Roma Tomatoes, Topped with Feta Cheese & Oregano. Again, not traditional, but equally scrumptious. The salads (Garden for me, and Greek for my wife) were individually hand prepared with excellent dressing. Because everything is hand prepared, it does take a long time to receive the food, but so well worth the wait. Call ahead if you are pressed for time. The place looked pretty clean and I liked how there was seating inside and outside. We ordered a medium cheese pizza with a cesar salad and both were delicious. The ranch was also good and I got to say I know it sounds like the most simplest thing to make pizza and ranch being good at the same restaurant but I've seen so many that don't know how to pair a good pizza with ranch or vice versa. We originally were trying to find a decent place to eat since the restaurant that we went to around the corner had terrible food we ended up taking the food back to our room and we tried eating it but it honestly just wasn't good so we ended up just throwing in the trash and went back out to go look for good food.
