We tried the pancakes (perfectly fluffy), the chicken and waffles (the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and a delicious crunch as well on the Parmesan crust), and the Eggs Benedict (well executed, and I intend to explore their three other variations when I go back) Finally, the price was reasonable for everything, and frankly cheaper than I expected for the quality of food and service. There are many restaurants competing for attention and business at Immigrant Son Caffe's price point and, having been to many of them, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Worst breakfast sandwich I've ever had the displeasure of paying for. I took about two or three bites before i gave up and tossed the bread aside just to eat the eggs. seasoning on the eggs was decent but the eggs were overcooked and browned. overall composition of the dish was so half assed i paid 20$ for something my 10 year old niece could have made at home in about 5 minutes. I thought about complaining and asking for something else but I was so hungry coming into the restaurant i just wanted to eat something. After finishing the eggs i regretted my decision because no way i paid 20$ just to eat some poorly made scrambled eggs and about one crumbled up jimmy dean sausage. By then i felt like asking for something else was too late because i had already eaten most of the food. Then the server came by and asked the usual "hows everything tasting?" Pointed at my girlfriend's dish and said "good right?" but rather than actually stopping at our table and addressing us with genuine interest he had said all this without even stopping and walked away. he didnt even give me a chance to express my disappointment. My girlfriend didnt even realize he passed by and said anything. Literally a drive by table touch. After that exchange i was so upset that i pushed my plate aside and just wanted to leave but my girlfriend was still eating so i sat there stewing with anger and dissatisfaction. Ive worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. The server had multiple opportunities to address clear signals i was unhappy with my visit but he was dismissive and uninterested. I of course could have spoken out and said something but i was so upset i had immediately written this place off and decided that i wanted to just leave and never come back. (Also it wasnt until after we left my girlfriend had told me her pasta was also lacking salt and was pretty bland.) Bad on the chef for putting such a sad breakfast sandwich on the menu Bad on the server for inattentive service Bad on the line cooks for not seasoning the pasta or tasting the sauce before sending out and also for probably not executing the dishes properly. Im unsure of the quality of the rest of the menu but for those still reading, Please please STAY AWAY from that sad sad breakfast "sandwich". The ambiance of the beach nearby is pleasant. A lot of the menu items are found through scanning a QR code in your phone to prevent users from looking at a paper menu. My husband ordered The California (eggs, bacon, and pancakes). This breakfast also comes with toast and your choice of potatoes. We upgraded to the chili cheese tots, thinking it was just a small upcharge from the standard side, and didn't realize until we got back to the hotel that we were charged $8 for them, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the tots were tasty (just eat them quickly because they cool off fast!). His eggs were cooked perfectly, but the $3.50 upcharge to add blueberries to the pancakes felt steep, and the bacon was mostly fat and a bit overcooked. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros with poached eggs, and the eggs were absolutely perfect. The dish was bursting with flavor.
