Came here during a staycation trip through Bloomington this past week. I can totally say the food and service were great. They offer a variety of options and ways to save. For example, most of our family got the X deal, which features a small personal pizza and drink. Really great deal for what we were looking for. Sadly, I could have saved more money if I had realized that Crimson Cards were accepted before paying. Inside the building is pretty small, but enough seating for a smaller family. Funny enough, it reminded me a lot of Hot Box in a way, with the cups and tootsie rolls. One thing I did notice, was not a whole lot of drink options. They were equipped with one soda fountain that had coke products. My nephew is the one off that doesn't like soda or carbonated drinks to begin with, sadly that's all they had. No lemonade or Gatorade for younger kids. Other than that, I can happily say I would visit again! read more

I thought this was just a cheap late night pizza place, but I will try most things once, and boy did my Pizza X order exceed expectations. I ordered a custom 10" pizza from them with vegan cheese, Impossible meatballs, and vegetables. The pizza tasted great and wasn't too salty or too greasy, which are the most common takeout pizza crimes. The crust was perfectly cooked. I got to the store a few minutes before my order was supposed to be ready (the estimate was 10-20 minutes for pickup) and it was just about to come out of the oven as I got there, so it was fresh and hot when I got it. The person there who gave me my order was very friendly. I would definitely order Pizza X again! Note that it's takeout only - there's no tables. read more

It was a busy night but good lord. We got a text that our pizza was ready and showed up 5 minutes later. While we were in the store, three other people came in and their orders had been lost. And of course we find out so was ours. Even after we gave our name they said sure, sure, we got it but then admitted that they didn't 10 minutes later while we were waiting. They apologized but there seems to be a problem in general with pulling something together that should take 11 minutes start to finish. When a pizza is ordered at 9:40 and still isn't ready by 11:15, you have a problem. But more importantly, when you realize you screwed up, you rush that pizza instead of continuing to make other pizzas. Basic restauranting. read more

I ordered on the app and despite many previous positive experiences, I had called due to a general question about wait times because the app has sometimes given me the wrong estimate. So I called in and just asked the general question on when an estimated delivery time would be because the app has been wrong in the past and one of the female workers there Answered and was very rude and hostile towards my question even looking at my number in the order when I had just asked a question pertaining to general wait times nothing about my order in particular. This is very disappointing from the previous good service that I've known in the past Edit: the app gave me an hour estimate and it arrived in 20 minutes. That's why I tend to call. read more

I've ate Pizza Ex pizzas for quite a while but lately there have been a lot of mistakes. I dont like to Callan complain but this time I was unable to eat my pizza. I ordered 2 different pizzas with extras. My husband like them one way and I like them another way. All his extras were added to my pizza which included extra-extra sauce. When I called to explain i talked to 2 people then finally the manager. After explaining to him he said "well thats not whet you told them(the last person). I said it's exactly what I told her and im looking at the app and that is exactly what I ordered. He replied "well the best I can do is give you a $5 credit". My reply, " you can give me a $5 credit on a $43 order? That's not acceptable. I paid $43 and I can't eat what you sent" He finally replaced my half of the order but not my husband's. Whenthe delivery hill brought the replacement and she showed me what they saw of my order. I dont appreciate being g called a liar or being lied to. They lost my business. Mother Bears will be my go to from now on read more

At the wee hours of the night I was hungry enough to eat a whole pizza (PizzaX is open until like 3 or 4 AM). I ordered online and the pizza was ready in about 20 minutes. A lot of the other pizza places I've been to in Bloomington have something weird going on with the crust, but thankfully I didn't have that issue here! I got the Ragin' Cajun and it was really good! The sauce was spicy and there was plenty of toppings. It was a little pricy but I still feel like I got my money's worth. If you want a sauce though, pass on the garlic sauce, it didn't really taste like anything and costs extra. read more

Oh how I miss Pizza X! I used to get this pizza all the time in college, and I HAD to get some when I stopped by for a quick visit. The pizza is just as delicious as I remember, and don't even get me started with the breadsticks and cheese sauce.... sooooo good. The big x bargain is truly one of the best inventions of our time. I hope this place never changes and brings joy to students for years to come! read more

Pizza X - a pizza in a box with toppings - Pizza Near Me - Bloomington, Indiana

Let me begin by saying this is an incredible establishment in one of the greatest college towns in America. Now, for the review. I am an avid Pizza X connoisseur. Mrs. Hanis and I have enjoyed Pizza X over our first year living in Bloomington, Indiana. This pizza was fantastic. The crust crisp. The chicken filled with protein. The buffalo sauce hot. I will ALWAYS and FOREVER LOVE this Pizza X location. Throughout this year, it brought me friendships and comfort that I will forever be grateful for. It's not a goodbye. It's a I'll see you later. Until we meet again. That is all. -Dan Hanis read more

We really like Pizza X! They always have good deals and help us out. Last time I made a mistake by calling the one furthest from my house and when I went to the one I thought I called (the closest one), turns out I called the wrong place. They offered to fix all of our food in 10 minutes and that it was no issue. They were so kind even though it was my mess up! read more

It took an hour to deliver my pizza when my address was 3 minutes away. When I called the restaurant, the lady who answered the phone was agitated that I was calling and made it seem like I was inconveniencing her. Her customer service was horrible and she should honestly never pick up the phone again. Instead of getting mad at me, maybe she can offer some sort of refund or discount for next time. I said nothing rude to her and simply asked when my pizza would arrive, because again, I'm literally a three minute drive from the house and it took an hour to get my food. read more

I was just there tonight to pick up a pizza and that will be the last time I go when you order a pizza You expect to be met with friendly service and friendly staff. You're not expecting to be met with conversations from a manager there and a manager at roly-poly sandwiches discussing human beings that live behind the building and the quality of these human beings. I'm not gonna get into too much detail but The disrespect and disregard for other people who may be going through something in life may have challenges that none of your staff have ever faced was appalling to me. I have never written a review or submitted any type of feedback for any business here in town and I've lived here for 24 years But what I overheard tonight while waiting to get my pizza there are simply no words as to how your staff viewed other human beings, I know quite a few influential people here in Bloomington. I'm not going to talk about this further or make any type of scene. I just wanted to bring this to your attention And inform you that if those are the staff that you're hiring then is there anything left to be said about the owners if you want to reach out to me directly that's perfectly fine. I would be more than happy to talk to you. I'm not an individual that's gonna shy away from this. My number is 812-219-6019. read more

Very good with plenty of toppings! They even threw in some candy on the side. We started ordering from them after being disappointed with another pizza place that was super skimpy on toppings. So glad we made the switch! read more

Cool concept. Love the brand, atmosphere, building, menu, etc. Unfortunately I didn't like my plain cheese pizza. The traditional crust had way too much bread, and there was a lot of grease on the cheese. I got sick from the pizza the day of, and the morning after when I decided to have a slice for breakfast. The cookies were good though. I look forward to giving Pizza X another shot and ordering the right food next time. read more

My wife is an IU alumna from 1995 and has good memories of Pizza X (pizza express back in those days). This is the perfect pizza delivery for drunk people, especially college kids. The pizza is good, but not great. The same is true of the breadsticks, which come with a dipping sauce of your choice - the wife insists on the garlic butter sauce. Most recently, we ordered the Big X Special late at night and there was a delivery error- we got our pizza and the wrong order and were told to keep both. Can't complain about that kind of error. Both pizzas were good for post Lotus Festival meal. read more

Keeps up with the Covid restrictions and keeps business going at a great rate even with the limitations. Ever since going to IU Pizza X has been my favourite place to go. The pizza is amazing. The employees are always great too. read more

My favorite pizza ever. I'm the biggest Pizza X fan, not only is it delicious and affordable, but it also brings me good memories when it's around. I'm missing the cheese pizza and nacho cheese. Can't wait to get back to Bloomington to eat a whole pizza by myself! read more

They said they couldnt deliver to my parents address anymore because the delivery driver was stiffed. Which isnt true. I was the one who payed with 2 $20 bills and got $11 in change back. How could I get change back when he counted it in front of me it obviously wasnt only $9 I gave him. Just ridiculous and the customer service is crap they are always rude because my mom likes her pizza a specific way and this is the only pizza she eats so when she calls to tell them they are always rude to her. read more

I was hooked on this place since the first time I ordered. Got a simple 1 topping the first time, but tasted the specials and can't go back. Chain pizza is nothing to this! Meat lovers go ahead and order the Porky Pie, you won't regret it! read more

Pizza X is reliable and a great value (there is definitely an added taste bonus if you are someone who associates it with nostalgia/college memories). I highly recommend ordering pizza from them over any big pizza chain, especially if you are serving a crowd or are in the mood for classic/basic pizza. (They do have specialty pizzas...that are maybe good, but I haven't tried them! ) Unlike a box chain they are local, the quality is better, the price is very comparable, and their delivery services covers lots of ground (something we've learned during quarantine ). I usually go for a cheese pizza and breadsticks. I really like their breadsticks - in all their salty, misshaped glory. If you're a true midwesterner ranch and nacho cheese are the way to go for dipping sauces. But if you are just getting one sauce, definitely go with the ranch. When we get Pizza X we go big with the Big X Bargain: large pizza, order of breadsticks + sauce, and two drinks for $14.99. Also they are now selling Baked Cookies, several different kinds, by the cookie - so basically if you are looking for a cheap and tasty weekend/weekday spread - Pizza X is your one stop shop! read more

What could be better than pizza delivered fast, hot, & with tootsie rolls?....the best cheese sticks in town! No one else comes close to the perfect mixture of cheese and seasoning on chewy dough. Pizza X may not have the best pizza in town, but it's good, and the cheese sticks are the deciding factor at my house. Delivery is so fast- 20 minutes! I love their mobile ordering system with updates on delivery. read more

This was my favorite pizza joint in town but the manager and his less then professional attitude just killed it for me ! We order 2 pizza's a week easily for the past 5 years. Same damn pizzas! But I can't get over him telling me to go to another Pizza place because I asked to chop my onions!!! He said there are other pizza places in town that would do that for me .They don't do that there, company policy and all. Great costumer service! And yes, Mother bears chopped my onions. read more

This pizza is good. Thin crust is especially great. The last several pizzas I've ordered from the north side store have been phenomenal and were delivered so quickly I didn't think the knock at the door was already the pizza. I thought it was the cops. Perfectly proportioned toppings and cheeses, well distributed throughout the pie. Good stuff. I wish I had a photo of the pizza to share, but we were hungry and it was good pizza. read more

Definitely not the best pizza in town, but it's -fantastic- for the price and speed. Very good for the college student on a budget. I mean, you can basically pay $10 for a large pizza, a billion (okay, that's hyperbole -- 10?) breadsticks, and two drinks. My favorite thing about them, though, is still calling them at midnight, them saying they'll have the pizza to you in "about an hour" and then at 12:05 AM getting a call saying they're already waiting on you. read more

They are full of lies. I ordered a pizza at 1:20AM and was told it would take 35 minutes. It's been two hours and my pizza is still not here. Im very hurt and disappointed. Will not be ordering again for a very long time. read more

As far as college pizza and breadsticks go, this place was far and away my favorite. Although the prices have gone up since I left (e.g. the "Big 10" is no longer $10), I'm sure it's right along in line with inflation. The pizza I remember is definitely superior to Domino's. The ingredients were fresher and better quality. Unique and non-traditional? Definitely. Another local business that would absolutely recommended to those still in school and has been missed greatly since my college days. read more

Great stuff, but hurts my stomach too much. Cheesy bread with ranch highly recommended

Let me start off by saying that I am NOT the kind of person who watches their sodium intake. I eat what I like, and I like salty food. I've even eaten an entire jar of pickles in one sitting (no, I was not pregnant). With that being said... HOLY CRAP do not get Pizza X's new buffalo sauce on your pizza. It is seriously like drinking a bottle of, well, buffalo sauce. We specifically asked while ordering whether it would be obscenely salty, and the employee said, no, not salty. But it's really "spicy." We decided to try it. Papa Johns or somewhere used to have a really amazing buffalo chicken pizza, and we were trying to re-create it. Key difference: at PJ's, the buffalo sauce was *extra*, in addition to regular sauce. Of course, we get home, and the pizza is borderline too salty for consumption (upside: portion control! I'm stopping at two slices, not out of self-restraint, but because it kind of feels like my teeth and tongue are going to fall out. FROM SALT, not "spice"). Anyway, don't make the same mistake I did. Three stars because Pizza X is fine overall and I've eaten there many times over the years. Never thought it was a great value for the money, but it's good pizza. Just not with buffalo sauce. read more

Pizza X thrives in their niche. They are perfect for a college town, the breadsticks are incredible, and there is nothing better than Pizza X late at night. That being said they are not necessarily the best restaurant for an afternoon meal, while it is not the worst, but what they thrive at is their reliability at essentially anytime you would ever need them. read more

Pizza X is the best late night food option in Bloomington. They are fast and affordable and not to mention, delicious! Nothing compares to their cheesy bread. Absolute fastest delivery I've ever experienced. I was staying in Bloomington at an Inn and decided to order here for delivery. I saw they had a lot of locations around and knew it must be really popular with the IU students so I thought I'd give it a try. Yelp reviews praised fast delivery and I can say I was NOT disappointed. If you're hungry RIGHT NOW, call these guys up. Quality food in less than 20 mins. Small store on 10th St., not much space to dine in, usually order before and take out in store, they close very late, so if you want late night bite, you could come to get a small pizza, their pizzas are very tasty but don't have many choices compared to mother bears, but still enough for pizza eaters^^ read more

This place has the best pizza and breadsticks! One of the many memories I have from Bloomington! I can't even begin to count how many Pizza X plastic cups I accumulated during my time at IU. THE CHEESY BREAD IS GOD'S GIFT TO YOU. & so is their ranch. I wish I had a constant supply of both on hand at all times. I have tried every cheesy bread in town and no one else comes close. The pizza is sub-par but it doesn't matter because the cheesy bread and breadsticks are so amazing. Best breadsticks in the world. Dip both in the hot cheese dip and then ranch, and you can die happy. The Little $5.55 deal is a bargain with a huge bag of breadsticks, two dipping sauces and a drink. Great study fuel. read more

Pizza Express has been around forever. The breadsticks are not bad, the pizza could be better but it is quite cheap.
